Where Did THAT Come From: Notre Dame Of Springfield

In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. That is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where did THAT Come From?

The cool looking building Notre Dame of Springfield appeared during the end of our Casino 2016 Event in the form of a hybrid Easter/St. Patrick’s Day Mini release.

This post I will be going over the Origin of the Notre Dame of SpringfieldWhy is it in our games? What does he have to do with Springfield? What does it have to do with St. Patricks/Easter? Let’s dive into the Simpsons TV Series to find out more.

Husbands and Knives: Season 19, Episode 7
Marge, tired of the trendy looks and feeling out of place at LA Body Works, decided to create her own style of gym for the everyday women. SHAPES. As her business started to grow and blossom, Homer found himself increasingly getting worried that Marge would leave him. He resorts to the only thing he knows, a completely ridiculous idea. Staple his stomach.

It seems to be working, but now he feels guilty about all his sagging skin falling off his now slimmer body. He goes back to the surgeon to get one of every operation possible. He shows up to an Event being held to honor Marge to show off his new “Sexy” body. The crowd is in disgust, grabs their pitchforks and torches, and starts chanting “Monster. Monster. Monster.”

Homer grabs a hold of Marge and runs from the crowd… right into the only place a Monster hauling a dame would go, right? Notre Dame of Springfield.

Notre Dame of Springfield 1

He climbs the winding staircase to the upper most tower to try and avoid the angry mob outside. There Marge tells Homer that she is WAY too successful to have to keep Homer around and that she is going to get a Trophy Husband instead. Homer is saddened by this and makes his way to the ledge, where Marge pushes him off… hurling him to the crowd below.

Notre Dame of Springfield 2

There you have it, a cool looking building in the TV Series that had a few seconds part in the show and now is a permanent fixture in our silly lil games.

Do you remember how the episode ended? What did you think of Groundskeeper Seamus & the Notre Dame Combo? Did you splurge and pick them up? If so, what do you think of the Building? Let us know.

  1. This building looks dull and boreing. It gave me the creeps looking at it.

  2. I picked it up right away. Yes, you guessed it. to complete the character set. I think I would have grabbed this building thou even if it didn’t come with a character. I was fortunate enough to visit Paris while I was in the military and seeing Notre Dame in person was a moment in life I will never forget, it is simply breathtaking. Seeing it in my Springfield brings back great memories. Speaking of memories, I can’t remember this episode for some reason. Can’t wait to watch it!

Thanks for the cool info Bunny 🐰

  3. Could people check out my website! There is a link in my gravatar profile. So click my profile picture and find the link to my website! Have a look around but bear in mind it is in its early stage! Thank you!

  4. I like the bell dong dong sound that comes with it. Gives a peaceful feeling.

  5. I’m actually done with playing now, sorry to my friends. I no longer have room on my device to update and I am not getting rid of anything else. 😢

  6. I took my sons to swim meets at Notre Dame. It is a very cool campus.

  7. Thanks Bunny
    😃

  8. I passed on this one and now I’m glad I did.

The building looks great, but it will always be a subtle reminder of one of the more nightmarish looks for Homer.

  9. I like it. Yeah they only had cameos in the show but the building looks cool, Sheamus has some cool tasks, I’m happy with my purchase

    • Me too. I keep being pleasantly surprised when I see Notre Dame and I love Seamus and Willie having a wee knuckle buster. It’s funny that I wasn’t half as pleased by Luann & her crackers even if everyone seemed to be foaming about the pita trucks and the mega globe 😀

  10. Dialog that never happened — but probably should have:
Apu: To recapture your wife, you must first seek enlightenment, Homer. You must become at one with everything, and…
Homer: One with everything? That’s it! I’ll tell the doctor to give me one of every surgery, right now! Thanks for the advice!
    Apu: Umm… that’s not really what I meant…
Homer: [booming voice] Silence! One. With. Everything.
Apu: [cringes into corner of Kwik-E-Mart, and shakily hands Homer his hot dog. With everything.]

  11. So sad. I missed getting it by only one day. I really think such a great item should have been made available until Easter was over, even though it was tied to St. Patrick’s Day.

  12. Hey Bunny! Always love your posts! They brighten up my day and I love your sense of humour! Thank you for the post as it is very detailed and useful!! Happy tapping!
