Update time in Springfield. If you haven’t already done so, download the newest update from the app store (that hit yesterday).
As I hinted at yesterday, this is (yet another) Superheroes update. Woo-hoo Things kick off with a 4hr task for Milhouse, once that’s complete you’ll kick off the mini-event.
Let’s take a look at what else is in store…
(FYI Kids and Prof Frink will be needed to complete tasks for this one…Bart, Martin, Lisa, Rod, Todd, Nelson & Milhouse)
Mini-Event Ends September 26th…
Pretty standard mini-event. Complete tasks/questline to collect an item and unlock prizes, oh and new stuff in the store as well. So here’s what we’ve got…

Mystery Box the Sequel- 60 Donuts. Includes: Tar Pits w/ P-Rex, Old King Coal, Senor Ding-Dong’s Doorbell Fiesta w/ Senor Ding Dong, Fruit Bat-Man, Mylar Baggins, Charcoal Briquette, Dr. Crab, Pie Man, The Collector, Dr. Lenny’s Lab and Wholesome & Sons Publishing.
And that’s what’s included with this mini-event update! Something to keep you tapping for the next 2 weeks. I have a feeling we’ll see a Halloween teaser hit once this ends, and then Halloween the following week (Oct 2nd/3rd), at least that’s my guess. We’ll see what happens though.

Didn’t see Sherri&Terri and Uter for example in the store after the Zoo Mystery box had gone away. Are they removed from the store for good?
They’re vault items. So they cycle in and out via the vault
Uhm, they used to be in the regular store before Moe’s Ark Event. Does this mean they have been transfered into the vault?
Odin’s of Shelbyville… but don’t we already have a comic book store? … and a drive-in theater? … and multiple types of goopy looking pits? … and a multitude of random superheros?
Oh well; at least there’s that Free Land Token. LOL!
We do have both already and there is a comic book store in the mystery box also if you don’t already have it (Mylar Baggins) so pretty much 3 comic book stores and all from 3 different towns.

Sadly, despite being in mystery box the Dr. Crab, Old King Coal, etc… returning characters remain non-premium.
I pulled them out of storage to check and then back into the Phantom Zone they go.
Why? If you have multiple full characters just hiding away in storage, and you also have the Office of Unemployment, which can task all of your characters at once, than you’re basically just leaving money (well — in game cash, at least) on the table. I mean, it may not seem all that worthwhile on the surface, but that currency can still be used to buy other in-game stuff, which translates indirectly into more donuts… to buy more premium characters.
(Of course, maybe you’re a donut farmer who has basically crossed that threshold into nigh-unlimited donuts, and so you don’t really care anymore…)
Mystery Box the Sequel also has the Springfield Asylum, which I got on my first try – I then got Fruit Bat-Man, then finally got Tar Pits w/ P-Rex (the one I wanted most). Also got Hans Moleman and the Iron Lung, because I can’t turn down a character and skin for 60 donuts. Now to save the rest of my donuts for Halloween…
Oh boy ! 11 items in my Mystery Box and I want them all ! Alissa, the MB items are 60 ea, with a minimum value of 70.
Mine also includes the Springfield Asylum.
I need a break, so I have decided no to do the mini event. They still don’t get it that we need time away from the game to appreciate it.
1 -2 tap a day normal chill play mode should see you through this mini event as its a whole 2 weeks long. This is the break and the new norm. 😶

Since I didn’t already have Hans Moleman, I instantly bought him/Iron Lung. Wanted him for so long. Also great that Prof. Frink (already have him btw) helps with the mini-event currency.
I might get Alice (Hot Flash) too, but I’m trying to save my donuts for Halloween. Is this a combo like Moleman? (Alice plus the Hot Flash alternate skin)?
Won’t be spending anything on the mystery box. I already have Old King Coal, Charcoal Briquette, Dr. Crab, Pie Man (Homer skin), The Collector (CBG skin), and Dr. Lenny’s Lab from the previous 2 Superhero events.
Since I didn’t have Moleman before, I was offered Iron Lung Bundle for 60 donuts, and it contains Hans Moleman and the Iron Lung. So effectively I bought Hans and got the lung skin for free…

That’s why I keep off buying the premium stuff that is permanently in store, many of them have appeared in a bundle/rebate/mystery box. I recently got Manjula and Sherri&Terri from a box… Now I am wainting for some Jasper offer, as I already have extra skins for him in storage (one is a price from tap ball, another is stonecutters, which I bought for 10 donuts last time it showed up in store with the rest of stonecutter costumes)
Been waiting forever for jasper. He helps with heights, too.
Happy for those of you who are able to buy Moleman and the Iron Lung for 60 sprinklies. At the same time, it feels like EA is sticking it (again) to those of us who are long time players and paid full price for just Moleman way back when (pre-donut farming). Thinking I may skip all premium content for this event since EA is basically penalizing us.

Uhm…….we’ve all been just a “tad” busy. We may get around to it. There are some pretty cool looking zoos.
Are there any items that give bonus % to our multipliers? From the look of things there only seems to be buildings and characters with this update.
We’ll follow up… but, at this point. No.

I like superheroes but I never really liked their Simpsons episodes. But I’ll be happy to have Everyman for free!
Is it just Hot Flash for 150 donuts or is Alice Glick or a building/decoration included with it? It would be pricey for a stand alone character.

Noooo! I would love to put the Stardust Drive-In opposite my existing drive-in, but there is no way I’m rearranging all that. I’ll just have to make a separate little area. Thanks for the info!

Time to re-design so that I can place the new Drive In movie next to my old one.
And, Whooppee, another Land Token. I’ll have a total of 25 to spend on the ~125 slots. And I was fortunate enough to have maxed out on Krustyland before the merge.
I’m waiting to see if EA adds more land options alongside the Zoo elbow/knob

Can’t find the update in APP store, did all the usuals. Zoo stuff gone when I open my game, but splash screen is still for Moe’s Ark and mini event not starting. I guess another delete and reinstall, ugh.

Homer hasn’t had an Everyman skin in the game at all but he does have a Pie Man costume a few years ago so you might of missed that.

Ugh. So disappointed. Super heroes is my least favorite event. Are they really that short of ideas that they have to repeat it for a THIRD time? If they were going to retread something, how about Stone Cutters? That was the best event ever.

You’re right. Sorta. Two full events, then that one little quest with the mystery boxes last year. Now this. And all I wanted was Spider-Pig because I ran out of donuts trying to get him out of the dang MB last year.
Now Stonecutters would be super cool… I totally missed that event as it was before my time so adding it would be something different. I do recall SOME stonecutters items going to store for purchase but don’t recall an actual event.
Wish the Bartman skin was available in the mystery box. Any idea if it’s coming back this event?

I’m expecting a tie in for the start of the new season of The Simpsons before THOH event. They unfortunately wasted the idea of Dr. Hibbert’s Island during this mess of a zoo (and the actually island was released on its own before), so I wonder what they will come up with this year…
