It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread! So, let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part, you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

Well, I think I made plenty of vacant space in my Springfield, but like all of you? I would appreciate a Land Expansion (who knows when the next Event will come, I just hope the TSTO Addicts Staff gets a heads up by email!) 😉

I recently started a “town B”. Currently at LV 102. Not a lot of unlocked land.
For the “Find Maggie” game, how do I get more time to search for her?
Currently, I’m only getting around 1 min, 20 sec.
(I believe 2 mins is the max)
I have a pretty full town and only get 1:17, but it’s very rare when I can’t find her before that.
Three tips:
1) Keep the buildings she likes to go to all (or mostly) in the same general area.
2) Turn the volume up. Her pacifier sucking noise gets louder as you get closer to her.
3) If it looks like you’re about to run out of time, quickly hard close the game before you do. When you get back into the game, the timer for when you can try again will be reset to just five minutes.

Thing I want to know the most is, how do I increase the clock limit to 2 mins?
Is it tied to total land, or…. maybe the bonus percentage?
(my LV 939 Town A has been at 2 mins for as long as I can remember)
My guess would be it’s down to how many buildings you have where she could hide, like loads of Lard Lads or white houses ??
Catch 22 if that’s right, build loads to increase the time but more places to look needs more time to do it !!
Sorry – I answered that, but not clearly, when I made reference to my town being pretty full. The time is based on the number of buildings you have that Maggie goes to. If you want to get to two minutes (my subsequent comment was meant to explain why that’s not really necessary), you’ll need to put more “basic” (brown, blue, white, and pink) houses, Krusty Burgers, and Lard Lads (as well as making sure you have out all of the unique buildings that she goes to, too).

In my Town A, I’ve played the Find Maggie ever since it started, and I don’t think I’ve ever see Maggie at a Brown house.
Come to think of it, I think you may be right about that! So, forget brown houses, then.

More buildings for more time. Program gives more time to check all your buildings
I don’t know if anyone had this problem before, but I bought Costington’s+Mr.Costington via the Yearbook Mystery Box and the questline didn’t start. Am I missing something, was the quest only available when Mr.Costington first appeared or is this a bug?
Mr. Costington is the Chairman of Costington’s Department Store and Springfield Mall (do you have Springfield Mall?) This is a Character Building Combo from the Xmas 2013 Event.
He is an active Member of the Springfield Republican Party (do you have the Republican Party HQ Building?)
Melina Costington is Mr. Costington’s Daughter (she is one of the kids in Springfield we still don’t have in the Game App).
Because of login troubles, I was unable to participate in the two previous events, starting with the Buddha event. Does anyone know if there’s a chance (or know who to talk to) that they might let me, and others who unfortunately missed out, play that ever in the future, or am I never gonna be able to play that storyline and characters.
You might try posting on EA’s tapped out Forum or Answers pages but playing the event at a later date is unlikely.
The good news, kinda, is they were aware players couldn’t join in and it might not be too long before the items turn up as returning content in store or or in a misery box.
They might be thinking it’s not long till Black Friday perhaps . . .

This last event did not impress me overall but it did have lingering images and characters. Thought the dialogue was a bit long in some cases but witty as usual. But, hey, it certainly is better than no event.
Always thankful to EA for this free game who give us a lot of free stuff in a regulary basis with free funny stories and that from many years now… but curiously the eternally dissatisfied have not yet understood that they are also free to leave.
Personally I will be glad to see Iggy Pop in my Springfield, voiced of course !

I know some of you will remember WordPress updates causing problems on Addicts ( Alissa sure will ) so spare a thought for Brooders.
Upgrades on the servers for TOUK knocked it offline briefly a little while back so they built a whole new site that’d work on the new servers and finally launched it at the end of July.
Two weeks later those lovely people in charge of the servers shut down access and it took until yesterday to get them to put TOUK back online !!
If you see a bald Brooders you’ll know why . . .
