It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread! So, let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons or current Tapped Out event) but for the most part, you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

Simpsons is off again tonight and will return after Valentine’s Day. Did you catch the last episode 10? Also, as mentioned last week, season 35 is finally under way in the UK. Did you catch the season 35 premiere if you live in the UK?
The new mini-event is finally underway. Did you catch Graham’s rundown? How are you progressing so far?

I STILL can’t do the Tarot Reader task. It’s been forever.
I got Birch Barlow in the shattered dreams box but he won’t do his first task… I’ve looked around but can’t find it. Does anyone know what he needs to start his tasks? (On a side note: this will be the 3rd character I’ve gotten that I can’t do anything with because they require something (building or such) to do their tasks… the complet-est in me needs to complete all tasks… anyone else have this problem???? Or just me?)
Hello! Not checked in for a couple of years (life…) but been still playing this silly ole game daily, happy to see you are still here with some familiar old faces and some new ones! Same issues seem the same… random crashes, no alphabetical index for characters.. but still we play! No mention of donut farming recently, is that because there are SO many characters and buildings that amassing thousands of donuts is much easier these days? Almost miss the farming! Keep up the good work, so pleased to see you are still here!
Farming’s still a thing, especially for lower level players who are new or who started new towns (hello) but if you’ve got those Donut earners and a half decent bonus and only after the new items in an event then just 21 Ds a day more than pays for those.
I did a mad 4 year grind in my A town to get an insane amount of sprinkles, but even with the collider unused I sometimes think about plonking a few KEMs for old time’s sake !!
I stopped being to farm after I boosted my bonus multiplier so high that, with the collider perpetually on, I earn more donuts than I can ever spend. I spent about a year grinding hard to get to that place, but I’ve been able to play quite leisurely ever since!

My game was automatically downloading updates last night for over half an hour. I tried to sign on again today, and it’s doing it again. Is anyone else having this problem?
Isn’t Apple wonderful, making it’s OS delete things you need ?!?

I got Birch Barlow in the shattered token box and can’t do task 2. It looks like the character is busy and can’t send them on a task, but that is not the case. I have tried storing the character and bringing him back out and have restarted the game. Any suggestions?
I think you need to have the Capital City
Plaza Hotel to do that task and some of his other jobs.
I got him as well. Haven’t reach that far yet. I was happy to get him. Too bad he didn’t came with the building. But happy I got him.
Kia ora y’all! I am contemplating getting the Booberella + Cave + Cavewoman skin deal that’s appeared for this event – however I just wanted to confirm a few details before purchasing, and was hoping some of y’all could help me with this. I don’t normally spend donuts on items other than the XP collider or the year book, and from my understanding, Booberella cannot be purchased from the yearbook, and isn’t in the vault, but her building+skin are in the vault. Therefore, as a limited time character with no regular way of getting, is it a good deal for me to buy the character+building+skin combo for 140 sprinklies, or have I gotten my research muddled up and it’s better to wait to get all the individual items through the vault/yearbook? Ngā mihi!
It depends how easy it is for you to get those donuts, but I think it’s good value and solves a possible future problem …
Normally you’d pay 150 Ds for a building and either a character or skin so you get more for less than usual.
The yearbook doesn’t include the character, so not only would you not be able to use the skin, you’d likely not get the character later if they continue to re-offer the bundle because you’d already own some of the bundle but not all.

Can someone please help me? My game is almost unplayable. The screen is so zoomed in that it’s hard to play and not enjoyable. How do I zoom out? I’ve already changed the setting on my phone’s zoom and that didn’t help. I just got a new phone… Samsung S23 FE. thank you so much.
It’s more likely there was something about the display settings of your old device that meant you were lucky and it zoomed more than it should, but what you see now is how it is meant to be.
I recently replaced a Kindle. It’s only an 8″ screen but the default zoom on that looks like everything else I use or have used when fully zoomed out, even the 10″ tablets and a way to play on a 15″ screen.
I forgot to mention…any others interested in the great works of Mr. Phil Hartman..you have to watch News Radio..which also stars the great Dave Foley of Kids in the Hall fame..eh Safi..along with the great Maura Tierney, the crazy Andy Dick, a young Joe Rogan, of course the gorgeous red head Vicki Lewis..who once played George Costanza’s secretary on an episode of Seinfeld, where they each gave the other “a raise”….and the hilarious Stephen Root as Jimmy James..the boss at the network. Anyway..like I said..you gotta check out News Radio..one of the best comedies ever..that ended too soon…like the Great Phil Hartman.

I have love this game for a long time and I have followed addicts for half as long. Both have gotten better with age. Yes on the game there’s been some ups and down. With the Simpsons being around a long time, it is great to hear the catch phrase of those actors that have passed. For example Ms. K. Just hearing her put a smile on my face with memories of her best episode. I love to see Mr. Hurtzs in the game, just honor the late Mr. Hartman. Can you imagine hearing ” I said no money down” or ” sweet bourbon with rich brown, I have to my sponsor. If we could get Troy MClure once with Mr. Hartman say ” you might recall me from” anything! I think would be a great to honor one of the simpsons great voice actor of beloved series
