What EA said:

The Simpsons arrive at the location Fornby had sent them to and discover that the “racket” is none other than the wild Blazing Guy Festival. Marge hustles over to the public phone, but it doesn’t seem to be working. While trying to figure out what to do next, the Simpsons keep running into surprisingly familiar faces at the festival, and Otto agrees to give the family a ride home when the festival concludes at sunset with the wooden Blazing Guy statue being set on fire. The Simpsons split up to have fun, stressing Marge out even more as they get into various festival hijinks. As the sun sets, this year’s Blazing Guy Ignis, Calypso Self-Knowledge, goes to light the Blazing Dude but finds the statue covered in desert chameleons, and drops her torch into a bucket of herbal tea in surprise. Homer decides it’s Hero Time and leaps into action, grabbing a big vat of super-hot grease from Cletus’ barbecued varmint stall. The chameleons flee from the statue as Homer douses it with super-hot grease – which causes the Blazing Guy to combust. At first everyone is happy, but the grease fire causes a bunch of smoke to billow into the air, creating a storm cloud over the festival. Lisa observes that it hasn’t rained in this area of the desert in over seventy years – surely one little cloud isn’t going to rain now. Of course it does. The twelve drops of rain that fall from the “barbecue cloud” generate exactly .0001 inches of rain, the most rain this desert has ever gotten and causing the sand for miles around to turn to mud. Everyone is trapped and angry at the Simpsons now.

  1. Will you be doing a post on the desert welding yard

  2. Another way to accumulate extra XP is to build Boardwalk sections. 1000 XP each and they can just be left in storage.

    • Yes but past level 100, it’s 500k XP to the next level. And you can only make 500 boardwalk tiles, and 100 for heights tiles.

  3. Is anyone else having trouble with capturing chameleons?

The “Do it” button for capturing chameleons is no longer working properly. And the problem started approximately 2 to 3 days ago when I started capturing chameleons for one of the event quests.

What has been happening lately is that when I tap that button, it takes me to a spot beyond the Northeastern Territory of the Springfield Heights area. There no chameleons there that I can see. I tapped all over that spot to see if the chameleons are being hidden by the mountains, but nothing happens to indicate that I’ve successfully captured a chameleon.

The only way that I have been around this problem is to hunt for the chameleons the hard way.

    • It’s likely they were hidden and moving – and may have been one on it’s own making it hard to find.

It found a handful hiding behind mountains for me when I just checked for my C town, but in my B town it usually goes to lone ones hiding behind buildings in a cluttered town – oh joy !!

      • Mine worked fine for Acts one and two, but now it is taking me to the ocean in the top left corner of the map. There are no buildings there, and no chameleons either….

    • If you can, think where you saw a group of ’em previously and check around there – they do seem to have favourite spots to spawn and wander

    • My town is swamped with them, I have hundreds they return as quickly as I splat them. I hate it, I wish they would vanish once you’ve collected enough, which can be done within seconds, such a pointless and boring task.

  4. I feel a little crazy but I’m almost tempted to get the Gil deal.

  5. I only have 152 donuts and I want both the welding yard and the act four premium. I don’t want to spend more money, and it’s really unlikely I’ll get the jackpot from new land. I can’t farm donuts- I only make about 1 or 2 donuts per four hours. I might be able to farm enough to get both, but then I will barely have any money to spend on the money decorations for the event. I noticed in the promotion image for the desert welding yard had the solar system sculpture- can it make more, and, if it can, do they still give 2.5% bonus?

    • You can make more sculptures at the wielding yard. But not sure if the extra sculptures earn bonus percentage yet.

    • I’d suggest get this and Delbert Fornby, the act 2 premium, even if it means buying donuts.

TIP: If you’re past lvl 11 sell all but 1 of any Kwik-E-Marts you may have and build a few more. When they’re ready just complete them to collect the XP and then sell those before building a few more new ones.
You may still need to consider a 60 or 132 Donut pack to get what you want though.

Delbert Fornby is the only one who can make those Planet Sculptures, and they do all have the 2.5% bonus.
This will also be a good way for lower level or lower bonus players to earn a lot of those $$s.

It’s going to be a pretty big and detailed post for that, but I’m almost done with tests and screenshots so I can get to writing it all up ready for Tuesday.

      • Thank you so much! I’m probably going to spend more money then. I did want cactus Bart and Lisa, but 1% earns me more cash than a premium character anyway. BTW I’m at level 127 and make ~125k/4 hours, and I’ve finished heights.

      • Also, I could KEM farm, but my profit would not be proportional to the 600K+ money I make per day. I’m still at a point where money is valuable and I always need more.

        • You don’t want KEMs so they earn, you just want the XP for finishing building them and then get rid.
Building 5 KEMs 5 times a day would cost 1% of your income, just over 6,000 $$s.
The key is don’t keep ’em, sell ’em once you get the reward.
You can’t sell the one that unlocked Apu but clear the rest and the next one you build is 220 $$s then 260, 300, 380, 450.
Shell out 1,610 and get 402 back selling them.
The more you have or the more you build the cost goes up until it hits 14,400 $$s each at 25 or more after the original one.

          • I know. I meant that I would only make 1 or 2 donuts a day, and since I still have cash land left to buy, I don’t want to spend all of that money for a few donuts. I already make ~3 to 5 a day from frontier and find Maggie.

            • Fair enough, but IMO every little helps.
              Bonus is key.
I started a new town not long after I began as a writer on here and even though that now earns over a million $$s and XP just from collecting everyone on one hour jobs I still maintain a patch of 32 KEMs on a constant build, collect, sell cycle.
Last night I used almost 200 Donuts doing tests and checks on the Welding Yard and I’ll have made them back in another 2 hours.
I’ve also got a bit over 2.5 billion in the bank and a Donut count over 4,000 when I make back that spend.
Not too shabby for an 18 month old town.

              • Nice! I have 297.65% bonus now, and am funneling most of my donuts towards my bonus now. I’ve gotten about 45% more since summer of our discontent started from the burns box.

              • I just got the welding yard, and it’s crazy overpowered. Do you think they will nerf it or make it so the planet sculptures don’t give as much bonus/any? Also, do you know if it we will still be able to make them after the event ends? I’ve been spending all my donuts on speeding up the task in case it stops working after the event.

              • The Sculptures you unlock are in the permanent store so buying and crafting should be available long after the event ends.

As to if they make changes to how it works in the future who knows.

If you can answer that and don’t work for EA what are next weeks winning lotto numbers ?!!

  6. This would have been helpful if it was received yesterday.

    • Act 3 just started less than 90 minutes ago. So we wouldn’t be sure if everything we’re posting is accurate if we did so yesterday.

      • Thank you! I’ll probably wait to see how many quests there is related to cactus Bart and Lisa, and how big the mother cactus is, before I decide. Hoping for jackpot 💰
