Super Safi’s Monday Morning Math Mayhem 35 – Donut Deal values

Morning Mathematical Monsters & Maniacs!

(Today’s post is sponsored by the letter “M”)

Hi, I’m Super Safi and you may remember me from such stats and strategy posts as Kwik-E-Mart Farming and the advanced losing-to-win Superheroes battle strategy.

Over the past 600+ episodes, The Simpsons has taken us on an amazing mathematical journey involving fractions, probability, Fermat’s last theorem, and hundreds of other aspects from the wonderful world off mathematics.

And what better way to start your week, then by discussing math Monday morning?

This week we look at the value of donuts in the Store, as the game comes to an end.

With the game coming to an end, donuts are available for quite cheap amounts of in-game cash.

But which deal is the best value?

Donuts In-Game Cash Price per Donut
1,600 3,000,000               1,875.00
1,000 1,800,000               1,800.00
550 900,000               1,636.36
285 450,000               1,578.95
100 150,000               1,500.00
65 90,000               1,384.62
30 37,500               1,250.00
9 7,500                   833.33

By far, the best deal is to trade in 7,500 in-game case for 9 donuts, as each donut costs just 833.33 in-game cash.

However, as you can imagine, it can be quite time consuming to make multiple small purchases. To get 1,600 donuts, you can make 1 purchase of 1,600 donuts. Or alternatively 178 purchases of 9 donuts to get 1,602 donuts

So those with a lot of in-game cash may prefer to make just 1 purchase of 1,600 donut for 3,000,000 as opposed to making 178 purchases of 9 donuts for 1,602 donuts at the much cheaper cost of 1,335,000 (over 55% savings).

So are you buying donuts? If so, what’s your plan? Are you making fewer transactions just to get the highest volume of donuts quickly? Or are you making multiple smaller purchases to save in-game cash? Sound off in the comments below. You know we love hearing from you.

I have 20,000 donuts and cannot yet imagine needing more. I have spending my time on one game storing things away and creating a new town and making videos for later. But if I did the strategy would be to buy bonus items (like the wailing walls) that produce cash and %. God would produce enough cash for enough donuts. Turn on collider for even more donuts (but you will be annoyed getting 3 donuts at a time).

  2. My game stopped loading last week. Not the only one either as I saw a thread on the official forum. I really wanted to get as much missing stuff as I could before it ended but I kinda doubt they’re gonna fix it. Went through the suggested list of fixes on the forum and still no luck.

I read somewhere that taps wave 5 will have new content maybe old Gil, 🤔

I realise tappers are feeling the pain with this 💔 but i am tapping more than normal and will do till i can’t anymore, it will leave a big hole in my game playing.

Try to enjoy the game we love and find a way to preserve this as a reminder, screen shots, video clips, memory books, i plan an A1 poster with all the splash screens.

Whatever way that will give you a bit of joy when looking at it.

If that might be to hard for some delete the game and find something else….

    • New stuff is 2 weeks away, but no Gil from what I’ve seen.
Building, some deccies and some new festive skins for the new items.
I should get all the 5 Waves covered by the time those arrive.

      • KRoon64/ Keith Rooney

I got 6 separate tasks to do with wave 3items, bit like old times, hot flash I didn’t get the 1st time, a few npcs and some decorations I went overboard with, 350000 donuts, maxed the cash, enjoying while is lasts, keep on tapping 😃 at 39b on hights but can’t see how I can get to 2b

  4. Do you know when they will be selling insulin?

  5. Lots of people saying they have so much donuts and cash and don’t know what to do with it all. If you have the billionaires club, why not use it to pave your streets with gold, literally.

  6. I’ve already acquired something like 28,000 donuts and still have over $2 billion in cash. I acquired everything in Taps pt. 1 and 2 that I want when it was originally offered. Will there be a Taps. Pt. 3 or is this it? I’m mainly looking for the very few characters/skins that I didn’t get originally. Otherwise, sadly, the game’s pretty much over for me.

    • I’m sorry if I sound crass, but……why? Why do you want stuff that will disappear on January 24?

      • I’m sorry if I sound like a jerk..I usually do, however; some may want to acquire things they don’t have, so they can add those items to their designs and towns before the Reset..I mean End.

I’m probably stupid, or Silly, but I’m acquiring lots of items….so before the re…end, I will be able to “capture” an amazing photo of My Springfield..with every item available.

        That’s Why…

      • You want to tap, tap
        You want to quit, quit,
        You want to nuke, nuke,
You want to tell everyone else how to behave, go away and hang your head in shame

      • For me, I want to acquire whatever skins/characters I haven’t gotten because they’re (usually) associated with a quest or otherwise have dialogue. Since I’ve already completed the goodbye quest, it’s all about extending the gameplay.

      • So, if you knew you were going to die on January 24, would you kill yourself today or would you try to enjoy the time you have left?

    • KRoon64/ Keith Rooney

There will be 5 parts to taps, pt.3 today…..

      • Thanks! Hopefully there will be more opportunities to extend the gameplay for me before I sadly have to find something else to do. Since Hulu revived Futurama and has renewed it for another two seasons airing in 2025 and 2026, I’m hoping somebody will either revive the old Futurama game or release a new one.

I agree with Sillyboy… what is the point??? Unless EA has punked us, instead of Halloween they give us the doomsday update as a 12th anniversary gift! IF ONLY…
I have💰1,912,625,678 and over 11,000 donuts. I’ve played religiously for 12yrs @ a few times a day, just enjoying the game to no end. Ooops, I guess there is a end, if we can’t keep our game. 👎

    • What’s the point?…are you serious?

Don’t enjoy this new movie…it’s gonna end anyway.

Don’t bother tasting this amazing Big Kahuna Burger..it will be finished anyway…

Don’t bother to continue watching that amazing …”insert program here”….it’s just going to end in 3 seasons.

      Don’t bother even waking up…you’re just going to….”you know”..anyway..

The point is to enjoy the things you love.while they are here! Don’t take things for granted..they can be gone tomorrow! That’s the Point!

And pass this point along to Sillyboy….creepy name to me for a grown man.

  8. Thank you Safi for this post, I knew I could Count on you to break drown the math (a subject I am not good at); this was problem I was tempted to ask earlier. Thanks again. (Though IDK if I’ll be converting much of it since I already have plenty of donuts already)

  9. I’m sorry to be the one who says this, but here it goes: what’s the point? The game is over. Sad but true.

    • If you read the comments some others have posted, there are at least three “points” I’ve seen. Some people are continuing to enjoy designing their towns, especially with new items they’re now able to get for the first time through the Taps releases. On a related note, some folks are getting new (for them) characters through the Taps releases and the ability to easily generate donuts, which is giving them new quest lines to play. And some people are setting “challenges” for themselves to attain various limts (like max cash or a certain number of donuts or whatever).

So, if others are still enjoying playing during the remaining time left, why “harsh their buzz,” as they say? And, I’m sorry to be the one to say this, but you’re not the first person to say words to the effect of, “What’s the point? The game’s over.”

As for me, given that all this is happening during a time that I’m away spending 60ish hours a week caring for my sick mom, with no near term end in sight, I’m glad they gave us until January to play with our towns. There are things I definitely want to do with mine before time is up, once I’m back home and have some spare time. I’m super bummed about the game ending, but I see no point in saying that the game is over when it’s not yet and some folks are still finding ways to enjoy what we have left.

      • I hear you Sandra…I’ve been taking care of my mom as well. It’s so hard at times…but what you are doing is commendable. Take pride…and plenty of deep breaths. Hang in their and rely on your faith whatever form that may be. My Mother sacrificed so much for me and my Brother growing up that I feel obligated to do the same for her now. My daughter works in the nursing field and always says..”Daddy, take care of Memere..(Acadian French for Grandma/Grandmother) as long as you can…these nursing homes can be awful”. So I will always do what I can until I can’t do it alone. Luckily I’m a single Man, so it’s not too hard…but I don’t have much of a personal life…as people can probably tell….if your read my drivel.

Anywho…hang in there…I wish you the best….even though I’ve been a real ass at times. Please accept my sincere apologies.

        • Thanks, and I’m sorry you have first-hand knowledge of what I’m going through with mom. I’m an only child (with no children of my own), so it’s just me. Add to that the fact that I normally live 200 miles away, so haven’t been home in about two months now (thankfully, my husband is understanding, and especially busy this time of year) and it makes it even harder. But she’s been a good mom to me and it’s unthinkable that I wouldn’t be there for her when she needs me! I just wish I had brought more than a few tshirts and a couple of pairs of shorts that are now way too big for me, since I’ve lost a lot of weight since I’ve been here. I’m happy to have dropped a few pounds, but this definitely isn’t the way I would have chosen to do it! 😄

        • To both Mike and Sandra:
Oh, man I feel your pain.
The thought of seeing a parent suffer sure puts the end of a game into perspective and I hope you find solace in the love and the memories when the time to say a final farewell comes.
I also hope that’s a long way off, to give you as much time as possible with them.
My thoughts are with you both.

          • Thanks, Graham….much appreciated. Right now, mom’s not anywhere close to death, thankfully, although the problems that we have to solve are many and tricky (especially given limited funds, etc.), like how things will work once she’s released from the rehab/sub-acute center she’s in now. But one day at a time….

  10. I spent all my cash trying to buy land. And then they pulled the plug. So- i can spend 877 doughnuts to get 1,600 doughnuts. That’s a net gain of 723 doughnuts for free.

  11. I’ve been repeatedly buying 1600 donuts and then rushing god with a small fraction of those donuts to recover the game cash. With a 924% bonus, this is pretty time-efficient.

There’s a well-known game cash limit of 2^32-1 =4,294,967,295. Is there a similar limit for donuts?

  12. I was buying the 1600 cases…have 10k donuts now and $132,971,974 still in cash…but this was an interesting breakdown!

  13. I rage clicked 1600 donuts until I had 500,000. Then I went back to being sad again.

  14. Aw, man, Safi, I can’t unsee this now! lol! It’s going to kill me knowing I will pay more per donut using the full 1600 donuts purchase, but you are right, it would be tedious to buy 9 at a time… ugh! I wish I didn’t know! LOL

  15. KRoon64/ Keith Rooney

I buy the 1600 donut deal and use the 777777 god to increase my in game cash, I was on 32000 donuts when the news of the end came and now have over 200 000 donuts and max game cash.

Don’t need any more as I didn’t use much on wave 1 and 2 releases, hopefully a character or 2 in wave 3 released today, will see?……….l

  16. Between everyone having God and the ability to buy donuts with in game cash, everyone has basically infinite money now. Buy 1600 donuts, find god, send him on his 24 hour job, spend 260 donuts to finish it, repeat until you’re out of donuts. Even with no bonus multiplier, the 6x 24h jobs net you $4.6 Mil. Enough for another 1600 donuts and then some. If you’ve been playing for any length of time, you should have at least a 200% multiplier (Most likely much more), so you’ll be getting closer to $9 Mil back. Buy 4800 donuts, and just keep repeating until you’re happy.

  17. Hi Super Safi
I want to know how to take a massive photo of my whole town. Can we please get a run down on this. Thanks

  18. I’m using the system to get free cash for my B town so I can purchase the aspirational buildings. Spend $37500 to get 30 donuts, do this about 53 times to get 1600 donuts. Then sell the 1600 donuts back for $3,000,000. Ends up with a profit of about $1,000,000. The 53 transaction grind takes only a couple of minutes each time.
Other tip is to purchase the “Christmas” Totem in Taps pt. 1 to get 2.5% XP bonus for just 10 donuts.
