Caught a glimpse of this late tonight and I figured I would put it out there for our readers to dissect and pull apart.
Here is what I am referring to.

First of all, I wondered if this indeed WAS the real Matt Selman from the Simpsons. If so, it is pretty cool he is dropping little hints on the game. (Which could mean possible TV tie ins too.) Something possible coming this September.

the only update I would want would be a voiced Fat Tony and a voiced Hank Scorpio. They are my two favorite characters and it sucks they walk around silent. I know it’ll probably never happen but a guy can dream.
i guess that doesn’t really count as an update. Someone mentioned Lance Murdock. A purchase of him with Duff Gardens would be awesome.
OK so Lisa goes to a testing lab where they’re testing things on monkeys, and lets them all go. (bananas) so our Springfield is overrun with monkeys that we have to catch?
Maybe they’ll give us little domes to catch them. I can’t even imagine how they’d put a dome over our towns?! The drop thing in quotes is certainly curious. Maybe they’ll drop the prices, that’d be good. I want the Mayan set but I can’t swing 300 donuts right now. Then I figured I’d get the ninja Homer but then… homer has a lot of hilarious things to do already. Fight hugs bunny, pull a stone – nakey, drink at the table. Think I’ll save my sprinkles for new content. I do wish they had brought back the snake full of kids from the whacking day event. Darnit.

First thing that comes to mind by the “drop” is the Party Posse episode. The whole drop da bomb song and “Yvan eht Nioj.” I’m just not sure how a crazy bananas update would work with that.
I am kinda holding out on the yard sale like you bunny in hope of a Gil day old doughnuts deal. It’s about time one of those came about I would defiantly capitalise and spend £50 on 2400 donuts . What are the odds in that coming back any insight tapped out team ?
I think we’ll see Gil before the end of the year..but I’m hoping sooner rather than later. You just never know what EA has up their sleeves with him!

Something about the quotation marks around the word “drop” in his comments kept itching at the back of my brain. Then about five minutes ago it finally hit me. Perhaps the Dome will “drop” over our Springfields. Simpsons Movie special event? As for Halloween and not having two big events back-to-back, perhaps this year it will only be a mini-event like 4th of July

I would LOVE too, honestly. One issue though, it would go against EA policies if I gained access to another players log in and password, entered there game, etc. Big Big no no. Sorry. I am held at a lil higher scrutiny due to who I am. Otherwise, I would have fun messing with…errrr…designing other towns. 😉
Surely that relates to hacking…..if you are invited in isn’t that allowed or is this related the the incident we must never mention?
Yes. The site that must not be named “new owner” ruined it for the rest of us bloggers. We’re watched pretty closely. Any unauthorized access could not only impact me, but the site. I won’t risk that.
Where can I download some PDF files of some town layouts so I can look at different styles. . when you’re in the game mode is too difficult to look at the entire layout and I was wondering if there was a way to download some of the towns in a printable format
Do you mean like on a grid?
Yes.. ..there has to be somewhere or you can download the entire grid of different towns or even the actual Springfield town..
I don’t want to copy anything but I just want to get some ideas for different designs
I think if you look online you may see some. For us, we just have a pick of generic small grid on our art section. The rest, all just pics of entire towns or of parts of towns.
I can’t believe I spent 300 donuts on the whale.. I think it was a wise investment but damn!!..300 donuts??!!
Perhaps a re-release of the banana republic with the update
before any updates….they need to fix the game, so sick of this tapped out has stopped working crap…on the point of deleting this game
Awwww, I know some are still struggling. Sorry. I really wish I could quick fix them all. Only EA can, and only if the issue is something they CAN fix and not issue with the device itself just not accepting the game. That’s why we ask players to keep contacting them. If we don’t tell them the issues, they won’t know.

I can’t believe I actually did it. I just purchased 2400 donuts for $99.00.. I feel like a kid at xmas and I am 46 yrs old.. it actually feels good to support the tech team for developing such a wonderful game. I am at level 42 with 50% bonus on my conformity meter. the only problem is I’ve just been piling stuff in and collecting money and XP .. I would really love to do the store all command one of these days and start from scratch and design a beautifully well placed Springfield. . to be quite honest it scares the living s*** outta me thinkin about pressing that store all nuclear bomb.
any feedback would be really nice.. does it really work? Any pros or cons ?

As far as the nuke button goes…it does work (and well). But I’m personally terrified to do it in my “A” game . However, we do have a number of readers in this community that have nuked their towns and are currently working on a redesign. I think if you want to redesign your WHOLE town…it’s well worth it. But if you’re only looking to redesign sections, you might be better off going piece by piece. But that’s just my opinion…anyone else want to chime in? 🙂

Aztec theatre does have some tasks that can be used on it. Otherwise, a cool looking building. 😉

Strategy wise it is kind of pointless but I have to admit it was the first thing I ever bought with donuts. It’s a looker and when the lights go on… best building in the game.
I love the Aztec. It’s one of the first things I bought. I go with whatever I find aesthetically pleasing… plus it’s an iconic building from the show.
My favourite character purchases are blue-haired lawyer and moleman. They have hilarious outdoor tasks! But it really comes down to who your faves are from the show. 🙂
My opinion if your Springfield is just stacked buildings is to nuke it and do it now or you never will. Have quite a few neighbors whose towns are cramped unorganized messes where you can’t even tell what’s what. Nothing ever changes and I just don’t see the point if you enjoy playing aaaannnndddd especially if you decide to invest in some yummy donuts.If you truly want to add your own touch and clean up your Springfield don’t hesitate. DROP THE BOMB.
I think you’re right.. I think I need to just drop that bomb and start with a clean slate..
I wonder if I can find someone who might be interested in designing my town for me from scratch…

If you want to imitate…we do have some step by steps for 2D and 3D art in our menu section. The Showoff posts provide some great views of other towns. No harm in taking ideas from one and turning them into your own. 😉
thank you for the link to the Aztec theater. I am going to purchase it now.. what is it with some of my neighbors who feel the need to constantly graffiti my town? whenever I visit my neighbor’s town I never use the graffiti can.. oh well..

Cheers! I’m glad I’m not the only one one in this age bracket that is so hooked on this game. I haven’t done the Boatload of Donuts… *yet* though. I don’t have any plans on re-nuking my town any time soon. I like how it is “naturally” growing and expanding on its own. I move and change things around when I can working within the limitations I put myself in just like a real town or city. I find that part of the challenge and fun of the game.
You would be surprised at the age groups of the TSTO players. Lol. 😉

Those are interesting poll results. Thanks for sharing the link to them, Alissa. It was interesting not only seeing the age groups, but also the geography of where users of the site are located and which are their most favorite and least favorite premium buildings, stand-alone characters, events.

A number of oldies on the site, the age range is great this game does appeal to all ages just like the original show.
My recommendation is nuke and redesign all the best towns have a structure or theme its part of the fun for me anyway.
I recommend the Aztec Theater. If I’m not mistaken, it was the first premium building I bought. Not only does it add character to the town, but it gives jobs for some of your residents as well such Bart, Comic Book Guy, and Squeaky Voice Teen. I say go for it.
I took the plunge about a week or so ago and so have a few of my neighbours. It really does work. I did have a basic design in mind before I nuked which helped me rebuild relatively quickly. As an example, I recreated my Duff party area and car show and shine and my ode to Pisa with the Banana Republic. Also have my wooded area, industrial area for factories and a suburb area for houses. I know I will keep fiddling with it but am pretty happy with the results. I agree with Thomasdean that if your buildings are stacked up, now is the time, however if you have some favourite bits, take a screenshot to help with recreating
Dont do it!!!! It stored all my entire town into my inventory. I began redesigning then closed the game. Only to be locked out for almost 2 weeks. It wouldnt let me even log in!! The only way they could fix it quick was to restore it back to the last good day of play. Plus I would lose any items bought after that. Luckily I only bought the gold mansion tue same good day. . That was 2 LONG BORING ANXIOUS WEEKS!!! DONT DO IT.
hope its futurama people mixed with the monorail & halloween that would be crazy & give us alot to do/look forward too
I just wish the game would work at all, at least for me. It’s been acting out since 3 days ago and I can’t even get past the logon/welcome screen. Did eveything but uninstall the **** thing…
Give the uninstall a try and see what happens. If still an issue, let EA know.

It can’t be anything too big! In October is the Halloween update and i can’t remember them dropping 2 major updates back to back months!!!
