Akira has arrived in Springfield! Fugu and sushi and blowfish Ohhh Myyy!
So, Akira is the premium character introduced into TSTO with the Level 44 update (you can check out our Should I Buy Guide Here). He was introduced with the Happy Sumo Restaurant…woo-hoo Blowfish for everyone! 😉
Akira comes with an extremly long (dialogue wise) questline that’s broken up into several parts, and a bonus questline if you have Ninja Homer! So, since there’s no time like the present let’s get this Turbo Tappin’ Adventure on the way shall we?

Akira starts
Make Akira Work a 24hr Shift- 24hrs, Earns $1,000 and 225xp
Make the Simpsons Family Take Advantage of a Free Meal- x4. Earns $350, 90xp. Can send Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Grampa.

Akira starts
Make Akira Serve Questionable Fugu- 2hrs, Earns $175, 40xp
Make Springfielders Eat Questionable Fugu- x10. 1hr, Earns $105, 26xp.

Place Bonsai- x3. At this point, you can make Akira Plant, Prune and Re-pot to get more Bonsai! (36hr process) Harvest Bonsai 3 times, or purchase it from the store (12 donuts each). If you have Database, he earns one free so you’ll only need to create two.

Homer starts
Make Akira Karate Time- 8hrs, Earns $420, 105xp
Make Ninja Homer Karate Time- 8hrs, Earns $420, 105xp (only applies if you have Ninja Homer. If you don’t have Ninja Homer it still pops but no task for Homer applies)
Sensei You, Sensei Me Pt. 2
Akira starts
Make Akira Impersonate a Character from Star Trek– 12hrs, Earns $600, 150xp
The following applies if you have Kumiko..
I Think I’m Turning Japanese (Because I Am Japanese)
Kumiko starts
Make Akira Speak Japanese with Kumiko- 6hrs, Earns $575, 145xp
And with that Akira’s questline is complete!
If run from start to finish, without using donuts, it’ll take you nearly 8 days and 7hrs to complete! (if you have Kumiko, with out her subtract 6hrs)

I love you, Alissa, for having written the note in this article about the fact that you don’t get a bonsai the first time Akira goes through the sequence. I just got to that point and was worried about the fact that there was no bonsai (after looking through every last item in my inventory), but I thought that, before I started “panicking” that something was wrong, I’d check the Turbo Tappin’ article and, lo and behold!, there was your wonderful note! Thank you for saving me from worry and from making an embarrassing call to EA! <3

I’ve recently bought the Sumo and worked through to the end of the Bonsai quest, but when it tells me to place the Bonsai there’s nothing in my inventory. Akira is now on the second task to create the next one (prune), but the task book quest link is still for ‘place Bonsai 0/3’. I also noticed that I can’t purchase the Bonsai as a separate decoration, even though at level 46 it should be available to me, so I suspect that is the problem. Any ideas on how I can fix this or is it time to contact EA?

im having trouble with Fuguaboutit Pt. 2 i sent akira out to do sample when the time was up i tapped on him and it didnt go to the next quest its still in my task book and it says done i have deleted it put it in storage and logged out still the quest in in my task book marked done and i cant get to the next quest any help
Try storing and putting back his place to see if it helps. If not, contact EA.
Tried it and contacted them they weren’t any help I talked to them they didn’t help me
At the very end of this quest, After speaking Japanese with Kumiko, there was a black info box that popped up. I again tapped too fast before I could read it. Do you know what it said?
It is probably the info about the Bonsai’s but we will look again.
I didn’t see anything out of the ordinary. Most likely what you saw was just the standard “Completed” pop up box at the end of the quest.
How do you get Ninja Homer?
Ninja Homer is no longer available. He was part of Whacking Day 2013 and then was brought back for the July 2014 Yard Sale. So sadly, if you don’t have him already you can’t currently get him. 🙁

Ok I’m confused sorry if you addressed it. After the entire quest you can only have three bonsai period? Or does he continually plant and create bonsai at will?
You can keep doing all 3 tasks as many times as you want (in order) to get more Bonsai..
I really want to buy the happy sumo and get akira but i cant find it anywhere in the shop do you unlock it in a certain level or what? Just to let you know im in level 17 🙁 i heard you can buy it once you unlock moes tavern but i still cant find it
You should be able to purchase it once you’ve unlocked Moe’s. If you’ve done that already and still don’t see it best bet is to contact EA. Let them know what happened, they may have to go in and restore it for you…

So if you prune a bonsai before its planted will it grow to be a prune tree?

So I can have Akira make a third Bonsai instead of buying one?
I dont see any 36 hour task to do that, so I’m I right to asume that it’s a series of several tasks to make one?
Yes, and yes. His 12hr task will switch each time you complete it to the next stage of creating the bonsai
Same experience as Daniel, just so you know. I don’t have Ninja Homer, but I still had the task for Akira to do Karate. Personally I am enjoying having both Akira and The Happy Sumo. The animation in the restaurant’s windows cracks me up, and I like Akira’s outside tasks and his ability to produce free bonsais. I wouldn’t put this combo at the top of my premium purchase list, but I am glad that I bought it!
For now I’ve purposefully stalled and I’m sending 70+ people every hour for questionable fugu. They all get premium task payout. Helping me build the bank for spatial items and the rest of the land.
When I get bored I’ll send him on the 2 hour task and then move on.
That’s a smart strategy..good way to bank some extra cash 🙂
You forgot something. After the karate time quest you get another one if you have Kumiko(CBG’s wife) called “I think I’m turning Japanese (because I am Japanese)” Have Akira speak Japanese with Kumiko.
Just finished this quest. And I can confirm getting karate time quest with NOT having ninja Homer
Ah I know what happened. I nuked my B town and didn’t pull her out of inventory! Thanks for the heads up…
Just did the kumiko part… Very funny
I don’t have Ninja Homer and still go to do the last questline – Homer just doesn’t get to do the karate task (Akira says something about him needing the right attire).
Well there ya go…i’ll make that change. I have ninja homer in both games and you know what happens when you assume 😉
