What’s the haps amigos? Wookiee popping in for even more origin goodness for all my favorite skyfingers. You know, just when you think a game is busy enough with superheroes, vigilantes, villains and criminals, EA decides we need even more goodness and drops Level 50 in our games. Of course, a new level means new stuff and that’s where I come in. Here’s a small hint… all the items have something to do with the Lovejoys. Surprised? I must admit a playful side of me wants to leave it at ust that but you know I’d never leave you hanging. For this round of where did THAT come from, we’ll take a look at the Murderpuss.
Whoa this is one wacky looking robot with an awful name. It definitely looks religious of a sort but what does it have to do with The Simpsons? For 30 donuts, Murderpuss adds a 1% bonus to your game’s cash & XP earning. This vicious looking item comes from “I, (Annoyed Grunt)-bot” (S15:E9). It was actually one of the fighting robots entered in the Robot Rumble. Can you guess who its owners are? Absolutely correct… this priest-looking robot is none other than Reverend Lovejoy and Jessica’s entry into the contest.
Really not much more to say other than it’s worth watching the Robot Rumbles and that it cracks me up that Homer’s robot came courtesy of him once again not building something right (a bike) and then somehow actually building a bot capable of fighting, well… sort of. Pretending to be a robot is the same thing, right? Chief Knock-a-Homer is awesome!
So we got a new premium decoration that’s a robot rumbler. ANyone got a theory on why its named Murderpuss? I know if I was gonna make a fighting robot with my daughter it’d have a much better name. What’s your opinion of it? Sound off and stay classy. TTFN… Wookiee out!
Well, it has got 8 arms, so it might be a play on octopus. Of course the ‘octo’ part means 8 though, so it is not a good play on words!
Would like to point out that the original, tv version has 8 arms before someone points me to the TSTO version.
Could the name come from comic character Kill-cat?
I just tried searching that name based on Murderpuss & discovered the character.
Here’s a description:
“Kill Cat is a wealthy executive who used money and power to create a super hero identity in order to get girls. In this regard he failed spectacularly. One thing is for certain; his ability to maim, kill, destroy and insult his team mates while blowing up planets is unparalleled, and apparently not his fault.”
That’s from comicvine.com
Also hoping for an Easter update here 😉
If I were to build a robot with my daughter the name would have to be Get Thee to a Nunnery
Ha! Great answer! 😀
Haha love it. Is your daughters name Ophelia by chance lol
Originally I thought it was a pun or derivation of another sports mascot, to coincide to Chief Knock-A-Homer, and the old Braves mascot. I didn’t find an obvious tie-in with a quick search of it, though. Maybe it was to refer to having a Killer Smile… But then Murderpuss had no face.
Yet, the episode also reminded me of ROBOWARS (UK) In that series there was a robot named Killertron, a “house robot” named Sir Killalot, and a finalist named Pussycat. Maybe this was a rough portmanteau?
OR… Maybe it was a synonym interchange of Grant Imahara’s [i.e. The former MYTHBUSTER] own Battle Bot, DeadBlow!
Dead = Murder, Blow… (Breathe through your) Mouth = Puss
I also thought of the the phrase, “Faster pussycat, Kill! Kill!”
I remember this episode of The Simpsons and it was quite clever. What would I name my robot? probably something silly like Scraps (since it would be a robot created with parts from the scrap heap (lol). I have to agree with everyone in that I’m ready for another event or quest (Easter 2015).
“If you ever wanted to see a mailbox shoot a little boy, that’s about as close as you’re gonna get.”
I feel a little bad that this is my favorite quote from that episode.
When do you think update will come to remove Superheroes?
Not sure at this point. Thought it would have hit by now…perhaps they’re having a hold up with the App stores? Hopefully soon…
Hopefully lol can’t wait to remove it! I never got bored right up to after I got Radioactive Man. Now I am bored haha
lol I’m ready too…I miss Homer running from the Giant Finger…
My guess would be in 6 days _ hrs _ mins when the timers for the beach house, radstation air fortress, and bartcave expire.
I’ll let you tell me how that name was chosen! Been bugging me since i saw it introduced to the game! LOL
