SIDESHOW EVENT IS IN THE GAME!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! This makes me SOOOOOOOOOooooo happy. You have no idea how happy. To phrase Alissa, “Bunny is gonna pee her pants!” Lol
Now… for the fun stuff. Very similar to the Daily Task Elf Tunnels from Christmas as well as a mix of the Daily Tasks for Number One in Stonecutters, looks like EA found something they like. CECIL’S DAILY TASKS.
Just as in past Events. Each day you will have a limited amount of time to complete FOUR tasks to collect items you will need for the Event along with special surprises.
We of course will be here to help you out. So let’s get started.
HOW LONG ARE THE DAILY TASKS?
This will vary each day. To start out today (4-14-15), the task times were as follows….
1HR/1HR/1HR/4HRS.
FYI, these are NOT the kind of tasks you have to finish each day for some extra prize on the last day of Event. These are only “Bonus” tasks to earn extra needed Materials for Event. You do NOT have to finish them everyday. So if you get them all… awesome. If not, see how your luck is the next day.
WHERE ARE THE DAILY TASKS LOCATED?
You can find them two different ways…
Cecil Terwilliger, by tapping on the Hard Hat Icon Bubble above his head. 
Sideshow Bob Knife Trophy in the lower right of your game screen. This will take you to the Main Event Menu. Tap on the Cecil Terwilliger in a Hard Hat Icon and the Daily Tasks will show up for you.
HOW DO I COMPLETE THE DAILY TASKS?
Each day 4 Daily Tasks will be there for you to complete. Each task will ask you to send One Character from a specific Character Group to complete the Daily Task. You will NOT know what the next of the 4 tasks is until you complete the one before it. So you will have to go in order. What YOU see will vary from you neighbors. The main trick is to keep at least ONE of the Characters from each Character Group free to complete the task.
To find out WHO you have available for the task, just tap on “Do It”.
You will then be taken to a pop up screen (similar to Town Hall) but this will show only the Characters in your game in the Specific Character Group for the task. This one is Seniors. Just find one available and tap on “Go To” to start them on their task. (You may have to switch their skin if they are in the wrong one.)
UPDATE: As many of you are asking, here is my picks of Characters to keep free to cover the Daily Tasks. Yours selection may vary, but this will give you an idea of how to have ONE Character cover multiple options. Choose YOURS depending on who you have unlocked in the game. 😉

The timer is set to YOUR time zone. It will end on YOUR time. For instance, I am writing this right now at 1:27PM and it is telling me I have 10hrs 33 mins left. So, I have til Midnight MY TIME to complete the tasks. So watch YOUR countdown to know how long YOU have to get them done.

As with most events, I try to send limited time characters on event and quest tasks when I can. It keeps a lot free and lets me use them up. Plus, the chance at premium payout is a nice incentive lol

Corn hasn’t unlocked yet? What do you mean? You earn corn through cecil’s daily tasks before you get the from character tasks. We can help you, but you need to be more specific. If you’re getting fertilizer you’re getting corn too.
Not true. I finally learned from this article that you have to do the third daily task to get corn. I guess i haven’t ever done a third task yet, so I came here because I was frustrated by trying to figure out how to get corn.
So the answer is that the corn isn’t locked, you just need to do more of Cecil’s daily tasks.

PLEASE HELP?! I have no idea what is going on I did the update and was introduced to Peter toilet jur for a minute the last I saw him he was asking permission of Springfield hers to stay in town.that’s the last I saw him I went into the civic building Capitol building whatever you call it and he’s not appearing there and there’s nothing else on my game to indicate that he or any other event is happening please help me because I have no idea what to do I’m at level 51 and this is the first time anything weird has happened
Cecil will not appear in townhall. He’s not a character, yet. If you’ve completed the make amends task (and cleared it) you’ll need Lisa free for part 2. The full questline rundown can be found here

No, you don’t have to. But if you’re a high level with a lot of characters there’s benefits to upgrading. ie more characters will help you earn fertilizer and corn. More details are here

I have 2 questions – I am not finding this very fun at the moment. 1) How do you know which characters are needed each day as I am having to leave everyone hanging around until I see the next quest. 2) What are our neighbors good for at the moment? I am behind according to the calendar yet not finding any way to catch up at the moment.

If you have one ahead of you now, they can still drop you off seedlings to help. At first it’s a bit slow, but you’ll really need them as time passes.
Your suggestion of characters from the different groups whom we should keep free is so useful- Thank you! Will definitely save me time being able to set most characters off on longer tasks and the core ones needed for the event on shorter ones. My thanks again, liking the event so far but really itching to get to the neighbour interaction stage.

Okay I started my little task list late in the day Wednesday. Apparently I must’ve goofed and got sent back to the beginning. But my times were 1,1,2,1. I’m on a new set again with a one hour task, I have 100 fertilizer and pretty much no progress. So am I correct in assuming I have been sent back to square one?
It varies daily.
I updated a day late, so I missed yesterday’s tasks, and it looked like I wouldn’t have enough time to complete all of today’s tasks too. Total bummer.
But! 🙂 … I changed the time zone on my device to Honolulu. (I’m actually in New York.) And now, instead of having about 3 hours left to complete my tasks, I have about 9 hours to finish them. Yay! Day two salvaged.
If midnight is approaching too quickly, quit your game, go to your device’s settings and change your time settings to a location that’s several hours behind wherever you’re at.

Just started the event tonight. Now I can’t visit friends. It keeps dropping me out of the game. Anyone else having this problem?
Check your connection and memory. Those are two main factors with crashing.
Device getting too full or too many competing apps to keep it stable. Just running this app only helps.
Weak or unstable signal makes it difficult too.
First day in the event and finished all 4 daily tasks hours ago, yet Cecil’s Redemption Pt. 4 won’t complete. I tried logging out and back in and switching to Krustyland hoping it would trigger, but nothing yet. Anyone else having this issue?
It happens sometimes. Fortunately it’s not required to continue, just annoying. You can try contacting EA let them know and see if they can go in and clear it.

While Brockman, Chalmers, and the Judge might qualify as “seniors” using the ridiculously young AARP definition (50+), I don’t see any way that Ned belongs in that group…I never imagined him to be older than his 40s.
(I know that some folks might be reading this and thinking, “wow, how nitpicky!” but I’m guessing it’s not folks in their early-to-mid 50s, like yours truly… 😉 I’m having a hard enough time thinking of myself as “middle-aged,” but I’m definitely NOT ready to consider myself a “senior citizen” yet! (Not that there’s anything wrong with that for those who have “earned” that distinction…) )
Ned is actually 60. It was in the Viva Ned Flanders episode that they talked about it (at least that’s the one I remember off hand).

Don’t apologise for vandalising, my rating never drops and even if it did, it doesn’t bother me as I don’t notice the difference in bonus much When it has went to 1 star. It’s all part of the game.
My town is still growing so I know it can be difficult to find stuff to click on so I expect my buildings to be clicked on as it’s only fair on my neighbours.

Look at YOUR game. It will tell you each day how long you have. Looks to be Midnight YOUR time. But look and see if yours differs.

I know the tasks and who goes on them changes but will the times be the same for everyone. For instance yesterday for me it was also 1hr/1hr/1hr/4hrs, as listed in the post. Do you know in advance from the files how long the daily tasks will be in advance or do you only find out that day? Or do the times differ for everyone? If there is anyway you could post the times of the tasks, I think it would be helpful and I would appreciate it. I know it’s crazy but during events I try to plan things around when I have to tap. All the life of an addict. Thamk and have fun.
As I did this morning, each morning at 12am EST… I will post the daily times I see. Today was odd as it seemed to repeat yesterday in several games for me, but in others did the times for today. So just keep an eye on the site and we will have them up once verified. It is hard to plan these in advance as the tasks all very. Just keep the main Characters free that can cover pretty much ANY task and you are good to go as it just takes one. 😉
Ok confession time…I am an addict I speeded up the tasks today and wasted precious donuts to do so! I feel guilt and annoyance at myself as well as my android phone for making me wait for the update. I also feel stoopid …so I went and found a rake to stand on and felt alot better.

Your neighbors might not be at that point yet. For them to run around your town you’ll need your neighbors to leave them. UNLESS you’re talking about mutant veggies…two different things. You won’t see mutant veggies until you’ve completed Chaos She-ory Pt. 1

I stored Moe’s tavern to set someone free to do the third task & now moe & the tavern are missing.Have you any idea how to get them back please?
Check your entire inventory. Try the character tab see if it’s listed there. If not go for the full inventory overview..which is what’s there right when you hit the storage box.
Father Sean is also a Saint. He got picked when I did a task.
I’m not seeing the hardhat. I had all the citizens do the one-hour vote and they decided to run Cecil out of town, but nothing has happened since then. Could it be a glitch?
