FYI… If you did NOT complete a task from the prior day, it rolls over to be the FIRST task of the next day. You will lose the higher payout. So finish them BEFORE the reset or you will have it become the next day’s task.
How are your daily tasks coming along? Getting them done? Visiting Neighbors yet? How is your Materials coming along? Corn, Fertilizer, and Spades? What do you think of the top 5? Let us know.

Hi, i’m new on the game and I couldn’t unlock the pet mutant tomato in time! Do you know if if there’s another way i can buy or unlock it?
Should be in your craftables menu. If you don’t see it, contact EA and let them know.
What about krusty he’s high roller celebrity kook and well last one I forgot
How are my neighbours who take part in the event able to collect from my houses, yet I can’t collect from theirs?
They may not be updated and you are.
They all take part in the event, as I visit every friend daily and can only tap their plants
Just because you can tap their veggies doesn’t mean they’re as far as you. Remember you can’t tap veggies in someone’s town until you’ve upgraded Monsarno to Level 3 and completed the tasks. So it could just mean that they haven’t upgraded. There’s no requirement to participate in the event once you’ve downloaded the terwilliger event. So they could just be playing as normal, and no participating in the event.
On your end you’ll be able to tap things in their town as long as they’ve downloaded the terwilliger event, it doesn’t matter where in the event they are for you to participate in tapping things in their town. Make sense?
Let me try to explain this way… what you see when you visit is not what they see while in their game. You may be to the point you can visit and tap on plants, they may not. For instance, they may be in it… but not to Level 3 on Monsarno yet, so when they visit they only can tap houses… no Mutant Veggies. Make sense?
You have to be COMPLETELY unlocked in the event to have the neighbor visit option.
I think the only advantage or gain we can make is not visiting neighbours as spades will change to something else I was considering leaving town full of plants but that didn’t work out when superhero act 3 begun I had stacked criminals the thugs from prison and not cleared the regular crims thinking that when new act begun they would give me the new currency ,
I am purposely leaving my last task tonight un claimed in the hope it gives me a headstart tomoz with new currency? thoughts please …
Not a bad plan….
I noticed that I have been cleaning the brown house very frequently over the last couple of days….. 3/4 of my task are clean the brown house. Weird…
Well it gets pretty messy with all the characters using it to hang out 😉
Be thankful you’re not the one that has to clean Bart’s paintballs off the wall
Can’t post…need toast!
Great advice sandra …
In response to the post from the player called Webmaster –
I can relate to some of your frustrated feelings if I think back to my first event, the last Whacking Day. I started when it was already underway, and didn’t have any Neighbors yet because I was preferring to play anonymously. It was hard seeing so many others, obviously longtime players compared to me, getting ahead so much faster and getting prizes I knew I wouldn’t be able to get. I didn’t have cash flow to get premium anything and my game cash earnings were sparse. But I just tried to accept that I was probably having typical new player frustrations; it was pointless to compare my game progress to other players’ results.
I decided to just stick with it and eventually I hit a point in game play where my earning power increased exponentially and I was glad I’d just stuck it out through the long run.
But part of that was that this particular game content and format really appealed to me. Other games I tried just did not keep me motivated. I suggest you just hang in for a while longer. Events can seem to magnify the limits of being a newer player with fewer buildings and characters, so try to keep that in mind. Good luck! I hope you stay in the game.
I started playing just over 6 months ago (towards the end of Clash of Clones).
The first bit was really frustrating, a lack of cash always seemed to hold me back and I had a mountain of level based tasks to do and for ages it seemed I would never catch up.
But I did, and now cash is very rarely an obstacle for me, and in the bits between events I am wondering what I’m supposed to do, ‘cos there are no quest tasks left. I’m a competitive animal and ‘needed’ to get to the highest level as quickly as I could, now I find myself wishing that I hadn’t.
My advice to new-ish players who are bored/frustrated by this event would be:
1) Ignore your level-based tasks, they will still be there when the event finishes, and in a few months time you’ll appreciate still having tasks to do. It’s not a race.
2) Use the event to stockpile as much cash as you can – the event itself needs very little in-game cash, so it’s a chance to save up and/or invest your cash in more income generating buildings. Event like this should be a big help with that.
3) Yes, you will be at a disadvantage compared to established players during this event, but it really doesn’t take long to catch up. There are many things in the game that are geared to give new players an advantage – mainly the fact that the buildings you need to buy are much cheaper.
4) Just give this event whatever attention you can, you aren’t competing against other players – you’re not even really competing against the event. Just have as much fun as you can.
5) This event is a long one. You won’t get everything, so don’t even try to.
I’m not expecting to be able to craft lots of things either, but I’ll save all of my fertiliser and corn for as long as I can and will then build what I want at the end (“what I want” being limited by “what I can afford”)
6 months really isn’t a long time to be playing a game like this, but after that amount of time you will have caught up – or very close. Don’t get disheartened so soon into the journey, cos it’s a trip worth taking. 😀
Will Monsarno be upgraded with corn and fertilizer again? I’m almost able to craft the market but wondering if I should wait and upgrade Monsarno to a higher level first. Sorry if this is a repeat question. Haven’t caught an answer to this question.
yup it will be needed. However, I do recommend crafting the market as soon as you can, so that’s off your focus and you can focus on the new prizes that will be added.
I will definitely not get the market before act two starts. My current idea is to then spend what ive got on upgrades and hope to catch up in the end once more characters can earn fertilizer and corn.
My A game has 27,736 spades – I have 8,433 fertilizer and 5,093 corn. My B game has almost the same spades but less of the other two. This just doesn’t seem possible that there is so little of fertilizer and corn with so many spades. If there is anyone (including the good folks at EA) who will know if what I’m experiencing is in the realm of “yeah, that could be accurate” it would be this site. You’re expertise is amazing.
And if it’s not right, do you have any suggestions on how to verify and the best way to get with EA to see what might be happening? Thank you in advance!
How many characters do you have that could earn the fertilizer and corn?
The rate from tapping mutant veggies and seedlings…yes it’s spade lopsided because that’s the best way to get spades. For fertilizer and corn the best way is the character tasks. The more characters you have and more frequently you send them, the more you’ll earn.
I have a handful of neighboreenos who still come and tap houses in my Springfield… How have they not advanced far enough in the event to tap mutants? Can you opt-out of events? My husband thought that maybe those neighbors are playing on devices that can’t update, but they are all high level players, like level 50+. I’ve only been playing a couple months so sorry if this is an obvious question
They’re probably updated to the newest event, but not past Level 3 on Monsarno. That’s one way you could “opt out” of the event
Thank you Alissa. I’ll let her know :).
Normally with events with crafting I’m way ahead and able to craft multiples of items. This time, I see some are close to crafting the market and I’m not even close. It makes me think I’m doing something wrong. I do all the tasks everyday, only once did my town get full of plants. I tap and rotate characters throughout the day and night.
I know crafting is a long term goal. I just don’t get why I don’t have as much fertilizer as some. I’ve gotten plenty of spades though. I’m working on my 3rd bonus round.
Could be the number of characters you have. The more characters the better advantage you have.
It seems unfair, it benefits old players who has more characters. I’m being discriminated because I arrived recently in the city? EA does not want me here? Disappointed …
No, it just benefits those who have unlocked a lot of players. Doesn’t matter if you’ve been playing for 6 months or 2 years…if you’re at a higher level in TSTO you’re going to have more characters unlocked. Characters that produce fertilizer and corn. Just like if you buy premium characters, you’re going to have more characters unlocked.
The game and this event are completely playable without being at a high level, however it just may take you longer to accomplish the crafting goals. But they’re not out of reach.
It makes sense if everyone is at maximum level. However, new players start (obviously) at the lower level. Free characters are unlocked as I increase my level. I’m at level 37, I have less characters than those in level 51. So, yes, I’m being harmed in some way, IMO.
@Webmaster: I don’t think it’s unfair at all… every player has had to play and tap and work up to the levels they’re at. When I started playing in August I was at a disadvantage in the Clash of Clones, Halloween and Christmas events because I didn’t have all the characters. You just keep playing and eventually you’ll level up and then YOU’LL have the advantage in the next event. BTW, I’m at level 51, have a lot of premium characters and I’m nowhere near getting the farmers market yet even though I play multiple times a day. Patience, grasshopper!!
I have all the basic characters unlocked and a few of the premium ones. I’m at level 51.
Oh well, guess you can’t complain too much about free, lol.
Looking forward to what act 2 has to bring. My alarm will be set.
I’m exactly in the same way. Bored…
Joy I agree with you as a few events ago I would struggle to get stuff done would just about do it in the final hours of the act ending, but since hallowen I worked out a tactic to to keep me ahead and compete things 3 days before end of act currently I need 5000 fertilizer for the market so impossible to get before this act ends ,the crafting in this event is very strange and misleading with to much navigation of menus other events are more straightforward with crafting I think ea want you to use donuts to get farmers market ,even though I love the game this event is annoying and one of the worst that we have had
If not for last years Easter event I would call this the worst event ever. After 4 years of tapping this is the first I just can’t bring myself to continue.
I agree that this event is boring and tedious. I have the strange feeling that this was intended to be a Haloween event that was rejected by the designers, and recycled as a Spring event. Does anyone else feel this way?
How come I always see cecil doing something silly (Or Drinking Wine) on these posts? Do you know his future tasks? Like with his camera.
They’re images from the files, won’t know how they’ll come into play until they’re actually used in the game. For now we’re just having fun mixing it up 🙂
No wonder. It’s like Number 1 from stonecutters.
Act one is about to end, and I haven’t crafted any items because I’ve been saving for the farmer’s market. I still don’t have enough, should I just build the cane field? Will I be able to still collect for the farmer’s market after today? Does the currency change? I saw a post a while ago that mentioned you would address crafting items, but I can’t find any updates about it.
Keep saving for the Farmer’s market, hold off on the Cane field. Post about crafting can be found here

Good morning from NY :)!!! I don’t like to bother you much and just read your post til I find my answer, but my cousin is worried about if she should keep tapping on plants and sending ppl on quests or just let them accumulate for tomorrow.
nope keep doing everything you’ve been doing…you’ll still need fertilizer and corn for act 2. 🙂
I’ll have a post up later today about end of Act 1 preparation.
If you don’t finish act 1 in time can you still get the mutant plant?
Yes, but not as a prize. He’ll become a craftable prize once act 2 starts.
My first task was 4hrs..hopefully I don’t get a 6 hours task later today.
got
1st task 2 hrs
2nd task 1hr
3rd task 4 hrs
4th task 2hrsn
Did any one elce get different?
I got
1st task 2 hrs
2nd task 1hr
3rd task 4 hrs
4th task 2hrs
Did any one elce get different?
I realize you don’t “have” to complete all daily tasks, and it rolls over if you miss one (or two) but aside from the daily bonus, is there any known bonus at the end of it all if you have not missed any daily tasks? As it is, right now I’m staying up til 4am, to try to get my second task in before going to bed, to make it that much easier the next day. TSTO seems to like to give me 4 hour tasks at night.
Nope, no added bonus.
I’m doing the same thing, and I’m TIRED. 😉
To craft or not to craft, that is the question.
I’ve finally saved enough items for the market but with just over 24 hours to go, is it best to wait to see what act 2 brings?
Personally, I think you should craft the market as soon as you can. And then continue to earn fertilizer and corn for act 2. That’s what I did.
Cant help but to wonder what will happen with out corn and feltizer once phase 2 kicks in?! I can craft field and smokehouse but i was hoping to craft market first – what should i do? Cause losing all these hoardings would suck big time
Corn and Fertilizer will stick around for the whole event.
Personally, I suggest doing the farmer’s market first and crafting as soon as you can. Since you never know when something else will start taking up those items. So if you grab it as soon as you can, all the better and one less thing to worry about.
Thank you! 🙂
With Act 1 coming to end, do I need to hoard mutants vegetables and the eggs to transit to Act 2 for a good start. Or are these going away?
You don’t need to hoard mutant veggies, they’ll replenish in your town just like they always have. As far as seeds, they’re sticking around. It’s up to you if you want to hoard them till Act 2 starts or not. Depends on how many spades you have, if you’ve maxed out your prizes I’d wait till Act 2 starts, if not try to get all those prizes before Act 2 starts.
Most days I finish the daily tasks, I have 2 accounts and one day I forgot to put the 3rd task on and had 9 hours to do a 4 he and a 6 he task on one of my accounts then forgot to finish last task in time on other account.
2 and 2 so far.
I have not seen any 6 hour tasks in the last couple of days.
whats with the new cecil pic.
mixing it up 😉
12:30 First task was a 4 hour.
Figures the 2 day streak of matching up finally wasn’t going to last long.
Stuck again with a 4-hour first task for the third day in a row. It should make me get a longer sleep, but I’ve fit into such a pattern lately.
Question regarding ACT 2:
As in-game event updates are often launched at 8AM GMT, but the tasks have been dependant on the players time zone, what is expected to happen for the time of the update on Tuesday morning. Are tasks going to continue as usual?
Tasks will continue as usual, there’s no act 1 to act 2 change for those. As far as Act 2 starting it starts at 0800GMT as usual, for everyone.
My 1st task is 4hr for a youngster
