  1. I forgot my conform % is now 208, gotta love those wailing walls, used a lot in my Halloween area then got idea this morn would be a kick to put them around IRS building (which is in storage till event over).

    • OUUUU I LIKE THAT IDEA!! All the poor souls lost being a slave to the man lol. I hid all my walls except one which I placed in Burns courtyard (of course) so I may just steal that idea!

  2. This is by far the worst Halloween event to date. Boring, preety lame prizes, no neigbour interaction. Too bad.

  3. Hey Everybody! Looks like my word pres is working again, missed everyone.
Bunny I agree with you only difference is a call them good and evil, some aren’t quite evil just mean. Is it so hard to say thank you, hold a door open, help someone who is struggling? I think one big issue is humans have lost their compassion. The real evil ones are a different story, what happened in France is horrifying. My heart breaks for the victims, their families, & the whole country. There also has been a huge problem even in U.S. With people who need mental help getting it, just not available anymore, we need to make this a priority, though very doubtful it will happen!
Anywho I’m done with my soap box…… Least favorite part of this event was lack of blobs especially when we got to act 3. I tap a lot way more than a somewhat sane woman should & still had a hard time getting them😠. Also timing and/or length was long and off. Hard to be excited when Thanksgiving is next week, I know not all that play have Thansgiving, but Halloween has come and gone.
I hope Alissa is doin well!
Also lastly and biggest, is a big thank you to all my awesome neighbors. Couldn’t reach what I did without you! Was also cool to visit and see all the changes everyone made to their towns!
Finally thanks to A, B & W! Especially Alissa putting up with everyone while pregnant!
Take care everyone & stay safe! HH

  4. Once again we near the end of an event with tons of event currency to use, and the only way to use it is to craft one item at a time. Assuming the crafting menu is already on the item you want, this takes five clicks and ten seconds per item. I have over 200 items to craft to use up my currency, so I’m looking at a minimum of 30 minutes… As I’ve said for previous events, it would be nice to have the option to craft multiples (say 10) of an item at once.

  5. Hello, fellow tappers! 🙂

I am level 39 addicted player who just can’t spent more than 2-3 hours without this game. Have to admit, its more addictive than I thought it would be 😀 I’ve been playing it since the beginning of September this year, so about 3 months now. I have maximum number of neighbors, and many of them have Stonecutters building. Is it possible for me to still get it? Looks very cool, and considering how much I love that Simpsons episode, I’m drooling over it every time I see it in someone’s town. 😀

Have another question, Halloween event ends in 1 day, yet Shopkeepers challenge says it’s here for 11 more days. Is that true? I do believe it’s a bug, but have to ask.

Considering I am practically new to this game (as I can see, some of you are playing for 2 years now), how many events per year we get? So far I figured it out we get Halloween, Easter and Christmas. Anything else?

Speaking of Christmas… I am very excited to see how the game will look when this event hits. I love Christmas and I am looking forward seeing it in the game very much. I hope they will start that sometime in the beginning of December. Seems fair to have it weeks before, considering we had Halloween event weeks before the actual Halloween.

    Big greetings to all!!! 🙂

    • The shopkeeper date is a typo.

    • Hello and welcome to the addiction support group! 😋
The Stonecutter buildings were part of an event, so if they do bring them back they’ll definitely cost donuts, and probably a lot unfortunately.
As far as events…I’m trying to think of a number, but it’s usually one every 2 months or so. This year we’ve had 6 or 7 I believe, along with mini week long events and episode tie ins. Combined with level updates it’s pretty hard to be bored.
And for the Christmas event, they add snow to EVERYTHING 😃 and lots of facades with lights for your buildings along with decorations you can buy. They really go all out. It’s a lot of peoples favourite event 😊🎄🎁❄️

      • Thank you so much for this kind and polite answer. I read it with much joy. 😊
Stonecutters buildings are amazing, too bad I won’t be able to get them, because even if they show up again I can’t buy them, because there is no way for me to get donuts (unfortunately).
Christmas in TSTO sounds so nice!! Can’t wait for it! I am curious to see what quests we will get this time.

Again, thanks for your detailed answer.
        Greetings from Freya 😊

        • Awh you’re welcome! I’m very excited for Christmas too, both in the game and irl. This site is a really great resource for the game. Pretty much anything you’re confused on you can find an answer here. Hope you stick around 😊

          • I will 😊 I visit this site every few days since I started playing this game. Really is an awesome resource for anything TSTO, I agree on that 😊
            Thanks for your answer,
            Best wishes,
            Freya 😊

    • I wasn’t playing during the original Stonecutters event, I got my set up when it went on sale I think last January, so it’s possible it might be for sale again someday, you never know for sure.
This year has been chock full of events from EA, in addition to holiday events we’ve had the Superhero, Terwilliger and Tap Ball events plus mini events or sales around other holidays. Last year at Thanksgiving we got skins for Flanders and Lisa as well as (an interactive) decoration(s).
It’s nice to see your enthusiasm. Happy Tapping!

      • I grinned when I read ‘I like your enthusiasm’ 😁😁😁 What can I say, I am 27 year old girl who watches The Simpsons her whole life. Literally. Love this show to my very core. So this game was a lovely surprise for me, I am sad though I discovered it this late. Anyway, Halloween event was great for me because of Shopkeeper’s challenge, I got Hugo, costumes for Lisa, Homer and Mr.Burns, and wailing walls, which I personally enjoy because they make earning money a bit easier. Also, Tenta Corp was lovely too.
        Thanks for your answer! 😊
        Best wishes,
        Freya

  6. I’d like to thank the blog writers as it helped me a lot with act 3. I missed out on the end prize of Act I because of a bit of confusion when I started. This blog helped a lot with that too. I did get all of the remaining prizes.

For those who were bored, I can say, I started this game a week before this year’s TapBall event, so I did enjoy it. I guess it does get repetitive after years though. My only huge complaint was the skeleton issue.

Oddly enough last night I knew I’d never make the 30 skeletons to get the bonuts, so I decided to just leave the game open and grind out Krustyland, which is keeping me from going higher than level 43. (I’ve done nothing with it really). Then suddenly after keeping the game open for about 20 minutes and grinding out Krustyland and SH, skeletons came flooding out of nowhere. I got over 25 flooding into my town.

So there definitely was a glitch there. They must’ve been stored up and waiting to come out. So I got the bonuts. YES!!!!

The bio-hazard walls, were my main item. They look great around the nuclear power plant as well as Frink’s lab if you have it. I will get Frank Grimes, after I save up a bit more, so I am going to use the dead trees and walls to create a little cemetary for him.

    • I have them also around the nuclear power plant.
A real big wall en on the end i put a building so you dont See the faces.

  7. I saw this character in a friend town. It is a muscular red devil with horns. The lower half of his body is in a ring of fire and purple cloud. What is this character? Has it been released before?

  8. Happy Sunday (or what’s left of it), fellow tappers!

    My assorted thoughts right now…

So sad about Paris…don’t know what else to say.

A BIG thanks to the person (I apologize that I can’t remember who) who mentioned the idea of pulling out the collider before buying the crashed bus. I had saved quite a bit of in-game cash during the event, so I spent the 5 donuts to get the 24 hours, and, between that big purchase and a whole bunch of rat trap trucks and sending characters on short duration tasks, I made back WAY more than my initial investment. (I think I’ve *netted* 28 donuts so far…unfortunately, I stupidly collected the cash on my stone cutters lodge last night, realizing my mistake immediate after I tapped it.) And I still have $14M in reserve.

Another observation about the XP meter, vis-a-vis someone else’s post (I’m so bad at remembering who said what here 🙁 …)… Someone said that the XP meter tops out at requiring 10M XP to complete it.. The first time I leveled up today, it went from requiring 9+M to requiring 11+M, so I was a bit miffed that it was going to continue to go up after all. But, what I discovered was way more wonderful…the XP meter actually reset to a way lower number (not sure what, but it was less than 1M), and is now slowly working its way back up. So, the XP meter does top out, but, rather than staying there, it apparently recycles itself! I think that’s why I was able to level up about 11 times for only about $10M (well, that and I already had a bonus multiplier of over 200%, thanks to the wailing walls and tennis courts, primarily).

Speaking of wailing walls…. I was trying to think of where I was gonna put all of them, when I had a small epiphany… Why can’t I replace all of my training walls with wailing walls (except for the ones I used decorative on my Monsarno complex)? What do I care if my righteousness plummets to zero? If I have a 4-star Conform-o-Meter instead of a 5-star one, I’m just losing a 1% bonus, which is less than half the value of one wailing wall!

I’m glad the event is ending soon….I got pretty bored with it towards the end. Gonna miss those free 20 donuts though, for sure! I’ve stopped playing the event now and Gabe only continued to tap and leave the terrors because I don’t want to hurt my neighbours’ game play…. And I think the re-Neducation center is gonna end up in storage when the questline is over.

Had a nice day yesterday – lunch and theater with a friend – but today I’m working (shouldn’t even be taking the time to post this, but…).

Oh, and the Christmas question? Way too soon. I grew up in NYC and the last float in the Macy’s Day Parade (as we called it….for those of you in other countries, it’s the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, which is the most famous Thanksgiving Day parade in the U.S.) is Santa Claus. To my mind, that’s always symbolized that the Christmas season should NOT start until after Thanksgiving. That still leaves almost a month of Christmas commercials, TV specials, etc., which I think is plenty! The fact that they’re now starting with the Christmas commercials by the day after Halloween is very annoying. And I refuse to participate in the whole Black Friday thing – what a zoo! (And I’m not an early-morning person anyway.)

Okay… Time to get back to working…happy tappin’, everyone! 🙂

    • Nice post (one of several today). I was the one to say 10 million. I wonder if your experience will repeat itself. Sounds like a glitch to me. But will keep it in mind.

Do you remember when Santa lost his pants walking from the sleigh to Macy’s? I blinked and missed it until the bloopers came out, but my mother was sitting beside me and didn’t blink.

Technically, the twelve days of Christmas starts on Christmas Day and continue to Epiphany. The tree should not go up until Christmas Eve and Santa’s coat should be green or brown, not Coca-Cola red.

    • That would probably be me who mentioned activating the collider. Glad that you did and got such a good result from it. ☺

  9. I tried posting this last night but not sure if it went through

Does anyone else realize dr hibbert is Ben Carson?

  10. Pretty much can’t play the game anymore. The app closes after about one minute of play. Hope to be able to play after the event is over.

    • Be careful. My game that locked out started doing that and I was out for a LONG time. If you can get in, store as much as you can as fast as you can. Also make more space on your device.

  11. What is the most quests anybody has had? I got up to 20 a few days ago and that’s gotta be near a record.

  12. What is everyone’s thoughts on keeping or getting rid of neighbors?

I have a few neighbors who stopped playing during the event….but because of that it helped me get extra skeletons when EA tried to hose us. I sorta want active neighbors, though. I figure that some of these people may come back, especially right before the next event…but then they might bail again.

Should I get rid of them now? I’ve finished all the event quests and challenges. Now’s the time to trim or not to trim….

    • Those who have been absent for a couple weeks, hide. Inactive players are easy to spot now by their low scores. After the event, hidden neighbours will also be easy to spot on your list. If they come back, unhide them. If they are gone for good, delete. I deleted about 3 inactive players the last few days.

      • I’ve been waiting 3 weeks, but the rest is pretty much as you say.

I deleted one person who had like 3 Ziff mansions and 4 Billionaire Havens…who only had just reached a billion real estate points. (I don’t think it’s possible to have multiples.)

Otherwise, as I said, I kept people during this, and most, events because event currency works different. Always something to click.

I just wasn’t sure if I should have a change of heart since they “helped me out”. lol

    • my feeling on this is…. nobody wants bad neighbors. but this is not real life, where you’re stuck with them until you or they move. if you don’t want to keep someone as a neighbor, for whatever reason, just drop them. maybe you don’t like them vandalizing you all the time when there are plenty of other buildings available to tap, or maybe you don’t like their house farm… heck, maybe you just don’t like the fact that their id starts with zeroes and ones to make sure they are on the top of everybody’s neighbor list. whatever the case may be, i don’t think you should have to feel bad about dropping someone you have no meaningful connection to. thanks to all the active commenters on this site, i now have a good amount of neighbors i WOULD feel bad about dropping, but fortunately i’ve only had one instance where i felt inclined to drop one of them. when it comes to those nameless/faceless/commentless neighbors though, unless they are active and helpful on and off events, they will eventually get replaced by one of the many pending neighbor requests i have.

      • I’m going to second everything tapebelt has said here.
And remember: Sometimes neighbors are just lousy neighbors. It happens. But for the most part, you can find GREAT neighbors on this site. It’s where I’ve found all of my neighbors, and my list is full. I’ve always got around 90% active within every 2-3 days, and on rare occasions, within a week. At least 75% are daily tappers like me.
Some folks make the cutoff for their inactive neighbors one week, some two, etc. I find it best (for me personally) to have it set at 4 weeks, to allow for things like family emergencies, extended vacations, tapped out burn-out, you get the idea), and I still take it on a case by case basis. For example, if I’ve got an inactive neighbor who hasn’t played in 4 weeks, but prior to that was a daily tapper for months, I give them the benefit of the doubt. If I’ve got a neighbor inactive for 4 weeks who, prior to that, was only tapping once a week or so and always vandalizing me, well, I’m sorry, but it’s time for a move. 😉 I find the best approach is whatever makes YOU feel OK about your decision to remove a neighbor. There’s no right or wrong here, as long as you’re being fair and feel good about it.
Happy tapping, and good luck!! 😀
And hi, tapebelt!! 😀 Always good to see you, whether it’s here or Springfield. 🙂

      • Indeed… Another thought is that maybe it’s good to have some bailers ready for the next time EA messes up…

        Eh.

Funny thing, I had one neighbor in the W’s… who left and came back as 1W[rest of name]. I was cool with it, but still intriguing.

    • Like you, I’ve had a few neighbors stop playing during this event but with the lag I’ve experienced I can’t say I blame them for taking a break. Personally I’m going to give them a little time after the event ends to see if they come back. It is nice having active neighbors but as long as I have something to tap (and during this event there is always something) I typically don’t drop. But I don’t think there is a right or wrong for this, just personal opinion.

    • Just wanted to say hi, Simp7fan! I haven’t been around as much on the boards due to (now multiple) family emergencies, and we had a conversation going on another thread a week or two ago, but for the life of me, I can’t find it. Figured I’d say hi so you’d know I wasn’t ignoring your reply. 🙂 Happy tapping!

  13. my bonus is currently at 412.35%. i been trying to recall what it was prior to the craftable tennis courts, but i’m really not sure anymore, and i really don’t feel like going through my town trying to count all the courts and wailing walls i have hidden everywhere. thankfully these wailing walls have a much smaller footprint, so i’ve been able to hide ALL of them behind buildings and stuff. can’t say the same about the tennis courts though, as i still have a bunch of them laid out in my SH area waiting to be “processed”… and that’s really the reason why i didn’t grind harder to craft more courts than i did. other than 4 biohazard towers though, i’ve been dedicating all my zombie brains to wailing walls, cuz you just can’t beat a 5×1 object with a bonus AND a payout (i still think ea messed up and intended for the halloween party wall to be the craftable, and for the wailing wall to be the premium item costing 20 donuts). i must admit i get an unusual amount of pleasure seeing buildings around my town with multiple stacks of cash bouncing above it now, some (like the cracker factory) with as many as 8 additional stacks waiting to be collected.

so yeah, as a player who already had hugo/kodos/ubo, and has played through any previous halloween, i think it’s fair to say that this event was a letdown (and that’s without taking into account all the slowdown it has created). but if i’m honest with myself, would i really trade in this bonus boosting wail of an event for a grindfest like the terwilligers event, which netted me a whole 1 flower wall? hmmmmm…………….. 🐋

  14. came to this open thread just to say how annoyed I am that the prizes for upgrading the campfire are just the same worthless garbage over and over and over again- hedgetentshackhedgetentshackhedgetentshack for like 25 levels. for a game that puts a lot of effort into designing cool characters and buildings I’m a little offended that this is all we get. ok mini-rant over.

    • im just wondering how to get rid of them all, i do not want all these in my storage and i cannot sell them

      • Why can’t they sit in your storage? What’s the issue? I’m curious…

        • there is a maximum number of items that can be in storage, now i have about 1000 new items from this event

          • I had never heard of that. Can someone else confirm? Is this why nuking might lose some items?

          • i’ve never heard of that either… can anyone confirm or deny this? and if it can be confirmed, what is the inventory max??

          • I have never heard of a maximum number of items that can be stir ed, but I do know there’s a maximum number of items that can be shown in the inventory. I remember someone on this blog saying their Toy Workshop went missing from inventory, he/she had looked for it on all tabs, and on the overall list too. It was definitely gone. So he/she contacted EA, who told him/her that the Toy Workshop *was* in the inventory, but that there was this limit I’m talking about of number of items that can be shown. So, this person managed to place some things, sell others, and BAM!, the Toy Workshop reappeared.

      • Agreed! For goodness’ sake – let us sell the crap!!

  15. Christmas ? Not until Christmas Eve please . Up to then , Bah Humbug . Then the traditional ” last minute panic shop”, er , I mean “well thought out and considered present choice shopping” , get stressed , try not to strangle the annoying other shoppers , be pleasant to the shop worker on the till whose VERY stressed and resist the urge to just leave it and naff off down the pub . OR…..
You can do it all on line and let the postie do all the heavy lifting…:)
Oh and that’s MISTER Scrooge to you…. 🙂

  16. I’m especially sad I never got a shot at Boobarella. Was the one Halloween character I was missing. Maybe next year. Right around the time I hit a billion in Springfield Heights.

  17. I was happy with this event. Not stressful, I was able to get all prizes and I picked up the cauldron, witch Marge and costume for Kodos. Kang and Kodos are two of my favorite characters, so I wanted the costume even though it was a splurge for a mostly freemium player. I even have some sprinklies leftover for Christmas. Looking forward to Thanksgiving–I’m hoping there is a short event.

    • i find it kind of pointless to buy stuff just to get the five star, you only get 1% bonus per star and you have to clutter your springfield and spend tons. a couple of wailing walls does more than maxing out your stars lol

      • I had exactly the same thought. I thought maybe I was missing something but I guess not, if others have the same thing going through their minds.

        • I’m looking forward to thanksgiving too really wanted the casino since I started playing in Febuaury and the parade balloons look cool to’!!! Can’t wait 🙂

        • yeah i once went on a tree spending spree, bought hundreds and it only upped my tree hugging a star…i sold them all and realized it wasnt worth it lol…same with gluttony

        • This is why I can’t wrap my brain around the anti-vandalism neighbours. I get it when you’re new to the game and trying to progress, but after a certain point, who cares? Either buy enough training walls to offset the impact, or let it go because just two wailing walls, crafted for free, will make up for being at 0% conform-o-meter. Also, I do not have the time or energy to police every one of my neighbours and if they’re meeting my lofty standards or not. I have a simple rule – if you’ve been awol so long, I actually notice, I track it for about 2 weeks and you’re gone. If you’re completely awol one week into a major event, you’re gone – unless I can still tap things like star spawn in your town, in which case it really depends how busy I am or not. 😉

  18. Serious question…. To get 5🌟 stars on conform-o-meter, what items are needed to improve Vanity, gluttony, & tree hugging the cheapest way in a freemium game ?

    😀 🙂

    • Conform posts are the easiest way to narrow that one down. 🙂

      • I remembered khlav kalash stand for gluttony,……..someone who knows their stats will tell me which trees are best …….any minute now, 🎄 🎄 😘 😘 🙂

        • Best bet are the $385 flowers or the boardwalk potted trees. They offer the best points-to-squares ratio.

          • Better than the (ugly) angel topiary?

            • The angel topiary offers a terrible return on investment, IIRC. Back when I was trying to max out my tree-hugging rating, I looked at an analysis of cost against the return in terms of points and in terms of space (especially since, as a newbie then, space was at a real premium). So, if you think of it in terms of what will cost the least to yield the most points within a given number of spaces, those two were definitely the best. I could place a bunch of those flowers in the same space the topiary takes up and get way more points for way less cash.

    • seriouslee? i figured you of all people would have 5 stars in all categories by now… 😉

      • I have but I can’t remember how, now I’m trying to help someone 🙂

      • Not worth it. Treehugging used to require lots of trees. I am better off having 100 Wailing Walls than 100 trees. Lower item count means faster loading and a faster game.

        • some people actually play this game to design realistic looking towns. i’m not trying to make a wailing wall forest, but you feel free to do that. 🙂

          • And some of us freemium players want to earn enough to someday get all of the canon characters (Duffman, Stu,& esp Barney). By any means necessary. My towns’s gonna take a wailing wall/tennis court hit in order to achieve this silly goal.

          • sounds like you wanna have enough foliage in your town to get that tree hugging rating up to 5 stars then. by any means necessary right? every little bump in xp counts.

          • I would love to do that. I have stored almost all of my decorations so that I have something like a normal operating speed. I am no where near the 4500 limit on items. I would rather play than look good. Perhaps I need to upgrade to a newer device, but for the moment I am just trying to stay in the game.

      • I have 5 stars on all except for vanity and trees… They don’t seem to budge. Even with angel topiaries. I give up until I get more land and can fill the space. (Unless my device can’t handle more items in which case I’m screwed.)

        • Forget the angel topiaries… They gave a terrible return on investment. Go for the $385 flowers and boardwalk trees (the ones in the pots).

Vanity is usually the easiest to max out….surprised that one’s giving you difficulty. Just keep playing…most of the decorations you get just from playing will usually get you there. (Or, you can craft up a mess of whatever gives vanity and then hide the stuff around.)

        • Simp7fan you’re so vain I’ll bet you think this post is about you. Don’t you? Don’t you? 🎶🎶

  19. No baby yet?

  20. Hey all, I’m looking to find who has the biggest % out there, I have about 130% and will probably have close to 150 after I buy the rest of my walls before the event is over but I know that many have much more, so if you could let me know how much that would be great. Thanks.

    • Somebody mentioned 600% the other day 😀 🙂

    • matt-the-lemming

Before this event I had roughly 85%, now I’m at 201.35%. But that said, I’m entirely freemium, so I’d guess the majority of players are higher than that. As to who has the highest (or even what the highest is), there are completists out there who want to have at least one of everything in the game, so they’ll have all the premium items as well. Quite a lot of people are probably closer to 1000 than 500.

    • I’m somewhere around 218%. I’ve been trying to concentrate on getting items that increase my bonus %, rather than money-generating items.

    • john hi i have 524.75%

    • I currently have 638% and hope for at least two more walls before the end of the event. I have 134 Wailing Walls, 38 Spooky Houses, 5 Spooky Walls, and 115 Tennis Courts. Hope that helps.

    • I am currently at 348.45%. I’m hoping to have a bit more before this event ends.

    • I’m at 226.95% and I’m a freemium player. Before SH and Halloween I was at around 40%. I crafted as many tennis courts and wailing walls as I could to raise it to 226.95%. I also have the hidden 150% bonus (XP only) for having all 50 of the SH buildings out. So I’m pretty happy about things now. Though to be honest, I hate how all of the SH buildings and wailing walls have created blight in my town. The SH buildings have also slowed down my game play.

    • hey everyone,
i have been playing TSTO for about a year and a half. over that time u have prob spent about $100. my bonus used to be around 110% but after the tennis courts and now wailing walls my bonus is 355.60%. of course my SH is almost nothing but tennis courts but thats ok cos it lets me perfect my regular springfield and use SH as storage. i also have them hidden behind any big buildings. i am a proud house farmer so since i cant build more houses this really helps. it makes getting money so much quicker. once i have all the aspirational buildings i want, i will put most my courts and my house farms away.
one other thing i want to mention is when level 59 came out, i bought 24 hours of 5x bonus XP and i bought and sold rat trap trucks and i farmed about 55 donuts. i spent about 8 million or so in game cash but those are FREE donuts or as we like to say around here BONUTS. of course i need almost 9 million xp for my next set of bonuts but for using 5 donuts, its not a bad haul. i dont think it would be worth it to get the 5x multiplier for longer than 24 hours depending how much in game cash you have to spend. anyway, its totally worth it when a new level comes out and the XP needed is still low. thanx and have fun.
i cant forget to say good luck to alissa. it would be fun to have a contest where we would have to predict the sex of the baby and how much it will weigh. even if there were no prize, it would be fun. personally, im hoping cos one parent is a yankee fan and the other is a phillies fan, it will be a beautiful, healthy METS fan.
      thanx and have fun.

      • There was a baby contest just like that…look back through the posts a few weeks. Too late to participate, I’d guess (you’d have an unfair advantage on the due date) and too early to see who won (although I’m thinking that announcement could be imminent…)

    • I was asking myself this very same question and I came across this article: http://simpsonstappedout.wikia.com/wiki/User_blog:Bassmech20608/Breaking_1000%25_Bonus,_FINALLY!!!_:-D

It was a fun reading. What can I say… Some people set VERY strange goals for this game, which I think is awesome. But I thought Ryan was crazy enough… 😛

      • Just saw that if you go the user’s profile, he posts some trivia about his game. As of September 2015, his bonus percentage was allegedly 3414.52%.

    • Hi Bryan! I am an elite. I am at 1277.40 %

  21. I got the Re-Neducation Center Friday night and completed the small questline that comes with it. For those that haven’t gotten it yet, be prepared to use up a lot of land on this one. It’s 11×11 in size and very tall. If it wasn’t for the income it produces, it would be in storage. Once more land opens up along the mountain side in Springfield it’s going to join the other large, ugly, buildings/decorations in the upper corner of my town along the moutains. Just my opinion but it’s a large, ugly building that just doesn’t fit well in town. If it wasn’t so tall it might have a chance of being integrated into the main part of my town. Looking forward to seeing what EA does for Thanksgiving. Lisa and Ned are already in their Thanksgiving skins from last year. Once November hits, I go into Thanksgiving mode.

    • Thanks for the info I was curious about that.

    • Ugh, so it does nothing other than open the front door during tasks?!?!? Wow, EA, what a “great” final prize for this event. I was hoping there was more to this final act, so disappointing, what a let down. D:

  22. 4th by 7 minutes but still ahead of you Brooders 💝 👅 🎃 🙂

  23. My prayers go out to those who suffered in Paris. I also pray that all governments will use wisdom in deciding whether to allow refugees into their nation. They used France’s kindness against them. Be careful my friends

    • More complicated than that. Some were native French Muslims. One goal may be to create a fear of refugees so that they are forced to stay in Syria and join IS. The main thing is that we are seeing brainwashing, the same thing as the US ‘Christian’ cults in the 70s, but more sophisticated, that is being used to attack the vulnerable. The Muslims are as much victims as the Christians. The only solution is education so that the propaganda becomes less successful. Violence will not solve the problem, only exacerbate it.

      • I don’t know about elsewhere but our government in the UK has been terribly slow to listen to warnings over the brainwashing. For a long time we’ve had Imams being interviewed on the news, worried about young Muslims being targeted through social media.

Kids can be very susceptible to brainwashing, especially when they’re in high school, it’s such a harsh environment for a lot of them & there are some clever people preying on their vulnerability.

Some young Muslim women now feel nervous if they wear a Hijab, they feel like people are instantly judging them, then they go on social media sites & what appear to be girls their own age are showing them fake pictures & telling them a lot of rubbish about how much better off they are since they ran away to marry someone in IS.

        As a parent, it’s scary.

        • All I can say is my personal thoughts…

When I look around I see HUMANS. I do not see color, race, religion, personal preferences, size, shape, lifestyle, etc. Only HUMANS. To me there are two main kinds of Humans. Good ones and bad ones. My only issues are with the Bad Humans. Be kind to others, be original, be unique, share your thoughts in a kind manner, have kind and courteous discussions as it is okay to disagree as long as you do it in a way that is allowing each to speak their mind without judgement, love each other for what makes us each different and unique. If you are mean and cruel and hateful… move along. I do not care for Bad Humans.

          • I have yet to meet a ‘bad’ human. Everyone is a mixture of good and bad, of joy and pain, etc. What I have met is a lot of people who have made mistakes in thinking for natural reasons, like pain from the past or a failure to understand the situation or consequences, physical or moral. And just because a person has made mistakes, there is no reason to think that they cannot make a positive contribution to the world in the future. One mistake people make is thinking that to be ‘good’, one has to do something to help lots of people, like write a bestseller. Just giving one person a hug at the right time can make a huge difference in the world as people who have been hugged and decided against making the mistake they were contemplating will testify.

            • Sadly, I have. Very very very bad humans. Changed my life and almost made me lose mine. There is pure evil out there in the world and I hope to never cross it again. Otherwise, like you said… most people just had a bad turn in life and need to be turned back to the lighter good side.

          • Had trouble sleeping, heart goes out to the victims & loved ones. Seems to me the biggest debate of this era is liberty vs. security. How can we remain safe while retaining personal freedom? Am I naive to believe that education & compassion can resolve this crisis? Lucky to have a silly game do distract me from these constant tragedies.

  24. Mandy (amandajane797)

Hello Everybody! It is a bit early for Christmas music, decorations etc but I must confess to a little shopping trip yesterday and possibly purchasing one or two (or maybe eight – ten) nice new baubles. Trouble is we are a bit worried about putting the tree up as we have a new basset puppy to join the two we already own…

Anyway, can anyone tell me if there is any point in holding off crafting items until just before the event finishes? I’ve got all the prizes (bit underwhelmed tbh) and wonder if EA might throw a curved ball in just at the end. Thoughts?

PS hope you’ve done as Bunny told you and put your feet up Alissa 😃

    • Not sure if it is true, as it might be selective perception on my part, but it seemed like I got more random brains and eggs when I didn’t craft bones and ears. So I have been holding off on crafting those until Tuesday. Walls and houses get crafted immediately.

    • No lametta, no tinsel & don’t rely on those little hook things to keep the baubles on the tree, you need to use something like garden wire to twist/wire each item to the tree. Make sure to unplug the lights when you’re not around, oh & keep all those holiday foods out of their way.

On the positive side, Bassets look adorable in Santa hats 😀

    • This reminds me of when my golden retriever was just a puppy. He thought the Christmas tree was for his own “personal” use lol

  25. My comments on this event.
Favourite moment: Having plenty of event gift currency (FTs this time) that I could dump on neighbours. I especially enjoyed the ‘cat’ fights I had with one neighbour where we would exchange FTs rapidly until one or the other ran out.
Favourite thing: Wailing walls. Very commercial of me, I know, but they are already yielding bonuts (12 since the last level up) as I meet level goals quickly now, even without the XP Collider.
Favourite new prize: the impossible tower. Will have to store it for the moment until my game picks up speed. I have always enjoyed Escher.
Favourite returning item: Witch Marge skin. Shame there wasn’t a questline. It cost more this year, but plenty of extra donuts to cover the extra cost.

Least favourite moment: Perhaps it was already there, although I do not remember it, but the automatic connection of the movement mode, which is constantly occurring now, making the slowness even more aggravating. Wish there was some way to disconnect it. At least one other person has already complained of this.
Least favourite thing: The Re-Nedification Centre. Huge, low pay-out, ridiculous as the final prize, and nearly impossible, as far as I can see, to coordinate with the rest of Springfield. To me it is the ‘green jug’. Should it be placed in Ned’s backyard? The only good thing is that it will hide tens of wailing walls and can probably hide pretty much anything you want.

Little thing I would have improved: the balloons. I would have made them respond to touch, e.g. to move out of the way and then return to their original position or have them pop and re-inflate.
Big thing I would have changed: Add the event gift currency button to our Springfields so we can see if we have something that needs tapping and how many. (I think someone else has already mentioned this, but it is worth seconding.)

Overall thought: After all of the big events this year like Superheroes, Terwilligers, and Monorail, perhaps this low-key event was compensation for the programmers. One can only hope the Black Friday sale and Christmas return to the old standard.

Final thought: I would like to thank all of the neighbours who made my Wailing Wall collection possible. I tried to repay the favour and then some, but some neighbours were very hard for me to catch at the right moment – sometimes the town was already full, sometimes the player had already left and the FTs went uncollected. I will collect zombies to the bitter end and will tap any FTs sent my way as I play at least every four hours.

    • Well put. I have a question for everybody. I have 3000 snake eggs & was wondering which is a better investment-6 spooky houses or 15 spooky walls? Is .85 XP better than the payout the houses give in the long run?

      • 0.85% is at best two standard incomes. The Spooky Houses are a better deal – better payout and fewer items in SF, but they take up more space and are not very attractive.

      • Spooky walls – they take up a lot less room, can be a useful decoration, and, over time, I think multiplier beats income almost every time.

        • The problem is that this % is too small. I agree that a very small percentage (like 0.75%) at level 59 can equal a decent pay-out. Working on an article on that, but will take a while to write. But even at level 59, 0.05 is just too little to amount to anything. Were the crafting price small, say 50 eggs per wall, then they would be the better deal. But at 200, you are getting too few compared to the house pay-out. I think the idea was that people would craft the wall for looks and ignore the ugly house, hence the 200 egg price.

          • Not really as insignificant as you’d think, because usually when you’re using walls to go around something you use a bunch of them and it does add up. Plus, they’re not that Halloween-y, so they’re good for just “regular” use.

          • I definitely craft the walls because I love decorating with them. They look great with a lot of things that I had previously decorated with cobblestone walls. The multiplier is just a little bit of gravy.

      • Personally I have done a mix with a leaning towards more walls then houses. But if you are looking to do just one or the other then I would go with walls. I think the XP is a much better help and the walls have a significantly smaller footprint. The walls are easier to work into a design or tuck perfectly behind stuff.

        • I appreciate all of your feedback. Think I’m leaning towards houses. On a bit of an OC player-I check in wayyyy too often, so even though they are bigger & uglier, I might get more bang 4 the buck collecting $$ multiple times a day. Thanks again

      • the question is really whether you want that many spooky houses in your town. i have two from last halloween, and built one more for the side quest during this event (before ea removed that requirement), but upon designing my “spooky campground” area, i only kept one spooky house out and put the other two in storage. definitely not interested in a spooky house farm that would take up lots of space.

conversely, spooky walls can easily replace any existing cobblestone walls, or even large hedges if one so chooses, effectively giving existing designs in your town a bonus. i’m not saying this is always desirable, merely that the option exists and could be another reason to go with the spooky walls over the spooky house.

      • A Spooky House is basically a Purple House’s payout in a Blue House’s footprint. Unless you’re already peppering your town with more houses for their income, I’d craft (and hide) the 1×2 Spooky Walls rather than buy/use land for a farm of 4×8 Spooky Houses that you need to collect from every 3 hours.

    • I assume you mean move mode turning on if you hold your finger in place for too long. I agree…that isn’t necessary, and in this event it was a total annoyance.

  26. In all honesty – I almost stopped playing…knowing full well that i am not going to get the re-Nerdification in time…that I am not interested in (yet more) dead trees, balloons, etc… and that the last two items over at Heights are going to take forever + a year to get, I am at the “why bother” stage. Christmas is a good time to go back, but right now, there is no point of playing..as in – activly find the time to go to the game. If I am bored to tears, I may log on, but right now I have no real reason to do so…

  27. Maybe 😀

  28. OK, definitely not Simpsons-related.

“Suggestions on a yummy simple dessert?”

Try a trifle. Custard, cake, fruit. Layers and layers of it all. Looks mighty impressive and just about everyone loves it. And VERY simple to prepare.

    • Have a recipe for your favorite one?

      • Mandy (amandajane797)

Do you get The Great British Bake Off on tv Bunny? Mary Berry has a nice recipe!

      • That’s the best thing about a trifle. You can basically make your own and still call it a proper trifle. My favorite is alternating layers of vanilla custard, thin slabs of pound cake, blueberries, strawberries or any other berries you can find, strawberry jam, and just keep building the layers up, with maybe 12 layers total. Chill overnight.

Top it all off with fresh whipped cream, some sliced berries (and maybe some chocolate shavings if you really need to have chocolate in there somewhere).

Some people prefer to make their trifles “adult”, where they put cognac, sherry or rum on the pound cake. Some sprinkle, others soak. It just depends on how “adult” you want it to be.

My personal fav is a peach melba trifle, using raspberries, sliced peaches and raspberry preserves. “Adult” it with rum of you want, but Framboise liqueur is best.

    • Someone stole my burrito™

Don’t forget the beef and peas.

  29. Hey addicts!! I love what you do on this blog! The amount of work it involves is impressive.
Will you do a poll about the Halloween event? So we can say what we think about this last event and maybe you can transfer the results to EA.
Personnaly i think THOH 2015 was the most boring event to date. Cant wait to see it ends. Hope Xmas event will be better.

Thank you keep on the good work!

    • We will see. It is still going on. Lol. Gotta wait til its actually over. 😉

      • Not speaking for anyone else, but for me felt like it was over before it started. Or at the very least, an afterthought in EA’s mind, with all the premature ending quests, and unreleased returning items.

        • My thoughts… TOO many Events going on now. I think they were trying to compete with the OTHER site that does that and are creating an overkill of content. I do hope they slow back down a bit and really take time to think out Big Events, but not cram too many of them in a year.

          • Have to agree, not sure if you are a fan, but it reminds me of the WWE. At one point of time they were doing a Pay-Per-View every 3-4 months. After a bit, they got greedy and started doing one every month, and not as many were buying after a while because it became overkill/overexposure and not as “special” anymore. Sure, now they have the network, but not certain they are getting the buyers of that they assumed they’d get also. On a TSTO related note however, for me personally its overkill as a whole. Finally finished up Heights, minus a couple blocks of land, finished Money Mountain, although still doing the questline, Monorail every week, all that on top of events, THEN there is level update content. Way too much all at once. Really not sure how the three of you can keep up, especially with one being laid up for a bit.

            • It’s cool they want new content… but there is no reason it has to be one on top of another or while another one is already in progress. My town is so full and so is my storage. I have lots of Donuts, but at times don’t even want to spend them because it is getting TOO much for me at times.

          • Thought I should clarify, I didn’t “like” that its getting too much for you, but more, that I agree :).

          • I thought I was the only one but I also am feeling a bit overwhelmed this year by all the events. It takes so much time, and leaves little time to think things over and re-design. Next to earning money, which is quite time consuming as a freemium player, for instance I am still working on completing the money mountain and saving up to buy new land for placing this events buildings in a way that looks good. Without this site I Would have probably quit playing because you clarify so much! Thanks a lot, greetings from 2fly2high

          • This is why I pushed to get through Money Mountain and SH when they came out instead of taking my time. One or two projects at a time is plenty, five at once is far too much.

          • One solution is also to shorten the length of these long events. Might have to space them out more, too. It just has to feel busy enough, not actually be super busy. That can be accomplished with pacing and some short mini-events (like the tie-ins) in the down time (same as those keep-you-busy bonus quests).

          • I didnt play all events. Just to make sure i dont get rsi 😉

        • I agree that EA has been trying to compete with the other site for some time now. However, I am not sure if the problem is TOO many events now or if the events are just TOO LONG. I am sure EA has found a format that works for them to make money, but I don`t think it is working for most players… What fun is a new level release when it is just pushed off to the side until the current event is over? When we do go back to it we have forgotten what the story line was all about.

Most events have been social interaction related where many neighbor visits were essential to stay ahead of the curve. This past event was just the reverse. Most of my neighbors are veterans and we stopped visiting and dumping meaningless irritations on each other in act 3. There was no point to it as we all had plenty of balloons by then. Or maybe we just lost interest after leveling up our campfires only to fine there was no point to it… Or maybe our attention spans are just shorter then EA`s ambition…

  30. I’m going to miss 20 bonuts every week 🙁
