What a Wookiee Wants: Oh No! More Krustyland ideas!

You know… the little joke in the Maggie questline about Krustyland got me thinking about EA’s forgotten little disaster.

Moe Krustyland TSTO DialogueWhy don’t they do more with it? Is there a way to connect it to regular Springfield without the shuttle so people don’t ignore it? I am an admitted theme park enthusiast and I enjoy going to Krustyland. I’m proud of my designing in KL.

Wookiee Krustyland

Even if you feel like Moe about it, the Sideshow You donuts should be enough of an incentive to pop by. I’ve had some ideas for bringing some TLC to the theme park before and actually had a post idea for months that was delayed by events, school, work, and real life in general.  Then I read some of our addicts discussing it in the SUnday Open Thread this morning and realized I should get off my Duff (pun intended) and finally write the post since I find myself with some free time. Of course, I write on said Duff but anyhoo… here we go-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh………..

TSTO Krustyland visitors main

So I’m randomly watching Simpsons episodes back in October the way I normally do (open Simpsons world… whichever Season pops up gets clicked and then I randomly hit an episode) and what should I happen upon but “I Don’t Wanna Know Why the Caged Bird Sings” (S19:E4). Marge becomes a hostage in a bank robbery at the First Bank of Springfield. She saves the day by convincing Dwight (amazingly voiced by the incomparable Steve Buscemi) to give himself up provided she visits him in the joint. Marge doesn’t live up to the promise so Dwight escapes from the big house and kidnaps her. Don’t worry, this post isn’t intended to be a bummer. I only bring up all this because Dwight has abandonment issues and takes Marge to Plaster Mountain Theme Park because his real mother abandoned him there.

Plaster Mountain Theme Park Simpsons

There’s lot of goodness here that could be incorporated into Krustyland: Dilbert’s Flying Cubicle, a Skyway, Bumper Cars, the Tilt ‘N’ Spew.

Plaster Mountain Theme Park Dilbert's Flying Cubicle Tilt N Spew Simpsons

I giggle at Mr. Frog’s Mild Ride.  As a kiddo, the ride this spoofs was my favorite. I’ve taken my own kiddos.  DOn’t want to spoil the ending of it but when I took my 3-year-old son, at the end he asked where we were.  DIdn’t know what to say so I just said Florida lol. Fun to point out that Krusty was visiting on the same day as Marge’s kidnapping.  I know the designers could find some clever way to incorporate this theme park in a funny questline.

Plaster Mountain Theme Park Mr. Frog's Mild Ride Simpsons

Why not just bring Dwight David Diddlehopper into the game with his beady eyes. A task for him with the Maniac Mirror could be funny.

Plaster Mountain Theme Park Maniac Mirror Simpsons

FedEx Presents: The Bathroom and It’s a Long Line also make me giggle. It should be pretty obvious that this particular amusement park is parodying another famous one that I may or may not work at.  Also some ribbing at SIx Flags expense especially if you’re familiar with Magic Mountain.

Plaster Mountain Theme Park FedEx Presents The Bathroom & It's a Long Line Simpsons

Although Krustyland already has a Viking boat ride, Plaster Mountain has a double one. I think I just want to see a Wiggum task on it.

Plaster Mountain Theme Park Viking Boats Simpsons

So much more cool looking stuff in the backgrounds of these shots.  There’s a fortune teller booth at one point and Quimby winning a monkey at a game of chance. Of course, there’s plenty of other theme parks EA could incorporate into Krustyland. Why not just have Krusty acquire the rights to Duff Gardens from “Selma’s Choice” (S4:E13). The whole questline could involve Howard K. Duff VIII attempting to buy the park or something like that. Lance Murdock is also in the game so this seems like an easy choice. I just really want to see the Home of the Whiplash (not to worry, it was completed in 1994) and the washing machine.

Duff Gardens Whiplash & Washing Machine Simpsons

The Beerquarium, Beeramid, and Duff Beer Hall of Presidents could be fun too. Why not give Abraham Lincoln and George Washington their animatronic equivalents?

Duff Gardens Beerquarium, Beeramid & Duff Beer Hall of Presidents Simpsons

The Little Land of Duff and Duff Light Parade could spruce up our forgotten theme park. You know you want a Lizard Queen task for Lisa.

Duff Gardens Little Land of Duff & Duff Light Parade Simpsons

I think the Barrell Roller rollercoaster would be delightful in our towns and include a fun task for one Bart Simpson.

Duff Gardens Barrel Roll Rollercoaster Simpsons

From experience, theme parks could always use souveneirs and security. Where else to buy beer goggles and Bort license plates?

Duff Gardens Simpsons

Well those are just some of my ideas. Heck, EA could even do something revolving around Ned Flanders reopening Praiseland.  What about Mt. Splashmore?  I’d even like to see as simple a decoration as Krusty’s Crowd Control Barrier (or is is Krowd Kontrol) from “Homie the Clown” (S6:E15).

Krusty's Crowd Control Barrier Simpsons

I’ll stop here but hopefully you can see some of the possibilities. What do you think of the ideas? Got any others you’d like for KL? Sound off in the comments and stay classy like usual. I’m off for another random Simpsons episode. Who knows what inspiration might strike next?

  1. Quick question if I may: if you hit the nuclear option while in KrustyLand, does everything get nuked, or just KrustyLand? Thanks!

  2. I’d the the next THoH to be focused on Krustyland. Focus on when the Itchy and Scratchy robots attacked and the Simpson family had to survive, Update it so more characters can go there, add more rewards for it. Like for so many tickets you get a donuts, so the more you save the more donuts you can get. I just say bring it up to date with how much the game has advance since it was last touched.

  3. Oh man, at first I thought that poster on the security office was Remorseful committing suicide!

  4. I’d been wondering lately if EA would ever do an event for Krustyland. It would be a great opportunity to offer new items, throw in some quest lines and distract us while they work on new levels.

  5. “I’m proud of my designing in KL.”

as well you should be, your kland is freakin awesome! if ea ever decides to include new (and free) content for it, i might get around to updating mine…. haven’t touched its design in probably over a year.

  6. Three quick comments

1st, I only visited Krustyland to accumulate tickets and in a lame hope, win 5 donuts from the dart game. But with 600k in the bank, it’s not worth it.

2nd, Krustyland did have the additional perk of having a different shading under city hall’s character find, “Which For The Love of Homer” I hope one day TSTO will get off their lazy butt and color code the city hall character finder feature a green color for any character that is done with a task.

3rd, I could dump unwanted stuff for reuse.

4th, ( I lied earlier) perhaps have special event items you can purchase or craft would make Krustyland fun again.

Don’t forget when you go to the neighbor screen there is a blank space near Krustyland. My guess it will be for a future expansion.

  7. I can’t believe nobody is asking for Mr. Black!

  8. I want that alien saucer ride and the tunnel of love you have. I started too late to get those.

  9. Let us place all the castle related items in Krustyland, give us new stuff related to what is mentioned in article or give us ability to create stuff in KL such as water, bridges, open up more inventory to KL and perhaps have an event or area (similar to Springfield Heights) related to a major expansion to KL with themes or such since there’s so much room available there. Even the NARA stuff would look good there.

  10. WOW! Your Krustyland is down right AWESOME!!!!!!

  11. I dont know if anyone, knows this…you can also decorate your kustyland with easter trees and fences…fyi.. cheers. 🙂

  12. Problem with KL is if you are freemium you find your limit very soon, Ive got everything I can have without spending donuts and I dont see any reward in spending my few donuts on it. I even created a labyrnth with bushes to put something else, but as I said I cant do anything else. I find more rewarding spending donuts in the city with buldings that also provide characters.

    • Exactly, i am just buying all the land so theres some use of tickets but theres not much content to place there.
Tbh i like that ea is more focusing on town than on kl.

  13. your krustyland is beautiful!!

  14. I want the Tunnel of Love too! I’m so bummed because I missed it last year!! I didn’t realize it was for sale in the Krustyland Menu only. That is when I decided to check this site for helpful hints. I don’t want to miss out on anything again, everyone here does such a great job!

I would love if Krustyland was a part of Springfield but I doubt they would do anything like that 🙁 They would probably add more things to the menu and allow more decorations into Krustyland. I’ve been using the Rainbow, Valentine and Easter trees to fill up the extra space. They fit the colorful theme really nicely. I was also thankful for the green beer fountain from last year’s St. Patrick’s Day. It looks great next to the DUFF Pavillon 🙂 lol

  15. Sorry Wookiee but i gotta do it…

*sings to a tune by Christina Aguilera*

    What a Wookiee wants
    What a Wookiee needs
Whatever makes me happy sets your characters free
And I’m thanking you for knowing exactly
    What a Wookiee wants
    What a Wookiee needs
Whatever keeps me in EA’s games
And I’m thanking you for giving it to me
    Yeah Yeah

  16. Earning tickets is painful. Only the first gift shop and krusty burger earn tickets? Come on.

    • Is that true? I only ever got one of those, didn’t even consider that more could get me more tickets, but you say it wouldn’t have anyways?

      • It’s true. Only the first pays.

      • Yeah, only the first of each building generates the tickets, but there’s also the other buildings I mentioned in another post, and the npc people give tickets also every so many hours.

        • I maxed my stars there so I’d have the highest bonus I could on freemium (and no plans to buy a premium KL item) and to get those ticket holders. Was it mentioned somewhere that the second buildings don’t pay any tickets? In the game or just here on Addicts?

          • Can’t say I’ve read it anywhere, just experienced the fact once I got my KL to 5 stars recently. To do so fremium it takes a few extra of the restaurants, games and such to be built, and I noticed only the original one built generates tickets. Don’t really want to buy into KL real life money myself, but for limited time rides I’d consider some of them, like the Alien ride I was hoping would come back at Halloween, but didn’t…that I know of, didn’t realize the tunnel of love came back last V-Day either.

    • Also SIdeshow You, the Pavillion, the Hotel, the Entrance and the people that visit KL (the NPC people) also earn tickets. Have a feeling I’m forgetting a few things, but its not “just” the gift shop and Krusty Burger.

  17. I want the Tunnel of Love. 🙂

  18. Is it just me or did anyone else toally expect an update today?! Oh well!

  19. During the deep space event, I converted my krusty tickets to two million dollars to harvest for XP. This is first time I am doing such a conversion

  20. Don’t think I’ve ever received donut from slideshow you. I go daily. Yesterday I passed on a 1 donut slide show you task since it would have taken 2 days to complete then got a task just to win 5 heights cell phones…doh

  21. I enjoy collecting tickets in KL twice a day. I also do the balloon popping thing. 30,000 tickets gives you 100,000 in cash in Springfield…it is worth it for the cash.
I also have been waiting for Valentine’s Day to appear. I also would like
Level 60 to drop. In the meantime I am working on gathering more rail for my monorail line.
Love the Blog! Thanks for doing it.

  22. What is seeming like a lifetime of down time, I gave up on ignoring KL and finally updated it to five stars/balls. I also just opened all of the expandable land to S.H.

    1. I want Characters (not one hit wonder characters with a small exception to Fan Favorite episodes, but even then, getting tired of not getting the Big Requested Multiepisode characters). Besides Rabbi K and Miss Pennycandy I can’t think of any Krusty related/themed characters I really want. Actually regarding Krustyland characters the No-Brainer (because they scooped it out and chopped it to bits) is ITCHY and SCRATCHY (cartoon characters come to life, not Mascots)

    2. I want Events. Itchy and Scratchy Land, Praiseland, unrelated to this post Monkey Event (but you already know that) :p

    3. For the sake of speed and visual glitches I wouldn’t like to lose a seperate land from Springfeild, honestly I can imagine a few more transport-to-(fill in the blank)-Lands (not sure if that takes up more or less memory). Being able to transfer all items from one place to another would be great (imagine Sideshow You in regular Springfield, and all the junk or S.H. Items in Krustyland, not to mention a Monorail in KL)

    4. I would like the idea of classic I&S sequences (Elvis shooting TV, Moon dragged to Earth by rolling tongue) like little stage set peices, that you can tap and watch the animation over and over (Sorry Todd and other animators, if EA uses this idea. But it would be awesome) 🙂 -while at it a Simpsons’ Living Room/Couch Gag set.

    5. perhaps my feelings are tainted do to the point that I personally am not a fan of amusement parks (so much that I can make a post about it, but I won’t) :p

  23. I only visit kl because lee goes there on his neighbour visits lol ♡

Be nice to have it on an island within the game and mix and match other bits and bobs in…perhaps the other side of sh?

  24. I believe if EA were to do MORE with KL, then people world have a better attitude towards it. Give us some real events for KL. MAKE it interesting. Right now, its a forgotten piece of TSTO that is briefly used during OTHER events. I think it would be a FRESH change of pace. 😉

    • I kinda like the idea, but since my KL bonus multiplier is the base 5% from the KL conformometer and my Springfield multiplier is ridiculously more than that, I’d prefer to earn my XP in town when possible.

      • That’s a good point. That our bonus multiplier is divided, yet when we make money in KL it is at a lower value than in SF. That should be fixed. It doesn’t make sense after you get the conversion thingy.

        • Agreed. I think if they did start to use KL more, EA will probably address the money thing. Not only the multiplier, but also the fact that KL uses Tickets instead of Money.

  25. First let me say I’m loving all of these Wookie posts lately! Secondly, I’m with you. I worked hard on my K-land and visit every day. I would really love some new stuff, maybe a small K-land quest line here and there. What would be super would be if EA made it so a bunch of the stuff we have could go there. The fortress of lonlitude, death mountain and elfcot just to name a few.

    • I locked him back up in the attic and told him he’s not allowed to come out until he writes posts about everything in his head… 😉

      • With Bunny in the basement and Wookiee in the attic, where do you store your *stuff*?!?

        • The garage….also why we’re looking for a new house lol

Funny thing though…we actually don’t use our attic for anything. It’s not easy to get into, the stairs are right over the basement stairs, not exactly my idea of safe. So went don’t keep anything up there…plenty of room for wookiee and his cheetos 😉

          • We had an attic in our old house and never used it either. It was literally a hole in the ceiling of the spare room. The only way you could get in was a ladder and it wasn’t even a finished attic. My dad just filled it with insulation snd nailed it shut lol.

  26. I visit krustyland every time i play but not specifically to collect tickets. i use it to force my game to sync with the servers to avoid losing progress, and since my krustyland is nice and compact i do a quick pass and play sideshow you if its ready

  27. I hope krustyland stays dead, but id like to be able to dumb all the stuff i dont need in springfield.

Bring me more SH content tho!

  28. Regarding Krustyland: I don’t hate it; I don’t love it.

Personally, I’d love to see Itchy & Scratchy Land buy out KL and give us an event with evil robots and such. Of course, they’d have to move it to an island, which I don’t think is a bad idea.

I’ve “finished” KL, but haven’t really been inspired. Everything’s in there, but I’m using less than half the space that’s there. Ah, well.

    • I like the thought that KL would be replaced at the end of each questline with another theme park. I don’t know if you’d have to nuke before you continue, but it sounds like fun. How many parks can that shuttle go to? 😀 😀 😀

  29. BraveElfgirl1994

Can’t wait for Valentines update, was hoping that it would be here by now. I’m disappointed

  30. I was hoping you were expanding on your shuttle-less Krustyland, Wookiee. So, let’s have a brainstorm and then send this off to EA. 😉

There’s the obvious thing to include the expansion directly into Springfield. I had thought they couldn’t do that but then came SH and a lot of strips of land in SF. So I’m guessing that they actually can. I’m just not sure I’d want that, since it is supposed to be off somewhere else, right?

Can they just make the shuttle quicker?? On my screen it says “syncing”, every time. What is that? I figured some of the loading time is to actually load the land, but this syncing sounds like one of those protections EA puts in to stop hackers (that does not stop them). Let’s get rid of that and we’ll shave off some time. It should be, at most, 6 seconds to jump between lands. (A six second task being the shortest one in the game, something we can consider to be “quick”.)

I don’t see any other alternative setups for integrating KL. Either next to SF and SH or via shuttle, yes? (My creativity may be failing me. 🙁 )

Now let’s continue on to fixing our interest. Obviously having more events and items goes without saying. One reason I don’t always go to KL is that I forget to check it. The shuttle, which is hard to find in a neighbor town btw, is not standing out the way those build icons are on top of SH buildings or the dog on top of the race track do. EA should put an icon atop the shuttle, a simple thumbs up would work, to indicate that a job has been completed. Maybe another icon to indicate that jobs are available there (but one that disappears when there’s no one available to go. let’s not have a repeat of the bounce house!). Oh, animate that shuttle, with exhaust, to indicate it’s ready to go to KL!! Light up the backboard (which I know is only available for 3 to 5 star towns) for whatever reason, pick one. 🙂

To include the sound of wishes being wished, I mean, to include the long requested ideas, allow us to place nearly every item over there. I think that all decorations (except those that come with characters (like the treehouse or the rocket car)) should be an automatic. I wouldn’t say every building, since houses would be weird there, but the Wax Museum seems okay (but would be taken away from the Maggie game), Lard Lad, all kinds of buildings.

Maybe an expansion to allow river/stream (they do have water at these parks, I swear) just like in SF. The monorail, too! If they give us our options we’ll find things to do there because we want to not just because of a questline forces us.

I dunno what else at the moment as I’m getting tired. I haven’t thought too much about KL (and that’s a problem, EA) just whenever I go (for a single second) and whenever people talk. Feedback?

    • “Syncing” is pretty much bringing your game and the server to the same “level”. Like you know how some people say they earned donuts and they disappeared ? Or that they had a level up and the next time they go back in the game they are back at a lower level ? That is mostly because they didn’t let their game and the server “sync up” properly.
That is why every time I update or earn donuts or buy something important, I make sure to go either to krustyland or to my friendslist and return to my springfield. Like force the game to show the “syncing” message, because then I can close the game and not worry that something messes up.

And that is the reason that the syncing can’t be deleted and has not much to do with hackers 🙂

      • I don’t know how right you are. I’ve read some things that indicated that by disabling the syncing these “hackers” could play their hacked games without being found by EA. My point in telling you, is that they appear to be playing their games online but without this extra check. Maybe the reason things get lost in the “syncing” is because the check that is performed is interrupted as some point and the error correction is to lose your items. I doubt I’m explaining it well, because I don’t use any of those “hacking” “things”, it’s just what I read one time and my own guess.

I do understand the concept of “syncing”, but maybe it isn’t exactly what it is labeled as being. We don’t know, just trusting EA. (In which I’m not gonna say I “trust” them, or at least not their customer service people.)

    • I’d like to second your notion to allow a monorail in KL! I have two in SH but I don’t want Tetanus Terminal in my SF or SH. It just sits there looking lame with no tracks. I think the TT would go perfect in KL just like you find at other amusement parks 🚝
