Should I Spend Donuts On the Nature Bundle?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Gil’s back in Springfield!  This time he’s peddling premium items with a rebate.  Some old and some are new, but all are offered at a discount!  So bust open those piggy banks because Gil’s tempting us all with this deal.

Of course with that limited-time label it can be tempting to buy everything because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Nature Bundle to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding things tree-hugging bundle to your town.

Pros
-A really good value for what you get.
-Comes with a quest line
-Greenhouse is a unique looking building in Springfield, goes well with a lot of designs
-At the conclusion of the questline you’ll earn a free SLH Topiary
-Animated when in use.
-Willie has a 6hr task here to Work with Fierce Diligence (earns $350, 90xp)

Cons
-After the questline no characters interact with the Greenhouse Thanks to Torin8337 for correcting me on this!
-Beyond the Greenhouse a lot of items you may already have.  Really who needs that many Kodos and Kang Topiaries?

Final Thought:
Premium:
Buy it.  It’s probably the best return for bonus % and income you’ll get for 100 donuts.  It doesn’t come with a character, but it’s still a great value.

Freemium:
In my opinion, I know it doesn’t come with a value, but this is a great buy for freemium players.  It’ll help you boost your conform-o-meter bonus %.  It comes with a lot of great decorations for Springfield, that you most likely don’t have because they’re premium.  And the greenhouse looks really, really cool.  So for me, this is a freemium buy.
Of course I will caution you…don’t burn all of your donuts on this.  EA has been known to do these sales right before an event hits.  So spend wisely…

Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would/wouldn’t do.  And I can tell you I grabbed this one. Whatever you decide just make sure you do it before the house leaves our games on April 19th…or you might miss out on this one.

Here a look at the initial dialogue that pops up when you buy the bundle, as well as the Turbo Tappin’ version of the walkthrough…

Lisa: Wow, a greenhouse!  Finally after three years of non-stop urban sprawl, someone has come to their senses.
Blue Haired Lawyer: Indeed, Electronic Arts HAS come to their senses and finally taken advantage of the tax write-off for “green-friendly” games.
Homer: Ewwwww!  What the heck?  This donut tastes like crap!
BHL: Also the frosting on all Tapped Out donuts will now be made from ethanol.

  1. The “green”house led me to listening to Papadosio. And I don’t hate it.

  2. I was on the edge of getting it and I mean on the edge. So close to the point if I didn’t fall asleep when I did last night I would have bought it. I’m glad I did because time reminded me it’s just and a building and decorations and I’d rather spend donuts on possible characters in the next event.

    • Yeah, I’m on the edge of getting it, too. It’s a very pretty building. I’m not super worried about getting a new character…but, something interesting like the space coyote maybe. So, I’ll be on edge until the last day, probably.

  3. I snapped this up as soon as I saw it and put it in Springfield Heights. I never did get any fruit trees from the mystery boxes and a 7% increase for 100 sprinkles was irresistible. Bye bye bonuts!

  4. I’m so on the fence with this one. I’d like to have the butterfly tent and the greenhouse, but, while the trees might be nice, I don’t know where I’d put them (without some major redesigning). The rest if the stuff I don’t really need or want particularly, and my bonus multiplier is already around 249%.

So, here’s why I’m in the fence, given that info… Normally, the butterfly tent is 30 donuts, which makes the greenhouse essentially 70 donuts for me, which is more than I’m usually willing to pay for a building that doesn’t fill in a task gap for a character. I know that there’s a bunch of other stuff included in greenhouse cost, but, as I said earlier, some of those items I can live without and some, like the topiaries, I almost don’t want at all. But I also don’t know what design challenges I might have ahead and might really be sorry I didn’t get those fruit trees and/or the tree with swing.

I guess I’ll just keep abiding over this for a while longer…

  5. “Should I spend donuts on the nature bundle?”

    YES. 🌳🌳🍩🍩🍩

I always wait a few days to see if my initial “omg I need it!!” reaction fades away but this is going to be a definite buy for me… Tomorrow though, so I have time to set up a little nature area. Although if I end up buying this I may need to buy some more sprinklies…. 🤔

    • Good point about the “omg” feeling. That has already changed my mind on Moe’s. We’ll see where it settles on this.

      • I honestly thought Moe’s house was really ugly and boring looking. It’s not where I would imagine Moe to live so I passed on it. Plus I never use 16hr tasks, ever. The nightmare pile was an instant buy for me as soon as I learned I could send my kids trick or treating. I’ve seen my neighbors kids in costumes for so long and thought I just missed out. I reeeeeally like the greenhouse and kinda wish we could pick and choose what items we want from the bundle. My percentage bonus is pitiful though so I could really use the boost.

  6. I’ll reiterate: it’s more a 340 Donut value! That’s 240 donuts worth of free stuff! 80 just for the Greenhouse, btw. So, only 20 more for everything else!

And I’ll second Alissa’s warning that these kinds of deals may happen suspiciously close to an event — an event they’ve already teased — so it’s coming. Spend carefully.

  7. Is this bundle still worth buying if you don’t have Sanjay yet? Still trying to catch up on my questlines.

  8. As always I neglect the Gill deals. I wish EA would offer a sign which says “No sales at the door!”

  9. Conform-o-meter never decides things for me as I can’t max it out because I have no friends/neighbors. I did always want that butterfly tent, and as many times as that rocket launched it has never brought me one topiary. I’ll probably pick this up tomorrow morning and plop it in Springfield Heights where I have huge patches of land. Thanks for the info!

  10. This is tempting but I might have to pass. I don’t want to be short sprinkles if ea decides to do another deal similar to Barney or Miss Springfield and resort to spending actual $$.

  11. I think Willie has a permanent 6 hour task at the greenhouse.

  12. Tracy - 1ltwoody920

“EA has been known to do these sales right before a big event happens.”

I am soooo tempted, but I already have half a dozen topiary, and some of the fruit trees, it is only the green house that I desire.

But…… A desert event is coming, sometime in the future. And if I spend my pinkies today……I won’t have them tomorrow. And I’ll have to spend my hard earned US dollars to purchase game stuff.

  13. Also, The 300 donut Whale has a 7% bonus as well, so isn’t it a 300 donut value? 😋 🍩🍩🍩

  14. I can’t decide whether to save my donuts or to use all of them at once on these items:
    Forgotten Grave
    Greenhouse bundle
    Mr sparkle billboard
    Homers ballet
I have 320 donuts and I’ve gotten most of the character combos. Is there anything else I should save up for?

    • If you want the Greenhouse, I personally think it’s a good deal for 100 donuts. Plus The Forgotten Grave and Homer’s Ballet aren’t going anywhere, so you could just buy The Greenhouse and the Billboard, and save the rest of your donuts for The Next Event. 😊

  15. This was an instant buy for us even though we are freemium players. Honestly, we have a HUGE botanical garden around the Botanical Garden Building from the Terwilliger Update and so there’s use for everything … An Orchard with all those apple and orange trees, a topiary garden with all those topiaries from this package and those that are brought back from the rocket … There’s always room for nature!

  16. Is it a bunch of individual pieces? So you can decorate it how you want to?

  17. Bought it right away, I’m a freemium player, but I just loved the greenhouse! I ended up buying my first doughnuts…Hope it wont become a habit, cus I really cant afford it.

    • Oh,,it’s habit forming alright!! I used to be totally freemium but once I started putting a little $$ into it….I find myself doing it more & more. I don’t put crazy amounts in…but I probably spend $10 or so a month on it now. It is,,as they say “life ruining fun”

  18. Plan on getting it, but probably not til the end to make sure I have enough donuts for other things that come up first before the event ends.

  19. Can someone post a link/pic of just the greenhouse? I wish I could see it better…..
Really a good deal in terms of %:donuts….

  20. I bought it. This is my only premium non character purchase, so part of me thinks I should have saved my donuts for a new character instead.
I love the greenhouse, always wanted a butterfly house and I like the trees too, so I’m still pleased with it, I just wonder if something new will be added to the store and I’ll regret spending.

  21. Planning on making an orchard with the plum, apple, orange, Valentine and lemon trees behind the old Simpson farm when they add more land to the east. I really want to put up a forest/farm area there but I need more land!! Been waiting on that ever since THOH when I made my Spooky Grove area.

  22. For me, this is still a pass. It seems to me that if you were an active (and high level) player since at least the 2015 Treehouse of Horror event, then you probably aren’t nearly as concerned about increasing your conform-o-meter bonus, at this point. I collected a crapload of Wailing Walls without spending a single donut, and now my bonus is somewhere around 200%… and chances are, a lot of the players who have been hitting it for longer then me have far higher bonuses than that. Nope… this just isn’t the impulse buy that’s going to take me off of my track to save up for Barney. 😉

    • So funny. I have a HUGE area with my Howard’s Flowers as a garden center that would take four or five screen shots to get everything in. It has anything a Springfielder would want in their yard.
However, the Greenhouse will become a part of the the “tourist attraction” of my Las Springfield when I finally buy the added Springfield Heights land that I’ve neglected.

  23. Long time lurker here… first time commenter! 🙂 Thanks for all you do at the site, very informative! Appreciate the breakdown here of % and conform-o-meter bonus. I’ll admit I’m sorely tempted by this but am going to think for a few more days. I wouldn’t consider myself a Premium player (only bought doughnuts twice), but this certainly seems like a great value. Esp. with doughnuts being easier to come by nowadays. I’ve been saving for Crazy Cat Lady for SOOOO long though! Now I wish I hadn’t bought all those fire hydrants, which I also thought seemed like a good deal for the %. I’m Level 58 now so all my buildings are getting to be quite costly, but I’ve never been one of those players with extra millions laying around (I guess because I started playing after they closed the house farming exploit?). Anyway, I’ve always had trouble maxing out my Conform-o-meter and other % so I could really use this boost! And I agree the greenhouse looks really cool.

    • Welcome!

    • Nope – I have about $85,000,000 lying around (would have a lot more than that, but I turned a lot of money into donuts a couple of times with the collider) and I never had a house farm (because I never wanted one). They were never necessary for success, as long as you could tap a few times a day.

    • If you’ve been wanting Cat Lady, I say go for that. Even though this is limited time, EA has a lot of decorative opportunities. They’ll be back around. Go for the characters that make you happy. 😁

    • How did they “close the house farm exploit?” I’ve never had a house farm, but I see other people with them still…

      • They made the houses become increasingly more expensive to buy the more you had. It doesn’t affect people who built their house farms prior to the change, but now it doesn’t pay to build house farms, because the cost would outweigh the benefit.

        • I should add that the coding change also made the houses more valuable to sell, too, so some folks who had house farms sold them off at a nice profit.

  24. A must buy in my opinion. Not only do I love the greenhouse but the quest is funny, the decorations are very generous and the bonus boost is astounding. I just love the animation wish I could have a task there. And funny you said that about the topiaries. I hid mine behind the acrobat theater just for the bonus.

  25. If you were only going to get one thing, either this bundle or Moe’s house, which would you get? I’ll do whatever you say.*

*I won’t necessarily do whatever you say, but I’m still curious. 🙂

    • Me personally…Moe’s House. I like houses..

      • You were suppose to say the bundle haha. I kind of already decided not to get Moe’s but I’ll probably not get either. I dunno. I’ve got more donuts than I’ve ever had, by hundreds, but I can’t bring myself to spend them. Guess it’s better to hold on to them if nothing really jumps out at me.

        • lol well you’re always better off waiting to see if a limited-time character hits. You just asked what I would do…

          • If he asked you whether he should jump off a bridge would you have told him?

          • I had been considering both but was leaning more towards the bundle. If you had said “the bundle, by far” or something along those lines it would have made my decision easier. I didn’t want to sway you either way with my leanings. 🙂

        • Help me out here, David. The long coveted Mr Sparkle billboard was an instant purchase, but I too am also on the fence with Moe’s house and the nature bundle. While Moe is a Simpson’s icon, and I bought other character homes without hesitation, a hundred donuts for a house that looks so much like the Muntz house? Looks easily forgettable. So, the nature bundle-much more to love for my designing processes- still I already have a lot like it and I suspect a lot more is right there on the event horizon. What say you?

          • I think we’re on the same page here, more or less. Moe’s house, while new, is similar in style to other run-down houses. I don’t have any good ideas for what I’d do with it.

With the bundle I already have two each of the alien topiaries (and the possibility to get more), the bird bath, a few rose bushes, and while I don’t have any apple trees I do have the Valentine’s trees with hearts that kind of look like apples. The butterfly tent doesn’t really interest me and the tree swing wouldn’t really stand out in a design. It basically comes down to the greenhouse, itself.

I think if either, or both, were 50 donuts I’d get them. But for 70, and 100, I’ll pass.

        • “I’ve got more donuts than I’ve ever had, by hundreds, but I can’t bring myself to spend them.”

I’m currently experiencing the same issue. Didn’t think I’d become so proud of my donut hoarding 😮

          • I’m not the only one? I thought most people were more willing to spend now that donuts are more easy to earn. Maybe it’s because I’ve already fulfilled my wish list (Otto, Barney, Luann), maybe I’m just waiting to see what might come next, or maybe nothing has been a must-have, but I’m having a hard time hitting that confirm spend button. 🙂

  26. Yeah, I’m going to buy it. I’ve got 230 donuts and have been waiting on a sale or event. I still want the Akira and Otto, but I think I’ll take the bundle and build my stash back up waiting for the next event.

  27. Bought it for all three towns !!
    Woooooooo

  28. I think it’s a good deal . I always wanted the butterfly tent as I like the episode it was from , but never got it because of the price , but here it seams worth it . Buy buy buy for me . Freemium player ..

  29. Bought it straight away and happy I did. The greenhouse is good, I like it😀

  30. Thanks for the great updates (as usual)! As a Freemium player, I have come to rely on your takes and have turned my son onto your site.

I think the date above is wrong… April 19 is a Tuesday. 🙂
