Wild West 2016 Prize Guide: Act 1, Prize 9

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

The Wild West is alive and well in our Springfields!  As the Wild West Event has hit our games and it’s full of old west inspired decorations, buildings & characters!

This Event is broken up into 3 Acts, with each Act containing part of the story.  To help you move along with the event you’ll get several prizes per Act.  Each prize will either be something fun for Springfield or something to help you move along in the event.  For the First Act you’re tasked with collecting Clues (ico_wildwest_clue_md) to unlock each prize!

The ninth (and final) Act 1 prize  is awarded at 25,580ico_wildwest_clue_md is Wes Doobner & his Rib Hut, because the Old West needs a villain!

So let’s take a closer look at this ninth prize and just what happens when you unlock him in your Springfield…

Once you’ve collected 25,580ico_wildwest_clue_mdyou’ll automatically be awarded Wes & his Rib Hut and you’ll see this message popup:

2016-04-27 19.36.36

As always, you’ll have the option to place or store Wes & the Rib Hut.  Remember if you store it you’ll have to go into your inventory to retrieve it.

You will have to place and build (takes 8hrs) the Rib Hut in order to unlock Wes.  Once you’ve built the Rib Hut and Wes arrives in Springfield you’ll see his character unlock message:

2016-04-27 19.37.08

And he’s part of the Old West Villains Character Collection:

2016-04-27 19.37.12

Wes comes with his own questline, and it’ll start right up for you.  This is one you can work on, until you need a character for currency in the Town Plaza.  (unless of course you’ve completed Act 1 and are waiting on Act 2 to start..)

Here’s a look at the Turbo Tappin’ version of his questline…

Patience.  That’s what’s on the menu now.  Patience.  There are no bonuts for this Event, so there’s no need to go crazy handing in clues.  (we covered this here) So just have patience in waiting for Act 2 to start up.  🙂

After you’ve unlocked Wes, here’s what you need to do….each day (until Act 1 is over) you’ll need to complete 4 hand ins at the General Store in order to unlock each days prize.  (remember Day 14 is bonuts!)  So, just do the smallest possible hand in you can do to unlock the prize.

After you’ve unlocked the prize for the day, there is no point in continuing to earn clues (i.e. trading in items at the General Store).  So save those resources, pick axes and hats.  I’m not 100% sure they’ll be around in Act 2, but it does not hurt to save them, just in case.  (especially since there’s no bonuts)

So, bottom-line?  After you’ve unlocked all of the Act 1 prizes, trade in 4 sets of resources (the smallest value) each day to unlock the General Store Prize.  After that hoard your resources (Pickaxes and hats) until Act 2 starts up on Tuesday.

So that my friends is the full breakdown of the final Act 1 prize!

What do you think of Wes and the Rib Hut? Have you unlocked him yet?  Are you enjoyinh his questline so far?  Which of his tasks is your favorite?  Ready for Act 2?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. hello, i’m still new in the game only 3 weeks of experience, actually i have 20056 clues and i dont even now if im going to do it for the rib hut and i dont have sideshow bob…if i buy the donuts i need to unlock the rib hut i can still play with wes doobner? i searched in the site and i dont found anything about this costume topic, shall i spend my money or it’s not worth it?

    • A Costume will sit in storage until you get the actual Character that wears it.

You can get sideshow for free once you hit the right levels of the game.

  2. Crud. I should have read this post a week ago. I am SO far from getting the final prize, even though I’ve been visiting my Springfield multiple times per day. Gah! I must have messed up when trading in for those small daily prizes. 🙁 Oh well, lesson learned.

  3. I’m never going to make it I only have 18,000 and change ;(

  4. I play repeatedly all day every day and I can’t even get to stage with bank etc. I’ve bought the western set and the hideout. I started day 1 of the event. I’m trying desperately to get all stage 1 prizes but I’m only still less than 9000. I’m really disappointed.

    • You must be doing something completely wrong. Are you trading only for the big clue boxes? Are you clearing the bandits and sending out prospectors?

I unlocked Wes today (also started on day 1) without any premium purchases, and I check in on my town every 4 hours if I am awake (so about 4 times a day).

  5. I got few HATS, mas lots of PICKAXES. How do I manage to hand in more pickaxes than hats? It’s getting harder to move to other levels.

    • You have to switch the tasks at town plaza. I alternate…1 pickaxe collection then 2 hats

      • How do you switch the tasks? Is there somewhere specific that you select?

        • For hats/pickaxes? Tap on the Town Plaza you’ll see it say start a craze. Sending Homer to get people Riled Up earns Hats, having Apu sell supplies earns pickaxes. That will change the task list for everyone else..

          • I’ve been getting so many more pickaxes then hats through clearing my town, that I have had the group earning hats for 4 days straight and it seems I’m always about 400 – 1000 more pickaxes.

  6. i got the rib hut today, now at the bottom of the Act 1 Prize screen it says “You’ve got all of these prizes! Keep collecting event currency for more donuts!” Any ideas??

  7. Mine says to ‘keep collecting clues for more donuts’ after I placed the last prize. But there are no bonuts tasks. Isn’t that a bit misleading?

  8. Slightly off topic, and I may have missed this in a previous post, but is anybody else’s Boardwalk characters leaving the boardwalk? I just noticed this today.

    • Yes I saw this too… It’s really annoying!

    • I saw my town from a friend’s game and none of my dirt or dirt roads show up. I was wondering why none off my 100 neighbors have dirt or dirt roads and why people were putting cactus patches on grass.
Wonder if this is a related glitch. Also shredded Ned’s visual tasks have disappeared in my game. Haven’t been keeping up with the blog- just going through now as I am sure someone has probably already mentioned this.

  9. Am I the only one who has prbolem to get all the prices? I played alot but it looks like I will not make the last price (have 16602 so far).

    • Me too, I’m no where near this prize and I play everyday! I don’t know why they made them so much harder to get than in previous events.

    • I play ALOT! and I still won’t make the last prize.
And it also doesn’t help that I don’t get anything for sending the miners into other people’s Springfields.

    • Did you only exchange your pickaxes/hats for big carton(clues) in the store, because the others 2 give you less clues for the same amount of rssources used.

    • Me too. Usually I earn the final prize at least 2-3 days before each act ends. This time, I have just 36 hours left to get Wes Doobner, and I haven’t even gotten to the 400 hats prize yet. And that’s even with Rich Texan helping me out, and by tapping neighbors’ bandits.

The problem is that tapping bandits doesn’t really give you much points (or hats, or pickaxes, or clues) for these prizes. In the past, EA gave you more points per tap.

  10. Another glitch. When I went to play this mooring, my game started right up. I didn’t have to delete any apps, pics or music. What did I do wrong.
Anyway I had no idea this was Sideshow Bob, pleasant surprise skin.

  11. I just finishing building the hut this morning. EA did a good job of slowing this event down for me and kept me tappin’, but I didn’t feel stressed like I wouldn’t get all the prizes. I’m sending Homer on his new tasks while I wait for Act 2. That horse bit is too funny!

  12. Finally, a 1 hour task for Sideshow Bob! I wasn’t going to cough up 7 donuts for a rake…no matter how funny the task might be!

    • Did you get Sideshow Bob during the event last April? During the event, one of the prizes was three free rakes. You might check your inventory. 🙂

  13. No way I’m going to be able to get this one. I have 14024 clues now, which is about 1800 short of item #7 the Bank and Barbar shop.

Not sure what I”m doing wrong as I’m checking my game easily 7 times a day and visiting the max # of neighbors.

    :o(

    • Do you have lots of hats and pickaxes that you should have turned in at the general store ?

      😃

      • Well snap my suspenders… Why thank ye pardner. (trying to keep in the wild west theme). I really should read the instructions more carefully now. I was only using those to trade for the daily prize. I somehow missed that we were supposed to keep trading them. I now have ALL prizes. Thank you so much!

  14. Does anyone know how to get the jail? I love the Wild West and would like to have the jail.

    • Not available at this time. If you saw it in another game, they’re hackers. If you saw it on another site they’re giving spoilers, which we don’t do here…

      • A number of people have reported that a glitch opened items from acts 2 and 3; they didn’t intentionally hack the game. Though I’m sure there are game hackers among our neighbors too, it just doesn’t feel fair for us to assume those whose games glitched were hacking the game. These odd things happen from time to time, like that glitch not long ago where you could replicate items in your game.

        • Because those who reported the next acts starting for them also reported they were unable to unlock any prizes. Just the questline triggered early.

I’m the first one to give the benefit of the doubt..but seeing the comments from those with act 2 starting (no one reported act 3) they all said they could not unlock prizes…

      • I got the jail I think during a crazy glitch where my game cycled thigh a bunch of old quest lines and then showed me part 3 of the current quest line! It was bizarre.

        • You’re the first person to report you got a prize when that glitch hit. Everyone else said their prizes were locked….
So there you go…could be the glitch. In any event it’s not available for the rest of us

        • The same thing happened to my mom. She got the jail around 1:30 this morning at the same time a bunch of past events popped up (these events ranged from ones she recently played to ones that happened before she started playing in February). She shut down her game for about 8 hours, and the past events disappeared. But she still has the jail and is at level 6 of the town plaza and can no longer send people to earn hats and axes (I can’t remember what she’s earning instead). She doesn’t want to report it because she thinks she’ll be ahead for the next act, though I warned her that anything she earns might not carry over.

  15. I have just got Wes. The quest wants the 1500 more clues. Do i hand in the 1500 straight away or do hoard the clues and only hand in the minimum to get the prize of the day? Big thank you!

  16. Anyone purchase the quicksand?
    Any cool animations to it?

    • Yes, amusing animation with a guy in the quicksand and his hat. The vulture is animated too. The rocks we’re getting as prizes have animations if you tap them. I especially like the scorpions.

    • The only animation in the quicksand is the vulture moving

    • A guy’s head disappears under the sand with only his hat left resting on top. The vulture also moves around a bit. Cool if you are building a little wild west or desert area and have the donuts to spend. Would be nice if a whole body was pulled under but still cool.

  17. You can also send the Space Mutant, if you have him, on the tasks that require a Glutton.

  18. I thought Sideshow Bob had huge feet. It was what gave him away when he tried to Frame Krusty and started the whole shenanigans. It would be nice if they kept this canon with him and his skins.

    • He does but Wes Doobner’s appearance fits what is seen in The Simpsons. Picture Bob cramming his ginormo feet into cowboy boots all for the sake of killing El Barto. The episode this is from mentions Bob’s feet actually but for a different reason.

  19. Sorry, a bit vague but doesn’t anyone know roughly how many donuts this costs after the pickaxes? I have been a bit behind and I am now away until Monday. I can connect to the internet, but not my game. I don’t know why but Tapped Out and the TinyCo games just don’t connect with BT routers. I should just about be back in time to get the pickaxes but I am almost certain that I will have to buy this item if I am going to get it and hopefully I can catch up on the daily items. I should have enough donuts, I guess I’ll see what items come out in the next part as I have missed some from previous events when I have been away. The building looks nice and I don’t have loads of donuts so maybe I wouldn’t be able to get new items anyway.

    • The image in the post shows 375 donuts

      • Sorry, I completely missed that. I guess I’ll probably miss this then, unless I can somehow get loads of items and then clues in time. Sorry, and thanks.

        • If the item is still available through resources (meaning act 1 has not expired), the price is usually variable. The more resources you need, the more it costs, and the price decreases as you get closer to the required resources. This is why I would advise that anyone who knows they can’t make a final prize (and may be willing to pay some sprinklies), should still keep grinding like crazy until the last minute possible so that the rush price goes down. They start incredibly high, but become very small and reasonable if you’re almost at the required resources. Hope that helps!

          • I know thanks, but I wasn’t sure as some items have been a reasonable amount even if I needed lots more of the event currency, things like the Tennis Marge skin from Tap Ball was about 300 donuts! I should just about be back in time to get the pickaxes, and then hopefully use some of them to get closer, but given how expensive it looks to be, I may just save them for act 2. Thanks!

  20. I feel like I’m struggling with this one. 3 days left and I two prizes left to get. Ugh. I’ll keep pushing. I’m enjoying building my Wild West town.

    • barleecreations (canid88)

I had fallen behind so what I did was turned in some of my excess resources for the clues I needed. After doing that I caught back up.

  21. What is everyone doing with Prospectors for the rest of the act.. Horde or cash in and lock in the axes and hats?

  22. I would have to say that this is my Favorite Event of this year so far. It’s easy to get the prizes, but it doesn’t drag on either. It’s Magnifique!

  23. A little OT (sorry, Lee…or was it Simp who doesn’t like OT posts?), but it looks like the latest update fixed the missing neighbors glitch…I can see our furry friend again! 🙂

I suggest showing any of your previously missing neighbors a little extra love with the prospectors, since the have to be hurting from not having been able to get any up until now. I sent the big W a few, but left some room for someone else to do likewise.

  24. It’s not dirty linked to this post, but I was doing my neighbour visits, and one of my neighbours had some really cool decorations and buildings in their Wild West area that I haven’t seen before. There was what looked like a Post Office, a livery stable (I think), a cemetery and Carl’s Dads caves. Does anyone know when these were released as am curious. Thanks

  25. I know most people are done already, but I seriously might not get the rib hut! I hope I can get the 400 hats today! I’m training a new person at work so I haven’t been able to check in, had a concert last night, again tonight and Saturday I’ll have a crazy busy day at work. maybe I’ll get close enough that I can spend just a few donuts to pick it up. Life is ruining my game instead of the other way around.

  26. Anybody else not getting prospectors in their towns??

  27. Unlocked it just before bed last night. My daily challenge for the day today was to collect bandits to earn a prize of 60 clues. I was almost done then I was all WAAAAAIT a minute what am I doing lol. This event is so laid back and easy!

  28. Another one of my posts with a bunch of questions for everyone, heh. I just can’t help myself, apparently. So.

Hmmmm. I’ve got Wes and over 4000 each of hats and pickaxes. I kinda miss just doin’ my Simpsons thang. But if currency is sticking around, I suppose I should keep everybody riled up and well-supplied… What are you all doing, neighboreenos?

In the meantime, I do enjoy Wes’ rope tricks. Get it, Sidesho- er, I mean Wes!

On lighting for indicating prospector status – not sure if I should put this here or on the green/yellow/red light post (which very few of my neighboreenos seem to have implemented, unless I am missing something):
I keep getting wonderful drops of 5 or more prospectors from the same person, but often I don’t have enough left to reciprocate in kind, especially if it’s multiple people. I figure there are three ways to proceed – 1) drop as many as you can back to people, hoping they get that you can’t do any more, then give them more when possible, 2) wait till you have enough to reciprocate properly and then go for it, OR 3) add a new system where next to your red/yellow/green light you add another that indicates your prospector status, so friends know what’s up. Something like off for you are completely out, purple if you have some but maybe not enough to get back to everyone right away, and blue if you’re rolling in Prospector goodness. Or the same colors byt for your chosen strategy: off if you want to give one or two to your main contributors, purple if you wait to reciprocate till you have enough, but do manage it eventually, and blue if you’ll send as many as you have at the moment and will try to send more later. I wouldn’t care about seeing them so much, but I’d like to be able to do it in my town because I feel all guilty. 🙁 Anyone down for this? Or is it just too complicated?

AND lastly, do you think a petition to EA might get some thought on their end, and if so, would anyone be interested in signing if I wrote one up asking for there to be a tab on the event info thing that shows you who has dropped prospectors in your town (or the equivalent on future events), and how many since you last played? And maybe how many you’ve sent to any given friend (since if you are like me, sometimes you run out and intend to come back to people but forget whom you’ve gotten to already)? I know I’ve missed a lot due to the glitch where you don’t see the names of who dropped them (Krustland finally started working for me, and I’m seeing people I had not been dropping for at all), and occasionally because I’m chasing one and another runs by too fast, which I then can never seem to find again, of course. If you’d be down to sign off on such a plea, please like my following comment, unless our TSTO addict mods say it’s a bad idea. 🙂

    Happy tapping, everyone!

    • Petition/plea for prospector mercy? Like this comment, pleass!

    • Dagnabit! I just missed at least one more because despite my town having space between everything, I kept accidentally hitting buildings by accident. Maybe there could be something akin to the Maggie game on a smaller scale where nothing else is tappable in the area around prospectors? *grumbles* Sorry, neighboreeno. I tried.

  29. What do you guys think will happen with prospectors? Should we be hording them as well or cash in now…

  30. I’m way off track for getting all the prizes for the first time in I don’t know how long 🙁
I’ve only been able to hand in hats at the general store for 2 days now – anyone else finding this event tougher than usual?

    • Yeah I am usually way ahead and for some reason I am behind in this one. Haven’t missed a day and have made sure to do the most efficient trades. No idea!
