Sorry but after the recent Aliens thing I’m done with events for now. Town square is sooooo Western event all over again. Another town square – big whoop.
Noticed a neat bug if anyone cares. Move the haunted house to the middle of your screen. All the hyenas or whatever will congregate there. Just killed 700 in 5-10 minutes. You need a display that doesn’t time out.
I don’t normally do this but I had to sneak a peek at the upcoming offerings *gasp*, I know. All I’m gonna say is I hope they aren’t going to exclude me from a chance to purchase one of the upcoming bundles because I already own one of the items….cause there is something new that I CANT LIVE WITHOUT!
if it is a brand new item, hopefully the will offer it to buy as a single item..
(As i’m sure others will be in the same position too)

I have taken to doing the same. Although I love the element of surprise, and I respect the position of this site, I am one who is mature enough to understand that things may change – but knowing what is coming up helps me to a) plan and manage my donuts and spending, and (b) plan my design and spacing, especially now that I am finally starting to max out my space. It was never an issue before. And darn it, now I want to know what it is you want so badly! Please answer when it hits the game. 🙂
I sure will! Have you seen the spoilers? Here’s a hint: It comes in a duo with something we got last year…in my town it’s right near the UFP and is decorated with Halloween balloons.
Took me a few tries – your town is so big and I love how you have scattered your decorations into specific areas. But I did figure it out. I hope you don’t get excluded because it comes in bundle only. I can’t imagine for an item like that. I will probably end up passing on that one – but I’m sure it will make a return and me and my donuts will be waiting…..mwa ha ha….

Does anyone out there happen to be playing TSTO with a Blu R1 HD phone? I’m thinking about getting one and want to know if it plays well with TSTO.
I just got that phone about a month ago. Tapped Out runs just fine, though the screen is a little small to do any designing on. I still prefer to play on my tablet, but the phone does in a pinch.
Overall, the R1 is a steal. It’s a lot of phone for the money. I definitely recommend spending the extra ten bucks to double the storage and RAM, especially if you want to play on it. Only caveat is that it only works with two of the four major carriers, so make sure that works for you.
What did you end up getting, Sandra?
I haven’t seen Handsome Hank or Ryan comment for a while. Is everything ok with them? HH visits my town regularly, (thanks if your reading this) so I guess things are ok there. Ryan isn’t a neighbour of mine but I miss his comments.
I’ve had a heart wrenching start to the week. Put in a submission to the VIC Governments Inquiry into services for people with Autism back in April and they asked me to come in and make a presentation. (My 20 yo daughter has Autism) so it meant raking through years of battling for services and sorting out the good from the bad. They asked me if I had ever been OFFERED any services. HAH (Mrs Krabappel voice) never, I said.
Anyway, so glad to be invited to have my say and hopefully my small contribution will help improve things a little.
I’m enjoying this event. It really helps to get straight into it as soon as the event starts.
I didn’t have automatic updates on with the Sci Fi event and ended up behind. Didn’t start till a couple of days into the event.

I wrote above but wanted to thank you for your concern. Last week was crazy with the hurricane that went through. Lots of work preparing, but we were truly blessed and protected I strongly feel by a Guardian Angel that used to live with us. We were right in middle there was one band that was clear near the eye and that is what went over us. We didn’t even loose power! Since the storm was bad everything was shut down tight so ended up with much needed rest for all this past weekend.
I’m glad you finally got some recognition for your daughter. Are there any programs they will offer you now? What a shame children are not helped more. They have so much potential, more than I think the so called experts think, it just needs to be opened. The lil guy I’m helping is speaking more every time I see him. He always knows it’s me with a great big smile and hug (he never used to like being touched) when I said hi last week I got a great big smile with a “hello”, then hugs no one had heard hello, new word 😉.

So glad you came through the hurricane ok. We have never experienced anything like that here in Melbourne so I don’t know what it would be like. Pretty horrendous I’d say. I saw news reports on it. The devastation something like that causes is absolutely life destroying.
I won’t know for another year as to what support will be available for my daughter. The system is currently being changed with the introduction of the National Disability insurance scheme which has been trialled in some areas but won’t be available to us till mid 2017. It was brought in by the previous government but has been cut back in funding by the current government. It will still be much better than what we have now.
It seems like you are doing a fantastic job with your little guy. It’s people like you who make all the difference. Not so much the system. Keep up the great work👍
Thanks Sue, I love the little guy I’m spending time with, it’s pure joy every time he does something new. The hugs are the best and when he climbs in my lap and won’t get down.
I hope they open more programs to help these incredible people. In the meantime yes it’s up to people who love children to reach out to them and provide as much love and patience as they have to give.
Question : My sister is having a problem with her phone going black while she is playing the Simpsons. She says since the last update. Anyone else having this problem? It’s an android phone. She can play another game ok just this one and just recently. Thoughts?
Yes. Me too. It works kinda like a screensaver timeout if you never touch the screen for a while. Not sure what is going on but probably they are testing whether would this reduce their server load?
They just changed it to go by your device settings for your display. I don’t know if it is permanent, but you can change your display timeout settings for now. Hopefully they will fix it back.

I was hesitating about the Cobblestone road. I am a freemium player, scratching donuts (not a Donut farmer). With Black Friday coming about, what are the odds that there are Premium character sales?
I don’t have any “inside” info, but I’d say the odds are good that they will do another Black Friday sale. And I think the cobblestones aren’t a limited-time item (check and see whether it had a countdown or says it’s limited-time…if not, then you might want to hold off).

It’s not actually related to Halloween at all. “Black Friday” is what they call the Friday after Thanksgiving (last Thursday in November), when the stores open very, very early and have big sales to kick off the Christmas shopping season. It’s called “Black Friday” because it’s when the retailers count on getting their profits into the black.

Yeah – I’m not a fan of that whole scene, and, especially, the thing now where stores are open for Christmas shopping on Thanksgiving itself. But I also don’t do all that much Christmas shopping anymore, and most of the small amount of Christmas shopping that I do do is online, since the presents are going to people in other parts of the country, and its easier (and cheaper) to let Amazon deal with the shipping for me.

I bought the cobble stone road. It takes some getting use to to line things up, but assume it will add a nice decor later on in many areas. I redesigned a small section of my halloween area and then added more land to make room for new stuff coming. I moved a few things around and in doing so made a HUGE CLUSTER MESS of the balance of the whole area. I just added new neighbors and wanted them to see a nice landing area. It is going to take me DAYS to recover from moving things around that I though would be just a simple thing. Did I eat today or take care of chores yet? NO!… Did I go out today and take care of necessaries yet? NO!… I am still trying to recover from moving things around that I though would be simple… Real Life is banging on my front door repeatedly, and Reality is ringing my doorbell insistently. I cannot ignore them any longer. I have to go… I cannot talk to anyone about this. Everyone at work goes, Huh? Even a psychiatrist wouldn`t understand.
Bottom line gang: Be careful, this game can suck the life out of you. Even if you only buy the cobble stone road…

I was in dribbly panic stare mode when the content started flowing, I screwed with a couple of my key designed areas and ever since have been whimpering and shuffling and buying new land and arranging and twitching (I’m getting one of those left eye flutters now that last for 2 seconds, just enough for it to annoy you but not predictable or long enough to be able to show ANYONE ELSE!!!! ) and placing and storing, and placing again…

I’m right there with you Lone Ranger. My downfall has been the monorail, sometimes I get so frustrated with it I’m tempted to remove it completely. Thought I would move just one area of track over and days later finished it sort of. Amazing how one little thing leads to mass confusion.
I have a few areas I TRY to leave alone but mostly my town is a constant work in progress. I love moving things around half the fun of playing is building a town the other half for me is visiting different towns and seeing all the cool things people come up with.

A little thought on town builders and non town builders,
After playing the game for quite a while now I am still amazed that there are basically two categories of players,those who build and those who don’t.
I regularly visit all my naibours nearly every day and am constantly amazed at some great designing and ideas but then there are those who just use the area of Springfield and beyond as nothing more than a storage/dumping ground for anything and everything with no town plan or any plan for that matter, I have noticed that of the 80 plus naibours I have only about 20 really put any effort in to create their own vision of the town we know and love, and I mean no disrespect to anyone butbthe other 60 are missing out on SO MUCH FUN 😍😍😍😍😍😍
The biggest part of playing and most of the fun for me is spending hours and hours designing and tweaking my Springfield to getting it as perfect as my little head can imagine, I have so much fun just moving things to fit perfectly to my imagination and spend many evenings just admiring my handy work,
Now while I agree that a not so health amount of ” NERDISM ” is required to be this kind of player and I realise that you don’t have to do any designing at all the still be able to play the game and enjoy the battle to reach goals and achieve mastery of the game but as I’m not a game player in the traditional sense this is the one game that hooks me from absolute day one, purely because of the ability to have TOTAL control over how my town looks and how the characters move around the town and interact.
I look at all the naibours I have and all the amazing stuff they have acquired and just see it sitting there all rammed together in one big SMUSH and I get the sweats wanting to get my hands in it and make it work and look like something,
So as I said this is not meant to disrespect anyone because I love the game and the ALL players and this forum and you play your game to suit your needs and that’s really ok,
I just feel that you really to have to let your GEEK out to play now and again for the sake of your blood pressure and your inner nerdy kid, and to quote that great line from the film Field Of Dreams.

Designing is my favorite part too. I just started rebuilding my entire town again and I love doing it.
If they build it they will come quote was used in my work place before many years ago when we debated about whether government should build a fiber optic cable. Stockholm did that and was a role model for study.
I try to keep my SF tidy, not fancy but tidy. My SFH on the other hand☹️☹️
Thanks I agree having a town that I designed is all the fun. I like visiting my neighbors towns that really design their’s. I also have neighbors you describe. Kind of wish all my neighbors had a design theme.
My town gives me lots of pleasure & enjoy doing the design & changing it with the seasons.

You have a great town Carie and also Steam Radio…You are both a breath of fresh air when I visit my neighbors. I find that the “compost heaps” are kind of stressful to visit and I end up eventually removing them from my neighborhood. If they’re not fun to visit, what’s the point? I believe a game should be fun, not a chore.

Hey Steam Radio (like the handle ;), have similar principles for design too, I kinda follow a Sim(pson)City approach to design, with R/C/I areas, municipal areas, but recently with the uber-content-heavy events, some of my designed areas have exploded, like the Casino, West and now Spooky events. There are three categories of people, how they process
Those who are “visual”
Those who are “hearing”
Those who are “feeling”
Me, I’m hearing, I remember, understand by hearing – that’s why I enjoy playing music.
My town is the pits, artistically, but it does ‘flow’ .
My AIRPORT, is near my FACTORIES, is near my LOW RENT.
But, I just don’t have the eye for to make beauty – logic, math, music work for me.
I started out that way too – spending hours on getting my town just so. But it was easier, when you only got to a new level maybe every other month, and two or three events a year. This left oodles of time for playing around with what you got. Now I miss the down time, too many events chasing each other. And I have a collector mentality, I need to get everthing from each event, which never leaves enough time to actually do something with it. Basically, the old parts of my town are lovingly laid out and decorated, while with every event I add what is more or less a dumping ground for all the event stuff. Of course the plan is always to work on it later, only “later” the next event already starts. Sometimes it is downright exhausting…
I’m guilty of having 5% of a design at most in my town. When I started playing, I was essentially just placing things randomly to try and progress through the game as quickly as possible. Truth be told, I never really anticipated to still be playing over 2 years later as I downloaded the game on a whim when I went on vacation. So I never got around to establishing any kind of design. I keep meaning to organize it, but can never find the time/motivation as the events are coming faster and I’m getting busier. One day, my town will be beautiful…..maybe 😉
My town looks like the Building Commission is run by a group of lunatics and the Street Commissioner is of high importance. So, in my estimation, a normal town.
I really wish that they would sort our inventory by holiday or event so when we’re building our town we can decorate accordingly

I want to say that even though it hasn’t been a week, compared to last years this Halloween event is the best one that I have ever played due to many reasons. The content seems to be far better and more is being offered through the prize, crafting and MAG track with some premiums on the side. There is more new characters relating to treehouse of horror episodes with roles that relate more to the episode (such as the green blob) unlike last year which offered mostly new costumes and ver few new characters. There are bonut rounds now at the end of the prize track this year to get more 🍩, whereas last year when you get the last prize like Tenta-Corp it would be pointless to continue earning currency afterwards then you would have to wait until the next act begins. The atmosphere has improved much more with a more darker Springfield and a visible fog than darker corners of your screen . The new ambience sounds added like the birds screeching, the fires burning, water flowing in fountains and the boats sound at the Pier and Boardwalk, also worth to mention the new sound at the Springfield Arms when tapped, I feel that it was meant for the Gridiron and not at CBG’s residence. The only thing I don’t like about this event now is to spend 40 🍩 on cobblestone road tiles, EA could of gave it away for free to everyone along with a pavement like with the dirt road and path with the Wild West event. This is the 3rd Halloween event I have played and i heard of lots of good things about the 2013 one. I’d love to hear what others think about this event. 😀😃😀
Hi! I made it! Lots of cleanup this week, so unfortunately I still won’t be in-game much. Two of the three homes have fences almost totally gone, and I’ve vowed never to buy a grapeseed tree in my life because those things are weak in winds and the shedding is nuts. Should be back in game next week, hopefully the start of the next act 🙂

For those of you that spend a lot of donuts, does anyone know it the shipwreck goes in the water or on land/beach? I’m guessing water but would still like to know for sure. I hope I’ll be able to get it in the end, those obels are coming in far too slow!

I just spent the last 30 minutes in wireframe mode (the editing mode where you can make things transparent – not sure of the technical name) trying to find feral beasts. I located about 20 of them. Is anyone else having a problem finding these things or not having enough of them spawning? If the max is supposed to be 80 then I’m getting screwed. It’s impacting my ability to keep up with the timeline. Any suggestions? I’m open. This is killing me.
There’s no need to go looking for them…if you center on your MAG building and wait a minute or two, they’ll all come down and swarm around there. If its first thing in the morning and you’re only getting 20 of them, there’s probably something wrong with your game. Try uninstalling and reinstalling it and, if that doesn’t work, you should probably contact EA.
Obols…an indication that they are going to get easier to earn and/or more plentiful? I think Patric hinted at that in another post, but (no offense to him) I was curious to know if this was just a hunch or a more-confirmed hunch after seeing game files.
Just that, after taking a few days to get 250 for the catacombs, getting enough for the other bigger items seems like a near-impossible feat. If the small obol pack prize gives 10, it’s not much of a help.
Not turning full-panic or anything…just planning for the future 🙂

Hahahaha…true. I did see that the MAG prizes have a few obol awards, so that might help, too.
I think we need to keep in mind that the crafting and the MAG upgrading are meant to be done across the entire event, not just the first act. While it may seem slow to move up a level every once and awhile, ‘regular’ (tapping every 4-5 hours) play is all that is needed to get through these events and usually with time to spare.
Well, I do understand that. But looking at some of the costs…that shipwreck is 1000 obols. The catacombs are 250. Pretty sure there’s an item that it 750. And I’m now working on getting the vampire coffin, which is 160.
Going off that, if the obol output stays at these low levels, even with the MAG prizes, it seems like there will be a lot of players struggling to get a lot of the “bigger” items.
I’m not looking for them to make it extremely easy, but maybe up it a little bit. Or give a daily task that awards a good amount of obols (I personally haven’t seen any yet in my town or my son’s).
Thoughts on the cobblestone path for 40 donuts? Is it worth it?
I think no need to rush as it is not time limited? It is least important and is just for decoration.

I have a few of my neighbours towns who have and it looks really nice in all of their lands.
I’m still deciding if I want it, but I’m waiting to see if ‘limited time only’ items come along first before spending donuts on the path (especially if the path isn’t limited time)
I just got the burns family crypt last night and unlocked Ralph’s trick or treat job as well. And my tapped out addicts shirt finally came in the mail on Saturday so I’m very happy about that.

Slow down! We have two more acts. Eventually if you play often youll have no problem getting everything. Enjoy the game.
Seems to me that accumulating currency in this event is no problem but as for obols, well that is a different story. Baring in mind towards the end we will need 750 & 1000, I can see some players struggling to amass this amount.
Ok, I know EA will not want to make it too easy but 2 obols for each trick or treat, come on ! you are having a laugh !!!
Maybe because every event has people complaining “it’s too easy”. I’d personally rather the currency accumulation to be easy than hard. I want lots of cool things in my town, not less time in my real life.
I’ve just managed to get enough fencing to go around the medieval house we got, not including the space for the gate we get for mag points. Definitely slow going. Fortunately, I have a lot of the craftables already (those that were available during previous Halloweens, CoC, and Wild West) so I can mostly focus on getting what I want, but it’s like pulling teeth.

Settled into the new Halloween, I think it’s my third now, I began my addiction originally mid-first-hallows-eve-event, yup, bit of a latecomer but I caught up quick.
I’ve tried to do the Cube usual, incorporate everything, with an underlying thing, or such, or somewhat.
My latest is the “Burns Only Patented Soul Extracting Prototype”… -BOPSEP? Ok, gotta think of a better name…
So after coping with buyers remorse in cobblestoning and shuffling my spooky bits into a kinda area-ish, I’m getting there. I have a plan, kinda, ish…

The following post is meant as a poor attempt at humor and should in no way be taken seriously. Seriously.
So Halloween has gotten me into a morbid mood this year. I just finished dropping some long time friends who have been gone from the game for some time and replacing them with brand new shiny ones and it got me thinking, what happened to these people who obviously put so much time and effort into this game and then dissappear without a trace? Was it heart disease? Maybe the big C? Or perhaps a more violent demise, like a grusome high speed motor vehicle accident involving shattered windshields and frank decapitation. Or maybe they decided to take matters into their own hands and …….., well I won’t go into specifics. Or maybe they are alive and well and have just been kidnapped and being held for ransom by someone who is just slightly less emotionally disturbed than certain people running for public office at the moment. One can only hope.
Anyway, I just love Halloween and the sudden mood swings it brings with it. And to any of my friends out there who read this, if I suddenly go missing from this game anytime soon please know it was nothing you did. At least not that you know. Smell ya later!

The cost of Squidport tiles also changed. For me, for about the last year it’s been 3.5 days and $17,500 per tile. I built one tonight and it dropped to 11hrs and $15,000.
Has anyone else noticed the final round of boardwalk tiles seems to have dropped from 3 1/2 days to 12 hours? The price is still the same. Bug or working as intended?

I think they lowered the ‘building time’ for the boardwalk tiles on purpose
because 3 1/2 days is quite long..
I’m not even sure why they take so long to build..
Our Spring fielders need tiles to walk on 😛
I think they kept the price the same because we’re still getting the same item (tiles) just in a shorter amount of time.

Anyone else keep winning at the kart track and then money disappears when you try and spend it? Is that just common?

The money you win adds on to the money that you already have, so if you win and you click “collect” the “you’ve won” box will disappear, but the money will add to your total.

Both teams will be tough. Indians have a better bullpen, but BoSox have a better 1-9 and starting rotation (especially with two of the Tribe’s best starters out with injury). So right now, I’d say the Tribe.
But I would like to see Boston vs Cleveland go 5 games, so they tire each other out.
