Hello my name is Julia and I started playing TSTO since 2013/2014 however, I stopped playing the same year. I left off on level 42 and recently became addicted again about a month ago. My Springfield is just a mess with buildings on top of buildings and my conform o-meter is at 2.5 (yikes). I’ve read many articles on here and I followed quite a few other tappers and it seems many people have so many decorations and their Springfields’ look so clean and organized. My question is, how do you manage to not have as many buildings but still manage to collect a good amount of money? Should I remove some buildings in place of more decorations to boost my conform o-meter?
You increase cash by increasing your bonus. Look into articles/discussions on KEM farming and Mystery Boxes.
It really comes down to the bonus percentage. I’ve been where you are within the last year. Give it a little time and some good Kwik-e-mart farming, and it will improve.
My Springfield is a mess, just like my office and home. I find that soothing somehow. My mother always said that I seemed to thrive academically in the midst of the chaos of my room, while my brother was too busy sharpening pencils and lining them up… So it depends on what bothers you and what doesn’t. I admire those wonderfully organized Springfields but I doubt that I will ever join them.
I’ve designed a few areas but most of the buildings and decorations are just stashed wherever they fit. So you can try a very gradual approach to design if that suits you. It’s Springfield. How likely is it that the city is well-planned anyway? I put the nuclear plant next to the elementary school because it seemed like a very Springfield thing to do.
I also store many decorations that are not bonus items. Most event junk is in this category for me.
I decided a while ago to prioritize buying bonus items that boost the income and XP by a certain percentage. I look for bonus items on sale in the vault or in events that bring in 2% more for 20-40 donuts usually. I started a little KEM garden and patiently waited until the number of donuts per harvest started to rise. I’m up to 866% bonus now and it really makes a difference. I spend 2.5 donuts per day on the XP multiplier (25 donuts for a ten day charge), so anything harvested above that is profit.
I do like to do the daily challenges and if you click the x on a non-donut challenge, then often you can pick up a donut or two or more for the alternative tasks. Recycling is another way to pick up donuts. The Where’s Maggie game also. I try to keep my cash high enough that I don’t have to worry about the costs when I’m a bad guesser. Mr. Burns’ Mystery Box for 6
donuts does tend to yield about 9% bonus for a full cycle of bonus/non-bonus prizes, which I think might cost 60-100 donuts.
I predict the Halloween rollout is going to be a steaming hot mess. Aside from the Fortuneteller Shop building glitching and unable to store or move, My Kodos (in Halloween Princess skin) is stuck in the Flirt With Human Males task. Also, I was logged out of the game yesterday and got an error message a couple of times while trying to log back in. Get it together, EA. I’ve already told myself I’m finished with TSTO if this THOH event is REALLY good. I came in just in time for the second THOH event and I’m prepared to go out on this one. EA has ignored so many issues (land purchases, item limits etc) and show no regard for long time players that I just don’t care anymore.
You might put up Christmas/Holiday decorations to make you feel better. I never took them down. Can’t wait for the snow to appear in Springfield to make them really stand out! Otherwise I’m a Grinch in realspace. Not really too much into Halloween, so I don’t know how much I’ll play the event.
It’s okay to skip an event. I do that sometimes if the prizes and such seem meh to me. Just check in here to find out what’s coming up next and when.
My Springfield is getting ready for THOH. Donuts are accumulating, land is bought and open, IRS is fully leveled up, and XP multiplier increased. KEM farming is rewarding, but a bit of a grind. The actual KEM harvest and bonut picking seems the most tedious. Anyone else out there running a large KEM farm (mine is140 donuts every 4 hours)? How do you keep it interesting.
My main game I have long ago stopped KEM farming. Now I have to buy rattrap trucks (I don’t sell) to keep my cash down. (I have over 3 billion).
Do you have your kems lined up in groups, so that you can collect with just a few taps and sell as a group? Four groups of 5X7 is easier to tap and sell than long rows. Also, if you surround the four groups with water or roads, it’s easier to get them to line up correctly as you place them.😁
I’ve got my KEMs in an isolated area. I like your water idea, it should be better than then the unbought land barrier I’m using. I’ve been selling the KEMs 35 at a time, works great. Thanks for the idea.
140 every 4rhs?! I thought i’m doing good with 40-50 donuts a day..
My C game farm produces 66 every 4 hours.
140 donuts every 4 hours….errmm., did I read that correctly?
I farm 260 KEMs with a 2600% multiplier. That yields a bonut pick for every 4 KEMs.
As for keep it interesting, after you have 2000+ donuts stop farming for awhile. That should be enough for any event. Unless you like to speed up your game.
I keep it interesting by having multiple games. Starting a new game takes you back to the task you just might just ignore now like finding Maggie, collecting trash, buying lottery tickets, collecting income from your buildings.
Thanks, I was thinking the same. A vacation from farming sounds right. It’ll have the added benefit of still having store items to buy. I haven’t sped up with donuts just to keep some challenge in the events.
Yeah i did stop when i hit 2500, that will be enough for black friday. Hopefully some good premiums that will boost my XP..
What exactly is KEM farming? I keep hearing everyone talking about it, but I don’t know exactly what it is, and I don’t know how to use it to my advantage. I have looked for clues about it, but I haven’t been able to find any definitively clear answers. Also, how is it that you specifically are able to get 140 donuts every 4 hours by KEM farming?
KEM Farming involves buying multiple quick E Mart stores repeatedly, as you get a minimum of 2000 XP points whenever the building of each store is completed. With the XP collider you get 10 000 XP whenever each building completes, these figures are then multiplied by your bonus ( for decorations and conformity ) so if your bonus was 30% then with the XP collider you get 10 000 + 30% = 13 000 XP points. The more stores farmed the quicker you can move through the levels and get a free donut for each level up. There is a guide on the site that goes into the numbers in more depth. Hope this helps.
Basically the goal of KEM Farming is to turn in game cash into donuts, rather than buying donuts with real money.

Super Powers mini event prize track is still in my game but can’t be completed even though it was 99% complete when the event ended and said at the time otherwise.
Hence Everyman only has 3 four hour tasks, his entire quest is locked.
Contacted EA, apparently they’re aware of the problem.
Completely given up on this game until they fix it.

I’ve been playing since March 1, 2013 (or 2014?my first quest character was Tom O’Flanagan) and have been following you guys here for almost as long! I’ve really loved all aspects of the addicts over the years, and so have finally decided to introduce myself properly. I’m Angela, from Los Angeles, and I’m an addict.
Here are some discussion points that rattle around in my head, and I am curious what you all think. 🤔
-My number one favorite character job is to send coach Krupt to his 12 hr “play a dance tune“ and hear him yell, “Well, here’s the second opinion!” as he simultaneously throws Playground balls at children and plays the violin. ( I always picture him playing square dance music).
-Please, EA, let me buy more land for $$$$!!!
-I would love some deeper water, to build a proper pier
-I hope Halloween starts today!!!!!!
– I wish we could have cobblestone “pavement,” as well as the cobblestone street!
-I miss Tapball.
-Are there Any other characters that have permanent six second jobs that pay $35 besides Astronaut Homer and clockwork-Orange Moe?
-Is it weird that my husband, who has never played Tapped Out, regularly quotes the Rich Texan?

I agree with the pavement request…also, any kind of pathways would be nice, especially curved options. If we can get curved track, why not curved pathways?
I would like EA to make diagonal tracks and pathways because why does everything (specifically the characters) have to move at right angles relative to the “game board”/”playing field”/(or whatever you want to call it)?
I also like the diagonal idea. Wouldn’t it be nice to also have pavement only 2 blocks wide, also? Or to be able to place the picket fences on the sidewalk?

Does anyone have any idea what the theme for this year’s Halloween event is going to be about? The Fortune Teller character and that part in the questline dialog about Krusty The Klown literally becoming a monster
doesn’t give much of a clue as to what the Halloween event’s theme is going to be.
Of course, the theme doesn’t really matter to me (even though I would still like to know what it is), just as long as EA makes at least some of these characters/skins available as returning content for this event: Pirate Kang; Star Spawn; Frinkenstein; Space Marshmellow; Scratchy Mascot (preferably permanently returning to the Krustyland section of the store); Wizard Marge; Mayan Homer (by himself, not bundled); Marge The Witch; Strongman Homer; U.B.O.; Sorceror Frink; Evil Shopkeeper.
I’m disappointed that Marge The Witch and/or Wizard Marge were not made available (and not able to earn event currency) during last year’s Halloween event as they both would have been appropriate for inclusion into that event’s magic-related theme. But it’s probably for the best that they were not available because it was during that event that my 2-month long, Google-related financial crisis began (which prevented me from being able buy donuts), so I probably would not have been able to unlock them during that event anyways.
WARNING SPOILERS Simpsons has released it’s THOH poster. If the game follows the show possible themes could see a return of Chthulu, a spoof of Jurassic World with seniors (might go with the mini event ), a cannabis version of Invasion of the Body Snatchers or Lisa cracking up (Three Faces of Eve).
I’m hoping for some KLand Horror Night content myself.

I saw that post, that’s why I figured you wouldn’t mind since it’s already out there. I still wanted to post a spoiler warning for those who missed it and may not want to know about this year’s THOH.
I’m notoriously bad at predicting what EA is going to release but there was a lot of backlash to last year’s event not being scary Halloween enough. I’m hard pressed to think of what they haven’t done already, but the teaser, the addition of KLand to Springfield makes me think Brooders may have it with Scary Clowns.

So im taking a break to modify parts of my town, fix things i’ve been putting off. Decorative neighbors, especially Ebron… could you look in my town at the area around Moe’s tavern and offer some design tips? I’m in way over my head.
Your town has come such a long way! I love all the groupings and small sections that are “accessorized” now…the apartment grouping is great.
My best advice would be to break that strip of buildings apart and add each to a different area of your town. Anywhere you have a “lineup” like that, it’s hard to make it work.🤔
Think of each building (or group of 2 or 3) as a potential vignette and then try to think what characters (jobs) and decorations would emphasize that concept. Each decor item should reinforce the feeling of the building concept…right down to what color and style of trees. A “dark” feeling will be reinforced with blue/green shrubs and trees, while a fun/upbeat atmosphere is good with light green trees and bright colors.
One suggestion, you might try bulding a “low rent” district with some bars, the strip club and other items like that.😁

Hi neighbors, hi everyone, hope you are having a relaxing day. Been using this down time in the game to do a little Springfield remodeling (and speaking of which, hope your kitchen is coming along nicely ebron😁). I expanded my wildlife sanctuary, created a little “hobbit” area (finally found a satisfactory way to use those damn pumpkin houses!), added some new rivers, which melded the “good” and the “evil” forests, re-did the town hall area and created a Hammock District district separated by water yet connected to a new city/bars district. “Little Italy” also got a big remodel. The funniest thing, however, (and it makes me chuckle every time I scroll past it), is the sheep that I have placed all around the “sacrifice your sheep to odin” alter, which is placed next the wiggop station. He looks like he’s all passed out from eating sheep but they are all still standing there like idiots. I dont know how to post a picture, or if a picture would even capture the hilarity, ( or maybe it’s only me that finds it funny?), but if you are one of my neighbors you should check it out, it’s in the “evil” forest. Well, I’ve rambled on long enough. Hope everyone has a great week!✌

PS…Reno is going ok, but still waiting on countertops and a sink…will be so glad to have water in my kitchen again, washing dishes in a small powder room is getting old quickly😬. Hope to have counters in around a week, so no running water till then, but at least the appliances are in and we can cook normal food again😋👍.

Hi Ebron; Just a tip for your kitchen reno & no water. Try a large container. Here in Australia you can get them from hardware stores & they hold about 20 or more litres of water (i’m not sure what that equates to in gallons). I used the powder room sink for the hot water then topped up with cold from the outside faucet. Placed all on the outdoor table & washed up happily! The dishes even dried better under the sun on a cheap dishmat that came from a $2 shop. Stone benchtops take ages; But the end result is worth the wait!
After our reno finished I’ve reused the big black rectangular container for potato & onion storage – So now it gets further use! Good Luck with your reno!
Actually, we lucked out and they hooked up our dishwasher earlier than scheduled, so now we can at least run a load every couple of days. Thanks for the idea, tho…a large tub would be a good thing to have anyway…we are on a private water system and every time we lose power, no water. Going to get one to keep in the garage just in case, thanks.

The area with the sheep is a great idea. It was very nice of ebon to post a picture. I can just imagine Maggie doing her thing while all those poor unsuspecting sheep are just melling around. Lol

I think EA went to the land token system to control growth so their servers can keep up and keep tappers playing events to earn land tokens. I’m sure the marketing psychology is there. How different are mystery boxes from slot machines? But mystery boxes combo constant reward to intermittent reward. You will get something, just not necessarily the something you wanted, but now the chances of getting the thing you really wanted got better- try again. It’s a science,
the login error is back like it has been each time the week or so before each event since christmas 2017. not gonna delete and reinstall it each time just to open it for one play anymore.
Free up space. 5-6 gigabytes. You will be back to normal.
I can’t log into anything EA related. It makes me sad, I want to farm some donuts and clear space for the Halloween event. 🙁
Hi Mab! Hi Hondoriley! Hi everyone! Hope you get your rain 🙂 Doing ok over here. Was put on medical leave for a bit from the the 10th thru the 16th from having a seizure at work, and was allowed to come back to work on the 17th and then on the 20th was told my release paper wasn’t going to work as I had to be restriction free. The job I do doesn’t violate my restrictions of no climbing or driving machinery; but the main HR people are adamant about having me restriction free. The company put me on short term disability and is trying to get me back to work as quickly as possible. Game wise I’ve got a small amount of donuts ready for both Halloween and black Friday. Well happy tapping everyone.

You need to harvest Perfection within two seconds or it wilts and doesn’t count.
I don’t know about most of the TSTO community but I’m getting tired of one thing in our games. So we can send all our characters activities through the unemployment building, for me that’s great. Why has EA not given us the ability to clear all those tasks in one tap. I mean if you can send 280 characters on a 4hr task, why not be able to clear 280 characters in one tap. We need a “Clear All Tasks” button. Sorry if I sound cranky but we need a change.

I understand you, it would definitely save time. But for me collecting “individual” characters (they are not really individual, because of tap radius) are usually the only times I collect income from buildings. I just dont bother going around my town every time. So on top of your “Clear All Tasks” I would need also “Collect from all building” 😀
I do the same…in fact, lately I collect everything only once a day. Even the 4, 8, and 12 hr jobs (that I assign cuz I love them😁) just have to wait to be collected with the 24 hr jobs.
Wednesday I’ll be back to the grind, but for now, once a day is a nice break.😊
I’m glad you brought it up. I’m satisfied with the job completed button pulling me quickly around town to also collect from buildings. How will you ever enjoy the often hilarious character interaction if all you do is log in, hit a collect all button and send them all out again via the unemployment office?
I’d much rather have a search function on the Town Hall to quickly find characters. I’d also like buildings to be like the Audience Reaction table, you tap it and can select characters to come animate it, unlike the Radioactive Man Statue where you have to chase down all the characters individually.
Heya Addicts! Feeling a little tired/out of sorts as I just came back from Malaysia – that’s like a 30+hr journey! On the way over I bought wifi on the plane so I messed around in the game but didn’t on the way back and apparently am glad about that; I slept most of the way from Tokyo to Denver! I don’t even remember sleeping or anything. Just waking up and having less than 3 hrs to go – I guess that’s the best way to go!
I have a confession: I dislike Halloween and dislike/distrust all of the Treehouse of Horror episodes at some level. They’re novel and funny but something about them doesn’t sit well with me. l actually haven’t gone through it in the game though I’m not as excited as others perhaps to see it coming. There, I said and am saying it: Not a Halloween fan in general! Also, random other thing: my neighbor is a mortician and puts weird displays up starting in September every year yet is a super crank and hates everyone…

All the sudden, it’s it apparently logged me out while not playing… It popped up with age verification when trying to get in and keeps saying an error occurred when I try to log into my account

I had that same problem twice. First one was a few months ago, and I had to uninstall and then re-install the game in order to fix the error that was preventing me from logging in. Fortunately the error did not come back again during the second time for me that the login problem occurred.
I would suggest you try uninstalling and then re-installing the game onto your device as well as downloading the game to secondary device as an emergency backup.

Hi, three, Happy Sunday everybody. Looking forward to the THOH event, even though the last few years its been a crap shoot if it lives up to the hype. I got 336 donuts in reserve, plus about 85 million to spend on Bloodmobiles so I think I should be in a good spot to get some good stuff.

So yet another dry week for us despite some very promising weather from time-to-time but some opportunities during the week for nature to make it up to me… Holding thumbs! 😄 It would be very useful to get some rain this week as I have been given loads of wild iris that I need to plant and it’s so much easier to do if the ground is soft! So I’m really relying on the October rains starting tomorrow as promised!!! 😄 From a temperature point of view we are having interesting weather. Yesterday was 18°C (64.4°F) but today was 32°(89.6°) and by Tuesday we will be back down to 15° (59°). Guess it keeps you on your toes 😄
A decent performance on the rugby field against Australia yesterday but hoping it will be followed up by another good performance against the New Zealand All Blacks next Saturday. Played tennis yesterday afternoon and squash this morning so right now the body is protesting somewhat! Fortunately the squash courts were nice and cool despite the heat otherwise I would have melted! And even though it is nice gardening weather I have hibernated instead and had a lovely afternoon nap 😄😄😄
Ready for the Halloween event to start. Got a busy week ahead of me but I’m sure I will find enough time to keep up with the expected event grinding. Curious if the event will open some more land and just where it might be placed. If it’s in the same area as the last two events it is a looooong way from most of my Halloween themed stuff so probably going to be a bit of a challenge to tie things together. Ah, the joys of town planning! 😄😄😄

EA needs to let us buy land tiles for in game cash again or maybe even with Heights currency! Something! I have no more open tiles for the rest of my zoo and a bunch of other unrelated buildings and items. Its super frustrating when all available land is sitting there and you can’t “buy” it. Which brings me to another gripe… 😡 … why does EA not allow some items from the squidport, coffee cart I’m looking at you, to be put on land? Or not allow other items to sit on dirt tiles and whatnot? It’s madding!

It will be in the main Decorations section, but probably not in the subsections (misc and nature). I think it is called Springfield Dam…hope that helps 😁.
