Springfield Showoff: Real Moms of Springfield

Important Note: Good Morning! I know yesterday’s speculation from EA has got a lot of you excited about a possible event hitting.  As of right now I have no information on a new event, nor is there anything in the files.  I’ll do my best to keep you updated on it, but I am going to be unavailable for a few hours today.
For now we’re operating as usual, with our regularly scheduled post plan…which includes this Showoff Post and a DID post later from Patric. (of course things may change if something hits).  If you’re looking to speculate about what may be coming with the next event I encourage you to head over to this post and comment there.  This way we can keep event speculation posts in on place 🙂

Thanks guys!
Alissa

As we sit here frakkin files, pulling pics, and typing a million words a minute to get our readers the latest updates and information…we sometimes find ourselves forgetting to stop and enjoy our own games. More so our neighboreenos. So we try to make it a point to hop in n out of the towns now and then to see what cool things YOU are up to. So we have decided we want to continue to focus more attention (as if we don’t already 😛 ) on YOU…our readers. Time to time we will be peaking into your towns, checking our Flickr, and also the posts in the comments below to see what cool ideas and designs YOU have come up with to make your towns unique and…well…YOU.

So here is YOUR chance to show off all your hard work, time, donuts & in-game cash spent. Send us your work, no matter how big or small and brag about it to the world. We want you to! Then keep your eyes posted to Addicts to see if YOU end up on our “SPRINGFIELD SHOWOFF”.

This time around I wanted to see what you’ve done with the Real Moms of Springfield Stuff! (Jittery Joes, The Needle Exchange, Kitchen Carnival, etc) We’re featuring the buildings and decorations from The Real Moms of Springfield mini-event, from the areas of your town that you wanted to show us.

And I’m not sure why, but for some reason, the enthusiasm wasn’t there for this showoff like it usually is. Not sure if you guys weren’t thrilled about the content, not feeling TSTO designing with all the downtime, or what the case but we only had 3 players submit their designs.

Because it can always be a little intimidating and frustrating trying to figure out just where to put anything in Springfield…I wanted to make sure, even though there were only 3 players who submitted, we still featured their designs. However, instead of a photo gallery, I’m going to truly feature these designs.  I really think they’re great, and these players took the time to submit them…even if this wasn’t the most popular event.  So here they are…

First up we have designs from Ebron…

She’s added her Jittery Joe’s to the Springfield U Campus…who better to get hooked on coffee than college students pulling all-nighters?!

Next up is ebron’s Needle Exchange, nestled nicely in between Knot What it Seams and the Yarn Barn….Kathy from Personnel would be proud…

Next, we have Santos L. Halper’s designs…

Here’s Santos’ Jittery Joe’s, complete with outdoor seating…a must for coffee shops in a town where it only snows for 4 weeks a year!

Santos L. Halper even found a great spot for the Kitchen Carnival!  It fits in nicely with the Fireworks, Candy & Puppy Dog store and the Donut shop.  The perfect item to caramel any item from those stores…well except puppy dogs and fireworks.  I don’t recommend that…

And last, but certainly not least we have Savblair’s design…

Here’s Sav’s Jittery Joes.  Another one with outdoor seating and this one has newspaper dispensers.  Perfect place to grab a Springfield Shopper, a Cuppa Joe, and relax outside…

Thank you Ebron, Santos L. Halper, and Savblair for your submissions!  You did a great job with them and I know they’ll inspire other Tappers!

What did you all think of your fellow Addict’s designs?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

Stay tuned for the next Showoff announcement!  In the meantime keep designing those Springfields!

  1. Hi,

I’m curious to see how people have designed their town’s if they have actually separate towns/citys or different areas such as Springfield, Shelbyville etc.

How do you make each area look different & how do you link them?

I’ve looked thru the previous Showcase posts but haven’t seen anything along these lines & I’m looking for some inspiration please

    • Mine are differentiated by water, highways, forests, or the monorail as dividers.

It has kept it simple to differentiate between “Springfield proper” and the rest of the sprawl.

  2. I didn’t submit for the show-off because I didn’t feel the minimal amount of effort I put into placing these items was worthy of showcasing. I had to look here to remember what the items were … and then remember where I put them. As my town is rarely under construction, I incorporated the new items into existing areas just to freshen them up.
Seeing these show-offs reminded me that decorating doesn’t have to be complicated, elaborate or take up a huge amount of space to look great. I am constantly amazed and inspired by the creativity and humour of fellow tapper addicts !

  3. Some great examples from Tappers (I’m sure to go back and redecorate around the new Buildings I have accumulated during this Mini Event, even if most of them came from the Mystery Box). 😀

As for the lack of participation? I’m guessing enough found this Mini Event was meh for them and there was a Holiday weekend to compete with (even I take a break from tapping over the weekends). I just lol at the fact we all were expecting something new this Wednesday (when all we got was an Event removal – again, I have zero expectations from EA!)😂

Have fun and we shall see what is announced during E3 this year! 👍

  4. Those all look really fabulous. My big problem at the moment is that I have like 30 new buildings from the event/ the yearbook to place. To make matters worse, I had just gathered all of my winter/Christmas stuff in one area and kinda lost inspiration half way through. I have always hated big junky areas in neighbors towns and now I have one of the worst. These pictures gave me a push to get back to it. Thanks!

  5. Oops ! Thanks Alissa for posting those pics. 😎

  6. I really like what you trappers have designed. They all look great ! Might have to borrow a design or 2. Lol. Hope you guys don’t mind. 😃 happy Wednesday all…..😎

  7. Thanks Alissa, these designs are wonderful 😍
