Showoff Announcement: Real Moms of Springfield Designs

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s that time…calling all Addict Designers!  We’re getting ready to do the next Springfield Showoff, and with an update (finally) hitting our games it’s time to show us what you’ve done with all the new stuff!   So this time around I want to see what you’ve done with the Real Moms of Springfield Stuff! (Jittery Joes, The Needle Exchange, Kitchen Carnival, etc)  So prep those towns…because we want to see what you’ve done with your Springfield!

As always please remember to limit it to 1-2 of your favorite areas/photos…we can’t show your whole town, unless you want to send in your entire town via town portrait.

So use this time (and a holiday weekend here in the US) to polish up your town and show us how creative you can be!  Send in your Real Moms of Springfield designs and we’ll be putting up the Showoff Post featuring your designs on Wednesday, May 29th.

So grab some screenshots of your town, or finish up those designs…just make sure to send your submissions in by about 8pm ET Tuesday, May 28th, can’t wait to see what YOU have come up with.

You can send your designs in two ways…either post a link to the image in the comments on this post or you can email them to us at TSTOAddictsblog@gmail.com.  We won’t be pulling images from anywhere else, so please if you want to be featured either submit in the comments below or email your images to us.

Note: PLEASE try to limit your submissions to only 1-2 of your favorite screenshots.  We like to try and let everyone showoff their town but it becomes difficult when some of you are sending in 7-10 images.  Pick your favorite areas and send them in (or if you stitch photos together, that works too).  We’ll try our best to get EVERYONE in, but please understand that sometimes we miss a photo or two.  If we miss you one week, we’ll try really hard to make sure we get you in the next week.  You’re always welcome to showoff your town, at any time, on our Flickr page.  We know a lot of you have awesome towns that you want to show off, but please try to stick with this week’s theme.  Remember, this isn’t a contest.  There’s nothing to win.  It’s just a fun way to showoff your town and get some design inspiration from your fellow Addicts.  🙂

Do you want to be featured on the next Springfield Showoff?  Post your images  in the Comments below or email us your screenshots at TSTOAddictsblog@gmail.com. We can’t wait to see YOUR designs! (Need help with images, just ask.)

Designing In Downtime – Rituals That Give Back

As a reminder, the acronym for Designing In Downtime is DID (as in “look what I DID!”).  Because let’s face it, design is a personal thing. And when it comes to filling downtime, there is nothing more personal than how YOU do it.

But, I am writing this. So, for now, we will focus on how I DID it.  Get it? Got it? Good!

If you have been tapping for any extended length of time, you have no doubt formed habits that may border (or actually be) determined clinically to be aspects of Obsessive or Compulsive behavior.  As far as I’m concerned, when it comes to TSTO, that’s fine. It relaxes me. It makes me laugh. And I can quit anytime I choose… right?  RIGHT???

OK. Maybe not.

But, with all of the recent content, as well as the chance to go back and load our towns up with old/new content through the Year Book, I have found that I have added a few “must do” tasks to my list of rituals.  And, not coincidentally, they can/will force me to spend more than just 5 minutes every 4 hours, to do what MUST be done. This is even more obvious during Down Time (which is pretty much ALL of the time these days…as I finished this “event” 11 days early) but, I digress.

Let’s take a look at some of the things that I HAVE to do every cycle...and you can compare it to your list.
