Update 8:15p ET: Update is out on iOS..again, just the download from the app store, it’s not live in-game.
Update 6:50p ET: Update is out on Android…just the download from the app store, it’s not live in-game.
The immediate thing I noticed..they still haven’t fixed the freakin’ noise on startup, even if your sound is off. Unbelievably annoying!
Another thing I noticed…the splash screen is a little wonky…at least on my S10. Not sure if it’ll be the same on iOS when that comes out…
Anyway, here’s the update description from the store, and there are more screenshots below the fold (to prevent those who don’t want to know from knowing…)
Update: Just getting this out of the way now so all of you who are going to gripe about it can gripe about it before it actually hits…this appears to be another 4 week multi-event. Starts tomorrow, ends January 8th.
Also, please don’t complain and say this event already sucks, or it’s the worst event until at least week 2 of the event. And I especially don’t want to see/hear people complaining about it before it even goes live in games…
Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
A bit of good news, and holiday cheer, for all of us….the Christmas update has hit the files! Everyone let out a collective sigh of relief…
This will likely follow the same pattern we’ve seen with updates…it’ll hit the files now, hit the app stores within a few hours (maybe even within 30 minutes), and then go live in-game tomorrow (Wednesday).
We have NOT received update info from EA, at least as of right now, but I’ll start working on pulling the files to see what’s incoming. Any info I find will be updated on THIS post. So check back often for updates!
Until then….“Snow. Snow. Snow. It won’t be long before we’ll all be there with snow”…
More screengrabs form in-game below the fold…
Have an Amazon Fire Tablet and I got the initial Christmas Update. Thought it wouldn’t be available until tomorrow in the Amazon App Store. Oo.
This will the only…and i mean ONLY time i say this so pay attention. LET’S GIVE IT UP FOR SNOW!!!❄❄🎅❄❄❄🎄❄

Yay for snow! 🌬️❄️🌨️
Boo no seasonal music queue (aka we didn’t get it for Halloween, either!) 😮
Let’s see what happens in the morning 👍🏻🎄🦌
Yeah SNOW SNOW SNOW!!!!❄️🌨☃️ I always wish it would stay until the end of February rather than the end of the event.
No Christmas music though. ☹️
Update just dropped for iOS.
I can confirm that:
TSTO update via Google Play Store on Motorola
(yes, same “annoying sounds” at load screen)
Enjoy that white snow covered Springfield
(but no Event music is provided)
We get a December Event 2019
(don’t ask what it is, just that we got one)
Well, Zero Expectations isn’t criticism (it is an honest opinion that I have zero expectations from EA with the current TSTO skeleton crew)
And now back to the festive music 😉🎄🦌

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

Hurray! These donuts ate burnin’ a hole in my pocket, so I’m looking forward to some fun seasonal buys, snow in my town, and a new event!
Out for Android
Anyone else have a picture of Lisa with bleeding gums Murphy in the sky where the bleeding gums cloud used to be?
Here is a screenshot of what I’m talking about

Yes, I have it too. Lol
I do!
It is the same with the cthulhu monument.
Maybe placeholders for snowy items without proper snow Ski?
I have the same thing with my Cthulhu monument.
Hurray!
Well , it’s been awhile since I posted here. Hope this holiday season brings warmth, love and happiness to all.
Now about the Christmas Event….here we go again. So looking forward to it and seeing what hiccups will be in the stockings lol. I know EA is giving me coal this year as I have been absent from the Answer HQ forum as well. But, this year I have donuts and hope to get good things….
Blessings to all and all a good night….lol
Best wishes ~BB
Great news especially given I have over 2000 🍩 for the first time ever!
I don’t see why people should be complaining that Christmas will be a 4 week event since its been 4 weeks for the last 3 years. Still at least there’s an update coming. I can’t remember if the snow appeared before or with the Christmas event in previous years.
Thanks for the info…I’m pleased when anything new comes out. It’ll be nice to have snow in my Springfield…
Alissa, thanks for the heads up………..yaaay! 😎
Thanks for the update on the update! I was starting to wonder if EA was going to acknowledge Christmas in Springfield at all so it’s nice to hear that they are!
No update yet on Andriod.
On a personal note, the xmas update is the one is have always disliked, I just dont like how the whole town is covered in white. I find it makes it very hard to build / rearrange the town. I know others love the xmas updates but while I still enjoy the game, I am always glad to get back to the “green” Springfield in the new year.
I just got the update on android.
The snow is ok at first, but then it gets in the way. Lol
Happy gaming. ~BB
Praise Jebus the snow is coming!! All will be right with the world! ❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️☃️☃️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️☃️❄️☃️❄️☃️☃️
Haha I was so bummed it hadn’t hit stores today and thought we’d have to wait another week until I realized today is only Tuesday. I think I went the whole day thinking today was Wednesday. Haha!! So happy for snow!
Yes ! !
Fab news I love christmas x x
Wow! Best event ever (he said with absolutely no sarcasm at all). 😉
🃏🍺💰💊🎶🐇🏈🐻🎓🔫⚡
Your latest update to the post is awesome!! 🤪
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Tannenbaum! Santa is coming! Under the mistletoe! Can’t wait till Christmas! Kris Kringle! Sorry Alissa, feeling a bit naughty today!
I dont care what kind of format its gonna be. Just happy to share it once again with all you fellow tappers out there!!! Its about freaking time though!!!! Bring it!!!🎅🎄❄🎅🎄❄
I would like to gripe that you are not allowing us to gripe. Isn’t that a constitutional right?
Fortunately for me, this site isn’t a democratic republic like the US is…
Isn’t that covered in my 18th amendment rights?
21st…
Yeah, that’s the one I prefer!
Let’s have a 🍻 or two
Perhaps you can request a refund?
I was hoping for an update, especially after this morning upon launching the game & sitting through a 1.7GB in game update. I figured it was for snow, as that is usually a huge download.
Yayyyy!! So excited!! I look forward to this event all year…hope EA gives a great one!! Thanks for sharing!! 🙂
This Xmas update is the worst update ever.
Just getting it out of the way?
Can’t say something is the worst ever until you’ve actually played it…
Do’h oh sorry wrong sound woohoo that’s the one I was looking for.
Yes!!!! Thanks for sharing the scoop!!!
