It’s nice to always see a little normalcy in our lives right now…even if that normalcy comes in the form of a TSTO update! An all-new mini-event has hit our games, Summer Games 2020!
Remember, this event is designed to follow a series of tasks via the questline to unlock prizes. For each of the parts of the Summer Sportin’, Had Me a Blast questline, you’ll have to earn 
via various character tasks in order to unlock the prize for that part.
So let’s take a look at the decoration and building prizes for this mini-event (we’ll cover characters/costumes in separate posts), the Dancing Kids, Summer Games HQ, and Sports Podium…
First up, the Dancing Children…
How You Get it:
Summer Sportin’, Had Me a Blast Pt. 1
Make Homer Lounge While Others Clean- 4hrs
Make Springfielders Scrub and Polish Streets- x5. 4hrs.
Make Children Wash Windows- x5. 4hrs
Collect Cheap Trophies- x105
Once you’ve completed the task you’ll automatically be awarded the kids…

Item: Dancing Children
Size: 3×3
Build Time: Instant
Earns: Nothing, Decoration
Conform-O-Meter: Consumerism +5
Can Be Placed: grass|boardwalk|beach|pier|dirt
What Does it Do?: Like all crowds, it changes positions when tapped. 3 positions in total. And the kids dance on their little stage.
Other Info: Once unlocked you can buy more for 10 donuts each

Make Springfielders Volunteer to Compete in Games- 4hrs

Task: Burns has a 3hr task there, Appreciate the Extravagance

Make Lisa Investigate the Litovians- 4hrs
Make Moe Beat the Litovians in Rock, Paper, Scissors- 2hrs
Make Homer Beat the Litovians in Cornhole- 2hrs
Make Carl Beat the Litovians in Lotto Scratchers- 1hr
Collect Cheap Trophies- x210.
Once you’ve completed the tasks you’ll automatically unlock Podium…

I was a bit surprised to see the Dancing Children was a crowd decoration but its nice to have the option to buy more of them and different positions of the children. I remember them from the episode “The Old Man and the “C” Student” singing and dancing to “Children are our Future” in front of the Olympic Committee. I haven’t found anywhere for them yet but I’ll probably figure something out. 🕺🎶💃
The Summer Games Headquarters is a nice looking building which looks similar to the International Olympic Committee Headquarters from the same episode that the Dancing Children and the Summer Games Chairman appeared in. Seeing all the windows lit up here looks really cool and I’m really glad that there is a permanent task here for Mr. Burns but I do wish another character like the Summer Games Chairman also had a permanent task here since it wasn’t used much in the event. I might put it with other skyscrapers or tall buildings with a similar design. 🏢🏅🏐
Sports Winners Stand is an ok looking decoration since apart from the Springfield Games Podium, we don’t have a decoration like it. Like everyone else, I’m disappointed that there isn’t a task here since Patriotic Homer’s “Wave a Big Flag Around” task easily could’ve been put here with him standing on the middle part of the podium. At least there is a sound with it of people cheering. I might make a design of it with the Dancing Children and possible the Summer Games HQ. 🥇🥈🥉
Out of these three from best to worst, 1st place was the Summer Games HQ, 2nd place was the Dancing Children and 3rd place was the Sports Winners Stand.
Summer Games HQ – finally made space for this (and gave Mr Burns his 3 Hour Character Task) 👍🏻
Dancing Children , Sports Winners Stand – for all that Event Currency you grind for …. dumb Event Prizes like these are why Tappers are irritated (Dumb Decor!) 👎🏻
I’ll give EA the 👍🏻 for the last two Prizes (they’re fun, but that’s not enough for a Mini Event)
The podium, what’s it for, standing on and receiving medals, this one though does nothing!!!
Were there no tasks for the podium? I don’t think any required tasks, but can we “use” it?
