Here’s the entire event synopsis direct from EA:
When the Movementarians return to Springfield just before Christmas, Homer gets sucked into the cult
again in the hopes of taking The Leader’s Spaceship to Blisstonia. Marge and Flanders try to save Homer
from the cult, but the Movementarians are too crafty, so they have to enlist the help of Rabbi
Krustofsky. The Rabbi calls in the big guns for help, Yahweh and Moses. Moses ends up falling into the
cult himself. Baby Jesus shows up to see what’s ruining his birthday and catches the eye of King Herod who wants to finish the job he never could before. Welcome to Sacrilegious Christmas 2020.

P.S. LOVE that Moses looks like Charelton Heston! (From Season 2 and voiced by the beloved Phil Hartman, no less.) TSTO still must have some classic Hollywood enthusiasts on staff. I wonder if any of them are old enough to remember watching Heston’s The 10 Commandments when it aired every Passover/Easter and watching it with the whole family, poking fun at the old Hollywoodization. I do wish for more sentimental or older stuff featured in the first decade of The Simpsons to make it into TSTO. I still cannot believe the show is over 30.

All I wanted was Christmas house lights! I never got them and they’ve never returned in the past 4 or 5 years, not even in yearbooks. As someone commented earlier, Maggie doesn’t have her “be the star on the Christmas tree” job anymore, which was one of my favorite Christmas tasks. Is there a post (or would someone like to make one?) of all the characters who have Christmasy tasks? Whatever holiday it is, I always try to make the ones with holiday tasks do their tasks for the season.

I do believe the Holiday Switch (aka Plunger) should be returning Content …. and it puts holiday lights on any Building which has that option when Tapped (FACT: we have plenty of Buildings in TSTO that still don’t have a Holiday Lights Building Skin).
I just got all the buildings with lights & decorations—I am SO HAPPY!!!!!! I love my Springfield now—so much to look at. I got the holiday lights switch two years ago in a yearbook or something, but it didn’t come with any house lights to turn on. Now I have them! Merry Christmas! 🎄🎁 🌟
TSTO is definitely more festive with the Holiday Lights on Homes and Buildings (EA just just needs to add this options to every Building and it truly would be a “winter wonderland”).

Okay, then I did not find the information about the availability of Jahwe in the linked post. I‘ll wait and see. Will likely be too expensive anyway

True, but that amount is so absurdly high that it is not interesting – I can neither save up the donuts nor the money. Jahwe would be an interesting character but I guess I wait and see how much they ask for for him.

Hmm, if they were accurate, they would present Christianity as those who want to talk bad about other beliefs and spread their gospel. I mean, where does, for example, the portrayal of the fictional character the devil come from? They outrightly portrayed the friendly forest spirit Pan as something evil.
Seriousness aside, I look forward to the event. Any idea how much Jahwe will be? It would be cool to have a god in Springfield. I built a holy mountain so it would fit.
Expensive. If you save the number of donuts i mentioned in the first post you’ll have enough to get everyone.

And the return of a daily for mystery box items is a nice surprise.
Now if we could only get away from the multievent format (mini-events strung together) & back to roaming NPCs / multiple currencies / crafting …….. I would be tickled

I got santa claus last year, but not his workshop. That means that my Santa only has 4 and 8 hour tasks.

What happened to Brother Faith’s and Buddah’s 8 hour jobs?
Seems like numerous characters lost some of the hourly tasks. I just noticed Arnie Puerto and Stephen Hawking lost their 1 hour tasks. Others have commented that some other characters have lost their 4 hour tasks. Odd.

Tappers need to watch neutered “The Joy of Sect” (13th Episode, 9th Season), to understand TSTO’s use of Movementarianism (it’s not a Christmas-y Episode, but the Simpsons Writers sure did riff on Scientology, Jim Jones, Heaven’s Gate, Peoples Temple, Raelians, Oneida Community, Rajneesh Movement, Chen Tao). Let’s see what EA offers up! 🤔

When you say “here are some photos from EA” does that mean there are more than what you showed or is this it, if so I’m a lil disappointed in the lack of effort put in compared to the other Christmas updates ?
Those are what EA sent us. This event is on par with multi event Christmas events of the past
The only thing I care about is getting the raccoon wearing the cute little sweater. If that comes back this event will be great, if not I will hate it.

Yasss! Every time we’d speculate/concoct ideas for upcoming events I pined for the Movementarians so often I sounded like a broken record. Now, they’re finally here with a whole lot of other content that’s probably going to piss some people off. I predict complaints on first a hellish Halloween and now an irreverent, culty Christmas.

The Content does come of from a funny Episode, never thought it would be introduced into TSTO (let’s see what EA offers up). 🤔

It looks like Yahweh rather than Jehovah (yes, yes, interchangeable), hope it’s not just a costume, just couldn’t get to the donut count when god was introduced.

Yay snow! But you know whats weird is ive lost a few 8 hr tasks for characters! Jesus for sure and worse yet is Star Maggie! She can’t be the tree topper anymore!😞😞😞 Anyone else have anybody lose their 8hr tasks???
I’m experiencing a similar issue; multiple characters lost their 12-hr tasks.

I noticed those Character Tasks changes, too ….. could it be we are getting new Content that will change the Tasks certain Characters will have? 🤔

Whenever snow returns to Springfield, I always check out the winter look of any new buildings. The recent Halloween additions look good with snow. It’s definitely “a cold day in hell” in that part of town,
I’ve been waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting!…… it’s finally getting here! I need to cool myself off in snowy Springfield as the mercury rises here in Australia!
