Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons or current Tapped Out event) but for the most part, you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

PLEASE HELP
My 9 yr old son started playing a few months ago and got into it. I tried to steer and educate him the best I could. He’s 9 and gets excited when he gets new stuff. Here’s the issue…
He earned the METAL DEPOT but tapped, tapped, tapped and doesn’t know where it is. He has since earned the plastic and glass depots. He cannot unlock Uriah bc he doesn’t have the metal depot.
I’ve searched his game EVERYWHERE.
It’s not in stored items.
When I go to the “Rail Yard Project Board” and click the magnifying glass on the lower right, it takes me to “Find Building” and all the buildings are there EXCEPT There’s NO Metal Depot.
I’ve opened cases and sent screen shots to EA HELP with no replies for two weeks. I’ve been checking everyday and opened about 3 or 4 cases b/c they just won’t respond. Yesterday I even tried to contact them on X (Twitter).
The Rail Yard Project is a GREAT way to earn 5 donuts while doing the recycling and dump stuff. My boy can’t do that bc the Metal Depot is missing.
What more can I do?
I’m upset b/c I’ve spent a bunch of REAL MONEY to help him get a little further to start because this game is pretty frustrating at the beginning when you miss out on all the event goodies….

I take it the building finder doesn’t help find the Metal Depot ?
I’ve done this in 3 games with no issues but I have heard of it a few times.
As I understand it there’s 2 options –
Keep trying Help until you get someone who can and will add it into the game
Keep trading Blueprints until you unlock the finished Railyard and Sebastian Cobb and it’ll show up
Same old lazy 4 hour grind

If the last few events are anything to go by I will swerve TSTO and see if the big events improve down the line. The next BIG event being Halloween.
So Frink is having problems with “the closing-the-door-on-my-fingies” just as my fingernail is starting to fall off, having been bitten by my cat – sorry, shut in the door of my Jaguar! 🙂

New Android update has landed on Wednesday, was expecting it on Tuesday.
Updates are usually Wednesdays actually, this one just happened to be a few hours late
Actually updates are usually Tuesday afternoon in the US, which gives me time to research the Rundown and pop out an Update Alert, but nope for this so I’m scrambling.
Rundown will be up in a little while when I can check something in one of my games and then start writing … back soon

New Event started.
I have yet to see an update option on either my iOS or Android devices. Is the next mini event supposed to start tomorrow? The main event ended last week so the usual pattern is for a mini event to start this week.
Appears to be a stone age mini event based on TSTO Facebook page. “ Mayor Quimby went cheap and hired some college students to fix Springfield’s Y2K problem! But like all undergrads, they procrastinated, and now if it’s not fixed by midnight the entire town will blow up – again! When Professor Frink tries to save the day, he accidentally sends Springfield back to the Stone Age. At least the only bugs to deal with there are mosquitoes. #TSTO #TheSimpsonsTappedOut #BetterLateThanForever #NewYears2024”
Usually the files are released an hour or three before the app stores pass them on, but there’s no sign yet that happened.
Catch 22 I’m having issues with phone and internet, should be an engineer here tomorrow, but may be offline when it hits
There has been the odd occasions in the past when we have had a 2 week gap between events. Rare but possible

Same here..after 9am est..I have no update. It’s not snowing, but nothing else has changed..no new dialogue…no update via app store
Android update became available just before 11am ET. Event started at 11. Had to spend donuts to free needed characters.
Mine is up and running. Need Quimby, Frink, 3 nerds and Homer to start. Look like strange options to earn event currency (75 donuts gets you skin for Frink that boosts his earnings from 7 to 8 per 4hrs, barely worth it. 100 donuts gets you a building that earns currency at 5 per 4hrs?)
Otherwise usual stuff. Prizes a couple of outfits for Homer and Marge, some decorations and a pet.
I’m excited for a new update. I’m having a hard time find active players to add friends with. If you’d like to leave a comment with you tag I’d love to add you!

Snow finally stopped thank God.
Still snow on the ground yet it’s not actively falling anymore. Have a shattered dreams token in my daily challenges.
I started playing this in 2013 on behest of my ex gf and haven’t touched it since 2015. Started back on December 13th and missed out on black Friday and halloween so that was fun (not) and then we get one of the lamest Christmas updates I’ve ever seen wtf was that? Retirement home focused. So underwhelming.
Been working on my heights to get to donut veins and just started the new frontier. I have about 11 years of quests to catch up on so hoping they’ve added plenty to the game. A night time option would be sweet and just an option to get more donuts without having to pay money.
I was level 55 when I stopped, now level 106 through a little bit of farming (extremely easy to level to 100 because of 40kxp cap that then jumps to 500kxp). Anyway hoping for god back this Easter and I’m going to try and farm my way to level 939 before then so I can farm for donuts. Tedious af for sure. Would love a way to bet more donuts so I can actually get some characters going.

It’s winter… it’s supposed to snow and it’s a nice change from 10 months of green grass.
Only 1 of the acts of the Christmas Event was about a retirement home. The rest was about winter in the woods, in a cabin. That’s Christmas.
Grinding for donuts can be tedious but unfortunately that’s the currency of what allows the game to persist.
What you view as complaining, I view as levying my disdain with the snow and criticizing it. Yes, the snow. I’m allowed to criticize WHATEVER I don’t like about the game. The snow was annoying and I’m glad it’s gone. So happy it’s cleared out and done falling now. Can’t wait for that to melt and bring back the grass for spring. Should absolutely have an option to turn off the snow manually.
The last act which is what leaves the lasting impression of the event was old people and lackluster. Wanted something better. The other acts were what? Based on lumber, a Hunter outfit for elderly burns and a toxic lake. Whoop de doo.
Grinding for Donuts is whack, they need to implement something that makes it easier without spending money. Bring back lard lad donut factory or other elements that generate Donuts.
Why would they want to make it easier to grind for donuts without spending money? The game is already ad-free and very easy to play without spending real money. It’s great that they’ve even made it possible to grind for donuts at all! And, if you put in the work now and are strategic about it, you can up your bonus multiplier to the point where you’ll get more donuts than you can ever spend, just by collecting buildings and tasks (with the Collider on). That’s where I am now…I haven’t needed to farm for years, but I did have to put in the work to get there. It’s kind of like life. (On a lighter note, I didn’t know that people even say “whack” anymore! 😄)

I absolutely loved this last even and wanted almost everything in it. Always see a lot of negativity since I started playing, but I tend to find the events that get the most negativity are the ones I like. I like the more grounded buildings and characters, not fantasy ones.
Just thought I’d check here, has anyone had any luck getting characters un-stuck from quests by contacting EA?
I’m currently going round in loops between EA support and the forum, without any luck.
Are the Characters stuck in a building, if so, store and replace that building..
Nah, not stuck in a building, but have old quests from an event in 2022 as yellow text quests. Doesn’t matter how many times I get them to complete the quest, it never goes away.
I’ve had quests get stuck because I didn’t realize the next step required a character or building that I had in storage. I figured it out after reading through walkthroughs posted on this site. Could that be what you’ve got going on?
Ah, I’ll have a look. I usualy don’t keep anything in storage as I’ve not run out of space yet. I’ll run through a walkthrough and see if I’ve missed something. Thanks!

I’d like to be able to gift/dump/sell things that can’t be sold.
I’d like a “find” feature so I can find a specific item lost in my giant design.
I’d like the sky finger monument to apply to character tasks too (like other tapping games)
I’d like a safety option/a lock for “never sell characters” – the warning is nice, but it’s dumb rocks can’t be sold but characters can.
Severely agree with this. Those “unsellable” items need to GO. Like why can’t I sell highway road??? It’s so stupid and counts towards item limit. Need the option to sell unsellables
Stored items don’t count towards item limit…only items that are placed do.
For the first time in MANY years, I did not finish an event. The Christmas event has always been a challenge for me to complete because real life is just too busy, but I’ve made time for Springfield life. Not so much this year. The new content just didn’t inspire me and I seemed to be plagued with frequent server connection issues. I would have liked a couple new holiday facades – several common buildings don’t have one and even new options for some that do would be nice. And would be nice to have different skins for buildings most players have multiples of in their towns. Every Krusty Burger, Kwiki-Mart, ect. need not look exactly the same. It would allow for “new” buildings that don’t require more land. Sure, it would be great to have more involved events like those of several years ago or mopre land, but clearly real world economics just don’t support the development cost.
I would love to get an updated mystery box! I think that would be awesome
I didn’t like these last Xmas in in the Game.
Since folks are posting what kind of events they would like, I’m going to, once again, say that I’d like a Passover event in the spring. They did the Passover story in the show, so why not in the game? They’ve already done Easter plenty of times, so this would be a nice alternative.
It would be cool if it were possible l to offer the ability to play prior events for donuts. Obviously any interactivity with friends wouldn’t be able to happen, but to be able to complete the event tasks and earn the prizes.
Any word on the next update…. I love for the spoilers lol.
EA don’t issue spoiler packs for the mini-events, just the 4 act ones.
It’s always a 4 act followed by a mini, recently at least, so we’ll all find out when they put out that next update in a couple of days
I have been busy in my game with the different character tasks. I have about 12 character tasks of which are unfinished. 2 which I can’t complete another two that I refuse to complete. Looking forward to the mini event.
OK, I’m curious… what are the tasks that you refuse to complete?
I know you weren’t asking me, but I’ll jump in to say that I have three “permanent” tasks in my task book. I won’t do the babysitter bandit questline because I don’t want that creepy character in my Springfield! I also have the Poles Apart task for Bart to ride the monorail because I haven’t yet find anywhere that I want to put the North Pole monorail station. And, finally, I have the Burns Money Mountain quest undone…I think, originally, I didn’t have the excess cash and didn’t want to take up the space for it, plus, I liked having Bobo in my task book (cute!). Then, when I did have the excess cash, I kind of forgot about it and now I’m collecting and spending huge amounts of IGC to buy gold road tiles.
One of the tasks I refuse to complete requires krustyland entrance which I refuse to add it to my town. I think my Krusty land area doesn’t need the entrance and if added once added to the town I heard you can’t remove it anymore. The other task was a prize from this past Halloween event. I skipped that whole event because it just creepy.
Ditto for me on the Krustyland entrance. When they blew up our separate Krustylands, I had to scale mine way down and I didn’t like the idea of placing something I couldn’t store if I changed my mind. So now I use the Itchy and Scratchy Land entrance, instead, as the theme for that amusement park area.
Definitely glad the NFL playoffs are here. I’m a life long Cowboys fan, since Tony Dorset, Randy and Danny White…through the 90s with Aikman, Irving, and Emmitt Smith, through The Romo days, and up until now with Prescott, Parsons, and CeeDee. However, my faith in them has waned for the past decade or so. I’m looking forward to seeing how the Lions do..finally, as well as the Texans.
How bout dem Cowboys?!? 😏

What’s worse, being a slightly above .500 squad indefinitely with little hopes to ever again win a championship (my Steelers), or a team that dominates the regular season to be one and done in the playoffs?

That Cowboys performance was a disgrace..but to me..no surprise at all. I’ve lost my faith in them since Romo fumbled that snap against the Giants ..now so long ago. Although I call myself a Cowboys fan, it’s mostly based on nostalgia now..as I’m sure you understand as a Steelers fan. At least..in my eyes…you guys still have a relatable coach coach that isn’t too old and can get players motivated to play for him. I wish them the best of luck today..I’m anxious to see the weather.

I’ve been faithfully playing since the 2nd year since TSTO began and still enjoy visiting and rearranging my little Springfield. I’m a bit embarrassed to say MORE LAND EXPANSION is going to be necessary for me to keep adding the new content that EA has been so regularly dropping.
I’m curious as to what other players, new & old, want from EA developers. Please reply with your thoughts!
I’m sure most people would want a change to tasks done in order to complete events, as well as add things to have neighbors involved as well. The only thing I’m really hoping for soon is land expansion.

My latest town isn’t yet a year old and I’m already close to owning all the land for $$s and then I’m – erm – in trouble !!
And to think Originally it was only 150 Donuts.
The things I want beside to bring back crafting and neighbors interaction. I would like for another Harry Potter theme event. I want Harry the character and jk Rowling as well. I would also would like homer the ballon that poops out confetti. I would like a garden theme event where we get different plants and bushes and flowers. I would definitely would love to have tappables back. I miss them.
I’ve been getting nothing but red screens the last 3 days, even when I try and go in through the Google Play store, which usually is a good work around. Frustrating because I want to work on incorporating the new SF Medical Center and start packing away Christmas. This happening to anyone else? Hope there’s a fix before the new mini event starts. Normally I conclude my open thread posts with Happy Tapping unfortunately no tapping taking place for me. ) :<
Assuming 2 things – you play with an account not anonymous and you have good wifi or a big enough data plan – then I’d suggest trying to uninstall and reinstall in case you’ve got a messed up file or three

no more wizards, castles, monsters, or medieval stuff please! my inventory is clogged with that junk. I’m happy that you enjoy it, but it feels like we have had a million of those events.
Id like to see more Springfield content events:
– monorail 2.0 featuring Y tracks and other infrastructure like bridge façade and construction equipment etc.
– Stonecutters 2.0
– Whacking day 3.0
– Krustyland/ItchyStratchyland/Duffland expansion event
– Squidport 2.0
I always thought a female response/society to Stonecutters seemed like an obvious storyline. Devs can clearly do a lot with making skins a “prize” and could make an amusing story.
My game does not mention when the current shattered dreams mystery box will end, but based on past events its normally around for a week.
This leads me to assume that this week there will be an update to remove the snow and start an event possibly on Wednesday.
Will soon find out if my assumptions are correct
Expect you’re right on an update, but the snow might stay for a while yet.

Thanks for continuing such a great site with the revolving cast of writers. I’ve been popping in for years and I try to stay as current as I can with TSTO. The articles you guys have been endlessly uploading for the players’ benefit is greatly appreciated, especially by those of us who don’t post yet consistently visit. Keep up the great work, and please know that it is not going unnoticed!
