Just popping in to let it’s Wednesday…and that means that non-addictive Elixir is once again available in your game for today only (well and every Wednesday until the event is over). So for today only you can purchase MORE elixir for donuts.
Something new EA is trying with this event…and you can only purchase currency 1 day a week (remember Elixir is required to purchase things AND level up your castles BUT it will not unlock prizes for you…only Gold can unlock prizes)…and that day is Wednesday.
Elixir will be available for purchase in your store from 0800GMT today (Wednesday) and run for 24hrs (until 0800GMT Thursday morning). More details below the fold…

Today’s Elixir Sale Opened at 0800GMT (9/3) and closes at 0800GMT on 9/4. The “Elixir Store” will be opened again next Wednesday 🙂

Hello All! For Australians the day is Thursday for elixir purchase. I’ve never bought any. I finished the event on 30/8/14. Has anyone else noticed more donuts awarded for visiting neighbours? Over my 2 ID’s I got 9 today. Minimum of 7 per day since I finished the questlines & all player prizes. About 65 active friends over both accounts. Anyone else experienced this? I thought it might be to make up for the lower points score from neighbour visits? Best username letters for payout for me were: J & D then P T S & occasionally L. When you finish the questlines & all, you get rewarded with 1000 elixir per 8000 gold. Though there is a glitch. Get over 8000 overnight, the rest isn’t awarded & you start back at zero. I’m averaging around 20,000 per night when USA & Euro players are awake & I’m asleep! I do 90 nerds per sendout on both ID’s. Neighbours & randoms as a mixture. I guess what I’m saying is visit your neighbour list for a higher payout on random donut awards?
I am almost at 50000 gold, is there anything else to play for? I get an extra batch of elixir every 8000 gold, I don’t really need that many castle walls in my town. I can upgrade my castles, but why? I don’t need more nerds and there is no point in making it even harder to attack me.

The Elixir is priced way too high to consider purchasing. The only event commodity I bought, which I regret doing so, is more 20 sided dice at first. It was at the start of the event before I learned that you can earn them randomly (albeit rarely) when defending your houses and castles from attacks. After I used the five that was given to you in the quest line, I thought the only way to get more was to buy them. So I bought a bag of 5. A waste of donuts. I earn all my Elixir (and gold) just by playing and the same is true for the 20 sided dice now too (though I have less control of that).
Buying Elixir would be flat out odd, as would be buying nerds. I am fremium and Finished all quests and prizes, approaching the 105k elixir in next few days for some additional walls and by tomorrow will be at 100k coins, My level 67 Barbarian Homer is so intimidating. Wish all well, keep tapping.
I think the event was fun at first, but I’ve already finished the quest line and only have the last gold prize to earn. I spent donuts on nerds the first week, but will not spend any more donuts on this event. I have earned quite a few donuts during this event, so happy about that. About 10% of my neighbors have just stopped playing already.

Pfftt… got all the prizes within like 6 days
I think it is making things wonky as I was signed out of Origin when I tried to access the game on my mobile, & when I finally get signed in, I can do some things but then get disconnected.
The elixir is way too expensive for what it is. Not that I would ever buy event currency, but at 100 donuts for 4000 elixir which doesn’t even upgrade a castle one level once you get passed level 12 doesn’t make sense. I think something like 20,000 elixir would be more appropriate for 100 donuts.
I’m saving my delectable donuts. We still have a whole month to rack up the purple!
Just finnished the ques tline and got all the prizes the other day. While I really did enjoy this update and the quest line i feel that this is going to be drawn out too long now as I still have over a month left before this event ends and (hopefully) the Halloween one hits.
Maybe EA will give us a new level update in between.

Yes please because six weeks is way too long for this event. I could have got through another ten gold prizes before the end of this and I did not use and sprinkles.
I made the mistake of buying some last week and I’m already done with the whole thing, all the castles at level 19, no reason to take them to 20 since ask that fits is up the defenses again, all gold prizes won, and instead of looking forward to more donuts all we get is more elixir. Which basically just man’s Moore towers and walls.
I wish they had the button like at Easter to move to something else that can be attacked, I waste a lot of time scanning to see if there is something else to attack.
The dialog and quest were fun, but now the whole thing is just boring and irritating.
I also am finding it unplayable on my droid. Crashes the time.
Ok, venting done, but seriously, don’t waste donuts on elixer.
concerning the elixir day…I just wanted to say that once you have collected all the prizes you have to cap to 8000 gold and the award is…1000 elixir. No donuts, just elixir, that is going to be more and more useless if you have almost maxed your castles. I hope that they will offer other things in future, but this is very disappointing. Family Guy’s game’s event is 100 times better
Which makes zero sense. Are we not earning elixir at around 3x the rate of gold? Why would they offer a lousy 1000 elixir after earning 8000 extra gold (and approximately 24,000 elixir). I have zero incentive to keep playing. It should have been like the last event where you had a chance to score a few donuts. I just got the last prize….and there is nearly 5 weeks left in this event. Please send level 44, EA.
