Where Did THAT Come From – Barbarian Homer

“All my life I’ve lived by a code; and the code is simple: Honor the gods, love your woman, and defend your country. TSTO is mother to us all. Fight for her!”

Whoa… maybe watching a movie about Trojan horses and playing/blogging about the current TSTO event isn’t a good combination.  Anywho… in the middle of all this, you may find yourself wondering just where all the items in the Clash of Clones event come from.  The easy answer is the game it’s making fun of but not everything is from THAT game.  Some of it comes from the Best. Show. Ever. For this edition of WDTCF, I thought we’d take a look at the origin of Barbarian Homer.

While I know this is supposed to be Homer switching places with the Barbarian character in a Prince and the Pauper-esque nod to “Double Double Boy in Trouble” (S20:E3), I really think it has a spot in the show.  For fairness, his outfit does look like the Clan Barbarian.

What makes me think of a different origin is the hat Homer wears.  I know several tappers like me recognized that this looks a lot like Homer as a viking. Where to find that goodness?  Well.. let’s head over to the Homer & Bart’s Excellent Adventure segment of “Treehouse of Horror XXIII” (S24:E2).  Gotta love an episode where the title parodies a great Keanu Reeves movie and then the rest is inspired by Back to the Future.  The premise of this is that Bart travels back in time and messes up the moment Marge first meets Homer.  The result is she falls in love with Artie Ziff instead.

In the future, Homer still pines for Marge and with the help of his younger self, who stowed away with Bart, he tries to win her back with the United Federation of Homers Throughout History.

United Federation of Homers Throughout History

You can see Viking Homer right along with Napoleon Homer, Wrestler Homer, Spartan Homer, Cowboy Homer, Robin Hood Homer, Mafia Homer, Pope Homer, Knight Homer, Renaissance Homer (not a caveman lol), Monk Homer, Italian Homer, Elvis Homer, Alien Homer and Angel Homer.

Later, even more Homers are seen after Marge realizes she is really in love with Homer.  Add Punk Rock Homer, Egyptian Slave Homer and French Revolution Homer to the list.

Viking Homer 2

So there you go.  Viking Homer who resembles Barbarian Homer.  Also a ton of skins EA could use some day for Homer but I think he already has a bunch modt people probably never use. Be safe out there in the TSTO Wars and remember… “If you find yourself alone, riding in green fields with the sun on your face, do not be troubled. For you are in Elysium, and are already dead!”
