Tappers 101 – Navigating The New Movement Menu

Bunny here. Putting on my glasses, getting out my pocket protector, and getting my magic fingers and thumbs ready to type those zeroes and ones. Basically…it’s Nerdy Time!!

For whatever various reasons, our game likes to frak with our minds and heads and nothing seems to quite go right. We panic. Throw our device. Scream. Yell. There may be many tears as well.  Just slowly take your thumbs/fingers off the device or you may crack the screen. Lol.  It’s ok. I am here to help. All of us are. Promise.

Sample 2

In this post, I will be going over the basics of using the New Movement Menu EA put into our games a lil bit back. Help you find and locate items easier and make sense of it all. So sit back as we dive on in.

There are a lot of cool new changes to the Menus now and it can be kind of overwhelming to try and find information. To help, I am going to break down each icon section to make a bit more sense of where everything is tucked away now and how you can find it.

In your game in the lower right corner is the Directional Arrows Icon (Movement Menu).

Directional Arrows Movement Menu

If you tap on that you will be brought into what is know as the Movement Screen. From here you can move around anything in your town. Buildings, Characters (put them in storage), Decorations, Roads, Pavement, and Water.

Movement Screen

In the upper left corner is the Back Button. In case you got here by mistake and want to just go back to your town.

Back Button

So let’s look into the Movement Screen a little bit more in details and see all the options you have while in there.

LEFT SIDE

Construction Tab IconConstruction Tab. Here you will be able to tap on any of the icons to construct additions to your town. Roads, Pavement, Water, and Boardwalk tiles.

Construction Tab

Just tap on one and it will take you to your town where you can place the item. It will also show you what directions you can drag it to and expand it. (If you want to know how to build a bridge, check out the post HERE.)

Place Road Place River Place Pavement Place BoardwalkPlace Boardwalk Tile Count

When tapping on the Boardwalk tile option, it will even tell you how many Boardwalk tiles you currently have in storage that you can place down. (151 being the MAX tiles allowed.)

Inventory Storage BoxInventory Brown Storage Box. This is a quick link to your Inventory. More info on that in the Inventory Menu post.

Land IconLand Icon. If you tap this, you will be able to see if you have any Land or Water available for you to purchase and the cost of it.

Buy Land & Water

Nuke TabNuke Button. This is what you can tap to store away ALL items available in your town in one tap (and several confirms). If you want more info on Nuke Feature, see post HERE.

RIGHT SIDE

Movement Icons

This area is actually here to help you to see items around your town a bit more. Tapping on each item and “closing” the eye will make those objects “ghost like” so you can see through them to objects hidden behind and also not accidentally tap on them while trying to move something else.

Minimize Characters MinimizedClosed Eye. This means any of the object in the icon will now not be able to be touched while in Movement mode.

Minimize Roads Pavement WaterWater, Roads, and Pavement Icon. Tap on the eye to “hide” these objects and keep from tapping on them while moving around in your screen.

Minimize CharactersCharacters. Tap on the eye to “hide” Characters wandering around your town so you do not accidentally tap them while trying to move something else.

Minimize BuildingsBuildings. Tap on the eye to “hide” any Buildings around your town. This will help you avoid tapping on them while trying to move something else. This is a GREAT feature for those, like myself, that like to store random items behind buildings and forget they are there. It is also useful if you lost an item or a character and need to find them. This lets you see right through to anything hiding behind. This is a good way to also see where to put those Training Walls and hide them around your town so your Righteousness Rating will never drop.

Minimize DecorationsDecorations. Tap on the eye to “hide” and Decorations. This will help you avoid tapping on them while trying to move something else around your town. Same as buildings, this will also help you to locate anything hidden behind them or blocked by them.

S0 if you are worried about Righteousness Ratings, you can “hide” objects to see where you may have some room to tuck away out of site several Training Walls to help keep the 5 stars always. (You can see in the pic I hide Seasonal Items that drop bonuses as well as walls that fit nicely unnoticed behind taller buildings.)Hiding Buildings

CENTER

The center is the area you will probably use the most. It is where you can tap on any object to see just how big of an area grid it sits on, see if you can sell it, see if you can store it, X it out if you tapped on it by mistake…and the main thing…just move it from one spot to another. If you see red as you are moving an object around, that means you can’t place it there. Either there is not enough space or there is another object in the way.

Red Image placement

Following are the Standard Icons you will see when tapping on an object in the Movement Screen. Just how many Icon options you will have, will depend on the object itself.

Check MarkCheck Mark Icon. Tap this when you are done moving the item to where you want it to finalize your selection/location.

Rotating IconRotation Icon. Tap this if you want to move the object to face another direction. (Most only go two ways.)

Inventory Storage Box IconInventory Brown Storage Box Icon. Tap this to see if you can place the item you selected into inventory if you want it there.

Money Dollar SignMoney Icon. Tap on this to see if you can sell an item, and if you can how much you can sell it for.

Cancel Action XCancel Icon. Tap on this X to stop whatever you are currently doing. So if you changed your mind on an object move, tap on this and it will go back to where you got it from. Also this is helpful to exit out if you tapped the wrong object if many are close together.

Trash IconTrash Icon. Tap on this to throw away an item you are removing. Like Pavement, Roads, or Water.

Removing RoadsSo if you want to remove Pavement, Roads, or Water…just locate the area you want to change and tap on it. The screen will then show the item and which direction you can go to remove large areas at a time. Tap the Trash Can to finalize the selection you made and remove the items.

So that about breaks down the Movement Menu and the Categories inside of it. Keep an eye out for my other Menu posts.

As always, we are here to help in anyway we can. (I even try to harass…errr…I mean contact EA on our readers behalf to see if there is anything more I can find out too.) Just keep hanging in there. Changes happen. We will all get used to it eventually. 😉

  1. When will they make dumpsters, parking spaces, & buildings 360 degrees rotatable??? We are forced to put buildings on the top or left side of streets to get the front door facing the right way. Really screws up packaging. But we can rotate fence pieces 360 degrees? Which sometimes leads to alignment & overlap problems.

    • They tried that with some items. MASS issues. Not as easy as it seams. For Buildings…MAJOR coding involved. Thats a LOT of info to show all 4 sides. The more details…the more difficult to turn it around. The simpler…well…thats easy as it looks identical practically on two sides.

  2. Oh sorry Plow King haha

  3. I am not sure where to put this. I just recently finished Barney’s questline. I can’t seem to get the Mr. Plow (I won the skin last year) questline to trigger. Is there something I am missing? Thanks!
