In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. So that is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where did THAT Come From?
This post I will be going over the Origin of Tom Turkey. Why is he in our game? Why is he dressed up? Does he talk? Let’s dive into the Simpsons TV Series to find out more.
Season 20, Episode 4: Treehouse of Horror XIX (It’s The Grand Pumpkin Milhouse)
In a very Charlie Brown style fashion, Milhouse resembling Linus is determined to stay at the pumpkin patch and see the Grand Pumpkin instead of going to the school party. He KNOWS the Grand Pumpkin is real. No one believes him it will come. So he prays and his tears finally bring the massive pumpkin to life. It seems really awesome, that is until Milhouse offers the Grand Pumpkin some home made pumpkin bread. “Bread made specially for Pumpkins?” Then after he eats it, Milhouse tells it that the ingredients are actually FROM pumpkins. The Grand Pumpkin can’t believe it and goes on a rampage to exact revenge. He sees Homer carving Pumpkins on the porch and eats him.
He ends up at the school party. Willie offers him Roasted Pumpkin Seeds or the Unborn to the Grand Pumpkin. So he eats Willie too. Lisa is desperate for help and realizes it was Milhouse’s belief that brought the Grand Pumpkin to life, so she tells Milhouse about Tom Turkey. So she convinces Milhouse to believe in Tom Turkey. Milhouse starts to pray and believe in Tom Turkey…and of course he shows up.
Tom Turkey is not happy with the Grand Pumpkin and goes after him right away. He ends up killing the Grand Pumpkin by using his cornucopia til literally “blow his brains out”.
Willie, Homer, and Nelson are freed from inside. Lisa tries to think of a way to thank Tom. Milhouse suggests a Thanksgiving feast. Tom can carve the Turkey. Now of course Tom is not too happy and proceeds to pick up where the Grand Pumpkin left off and devours kids.
Halloween gave us the Grand Pumpkin and now Thanksgiving has brought Tom Turkey into our games too. What do you think of Tom? Did you give up some pink sprinklies for him? Wish him and the Grand Pumpkin had a task together? Let us know.

good Halloween episode
‘It’s A Grand Pumpkin, Milhouse’ remains one of my all-time favourite Treehouse of Horrors segments, and I would’ve loved having an animated Tom Turkey lurking around town. Sadly, we got an overpriced decoration instead. Alas, my Grand Pumpkin’s reign of terror over my Springfield continues unabated. 🙁
Small in-game update just now. Seemingly no effect. Anyone seeing anything Christmas related? I’d hate to send my peeps to bed prematurely.
No Christmas stuff. It extended the Gil deal by about 8hrs.
Blerg. Thanks!
