Hey there Superfriends!
I gotta say that I am loving the heck out of this Super Event. Vigilantes, Superheroes, Supervillains, bad guys to tap Batman-style, Spiderpig… so much fun. Of course, with lots of new items comes my task to let you know just WHERE all the stuff comes from. For this super where did THAT come from, we’ll take a look at the Tar Pits.
This new building came our way attached to the premium Petroleus Rex character. Other than the connection between tar and the petrol P-Rex likes to rampage with that’s where the connection ends. Of course, I’d never leave my fellow tappers hanging when it comes to an origin story so let’s head over to “Bart Gets an Elephant” (S5:E17). As you probably know, this is the Stampy episode but our new building does make an appearance also.
After Stampy escapes from the Simpson’s backyard, he goes rampaging through Springfield to include the GOP and DEM conventions and the peanut factory. The obvious place to find a stampeding African Bull Elephant? The Springfield Tar Pits of course.
Ok… Bart may have headed there because he saw the outline of a mammoth but he does find Stampy there too. Also funny that “these prehistoric creatures blundered into the tar pits which preserved their skeletons in showroom condition.”
You can also remember Stampy rescuing Homer and Barney from the tar pits any time you see this new building. As a So Cal resident though, this beauty will always make me think of the La Brea Tar Pits and field trips as a young Wookiee.

I’m actually surprised this wasn’t a more popular item, this is from one of my very favorite episodes and I’m pretty sure I’m gonna get this before the event is over. I’m mainly freemium but I just got my yearly boatload and am waiting to see what the rest of this great event will bring character-wise, although I have to say I’d probably pick the Pits over Bartman or Radioactive Man but that’s just me. I’ve always had a soft spot for the Dinos…

There are tar pits in my mom’s home country…I feel obligated to have the tar pits in my town as an homage!

2 things have always stuck with me through the years from this Ep.
First is the scene when Homer, Marge & Lisa arrive at the pits in the car & Homer hits the deer statue
H- D’oh
M- a deer
L- a female deer
2nd is Barney going up in flames as he lights his cigi after Stampy pulls him from the pits.
Both are great moments. The Sound of Music moment always makes me laugh.
So, stampy SHOULD get a task there
It would’ve been cool.
