At this point the main questline is complete.

And yes…once you’ve completed the main questline, Random Tasks (this icon sidebar_currencyjob) will be back.  You’ll earn 100 ico_terwilligers_musicnotes_lg for every task you complete from the Random Task list…just like you did with Act 1 and Act 2.

In addition to the random tasks a few other tasks will popup.  Before we go over them, it’s important to note that these DO NOT have to be completed.  They’re just extra goals if you want to earn more

The first is Building Towards the Sky.  This will be represented by sidebar_spotlamp in your task bar (and yes if you did not yet craft the Farmer’s Market or Gas and Grub you’ll still see those in your task bar as well).

Building Towards the Sky is basically Upgrade tasks…tasks to upgrade Monsarno and the Opera House.  Completing these will earn you ico_terwilligers_musicnotes_lg for each one you complete.  There are 6 total parts for Building Towards the Sky (that I can see) and each one involves upgrading both Monsarno and the Opera House higher and Higher (Part 1 is Level 15 at Monsarno and Level 5 at the Opera House).

While you may complete these goals naturally, just by upgrading as you should (and yes, an Opera House upgrade post is coming)…I DO NOT recommend going out of your way to clear these goals.  Monsarno is simply not worth upgrading after Level 19 (IMO) and the Opera House is not worth upgrading much after Level 10 (still have to play around with it).  So DO NOT waste Fertilizer, Corn, Masks & DNA to upgrade these if you don’t have to.  If you’re Monsarno is already where you want it to be…keep it there.  DO NOT upgrade further.  It’ll just push you further back from crafting goals.  Likewise applies for the Opera House.  So don’t stress about the Building Towards the Sky task.  It’s just there…ignore it as much as possible.

There is another task that will popup once the main questline is complete and that’s the Running Out the Clock questline.  This is represented by sidebar_sideshowbob in the Task Bar.

Running Out the Clock is another set of tasks I advise on ignoring.  From what I can tell there are 6 total parts and completing each part will award you 100 ico_terwilligers_musicnotes_lg.  Each task requires you to Squish Bob Clones and Craft Items (Part one requires 100 Bob clones and you to craft 10 items).  Again, this is something I HIGHLY advise on ignoring…it’ll just drive you crazy and the reward to 100 ico_terwilligers_musicnotes_lg just isn’t worth it (IMO).  Just focus on playing as you would play, craft what you want to craft and do your best to ignore the Running Out the Clock task.

So to sum up….ignore BOTH the Building Towards the Sky task AND the Running Out the Clock task.  They’re both not necessary to complete and will just drive you crazy.  Focus on your crafting goals instead…if you achieve something by accident great, if not no worries.

And that concludes the main questline info for this Third Act of the Terwilliger Event.  And concluding the finale of the Terwilliger Event!

Remember…we always encourage you NOT to use donuts to speed up the questline.  Donuts are always better spent for items instead of speeding up tasks/questlines.

What are your thoughts on the Act Three questline for the Terwilliger Event?  Thoughts on the prizes/crafting items offered for Act Three? Are you happy with how it ended?  Or do you feel like there was a little more to be desired with the dialogue?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. Hello! Will krusty’s music costume, Dr. Twerligger, and Mr. Burns gold mountain questlines be available after this event ends? I’m asking because I would prefer to keep everyone working for event currency of i can… Thanks!

  2. Hello ladies, I hope both of you are having a wonderful “tappin” day. Lol. I really hope I haven’t missed this somewhere. Truly I don’t want look at The top of this very page, because I’ve looked so hard at many different areas for an answer. So I’ve unlocked Opera Krusty, it’s checked and says prize unlocked but I can’t find him. He’s not with Krustys other outfits. I feel like I’m missing something. Please help me.

  3. I’m sorry if this has already been answered, but I need to ask. I just got the Krusty opera costume, and the Clowned of Music quest started. Should I do the quest, or leave it for later. Will the skin remain (and the Clowned of Music quest) after the event is over?

    Thank you.

  4. I have had Lisa free for awhile but Act 3’s quest line will not start. I can get music notes from squishing but no quest line! I have noticed Sideshow Bob in neighbor Springfields, but I do not have him… Did I miss him? Help please!?!

  5. How are we meant to craft any items if the upgrades are costing all that we earn? What’s up with that? This event is ridiculous. Hmmph!

    • I guess it depends on how far you upgrade and what level of game play you’re on. My Monsarno is Level 19, Herbicide is Level 11 & Opera House will be at Level 9 (currently at 7) and I’ve still managed to craft the Farmer’s Market, Sani-John & Gas and Grub & suspect I won’t have any issues with the House Boat. (Theater Masks accumulate FAST) It just depends on how you play honestly. I’m in my game every couple of hours clearing tasks during the week. But I do play a lot slower on the weekends…

      • stop at level 8 with the opera house.
level 9 only unlocks jobs for 5 people, only 3 of them new
if you were able to complete 12 jobs a day, with each character (which to me is alot) it would take you 7 days, just to recoop the cost of the masks to reach level 9.

  6. can’t upgrade opera house, I’m level 51, research at level 24, symbol is there to upgrade but when I tap it, only jobs appear, Am I missing something?

  7. can’t upgrade opera house, symbol is above it, but when I press on it, only lists jobs at opera house. have 6k corn, 5k dna, 1k opera masks. my research is at level 29(yes I’ve stopped), now I need to upgrade opera house and can’t, am I the only one, do I need to go farther in sorry? at pt 2, make Bob laugh

  8. As a level 26 I am quite annoyed with the theatre masks. I hardly have any characters to put on mask tasks. So unlocking the other tasks is extremely hard. I have the herbicide at 15 but that doesn’t help much if the mutant bobs just don’t drop any masks.

    • Complete the 3rd and 4th daily task from Cecil it’ll help you earn a lot more masks as well. That will help you upgrade to unlock more characters.

  9. Ugh. Forever needing more land!

When will we be able to purchase more land!?!?
    My town is full😭

  10. Add me at chilihawk9. I play everyday

  11. I am having a really hard time crafting anything. I have only the farmer’s market. Is it possible to get all of the items without donuts?

    • I’ve got the Farmer’s Market and Gas and Grub…without using donuts for crafting. So have several other players. It is possible, you just have to grind. And realize you’re not going to get EVERYTHING. Just pick and choose which items you want and prioritize them.

  12. I was only one hundred DNA short of getting the GasNGrub last night before Act Three began. Tonight I only have 356 DNA and I don’t know where they went. I didn’t craft anything with them and I haven’t upgraded the opera house. Has anyone else lost their DNA?

    • First i’m hearing of this. I would contact EA and let them know. But wait until after 9am EDT (8am CDT) and do the call option.

      • Oops. False alarm. I spent the DNA on the GasNGrub in the wee hours of the morning and it was under construction in the back of the town. I was so tired I forgot! Ugh.

  13. At this point, I can’t tell you how many times my toddler has used my fertilizer for building upgrades when I was super close to getting the Farmers Market. There’s a few Act 3 items I would like but at this rate, I’ll be lucky to craft anything at all.
Really wish signing out of the game wasn’t such a pain. I have to quit the game, open the app again, wait for the log in screen, and then log out.

    • To log out faster go to friends tap handshake button and log out is at the bottom right corner.

    • You can log out easily from the friends menu! Open up the bit where you add friends and there’s the option to log out! If it’s not there just play around with the friends menu because that’s by far the easiest way t of out you’ll find it easily.

    • If you play on android, you could install something like Perfect AppLock. This free app and others like it make you unlock with a pin or password before you can launch TSTO. iPhone must have something similar. You could also try a lock screen on your phone, if you don’t mind entering a pin or password every time you pick up your phone.

  14. I’m a little puzzled. I was able to craft both the gas and grub and the farmers market this morning (yeah!). I still have 5000 fertilizer, 5000 corn, 766 DNA, 283 theater masks, 1668 🎵 and my herbicide thing is at lvl 3, Monsanto lvl 14 and opera lvl 2. I’m going to upgrade a bit the opera, but I don’t see why I would upgrade the two others, the only items I still want to craft are the boathouse obviously and the Bob sign, so I need more fertilizer, DNA and masks. My guess is that at my current rate I’ll have enough materials to craft my two items.. Any advice on upgrading or not ?!?

    • You don’t have to keep upgrading. You can stop. For some people it makes sense to stop earlier. For me I went to Level 19 and got the Gas and Grub a week ago.

  15. Is anyone else finding that it is extremely rare to get theater masks from bob clones, or have I just been really unlucky since act 3 started?

  16. Well the best thing about this event is Krusty singing “we are out of Rice Krispies” I’m not impressed with this event it takes too much time and it’s getting frustrating oh well. I’ve been playing for a few years too just tapping and waiting for the next event.😊

  17. Why doesn’t marge do anything, shes a springfielder that’s something

  18. I just wanted to say how ashamed I am to have Radioactive man in my town, flying around, supposedly protecting everyone yet crime is rampant with Side Show Bob Clones! :'(

Will he and Fallout Boy ever get together and save Springfield!?!?!?!?

    *Nelson voice* HA HA

    • No one finds me funny! :'( now that is a real tear jerker Lol

And yes, like a lot of others complaining I agree, I can see how not so main characters have nothing to do with this event… But someone like Marge… Has no interaction or tasks through the whole thing…. Kind of lame. One would think she would have some involvement. Instead I keep putting her on 24hr tasks like radioactive man, blue haired lawyer, etc.

      • It’s funny how we start relating to our little 2D characters. If you don’t believe me just look at the fall out from Mr Teeny being a NPC for a few weeks, now everyone is upset over how much cigarettes he buys because Krusty is too busy to walk him. In order to avoid memory drain I keep each non crafting earning character on their longest indoor task. Poor Marge has been in church with Helen Lovejoy and the BHL almost non-stop. IDK how much soymilk Artie can drink, Number 1 and Carl have feasted long past their first coronary, Sanjay must be sitting in on the case of the century, supersquad HQ must be super spotless thanks to Fall Out Boy’s efforts and Springfield better get a stellar dentist fast for all my constantly munching candy corn kids.

  19. Hmmm I was able to craft the main items, gas & gulp, bob sign, farmers market etc but did not upgrade the herbicide in act 2 past level 3 until I crafted what I wanted to, by the end of act 2 I had the herbicide to level 9 & left monsarno at 19 so now since the opera house & herbicide both need DNA should I focus tasks & upgrades on the opera house primarily or try & get both upgraded. Appreciate the responses. This smells too much like my least favorite subject, M A T H 😉

  20. So how exactly do u do the two device glitch….

  21. Will there be a post for the upgrades to the Opera and their usefulness?

  22. Does Cecil become a regular character at the end of the event?

  23. I’ve only been able to craft the farmers market so far, nothing more. My monsarno is level 12 (I stopped upgrading to push for the market instead) is it worth it to upgrade it now or should I just leave it and focus of the opera upgrades?

    • It may be worth it for you to upgrade more so you can unlock more DNA tasks…as you’ll need DNA to upgrade the Opera House

  24. Two things: First – love the honesty in this post. I’m ignoring both Building towards the Sky and Running out the Clock unless completed during normal game play. Thank YOU for explaining these so completely!! Second – I see a lot of towns with what looks like the Victorian UFO. . . but have not seen how to acquire it; guessing its from before Stonecutters? That’s when I started.

    • Thank you 🙂 Just didn’t want you guys to stress out about it…because they’re very stressful!

Victorian UFO is from Halloween. Originally 2013, but was re-released in 2014. You never know it may come back this year.

  25. I’ve done very well with this event. I have one question: will I get an extra boost in consumerism if I build more than one farmers market and/or gas-n-grub?

  26. Seems like the Bob clones are only spawning one every 15 minutes instead of every 5. Makes it a bit of a slowdown for squashing, which means coming in more often to squash isn’t an option which gives me more free time to ink my comic 😉

  27. REALLY wish I had read this before sending Lisa put on another 6-hour DNA task – I’ve now, basically, pushed out progress on this questline by a whole day. 🙁

When will I learn? *pounding my fists into my head*

    • did you miss it on the rundown post too? I tried to bold it at the top… 🙁

      • No, no, sorry – I should have been clearer. I’ve already started the questline, but I’m at the point where Lisa need to go read something or do something or something. It takes 4 hours, so I’m going to waste an overnight on a 4-hour task, then all day tomorrow on the subsequent 12-hour task. If I hadn’t sent her on a 6-hour DNA task this afternoon, I could have gotten the 4-hour questline task out of the way, sent her on the 12-hour task overnight, and been in good shape to do whatever comes next tomorrow morning. See what I mean?

So, I’m kicking myself for not thinking to check whether the turbo tappin’ post was up yet before sending folks out on that round of tasks. I should know better by now!!

    • Alissa – Believe it or not, I just spent 2 donuts to rush Lisa’s 4-hour task, so I could put her on that 12-hour task overnight. Not because I thought it was the best thing to do in terms of maximizing my earnings in the game, but because I thought it would just make me feel better. And it did – at least 2 donuts worth of better. 🙂

      • Lol. Why do I suddenly want to get me a fresh donut with sprinkles from the bakery not far from here? 2 of them 😉

      • Oh no, Bunny – don’t get me started on a food craving – I’m in a highly suggestive state and don’t want to get hungry for anything this close to bedtime! I think (hope) the Dunkin Donuts a couple of blocks away is closed by now anyway, but I don’t think I should be going over to check it out lol!

      • Sadist!

      • Donuts are just like chili… They both make you feel good at that moment, but later, one feels like it went down like a rock, and the other, well, you know…

      • Lone Ranger – Fortunately, the 2 donuts I spent to rush Lisa’s 4-hour task are still making me feel good! Just sitting here waiting for her to get through the last few minutes of her 12-hour overnight task so that I can continue the questline…

      • Sandra, I rushed one of Lisa’s tasks purely to get the timing synched with my day. 2 donuts very well spent, imo. No stress to stay awake until 2am to start a 12hr task, for example. Dealing with things at 10am and 10pm instead of 2am and 2pm is definitely worth 2 donuts.

      • If it makes you feel better Sandra, I hit a 30 donut mystery box and just couldn’t wait for the SSB and the Opera house. I rushed Quimby hiding out and the building stage. I’ll see your 2 donuts and raise you 22.

  28. You say that upgrading Monsarno past 19 is not worth it. However I already have the farmers market and most of the buildings were free. Does fertilizer have any more value? Assuming you don’t want the walls I do not see a down side to upgrading further. It seems to me the fractional increase in DNA would be well worth the fertilizer cost and corn is so easy to obtain. Is there something I’m missing?

    • It’s such a minimal increase…plus it requires corn which you need a bunch of for act 3 crafting. I still don’t recommend it…but it’s up to you if you wanna do it. Just remember some levels won’t increase the DNA output at all…

    • If I could have my time again, I would have upgraded to level 25/26/27+, but I think it’s a bit late now. I’m at 22 and am seriously thinking about going to 23. The only thing stopping me is the knowledge that I’ll have missed out on 2 weeks worth of extra DNA! The thing is, I’ve got fertiliser and corn to burn, and nothing really to spend it on, so why not?

  29. ellabella7671

I feel like I must be doing something wrong on this event. I play at least 3 times a day but still haven’t accumulated enough event currency to craft any of the larger items. I know there is still a lot of time left to play but I feel that my chances of crafting the market, gas n grub and the Simpsons house boat are slim at this point.
On the superhero event I felt like I was much further ahead by this point in the gameplay.

    • I completely agree! I play pretty regularly and with all the upgrading, it’s been impossible to craft anything. This is the slowest event I have played since starting right around Halloween. It’s not fun like the others, it just feels like work.

  30. So I missed Doc Robert by a few hours and now he isn’t in my craft-able menu. Any ideas?
