In-Game Update: 4th of July 2015

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Just when you think you’re safe for the night..EA pulls you back in! It’s the 4th of July in Springfield! We certainly didn’t think EA would forget about Independence Day in Springfield but honestly, I thought this would hit tomorrow (Wednesday)…so my apologies this is a bit late. Was settled in for the night watching USA soccer!

Anywho…we’ve got ourselves a little 4th of July update, inside Tap Ball!

Tap Ball Prize Guide: Act 1, Prize 1 Homertron

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Are you ready for some Tap Ball!? Tap Ball is the newest sensation sweeping the streets of Springfield. A game invented by our very own Homer J Simpson! In the First “Act” of the Tap Ball Event (funny they’re called Acts, really they should be called Periods like Hockey. Oh EA, it thought you knew sports 😉 ) you’ll unlock Referee Homer, Soccer Lisa, Pin Pal Apu, Build a Stadium (with a little help from Duff, the Kwik-E-Mart, Costington’s and Stupid Flanders) and challenge your friends and neighbors to some friendly Tap Ball competitions!

This Event is broken up into 3 Acts (again, should be called Periods EA…), with each Act containing part of the story. To help you move along with the event you’ll get several prizes per Act. Each prize will either be something fun for Springfield or something to help you move along in the event. For the First Act you’re tasked with collecting Foam Fingers () to unlock each prize! The First Act 1 prize awarded at 1,900 is the Homertron, a new state of the art scoreboard for your Stadium!

Tap Ball is sweeping the streets of Springfield and the players are bringing in the bucks! Amateur Bucks that is! So what can you do with all those Amateur Bucks you’re earning? Spend them at, what else, the Amateur Shop of course!

The Amateur Shop is basically the crafting option for this event. Except instead of having to collect multiple items to craft 1 thing, you only need to collect Amateur Bucks (). So it’s like crafting and shopping in one. If you have enough Amateur Bucks to buy something, you can.

So now let’s go over all of the options in the Amateur Shop for Act 1 and break down all of the “goodies” you can pick up with your Bucks…

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Tap Ball is sweeping the streets of our Springfields and during this first Act of the event a few characters get into it and actually play Tap Ball! Two characters have been added to our games since the event launched…one was added to the store and the other is awarded via the Daily Training Tasks. Football Nelson is available in our stores as a premium skin and Boxer Tatum is awarded for free via the Daily Training Tasks, but of course you’ll have to have Tatum to use it.

Both characters come with a complete questline, something to keep you busy tapping while you’re waiting to play your next Tap Ball match! So let’s take a look at the quick walkthrough for Football Nelson and Boxer Tatum…

Due to POPULAR request….we’ve moving up our open thread time so that our friends outside of the US can participate too! Let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!

Now…enough rambling from me….it IS Sunday and you know what that means, right? Time for another Open Thread!

Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

So…here is your Open Thread. The Tap Ball Event hit our events last week, what are your thoughts on the event so far? How’s your overall team record? The NBA Draft was this past week, did your team draft anyone good? Woman’s World Cup is in full swing, knock out round, how’s your team doing? Sunday Night Baseball tonight features the Cubs at the Cardinals, will you be watching? How was your weekend? Do anything fun an exciting?

Episode Recap: Let’s Go Fly a Coot

Hey y’all…

So Season 26 of The Simpsons ended on 17 May… Boooo! Of course, here on the site we love to give you episode recaps for all those who can’t watch the show or those who like our crazy summaries of all the goodness and then real life happens and a certain walking carpet falls behind on doing his recaps… Booo-urns! But wait, two boos? No more new Simpsons and I’m behind on four episode reviews… how to spin this into something good?

(LIGHT BULB)

I know… since there will be many weeks without any new Simpsons… I can just write the reviews and then space them out for my favorite readers so in a makes sense to a Wookiee sort of way, there ARE new Simpsons episodes for everyone (just offset by a 5 or 6 week period in the space-time continuum)… GENIUS!!! (pats self on fuzzy back)

That’s my complicated explanation for these recaps coming a wee bit late. It’s all serendipity. So without further ado, let’s take a look at the second in a four part “better late than never but technically NEW” series… Season 26, Episode 20: “Let’s Go Fly a Coot”.
