Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
The final Terwilliger Act has arrived in Springfield…Act 3…and Cecil’s final incentive to inspire the residents of Springfield to like him is to build an Opera House!
So, now that you have the back story let’s talk about the Opera House. The Opera House is basically the key to the final act of the event. Once you’ve started Act 3 you’ll unlock the ability to upgrade the Opera House and earn the newest crafting currency, Theater Masks. To craft items in Act 3 you’ll need Theater Masks (as well as various other items). One way you’ll get more Theater Masks is by sending characters on various tasks for these items. And the way to unlock these character tasks? Leveling up your Opera House!
Now that Act 3 has arrived it’s opened up a whole new set of Leveling up options …an infinite number in fact! So we gave you a quick breakdown of what each level does in the Act 3 Rundown Post. But I know you guys love the details..so let’s take a closer look at what it takes and what happens when you Level Up the Opera House during Act 3…
Before I get into the Act 3 Level Up Details…you got it…let’s quickly recap the Leveling up basics for those that have may have forgotten…
Note: For those of you that don’t have the Opera House….you NEED to finish the Act 2 questline to get it. (ie Unlock Sideshow Bob). You can find more details on what you need to do here.
How Do I Upgrade?
Note: The Opera House Upgrade Bug was fixed. You can now Upgrade the Opera House by tapping on it (in addition to the steps below)
Upgrading the Opera House is a bit different than upgrading Monsarno, as in right now there’s only one way to upgrade. Right now the only way to upgrade the Opera House is tap on the event menu (remember you access that via the Knife Trophy on the bottom right of your screen…icon looks like this:
). And the last item listed is the Opera House Upgrade screen (you’ll have to scroll down to get it):
See the Opera House Icon? That’s the one you’ll want to be on.
Right now you cannot upgrade by tapping on the Opera House. Eventually EA may fix this, but for now you can only upgrade through the event menu.
What’s Needed to Upgrade?
DNA and Theatre Masks. The same stuff needed for Crafting. Different amounts are needed to upgrade to a new level. (we’ll get to that in a minute)
How Do I Earn DNA and Theater Masks?
A few ways. Both items can be earned from clearing Bob Clones and Mutant Blobs (from Mutant Seedlings your neighbors leave in your town). Note: They DO fall from Bob Clones, they’re just rare. So it may be a while before you see them…but they will fall from Bob Clones.
You can also earn both DNA and Theater Masks from completing Cecil’s Daily Tasks. Just note that you must get to (and complete) at least the 3rd Daily task from Cecil to earn Theater Masks. Theater Masks are the rewards for completing the 3rd and 4th Daily Task from Cecil.
You can also earn both items by completing character tasks. For DNA you’ll send your characters on tasks at Monsarno (details here). For Theater Masks you’ll automatically start with a task for Kooks to earn Masks at the Opera House (even before you upgrade). Kooks will have a 12hr tasks as soon you unlock the ability to upgrade the Opera House.
And now…let’s look at the new stuff….
What Happens When I Upgrade?
Well, at each upgrade point you’ll unlock more stuff. This stuff could be tasks to earn Theater Masks, new craftable items or higher payouts on existing tasks. Here’s a look at what you’ll earn at each Level:
Remember for a list of who’s in which group check out Bunny’s post on Cecil’s Daily tasks.
Level 1 unlocks a job for Kooks to get masks (what you start with…12hr task for Kooks. Earns 13 Masks)
Level 2 unlocks a job for Celebrities to get masks
Level 3 unlocks the Opera seats (you’ll be awarded one for FREE) and increases mask payouts from jobs
Level 4 unlocks a job for Youngsters to get masks
Level 5 unlocks the Ticket Booth (you’ll earn one for FREE) and increases mask payouts from jobs.
Level 6 unlocks a job for Entrepreneurs to get masks
Level 7 unlocks Opera Seats (yes again for FREE) and increases mask payouts from jobs
Level 8 unlocks a job for Criminals to get masks.
Level 9 unlocks a job for Saints to get masks.
Level 10+ increases mask payouts
There is no cap on level upgrades for Act 3…so you won’t reach the max.
How Much Does It Cost to Upgrade at Each Level?
Here’s the breakdown…

*At Level 4 (once you’ve upgraded to it) you’ll unlock the 3-Day Theater Mask Sale in the store. 625 Masks for 25 Donuts. (I’m not planning on doing a SIB on this. It’s purely a…if you need them/want them and have the donuts get them. Pros and cons are self explanatory)
For each level you want to increase your Opera to after Level 15, add 100 DNA and 225 Theater Masks to the previous requirement. That’s how much it’ll cost to upgrade to that level. Each level after 15 will increase Theater Mask Payout slightly (remember…it’s not on all tasks, just some)
What Are the Payouts for the Character Tasks?
Here’s what upgrades look like for the first 10 Levels
| Task | Length | Unlocks At | Earns Lvls 1-2 | Earns Lvls 3-4 | Earns Lvls 5-6 | Earns Lvls 7-9 | Earns Lvl 10 |

What Happens When I’ve Reached the Max Level?
There is no Max Level in this one…so be careful and don’t burn all your resources on upgrading to get to the Max, cause you won’t reach it.
If There’s No Max Level, When Should I Stop?
That’s really up to you. You’ve got to decide which tasks/payout upgrades you want & what’s worth it to you. However, I recommend NOT upgrading past Level 9 (and that will be my own strategy as well). If you unlock to Level 9 you’ll unlock all of the character tasks (including ones for Saints and Entrepreneurs..they’ll FINALLY get used!), which will help earn loads of masks quickly. But as you can see the increase in payouts from Level 10 and up is pretty small. IMO it’s just not worth the resources to upgrade there. But again…it’s up to you.
So DNA and Theater Masks Are Required for BOTH Crafting and Upgrading, Which Should We Focus On?
I’ve been saying it since Act 1…Upgrade, Upgrade, Upgrade! The more tasks/characters you have earning for you the better off you’ll be.
However, just like I said when Act 2 started with the Farmer’s Market..if you’re close to the Gas and Grub (like a couple of thousand away), I would continue working towards crafting that to get it out of your way and then you can focus on the new items. BUT that was just my opinion and what I would do. At the end of the day, you’ve got to do what you think is best for you.
What About the Opera House items, How Do I Craft Those/What’s Up With Them?
As noted above Levels 3, 5 and 7 will unlock Opera House “accessories”…
At Level 3 AND Level 7 you’ll unlock the Opera Seating:
You’ll be given one for free once you reach Level 3 AND Level 7 (yup you’ll get 2 free)…
And you can craft additional ones via the crafting Menu. Here’s what’s required to craft more Seats..
900 ![]()
3,400 ![]()
At Level 5 you’ll unlock the Opera House Ticket Booth:
You’ll also be given one for free once you reach Level 5…
And you can craft additional ones via the crafting Menu. Here’s what’s required to craft more Ticket Booths…
400 ![]()
1,700 ![]()
So if you like them and want more than 1 (or 2 in the case of the seating) you can continue to craft after you’ve gotten your free ones.
And that my friends concludes the info on the Opera House Upgrades for Act Three!
What are your thoughts on upgrading? Have you upgraded yet? Thoughts on the character tasks associated with earning more Theater Masks? What are your thoughts on the event overall so far? Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

I’m assuming there will not be an Act 4?
I feel bad for everyone at the lower levels. I’m at Level 52 with some premium characters, and I’m still struggling.
Farmer’s Marker (15250 Fertilizer/4600 Corn) – 3 Acts to earn – Success
Gas & Grub (4600 Corn/8300 DNA) – 2 Acts to earn – 3000 DNA to go Houseboat (4000 Corn/9600 Masks) – 1 Act to earn – 9000 Masks to go
As far as we can tell…no act 44.
OMG – I sure hope there’s no Act 44….this event feels pretty long as it is LOL! 😉
Love your Origin handle, technomensch! Lol!
I feel your pain, bit the bullet and spent 20 precious donuts (made the mistake of buying a corn field) to get the farmers market before act 3, got gas and grub ok though. Should be ok for the rest… fingers crossed…
Same here- Level 52 premium player and seems like there’s no possible way to get enough DNA no matter how hard I try. Anyone else REALLY struggling with that one? (I mean, by far worse than anything else…)
I’m struggling more for masks than for DNA – upgrading the Opera House requires a lot more masks than DNA, so that’s what I’m always waiting to amass enough of.
You’re not alone. I’m still about 2000 DNA away from the gas and grub. I’m grinding away before I start to focus on upgrading the opera house but then I’m not certain I’ll be able to get everything I need for the house boat. I’m not even considering any of the other prizes, it’s just too hard to get all the materials and I’m limited on space anyway. My task bar is so full, I haven’t even started the quests for the episode tie in or level 52 because I don’t want to take anyone away!
DNA’s the toughest to collect. Payouts on character tasks are low and the upgrades get pricey. Cecil’s tasks pays out a pittance on DNA compared to the other crafting currency.
Sandra- I’m struggling for masks, too, but based on the number of characters who can earn them, the amount earned once the opera house is at level 9, and the frequency I play, it looks like I’ll be in the clear with time to spare. The problem I’m running into is I’m severely lacking in the celebrity category, and that’s a biggie for earning DNA. (I’ve only got 7 of 16!) I’m only averaging about 300/day, so I’ll have some tough choices to make at the end of the event for crafting priority.
lekittynoir- Sorry it seems we’re in the same (house)boat on this one. I keep wishing the farmers market was interactive, where we could trade in corn/fertilizer for other items. Then it would be smooth sailing! 😉
Alissa- any idea what the payout increase in DNA would be from Monsarno level 21 to 22? With so much corn and fertilizer to spare, I’m seriously considering it if DNA payouts increase on that level change.
Thanks for the replies, all! 🙂
It’s minimal. Like 1 or 2 in some areas but not all..
DNA is the slowest for me but I don’t really need it for anything. I’d quite like the Homer Decoy, but I’ve got enough for that so it doesn’t really bother me.
Now that I’ve finished upgrading my Opera House, I’m not sure there’s much I still need DNA for. I already have the Gas and Grub, I’m not interested in the Homer decoy – right now, my number one priority is the houseboat. I’m hoping to go back and get the smokehouse and at least two stands of cane, so corn is my other priority (I have plenty of fertilizer…who would have thought they would ever say that, when we were back in Act 1?).
I guess it’s fortunate that, of the “smaller” craftables (in other words, not the farmer’s market, Gas and Grub, or houseboat), the ones that generally interest me the most are the ones from Act 1. 🙂
I’ve finally got the Opera House (missed out on the Payback quest in Act 2!) but nothing is happening with it. It’s not listed when I click on the knife trophy. When I click on Opera House, it says the reward is $90 and XP10. I’m sure I read somewhere here that the reward should be masks. None of my characters have any tasks that send them to the Opera House! What am I doing wrong?? Thanks
You’ll need to start the Act 3 questline in order to get the Opera House to start. First part you need Lisa for and then you have to squish 25 Bob Clones (Make sure you start the quest first, don’t just tap…otherwise they won’t count).
http://tstoaddicts.com/2015/05/13/terwilligers-guide-to-leveling-up-the-opera-house-act-three/
The quest line has never opened for me to get the opera house, has anybody else had this problem?
What tasks are currently sitting in your task bar?
I’m looking forward to reaching Level 9 and probably stopping right there, the Opera House + Theater Seats + Ticket Booths is just fine with me as that is probably all I have room for until EA allows us to buy more land (lol) 🙂
you must have quite the crowded town… would love to see some screenshots!
I wish EA was more inline with Simpsons mythos…in my estimation, Luann should be an entrepreneur for sure, and doesn’t FleetAPita make a few more ladies entrepreneurs? Most of the characters that don’t have crafting material task are entrepreneurs, come to think of it! What gives?
Great questions for EA…i agree with you. Every character should have a purpose/group.
Ned should be an entrepeneur too. Remember the Leftorium?
I was just wondering the same thing! Mostly about Luann and the rest of the Investorettes, but I didn’t even think about Ned and the Leftorium!
I did but ruled it out cos it wasn’t exactly a roaring success. Bart, Homer, Marge and Grampa have all done more entrepreneurial stuff than the leftorium
Great comments as always and appreciate Drews’s math. I upgraded to level 7, and I think I am happy there.
I have almost all the people I could have making masks for the night of sleep and I did a quick est that there are approx 1100 masks being made overnight. Plus I still have a ton of folks getting DNA, Corn and Fert. Goal is to the boat, then work backwards. I have the G&G and Springfield Market, no don’t need those.
I doubt I will level up to 8 or 9 though while the 2 hr tasks are nice I can’t be a slave to the game.
I hate this event. This is the event that made me downgrade from Premium to Freemium, and I have purchased tons of Premium content. This event is a blatant attempt to overwhelm with crafts led so you feel compelled to buy them before they expire, and the constant label of ‘Limited Time Premium’ means I no longer value Premium items. If everything is premium then nothing’s really premium, it’s just a cash grab. Deeply dissatisfied.
I’m not sure why you’re feeling that “everything is premium” with this event. While I have had some frustrations with this event, I’ve definitely appreciated the huge number of freemium items I’ve received so far, and will receive before the end of the event (assuming I keep playing as I have been).
But the end of this event, I should have, at minimum,
– Sideshow Bob (one of the most requested characters!)
– a whole Monsarno campus (five buildings!)
– the Simpsons’ farm house
– the farmer’s market
– Gas and Grub
– Dr. Terwilliger
– the Opera House (plus seats and ticket booth)
– the police department blimp
– the house boat (fingers crossed)
– a new skin for Krusty (forgot to check whether it earns at premium rates), and
– the Sani-John Smokehouse (and/or one or two cane fields).
We may also get Cecil, but that remains to be seen…
So, even if you take out the crafted items (although I can’t imagine anyone not being able to craft anything), that still leaves at least 11 freemium items from this event. (I feel like I may have missed something else, but I don’t have the time to research this.) Plus, in addition to all of that, there’s also been the opportunity to win several donuts, from the bonus rounds.
So, while I think that there are definitely some legitimate things to complain about with this event, a lack of freemium items is definitely not one of them, IMO!
You for got SSB’s mom 😉
Oh, yeah, Alissa – probably because I haven’t gotten there yet. Thanks for the add-on! 🙂
lol it’s what I’m here for 😉
You completely discounted my statement on the crafting. I check in regularly with my game, but right now I have to decide between upgrading the Opera House or going for the Gas and Grub. That’s not a light decision because the game is so heavily weighted in favor of corn over almost anything else at this point. That’s a game balance issue, and it’s balanced the way it is because EA wants people to feel compelled to pay up for those crafted items they might miss. I’ve never felt the game become so cash grabby as it has through the course of this event.
Jason – I’m sorry…I didn’t intentionally discount anything, I just didn’t understand what you were saying when you said something about because there is so much crafting, you feel compelled to buy limited-time premium items. So I decided to just respond to the part I thought I did understand, which was your statement “if everything is premium, then nothing’s really premium,” because I couldn’t understand how you could feel that, for this event, “everything is premium.”
Yea, this one went too far in the cash grabby category for me too. Luckily it’s an event with prizes that I don’t care much about either…
while you may feel this event is a blatant attempt to overwhelm and compel, others may feel like this is ea’s attempt at introducing strategy into a FREE game that often involves nothing but mindless tapping. sure, it requires a lot more grinding and overall attention than any prior event, and that is why there is so much FREE stuff that can be potentially earned, as sandra nicely pointed out. potentially being the key word, as a lack of planning and effort could result in too much of one resource, like say corn….
and i can’t speak for you, but i NEVER feel compelled to spend my donuts on rushing anything, whether it is for crafting or speeding up quests or whatever, and it’s no different for me in this event. all it really takes is a bit of patience and coordination on your part, and it’s not that difficult to acquire most of the stuff that can be got. i dunno how much you follow this site, but these guys do an AWESOME job breaking everything down; if you actually take the time to read all the related posts and comments about this event (they even got math!) you should have little trouble determining the best way to proceed with upgrading and tasking…. so you don’t end up with too much corn.
the bottom line is, this is a free game, with arguably more than enough free stuff thrown at us on a regular basis. i dunno why people just automatically expect all that free stuff to come so easily. a system like this allows freemium players who play more to be rewarded with more, which is pretty cool for those unable or unwilling to spend precious donuts on rushing tasks and crafts. personally, i’d rather participate in an event like this where i gotta think about my moves and get myself into position to craft what i decide i want, than an event that revolves around a wheel of randomness and spits out a bunch of the same crap that i don’t want. but hey, to each his own.
I get what your saying, Tapebelt, and what Jason is saying. The people on this blog really help out with guiding us, and we all appreciate that – that’s why we’re here, and to share our experiences. But it is a ton of effort in this event. I think what Jason is ultimately feeling frustrated with is the effort vs rewards. Five Monsarno buildings that look exactly alike aren’t the coolest rewards. I would have rather gotten a cactus patch as opposed to that or several boxes of corn. It’s great that EA is introducing more strategy to the game, but the tapping and logging in and grinding out of tasks is exhausting and people should be able to enjoy what they’re getting for the effort. You don’t really know how much effort Jason has been putting into the game or following the blog, so it’s pretty weird of you to assume that he or anyone else wants everything easy just because they’re tired of doing this. If you’re happy with what you have then be happy. I think essentially we all want the same thing and that is fairness. And while you may feel things are going your way a little better than usual, some other people don’t. Even you have to admit EA doesn’t get it right ALL the time. Ultimately, I don’t think all problems can be solved by advocating one playing style over the other.
@marymeat
this event IS a ton of effort. i stated as much in my post, and it’s obviously intentional on ea’s part to have more reward possibilities for those that put in the most effort. with a family of 4 and a full time job, i admit it’s more effort than i’d like to be putting in. however, if i wasn’t enjoying what i was getting out of it, i wouldn’t bother putting in that effort. buildings are one of my most coveted items, and i’d much rather receive a free set of buildings for the monsarno research campus than a cactus patch, or more corn. but beauty is in the eye of the beholder, right? i think that’s important to keep in mind; this is just a game (and a free one), and regardless of what ea decides to do with an event, there will be some people that are happy and some people that aren’t. no matter what the free rewards are, and despite how many are offered, ea is not gonna be able to please everyone. the nice thing about this event is, if you want some cactus patches, at least there’s an opportunity to gather the necessary resources and craft them yourself.
that seems pretty fair to me, and apparently ea feels the same way for this particular event. what, in your opinion, constitutes fairness? must every player that participates in the event be able to get every free or craftable item offered? or should players who put more effort in be able to reap more benefits? i missed out on the clausco and costingtons buildings (and mr costington) during the xmas 2013 event, due to the now infamous holiday prize wheel. is it fair that people who participated in the event less than i did were able to get those prizes, simply because lady luck shined brighter on them? i don’t think so, and i know many others felt the same way. but i went into that event knowing it was based on chance, i participated anyway and got some cool stuff, and am still playing the game to this day. you know, because i’m happy with what i have, so i’ll be happy……
you’re right though, i don’t know how much effort the guy has been putting into the event, or how much he follows this site. but based on his own comments, he appears to think the event is heavy on corn and suffers from a game balance issue, when it seems more like he just suffers from a grinding imbalance issue. since the start of the event, i have spent more fertilizer than any other resource on upgrades and crafting, and i currently have over 10k more fert than i do corn. why? that’s where i knew i wanted to focus the majority of my grinding, with only dna and masks as a higher priority. so if i feel things are going my way, it’s probably because i did my homework and figured out what i needed to do to make that happen. it’s not about advocating one playing style over another, it’s about “beating the game,” which in this case would involve knowing what needs to be done to to maximize rewards in this event.
does ea get it right all the time? haha not at all, they constantly make questionable decisions about this game. i wasn’t thrilled when they reduced the spawn rate of the bob clones and decreased the gas mask drops from 5 to 3. and my biggest issue isn’t a lack of dna, but rather the fairly high resource costs of the small craftable items (cane field, flower walls, cactus patch). that’s hardly a cash grab though, and not nearly a compelling enough reason to go blowing donuts on them. they are more like the superfluous items you stock up on at the end, after crafting the big ticket items. and trust me, if you put enough effort into this event, it’s entirely possible to craft all the big ticket items at least once, without having to spend any premium currency rushing them. believe it or not, ea should actually be commended for that fact, because the same can’t be said of its competition…
Why would you feel “compelled” to buy the things you couldn’t craft?
I’m quite the opposite, I look at the extortionately high cost of buying things and think “Why on earth would anybody pay real money for that?”
I don’t understand what it is you’re unhappy with. There’s loads of free stuff, there’s quite a bit of premium stuff and there’s loads in between that you can either put the effort in and build for free or pay through the nose to buy.
What would you have liked to have seen?
I didn’t get the opera house.. I preferred the last quest because I had just started playing and I was able to get the prize. this one is super unfair if you dont have what you need to get through some of the levels. unfortunately I missed out no playing for a few days due to moving and its going to be much harder to progress. I think if people miss things like this there should be an opportunity to buy the items so we can have a chance, ESPECIALLY if that item is needed to proceed the next act. this makes me want to throw in the towel. my boyfriend did
It’s only needed to proceed to the next act questline. You can still get the act 3 prizes without it.
Hi There.
I don’t know if this is the right palace to ask this, but Anyway…
If i have The extra fertilizer, what should i do?
1. Craft The “smaller” items
2. Craft another farmers market
3. Craft more monsarno buildings
4. Keep evolving monsarno
What would you do?
My monsarno is already lvl 22, i have a farmers market And a gas station And i have more or less 20k fertilizer and 13k corn to spare (need The masks for The boat now).
Thanks!
I wouldn’t upgrade Monsarno any further. Personally…I would wait until the last couple days of the event. See how much more you accumulate and then craft more items. (That’s what I’m doing)
If you are level 40+ i understand you will want to upgrade to level 9, since you have plenty of characters for fert, corn and dna or already gathered enough of those materials.
But upgrading to level 8 isnt worth it below level 28 and upgrade to level 9 isnt worth it below level 32.
Also consider if some of these characters may be better put to work on fertilizer, corn or dna when you are a lower level (and already playing catchup).

Been playing for 8 weeks now and only was level 17 when Act 1 started, i seem to be level 30 now because i have the task to build Herman’s Military Antiques but still need 20k money (Fat Tony’s Compound is being build right now).
I did focus on leveling up and not on the event too much, because as a too low level you not able to play the event decent anyways.
Also build myself a little housefarm, squidport upto flying dutchman and krustyland upto wet&smokey.
For the event i didnt craft anything in act 1, so i had some materials to reach level 15 on the squirter as quick as possible (shame the spawn rate of the greeny blobs isnt 5 minutes anymore or i would easy have gotten 1 of each item). Research center is on level 14 and the opera stage level 4. Also crafted the canefield, smokehouse, market, gas and grub. And i have right now 7350 fert, 7500 corn, 3700 dna and 600 masks.
So thats enough corn for the boat (4600), enough fert for the cactus (4500). Iam upgradig the opera stage to level 7 and keep the criminals and saints collecting fert, dna and corn.
I want the 2nd set of Opera Seats from the level 7 upgrade and the extra payout is a nice bonus. Iam not worried being short on masks (9600) for the boat and cactus (2800) if i only upgrade to level 7.
If i dont get enough masks for the decoy (5300) i could care less since i then probally have some dna spare to build 2 or 3 flowers walls and maybe enough fert and corn for another 2 cane fields. Iam not getting the bob sign since i rather spend that dna on flower walls or the decoy.
shout out to everyone in my origin friendlist, an awful lot of you guys seem to be on here 🙂 p.s. only 10 spots left ^^
p.s.s. why didnt i start playing the simpsons way earlier when you could still build cheap housefarms, stupid me for not having a smartphone yet, and sticking with my nokia from 1999 😛
p.s.s.s seen every episode of every season ever and the series is even better now i started playing simpsons tapped for some weird reason 🙂
p.s.s.s.s. nice website, its the s*** 😛
Can somebody link me the payouts for the Research Centre and the Herbicider?
Probably should of upgraded earlier but their levels are 14 and 9 respectively but around 5000 of the first 3 materials left to upgrade or save for the Gas and Grub or Houseboat
These?

Not really going to pay attention to the masks, the only thing I want to craft is the gas and grub.
I’ll never get all the prizes.. =@
Any expectations about a few more days of event??
Nothing yet. Right now we can only go by the end date in the game of May 26th
You are a saint answering these questions over and over again. A definite example of motherhood “hold your utensils correctly, do your homework, what do you mean by the teacher said that, no, cookies are not healthy, You Need to wear What for your orchestra concert tomorrow? ”
Life really is so much fun, isn’t it?
lol as one of the readers stated I’ve already got lots of practice with the Addicts 😉
Do you think, if they add any days at all, it will be for things like completing Dr Robert’s quest (and Dame Judith’s, if she has one), or possibly the main quest-line rather than collecting crafting items? Just a thought.
Kill dates usually indicate the questlines being pulled. For example for the episode tie-in the end date is May 19th, but the kill date is June 19th. That’s when they’ll pull the questline. So it could be that extra 10 days is just for questline stuff. I’m honestly not sure how it will play out. I am hoping EA makes an announcement or adjustment in game soon. I can just imagine how upset people will be if they spent donuts on stuff because it was supposed to end the 26th and they ended up with an extra 10 days.
IT SEEMS IMPOSSIBLE TO CRAFT ONE OF EVERYTHING!!!!
not including the free items earned through leveling up
WHAT THE HELL, EA!??!?!
After finally crafting an item (the farmers market), I did the math for how much of each resource and I needed and I need about
20500 fertilizer
2100 corn
9900 DNA (not including amount needed for upgrading opera stage)
17300 theatre masks (not including amount for upgrading opera stage)
to craft the rest
HOW AM SUPPOSE TO GET THIS IN 12 DAYS!!?!?!!?!
Maybe…just maybe…you’re not supposed to craft 1 of everything. Maybe you’re supposed to pick and choose which items you want and prioritize. Since you get prizes from just collecting Music Notes (and various other items) as well.
Agreed.
I know in other events attaining one or more of every prize was doable. But with this event EA is really making you think and choose which items you want…and which you can live without.
But if I did get all the stuff (including multiples of things like flower walls) I’d run out of room for it all. Which is why I have a gazillion castle walls and pieces in storage. I was able to get it but now I don’t know what to do with it.
Damnit you got there first :p
I like what they have done, in the past people have complained that it was a rubbish event because it had no prizes they wanted, well this has thrown a lot of prizes at us, some I love, some I’m not fussed about, so I can pick and choose those I like or want for my Springfield. Maybe they are finally listening to us and giving us options. Keep complaining like this and they may decide we don’t want free items and drastically cut down what they offer! Just choose what you like best, go for that first then work backwards down your list, then you get the best stuff that’s what I’m doing! For example most people are going gaga over the house boat (fair enough) but that doesn’t bother me I want the gas and grub and the Springfield board and maybe some desert squares because that is what will suit my town. Don’t fret just collect what you can and see what you can get with it, and just be happy with what you get it’s free after all. If you don’t like it, be creative with it, I used brown houses and nut cracker dolls to make a marine base! Be inventive 🙂
what happened to Work the Land 60min for fertilizer? Guess I won’t be getting the farmers market
It’s still there. just not highlighted. But still in the Kook’s list.
Work the Land (1 hr) and Don’t Care About the Future (2 hrs) are still there, but no longer highlighted or at the top of the list. Add in the bug that makes the task list disappear just as you’re about to tap and it’s quite maddening. I’m starting to empathize with Sideshow Bob.
So once the 13 days are up the crafting is over? Worst event ever, so stressful. I’ve only crafted the Farmers Market and that resulted in me having to spend donuts. Trying to focus on the simpsons boathouse but doesn’t look like I will make it in time.
Not interested in crafting, I prefer efficiency over good looks anyway
Hi, just wanted to offer some hope to those worrying about earning resources for crafting. I haven’t spent doughnuts and Monsarno is lvl 19, herbicide squirter is lvl 15 and opera house is lvl 5 (6 by the end of the day).
I haven’t crafted everything, my tactic has been to level up in the first few days of each act then stockpile materials til the end of the event. This approach has allowed me to craft, farmers market, the smokehouse, 2 cane fields and the gas station. I’m no where near being able to craft anything else right now but it’s definitely a marathon not a sprint.
Thanks as ever, without the tips and advice on this site I would be a bit lost.
I’ve been counting and I need more of a DNA sale then masks for the time left, as I’ve said previously I will not have time to get everything in an event I don’t think, which is a first.
P.S as always need more land lots more land
Enough, already, with the CORN!!
I have nearly 15,000 corn.
I need DNA and Masks. Only have 6,000 fertilizer, 5,000 DNA and 650 Masks. I don’t got to see no more stinkin’ Corn (apologies to the ghost of the Treasure of Sierra Madre)
lol – all my Mutant Bob plants and neighbours’ blobs seem to drop corn, corn and more corn! I’ve got a ton of fertiliser too though. Might burn some of it on a pointless upgrade to the research centre! At least it’ll give me a few extra DNA.
Ohh and I haven’t used any doughnuts to do anything.
In lvl 52 and gave monsarno at lvl 14 herbicide at lvl 3 and opera at lvl 2 and I have managed to craft the farmers market and the gas and grub thing. But now I’m not sure what to do regarding upgrading I really want the simpsons house boat!
Upgrade the Opera House…at least to level 7, depending on how many characters you have for the last 2…otherwise go to 9.
Thanks 👍 😃
I would also suggest looking at the info for leveling up your herbicide squirter. You, of course, have to spend resources to upgrade it, but the payouts per squished Bob clone increase dramatically. Think about how often you go into the game, keep in mind that you reach the max 40 clones in eight hours, and remember that you don’t know if you will receive fertilizer, corn, DNA or masks (I believe the last two don’t show up nearly as often as the first two, particularly the masks), and then do the math to see roughly how long it will take you to earn back the resources you will use upgrading the squirter and then how much faster you will be able to earn resources moving forward. Many squirter upgrades only increase the radius of your squirt, and I know that is frustrating, but at level three you’re just not getting substantial help from squishing Bob clones.
I only have 2 criminals and 2 saints. I usually love 1 and 2 hour tasks but I am not sure if it is worth it for me. I guess it all depends on whether we get these extra few days after the event to get materials and craft…
If you only have 2 of each it’s not worth going beyond level 7, no way.
But, do you *really* only have 2 of each?
Don’t forget, Cecil and Bob are both criminals. You *must* have Herman, surely? Who do you have out of
Herman, Quimby, Fat Tony, Snake, Legs, Louie?
They just dropped a small update that allows the opera house to be upgraded by clicking on it. 🙂
I’ve been wanting the Springfield Farmers Market since the beginning of this quest, but it seems with all the upgrades I’m never going to get it. I’m on level 27 of the Monsarno Research building and stopped upgrading Fink’s Herbicide at Level 15. Should I continue upgrading the Research building? Just thinking if I do stop I might finally get the Market. But I know you suggest we upgrade because it gives us more rewards. Any suggestions, aside from spending donuts?
Thanks!
Abby_Oscar
How come you’re still upgrading Monsarno? We advised everyone to stop on 19…anything beyond that just isn’t worth it. Stop upgrading Mosnarno…
Darn, I missed that post!
Thanks Alissa!
I think this is copy paste I’m sure to help posting same strategy for leveling. Saw one part you say, stopped at level 15 but then a line later you day suggest to stop at level 10. I copyed the herbicder strategy? 😉 hope you get what I’m saying
For the Opera House don’t upgrade past 9. That’s my recommendation. The reason it says I stopped at level 15 is in my B game. I stopped upgrading at 15 to get you guys the results…but i do not recommend upgrading past 9 (and in my main, A, game I won’t be)
Ahh I see. I couldn’t imagine playing multiple games lol.

Ahh I see. I couldn’t imagine playing multiple games lol.
================================================
Sadly, I play three games.
Need more time. I am still a little under 2 thousand away from gas and go.
Hey everyone,
I was wondering where we can post or send requests to EA to extend the event for at least a few days, hopefully a week or even ten days. What is the best place to let EA know we need more time. In a previous post, Alissa, I think you said something about seeing ten extra days in the files. Do you think this means they prob will add time?
As far as my progress for the event goes, at the end of act 1 I crafted the farmers market, yesterday I crafted the gas and grub, and the only other prizes I have to have are the house boat and the welcome to springfield sign. I’m at 19 for monsarno, 15 for the sprayer, and almost to level 5 on the opera stage which I will go up to 9 and stop there. Also, I have gotten all the main event prizes(ssb’s parents, minimum security prision, etc.) and I’m about 1500 music notes from opera krusty.
One other quick question. I have enough donuts to get either bumblebee man or Hans moleman (both of which are on my want list). Which one is more valuable for this event and do you think it’s worth it to get one of them now or wait? I know it’s up to me but since I do want them, if they will help, I might get one now. Thanx and have fun.
Alissa, I was curious if you or yr husband have a preference of a boy or girl and is this yr first child(if that’s too personal, I understand, I’m just curious. Once again congrats.
Yes, there’s a kill date in the files. But all the internal timers inside the game have been changed to show the end date as May 26th. So we, right now, can only go off of that. So May 26th is the end date, unless we hear otherwise.
Bumblebee Man is better for this event.
And my husband, of course, would love a boy. But I’d be happy either way 🙂
Alright, so I have done some math on the benefit of upgrading to the Opera House to the next level and I agree with Alissa’s recommendation of only upgrading to level 9. Depending on how often you are able to send your Saints out, it may not be worth it to upgrade to level 9 (there are 7 Saints total, but Father Sean and Maude came from events, so not everyone may have them, and Rod and Todd can already earn currency via the Youngster’s tasks, so you are really only unlocking jobs for 3 new characters). It’s a bit of a long post, but the details are below…
I’ve made a couple of assumptions on coming up with the numbers below:
– People are awake 14 hours a day, but are able to tap anytime during the time they are awake
– People are prioritizing Theater Mask jobs over all other jobs (including DNA)
– I have ignored the DNA cost of leveling up, and focused solely on the Theater Mask cost/benefit
– For characters than have multiple jobs, people are sending them on the shortest job possible (note that this means that people are in theory earning less theatre masks for someone who is both a Kook and a Celebrity, as sending someone on two 12 hour tasks a day earns more than sending them on 2 eight hour tasks, but I didn’t have the patience to go back and look to see which job maximizes the payout for each person)
Using the assumptions above, this means that people are sending out Kooks 2 times a day (once when they are awake and once overnight), Celebrities 2 times a day (once when they are awake and once overnight), Youngsters 3 times a day, Entrepreneurs 4 times a day, Criminals 8 times a day, and Saints 15 times a day.
The table below shows the additional Theater Masks per day from leveling up, the cost in Theater Masks to get to that level from the previous level, and the number of days it will take you to earn back the Theater Mask cost. As an example, going from level 3 to 4 unlocks tasks for Youngsters, but some of the Youngsters were already earning Theater Masks as Kooks, so the improvements is 526 Masks:
22 Youngsters * 11 Masks * 3 times per day = 726 Masks , minus
5 Youngsters who were Kooks * 20 Masks * 2 times per day = 200 Masks
The table assumes that you have ALL the characters available for tasks (I did another analysis assuming you don’t have any characters that weren’t available from leveling up):
Level 2: Increase = 220, Cost = 225, 1.0 Days to Earn
Level 3: Increase = 474, Cost = 450, 0.9 Days to Earn
Level 4: Increase = 526, Cost = 675, 1.3 Days to Earn
Level 5: Increase = 534, Cost = 900, 1.7 Days to Earn
Level 6: Increase = 420, Cost = 1,125, 2.7 Days to Earn
Level 7: Increase = 798, Cost = 1,350, 1.7 Days to Earn
Level 8: Increase = 290, Cost = 1,575, 5.4 Days to Earn
Level 9: Increase = 417, Cost = 1,800, 4.3 Days to Earn
Level 10: Increase = 224, Cost = 2,025, 9.0 Days to Earn
I also did the calculation assuming the people ONLY have characters from leveling up (i.e., no premium characters, no limited time special event characters, and no Mr. Teeny)
Level 2: Increase = 64, Cost = 225, 3.5 Days to Earn
Level 3: Increase = 162, Cost = 450, 2.8 Days to Earn
Level 4: Increase = 309, Cost = 675, 2.2 Days to Earn
Level 5: Increase = 217, Cost = 900, 4.1 Days to Earn
Level 6: Increase = 220, Cost = 1,125, 5.1 Days to Earn
Level 7: Increase = 346, Cost = 1,350, 3.9 Days to Earn
Level 8: Increase = 280, Cost = 1,575, 5.6 Days to Earn
Level 9: Increase = 267, Cost = 1,800, 6.7 Days to Earn
Level 10: Increase = 122, Cost = 2,025, 16.6 Days to Earn
Most people (assuming they are level 52) will earn somewhere in between the two tables above as they may have some special event/premium characters, but not all. And again, people are going to be able to log into the game either more or less than what I assumed, so results will differ there too, but at least you can use this as a starting point.
Thank you for doing the math again Drew! 🙂
No problem, I do the analysis for myself, so once the spreadsheet is set up, it’s easy to play around with it for general cases. It’s something to do on my bus rides to work in the morning (once all my tapping is done 🙂 ).
Oh, and congrats on expecting a little one. That’s super exciting, and I am happy for you and your husband. Little ones are a handful, but tons of fun at the same time!
Thank you! We’re excited 🙂
Up for 14 hours??
I wish I was only up 14 hours !!
Yeah, people need to do their own maths. Modifying that one assumption to fit your life and how you play the game changes things quite a lot.
Also, the number of characters and their groups changes things a lot too.
The maths isn’t tricky, once you’ve worked out which characters you have and which groups they fit in, you’re at least 75% of the way there!
Top class info/advice as always. Thanks very much for this.
