Monorail Event is over and now being pulled from our games, though I know some of you are pushing those limits to squeeze the last few Bells & Whistles out of it. Just remember, you are now on borrowed time and an Update can be forced on you by EA at any time.
Outside of that, I wanted to touch on a “Poem” that was offered to us via the App Market Updates. Let’s take a look.
A poem to celebrate the end of the Monorail Event*:
Your trashy treasures have all turned back to trash,
and the magic of the Monorail has ended.
The stress of it all has given you a rash,
But think of all those strangers you have friended.
Another Update is on its way,
With New Characters a’yapping.
Now this might sound a little cliche,
But all you have to do is keep tapping.
*But all existing trains, tracks, buildings, and decorations are staying in your town.
EA has already lined up something for us that is on its way. Now the question is, just WHAT that will consist of?
Well, we know that the New Season 27 Episode with Lena Dunham won’t start until September 27th… so unless it is a 2 week thing or does not start til next week, I do not see an Episode Tie In this week.
The happy time of year for me, Halloween, Treehouse of Horror Episode is not set to air until October 25th… so I don’t see them launching anything for that until closer to October. Even then, I am more anticipating a full blow Halloween Event at that time.
Could the “Just Keep Tapping” be a hint at Lisa’s old Dance Teacher, Vicki Valentine and her School Lil’ Vicki Valentine’s School of Dance? (Me and Wookiee also thought this was a possibilty). “Tappa-Tappa-Tappa”.
Just what on earth could be coming? I think ANOTHER Level Update. It seems they like to be dishing those out every other week to us lately to keep us on our toes. It also could be just some kind of a Mini Update with something leading into the New Season.
What do I personally want with an Update? Well, I am still holding out hope for my “Baby Event” or Level Update. I know they are tiny, small, and may be more difficult to track roaming our Springfield streets, but I see many other lil teeny items already in there roaming around as we speak. I WANT MAGGIE AS A CHARACTER!!
It’s about time our lil darlin was released from Marge’s clutches and allowed to do “her own thing” in our games, don’t you think? A Baby Event could really work out. We could bring in the lil adorable adopted “baby” Ling Bouvier, Selma’s girl. Maggie of course. Baby Gerald could make his arrival too, in which I would hope there would be some sort of silly outside task involving the two of them battling it out in Shopping Carts. We could even get some of the Nahasapeemapetilon babies in on the action. There are 8 of them to choose from.
Enough of my wants, what are YOU hoping will arrive for us next in the game? Any thoughts or a possible clue the “a’yapping” could be giving us? When do you think the “New Update” will hit our games? Let the speculations begin!

Yeah, the “yapping’ ” thing makes me think dogs.
And (at least in the Simpsons world) that makes me think of either Santa’s Little Helper, or the episode where Mr. Burns decides to skin a bunch of greyhounds for a fur coat, although we already have his gorilla vest.

lol it’s ok I just like to tease readers. We all answer questions when we see them, I just happen to be on the most during the day…so I giggle when a question is addressed to a specific person. Always wonder if I should answer it or just let the question wait 😉

I have lost level 57 status I have all the buildings but no quest lines feeling bummed
I kind of thought dogs as well. I also had a weird correlation of like a Talk Show, since they seem to yap and yammer about nothing of importance. It’d be funny if they had a Presidential campaign one since those public figures yap and yammer as well.
If/when we get Maggie, I want the Ayn Rand School for Tots! That’s one of my all-time favorite episodes (“Streetcar!”), maybe even my absolute favorite. (Would love to have the director guy, too, but only if they can get John Lovitz’s voice, which I know they won’t, since they only do the “fab five” for this game.)
I love this idea, and I’ve posted the same comments on older threads about bringing in Maggie via the Ayn Rand School for Tots building. Loved that episode! They could bring Ms Sinclair and also have Marge and Ned practice for a ‘Streetcar!’ with Llelywn Sinclair on a task while Maggie and other babies are at the daycare! That’d be so cool.
Hoping the next new level will include Maggie. And of course one of her permanent tasks should be to shoot Mr. Burns.
I have to find that “but all your existing decorations are staying in your town” part somewhat ironic, as with one of these bugs my Santa’s Workshop from 2014 disappeared and I’m still fighting with customer support to get it back. My first round of responses went along the lines of “Since the Dec 2014 event has ended we can’t help you, but here are 15 donuts for your trouble.”
My Toy/Santa’s Workshop disappeared too last week. I was messaging with EA and the guy told me that sometimes when you have lots in our inventory, some items go “invisible” kinda like there are only enough slots to put images in. So, I placed some stuff, sold some more and, poof!, my Workshop showed up again. I placed it quick.
Try it, might help you.

I removed the monorail event but didn’t get the poem. Is that normal? Also having a bit of a problem with the rail yard. Got the first mystry track. But even after collecting more than 15000, didn’t get the second prize

As far as the track…it’s a sync issue. Go to Krustyland and back or a neighbor and back it’ll correct itself.

Similar to new Springfield Heights area, I would love a Shelbyville area for some form of rivalry event. Simpsons in the wild/camping would be good including Maggies “Bear Family” or a Homerpalooza event
So does this mean we can,t get anymore tracks once we update?
If you have the Rail Yard you can still earn tracks. It’s the ONLY way to get Tracks once the event is over.
I had wondered if “yapping” referred to dogs. Perhaps they’ll reach waaay back for the Dog Obedience School and Emily Winthrop. (“The two most important words you’ll ever hear: Choke chain!”)

a’yapping to me sounds something to do with pets and specifically dogs. Maybe some of the NPC pets we already have will become full characters?
Would be cool to play as Maggie too, as long as drive the car is a task! That’s my fav scene with her by far lol
‘With New Characters a’yapping.’ caught my attention. We complain often – justifiably – that so many characters aren’t voiced, so maybe it’s a couple characters we’ve wanted who are memorably voiced and talk a LOT like Troy McClure? (Maybe his estate has given the go ahead?) Or Lindsay? But dogs also ‘yap’ so maybe a dog intensive update? Characters walking dogs around town (and cleaning up poop? That would be funny – sorta gross but funny.)
Other than those lame-brained – ie coffee deprived – thoughts I don’t have a clue. I too would love to see Maggie and Gerald (Unibrow) babies finally getting into the game. Duking it out in the parking lot while in their shopping carts would be a fantastic add!
If that line read ‘With New Character a yipping’ I’d think Santa’s Little Helper’s puppies for sure. I’d love to see a ton of puppies running around town evading a dog catcher or just acting like wild and crazy pups who escaped from the house and are revelling in their freedom.
I’d love having pale, easily queasy Wendell in the game and more of the school kids. I’d love to see a busload of them hanging out of the bus windows, arms flailing, while the bus careens around town with Otto at the wheel.
I wasn’t a big fan of that Tappa Tappa Tappa episode, but that really makes sense as the answer to this puzzle. The smoking, catty dance students were pretty funny.

I’m with Bunny regarding Maggie. If we got Monorail we’ll surely get Maggie. I want her.

I also would want nothing more than Maggie as a character. It’s a crime she isn’t already.
But more to the point, I could’ve sworn I saw one of the Vegas wives wandering around Other Springfield. Could it be some sort of gambling/Las Vegas update or event? Just a thought.
A baby’s arrival? Not only would it be great in the game to have a wee Maggie, but it would also be a case of game reflecting life for a certain admin, n’est ce pas?

Hi Bunny , greetings from the UK branch of the rest home for tired and bewildered tappers . Maggie is long over due , I agree , but can’t we have a little downtime until if/when THOH hits ? Be nice just to consolidate , what with tracks to earn/place and new SH items to earn .Am I the only one feeling this way ? By the way Bunny have you sorted out being able to watch Dr Who yet ? Starts this Saturday over here . Can’t wait …..

Anyone having issues with being unable to construct monorail track segments since the update? I’ve collected more than the required 5,000 projects for a single track piece, yet no track segments unlocked … Just me or a glitch?
