Well here we are, in the most wonderful time of the year…Christmas in Springfield! The leaves on the trees have fallen, snow blankets the ground and there’s joy all around town!
This Event is broken up into 3 Acts, with each Act containing part of the story. To help you move along with the event you’ll get several prizes per Act. Each prize will either be something fun for Springfield or something to help you move along in the event. For the First Act you’re tasked with collecting Santa Hats (
) to unlock each prize!
The thirdAct 1 prize awarded at 28,850 is Patches & Poor Violet! A Sherri and Teri like character combo for Springfield.
So let’s take a closer look at this fifth prize and just what happens when you unlock it in your Springfield…
Once you’ve collected 28,850 you’ll automatically be awarded Patches and Poor Violet and you’ll see this message popup:
You’ll have the ability to place them in your Springfield immediately or place it in inventory for later (store). If you store it, remember you’ll have to go into your inventory to retrieve it..
If you decide to place it you’ll see the character unlock message…
And they’re part of the More Kids Character Collection..
Patches and Poor Violet are full fledged characters for your Springfield. They come with a questline and a full set of tasks. However, they are considered ONE character. Everything they do will be done together, like Sherri and Teri.

What’s Next?
Bonus Donuts! Once you have collected the 28850 
Festive Hats needed for the Personal Prizes, you then will get the chance to earn some more for a Bonus Gift. Bonus Gift Rounds are 4000 Festive Hats. Once you reach the 4000 Festive Hats, the 3 Donut Box Pop Up will appear and you have a 1 in 3 chance to tap a box and get 3 Donuts. If you do not get the 3 Donuts, you can pay $150,000 to try again until you get the 3 Donuts you want.
So that my friends is the full breakdown of the fifth and final Christmas Act 1 prize!
Remember Act 1 ends and Act 2 starts on December 19th! So do your best to earn Patches and Violet before then so you don’t miss out!

Just got ’em an hour ago! Don’t think i’ll get the bonuts but with the end of challenge sprinkles, 20 is better than 3! LOL 😉
Does anyone know if you will still be able to upgrade the gingerbread house in act two? Will it earn the new festive currency if you do?
I’m pretty sure this is not the right place to express this problem, but since yesterday, all of a sudden, my game is now back to lvl 1! I still have all my donuts and my origin account says that I’m lvl 59… I was close to get patches and pas or violet! I playerd yesterday few times and than I was sent to the introduction when Homer explosed everything! If I stary playing, after 1-2 minutes I have the screen with Bart to tell me there is a problem! What should I do? Thank you!
I had this problem last week when the event had just started -I had to completely reinstall to fix.
This happens to me all the time . Best thing you can do is if you can go on another device, and sign into your game it should fix it, then just go back to your regular device, and if it says your game didn’t save right on another device at anytime that’s OK just continue through the warnings it’ll be allright I use this solution all the time

patches and poor violet, didn’t expect to see them in the game until we got a KrustyLand update to convert into Praise Land (just a thought, no rumors of this actually happening).
Yes they are sad, sympathetic characters and all the other Springfeilders just ignore them. I almost got a screen shot of them begging for food while Akira had his free samples in front of their faces, but it went to quick and they didn’t get any

I got them a couple of days ago and I’ve managed to get 1 round of donuts. There’s no way I can get a second round there’s not enough time left before act 2 starts tomorrow. Good luck to everyone whose still tapping to get them.
Yes I got the poor chaps with 3 days and 3 hrs left to spare. Got one round of donuts. I don’t think I could get another either.
Same here. The payout from upgrading the attractions is crucial, and they’re both done now. I got one bonus gift, and now I’m at 1700 hats. No way at all I’ll make it to 4000.
I got mine yesterday, 1 round of bonuts, now at 2000 hats…squishee station too many hours just for 100 more hats…only at lv 15
Patches and Poor Violet just bum me out. Even their task line made me sad.
Overall I’m enjoying the event, but I did like how we got an actual daily prize past year and not just currency. My B game is missing all the Christmas lights for the houses and I was hoping to Griswald it up. I mean, more than the insane decor we got already.

I won’t be getting these two. I just got Virgil’s Cabin and the Gingerbread house today. I wasn’t able to log in during the weekend and I got way behind. I tried to catch up by staggering the Snowman task but doing that took me too long to finish. I think I should have just tried to upgrade the Snowman and then the Gingerbread house as fast as possible.
Are they voiced? I’m not going to quite make it with my festive hats by the end of act 1, but I’m considering paying some donuts to get them.
I haven’t done all their tasks yet, just finished the questline, but from what I can tell, not voiced, and alot of their tasks are indoors.

Whoo who new characters
I was absolutely convinced there was no way i would get Patches and Violet (started event a day late, and could only play infrequently the first 4 days…stupid job…still needed 4000 hats yesterday morning). Yet by simply playing the questline, upgrading (possibly the most important thing) the snowman, gingerbread house, and Squishee stand, visiting friends and tapping merry makers whenever I could spare a few minutes, I unlocked them yesterday evening. So for everyone who thinks they won’t make it, keep tapping! You might be surprised! I’m loving this event so far!

Lol! Well I guess then me and 52 of my 100 neighbors and lots of other ppl have done the impossible.
Not going to make Bonuts this time. 🙁 I missed the fact that they were being offered this time so was taking it a little easier.
Has anyone had any success trying the TapBall fans trick? I’ve tried, but it doesn’t seem like it’s working, despite the similar programming of the MerryMakers.
I remember exploiting the heck out of the tap ball trick at the time, but now I can’t remember how it worked….wait until a bunch of them congregate, then tap them and go quickly to the neighbor screen before they finish collecting? Was that it? (Of course, if it’s not working, I guess it doesn’t matter how it worked before…)
Yep… Find a mess of fans (they had to be ‘far away’ from the stadium), and before their pennants or whatever disappeared, just go to neighbor screen and back. You’d have the prize, and the fans would still be there. Best grind-for-bonuts ever!!!
Yeah – I remember getting a ton of bonuts from doing that. (But it didn’t work until the final act, so maybe…..)

Well, they do pay twice as much as a regular freemium character. I for one am quite happy to have them around!
This was the prize I was most looking forward to. Shame they are joined at the hip. Would have been nice to have at least one task that separates the two of them, but guess they work the same as Sherri and Terri.
I don’t mind that, but the literal joined at the hip is what bothers me. They’re not freaky twins, they’re bro and sis, like Bart and Lisa, they need to at least have to catch up with the other one every once in a while when they’re walking.
I’m still 4k away on the last day of the first set, never missed a deadline in the 2 years or so I’ve been doing it, and usually won 2 or 3 sets of extra donuts. I have no idea why I’m so behind. Is anyone else behind when they aren’t usually?

I’m not going to make the total I need to get patches and violet. Will there be a chance to finish my act one prize list when act 2 starts.
Is it just me or this math really tight this time? I started out close to 2 days ahead and I just scored these 2 10 minutes ago. My wife is a good 6000 hats away.Not even going to have a shot at the bonuts. I am wondering if they screwed up the payment on the snowman/gingerbread mansion. 30 hard for 8 hours seems really low.

I just dropped gifts (all gone for the day) and then tapped on todays event. Darn! Now I have to wait til 3-4am to complete before next act hits.
What happens if I don’t get patches and violet? Will I still be able to get them after act 1? I’m concerned because I’m not earning enough hats at a rate that I can get them.
The only way to get them after act 1 ends would be via donuts. Once act 1 ends you can no longer earn hats.
At least they use the Orphanage so it won’t be entirely sitting there doing nothing else.
If you end up not being able to collect the hats in time for patches and violet can you buy them later on in the store?
Not via the store but probably via the prize track. But they’ll be expensive.
