So Christmas is over and New Year’s is fast approaching (only 2 more days left in 2015)..so it’s only natural that our favorite yellow family would need to do some New Year’s preparation! So today EA dropped a short little questline on us involving Homer and New Year’s prep….
Now this isn’t the full questline, it’s just a little tease of what’s to come in the game (shortly), but it’s still a questline, so let’s take a look at the Turbo Tappin’ version of Out With the Old….

Don’t drop the ball!
I clicked on the new year’s ball when trying to locate characters… and it burnt up. I can’t figure out how to get it back. Any ideas for getting it back? (I think the ball was the last part of Out with the Old part 3…. or early in part 4)
Completed “Out with the Old” yesterday. Received a New Year’s Ball decoration for a ball drop then sent five Simpson family members to “celebrate”. I decided to press the decoration and watched it start to fall 😁 and then go into flames 😳 where it has remained in a fiery rubble 😵 and has not “reset”. Anyone else done this yet?
I was tapping out for my wife, and accidentally hit her New Year’s Eve ball, which dropped and caught fire. I tried to reset it by storing it and replacing it, but it remained on fire. Anyone have any ideas how to reset it?
Mine reset itself at some point. Don’t know why, how, or when.
What’s the deal with the New Year’s ball? I tap it and it drops and turns into a fire but I can’t find anything on how to reset it…is there a time limit for it to reset automatically?
Got the new year ball that drops and tapped it to see what happens. It crashed and is now a burning pile of junk.
There is Toy Workshop and Santa helper Ralph for 70 donuts, is it worth the spend?
In my opinion, not really…but look at the breakdowns for each and see what they do.

I, personally LOVE Santa helper Ralph. He eats yellow snow and gets his tongue stuck to the North Pole…its just fun to watch 😁 I also have a huge Christmas area so my Toy Shop fits in perfectly.
A New Years ball is granted this morning. Word of warning if you tap it it will go down and become a flaming pile. this apparently cant be undone. 🙁
Do you know if crafting and crafting materials will still be around for act 3? Does it make sense to sit on those materials for a bit, or is it better to use them up before the countdown to act 2 is done?
As far as I can tell there won’t be craft for Act 3 (unless EA’s hiding something)
Oh no – I got the New Year ball just now and clicked it (which breaks it). Any way to “un-break” it?
Are additional “Private Islands” no longer available in the menu? I got one (of three max) but the SH menu is merged into the regular one now and I can’t find the Private Island anymore.
I noticed that too. I didn’t know if it was a limited time item or was limited to a certain amount either. Also, Part 4 just dropped, and we are given a New Years Eve ball and the Simpsons have to go celebrate New Years Eve at City Hall for 4 hours, I believe. And, did I miss the Ayn Rand School for tots or Kearneys kid, Patty/Selma’s(?) daughter Ming, or the person shoveling near the Van Houtens house in the splash screen, or are those yet to come? Anywho, Happy New Years (Eve) everyone!

In the Springfield Heights menu scroll all the way to the far left, hopefully it’s there. It changed location on the menu in my game.
Can anyone tell me why i can only collect items from only half of my neighbors ‘ towns? In the past I have been able to collect special items from all friends, now it’s not even half of my neighbors that I can from? TY
Every event has a maximum number of neighbor taps you can do that will earn event currency. Often that number is 90, but, for this event, I think it’s only been 50. So, you’ll finish collecting event currency somwhere around your 16th neighbor visit.
(I’m kinda surprised that you’re just now noticing this…..)
Does everyone get Maggie? What if you’re behind on some of the tasks of Act 2?
She’s required for Act 3, so my interpretation is yes.
I still don’t have Maggie. Should I be worried? Struggling for some reason with this event. Don’t have festivus cbg either and had to pay donuts for patches and violet at the end of part one. Didn’t finish the ginger bread house either.
I’m excited to see that Maggie has a Playdoh Factory task! Hopefully that comes in the next act (or new level, perhaps?)!
I’ve got a hunch – and am super excited – that the Babysitter Bandit arrives in Act 3 (we just got Maggie and the Bandit is in the picture on the “loading” screen)

Just sent Homer on a “Surf the Net” task…..pretty hilarious. Anyone know when this task became available? If I’m not mistaken it pays out at a premium rate as well!! I’m sure it’s been there for days and I’m wayyyy late.

I started the questline “a mothers work” but the first quest is for Marge to walk Maggie.. Yet the task is greyed out saying it needs a quest… But I’ve been given the quest… Is this a known issue? Or is there something I need to do? Thank you!

Seasons greetings from the UK – I just dropped by to check if the Out With The Old was as short as it appeared to be, and as always the answer was here 😄 I was sure I posted sometime over Christmas but can’t find my post, so maybe I didn’t hit the Post Comment lol. Hope everyone had a lovely time, mine was quiet but just what was needed – and Star Wars was everything I hoped for, so I’m content. And Maggie – yay!

I’m ready for New Year’s. I do have one complaint regarding the Christmas quest. I have multiple Springfield’s and have always been able to earn Christmas lights for ALL the houses. Haven’t been able to do that for my newest and unless I’m missing something it’s just not going to happen. Maybe next Christmas. Have to say that Act 2 has great prizes though it is a complicated act.
Is anyone else’s Fortress of Lonelitude still vandalized with the purple stuff? I have everything upgraded and all questlines complete, but it’s still messy. Tried storing and replacing with no luck.
If its fully upgraded, try changing the facade by tapping on it like we would the Heights buildings. May have tapped it by accident and went to a downgraded version of the building.

You have Maggie and did her “You Better Not Cry” Quest? I’ve read a few comments that haven’t cleared the mess yet, but they didn’t say whether they had Maggie. Part 2 was Moe cleaning the Fortress of Lonelitude.
My goo cleared after that, but I’m on iOS? Maybe it’ll clear with Act III?
have you finished all the questlines where Moe, Cletus and Comic Bookstore Guy clean up their own vandalism?
My fortress has the same issue but it looks way cooler with it so I’m not going to complain
Mine is too, and I did try changing the facade. But it’s nbd to me because I love purple and lime green together!
Same problem here…all questlines complete, tried changing the facade a la Springfield Heights buildings, but no change. Not too fond of the vandalized look, so I hope they fix this with the next release (although, in the scope of things, I guess it’s not a really big deal and I’m not even sure whether I’ll keep or store this building after the event ends…).
I’m wondering whether the tappers with un-removable-goo finished the three part “Burning Wreath of Fire” that came after “Oh Come, All Ye Vengeful?” Maybe it has nothing to do with it, but for a lot of people that quest-line just discontinued if they had started Maggies quest before finishing it. Did you get a System Message that said: “Way to go! You’ve finished the main questline. Keep tapping merrymakers to unlock more prizes.?”
I didn’t finish the Burning Wreath of Fire quest because Maggie interrupted it (my Moonshine Shack wasn’t even upgraded).
My Fortress of Lonlitude is squeaky clean, nevertheless.

Anyone else miss the elves that found your presents for you?
I wrote up a little something about what I’ll like to see in 2016 in the game. But I didn’t send it off for multiple reasons.
1. Wanted to put more effort into it but my free time has been limited with work and visitations
2. Wanted it looked at by Bunny but hear she’s a little under the weather (hope she gets over the weather soon)
3. Started doubting that many folks would read it or care and even worse being scrutinizes when such an event does arrive or doesn’t.
4. If I share all my What I want events and characters it takes the fun out of me blurting it out at some random thread.
5. Both over thinking it and underthinking it and medium thinking it and it’s giving me a headache and a little sleepy
Thus I’m thinking of not sending it along in the near future or perhaps not at all.
I’m more of a concept person, “execution” not so much.
I have been wondering if we’ll see such a post from the admin (What We’d like to see in 2016 post).
So in this case, it is literally the thought that counts? lol Got me curious to your event ideas, and as for them being shot down, I’m sure a good majority of us might like what you have to suggest, possibly offer minor tweaks, and yeah, others will probably be naysayers. Can’t please everyone. Take the events we DO get from EA, some love them, others hate with a passion. Just take home with you the fact that some will like the idea.
On this subject, do you welcome any addicts posts for “from the mouths of addicts” or does it tend to be more long term / recognised / frequent posters or whatever you’d be inclined to “publish”
