A Little Maggie Fun: The Theory of TSTO

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

So the Winter Event has ended and Maggie should be in most of our games!  Woo-hoo the Simpson family is FINALLY complete!

For those of you that missed it…or had issues playing it in your game…or just want to relive it…let’s take a look back at the cutscene that brought Maggie to our games…

Now once we had Maggie and completed a good chunk of the Act 3 questline we learn a few things revolving around Springfield blowing up…

Nuclear Option Vid SS

1.  Homer apparently didn’t blow up Springfield and 2. Maggie knows who did.  And through a series of Maggie’s drawings we learn the truth…

Gerald blew up Springfield!

unlock_babygerald

Just how did he do it?  Of course there’s more of Maggie’s adorable drawings to detail the truth…

So apparently ROSA put Gerald in Time Out and that caused the whole town to Blow up….

But it’s not until ROSA is unlocked that we discover the truth…

Maggie created TSTO?!  She’s really Skyfinger?!  Mind. Blown.

And apparently even she has issues with the server connecting…

So what are your thoughts on the real story behind TSTO video?  How about the theory of Maggie being Skyfinger?  Did you enjoy the plot twist?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. lol. Ok. This is weird. I was storing away non-essential holiday items in my Springfield, and I accidentally put away the Nativity Scene. (since it does give 1.50% on money) When I took it back out of storage and into my Springfield, a quest popped up for it. (Mind you, I got the Nativity Scene TWO Christmas Events ago) “Our Home and Nativity Land” is the name of the quest. What gives?

    • Also, I DID update the game before I started storing items.

    • Just a glitch, I had something sorta-similar a few weeks ago. Just do the quest if you can, and it should solve itself.

    • I just did it and the same thing happened. I like it. Something to do in between events.

    • I was so unhappy when I brought out the nativity scene for Christmas and that task popped up again on my task bar. But I am much, much more unhappy that upgrading out of the event didn’t make it go away. I don’t want to spend 16 hours for four key characters just to make it go away, and I shouldn’t have to, since I did complete that the first time I got the nativity, back in 2014! Lesson learned…after I finally find some time to get rid of that task again (probably once I finish the rail yard tasks for the week, and assuming there’s no new game releases by then), I will NEVER take the nativity scene out again! (I might even sell it, if that’s possible.) It’s a shame, really, since I like having the *option* of having the Simpsons do that tableau, but I do NOT like being FORCED to do it!

    • Same here. Not that I’m complaining. But it’s not the same without the snow.

      • you know, it’s only january. we have two more months of winter to go. so, what happened to all the snow?

    • lol. Well, if we ever get bored, we can always whip out the ol’ Nativity Scene to shake things up.

  2. Very seldom does “where’s Maggie” game work for me, even after the update this morning. It drives me nuts! I find her, and click on her over and over as the seconds tick away, and it almost always says to try again in16 hours that I didn’t find her. I wish it would work consistantly.

    • I’m having the same problem. Guess they’ll just have to fix it.

    • Don’t click on her, is my solution. Click on the base of the building she’s in. After several rounds a lot like yours, I started doing that — near the front door or the base — and have had no problems since!

    • I find its a lot easier to click on her if I can find her without ever zooming in

      • I’ve found not playing at all is the easiest I quit after the only time I found her tapped and tapped till time ran out and decided just not worth it.

        • Ever since I learned to tap the base of the building Maggie’s on (some have best luck if they aim the buidling’s actual door) and not Maggie herself, I’ve had no problems and I’ve earned at least six donuts so far, with another three coming tomorrow.

Unless money really isn’t an issue for you, I can really imagine a reason that you wouldn’t want to play the game, now that you know how to get it to work correctly!

  3. Probably the best cut scene so far. Only complaint is that there should be more cut scenes after all this time.
    And money!

  4. I am with the others who say that tapping Maggie, around her or the other buildings, etc simply does nothing! Disappointed!!!

    • You don’t have to tap directly her, but the base of the building where she is. At the beginning I had the same frustration, but now that I have learned the trick it’s easy!

  5. First time watching: Whaaaaaaa!!! Maggie is Skyfinger!? So all this time we’ve complained her not being in the game, she was there the whole time (right from the begining)!?

Calmed down, watched it again: I want that kid in the safety suit, so wait… Springfeild blew up because Garald changed ROSA’s batteries? No, Springfeild blew up because Maggie rode a malfunctioning ROSA into that Green-radiation-orb thingy (which wouldn’t happened if it wasn’t for Garald), was Maggie trying to protect the other babies accidentally causing the town to explode?

Watched the first cut scene and then this cut scene for the third time: Am I Overthinking this?

Lenny, Carl, Moe, and Homer go to the comment section to talk about it. Not sure which of them I am *thinking about taking off my shirt*

    (End scene)
So 2001 Space Odyssey… Years ago, I wanted to watch Classic Films and that was on the list. So I wanted to watch it without distractions (no interruptions, no food or bathroom breaks) ..LONGEST MOVIE EVER!!! Very little talking, very little action, just… I mean singing a “Bicycle built for two” the WHOLE song in SLOW MOTION… Anyway, I know it still is beloved by many so I shouldn’t bash it to much.

Please respect my opinion and not try to sway and convince me that I should like it.

Anyway, cool to have a better cutscenes than the first quick (Maggie getting sunscreen) scene. What is surprising is the game getting all this animation scenes (considering the time and talent it takes to get them just for the game).

Yeah Maggie! I just wonder if this origin story is over or are there more surprises down the road like that of Phillip J. Fry being frozen in Futurama.

Ok, got that out of my system, now I got to keep reading people’s comments in “Goodbye 2015, Thank you EA” :p

  6. I don’t seem to be able to apply the update via iPhone or iPad? Takes me to App Store, where the icon says “open” rather than “update” and you round in circles like that!

    • I’ve had that problem with other apps-Force close App Store, then go into it. Next, have your finger hovering over the place where in the update screen there is “update all”. With your other hand, tap updates and quickly press “Update all”, which is available in blue to press for a few secs. Hope this helps!

  7. Probably not the right place to post, sorry…But I’ve just noticed that Things Unnecessary is not paying out every 4 hours! Really pleased. Another great building for SH Promenade.

  8. Green grass is back in Springfield – it must be one of those southern state Springfields!

  9. Didn’t see the Maggie outtro with Rosa during the game so the storyline felt stilted to me – it makes a bit more sense now!
Does that explain why my Rosa doesn’t have any jobs but is available from the town hall? i.e. should she have jobs?

    • R.O.S.A doesn’t have any jobs they just forgot to set the flag. it’s weird you didn’t finish the questline, after getting R.O.S.A you’re just one step away from the video and the end of the questline and the minigame!

  10. Anyone lose Maggie’s sound during the Find Maggie game. The blocks beep the countdown, then silence, even when she’s directly below. As soon as she’s tapped, all the sounds are fine. It’s just the sucking sound during the game. Annoying.

  11. I really like the storyline and the game, but I have had NO SOUND in my game for the past few days. I’ve checked the settings (yes, I have sound on my iPad) both on my iPad and in the game, I’ve gone to Krustyland and back, I’ve even deleted the game and reinstalled it, but nothing. Anyone else having this issue? You can’t play the Maggie game without sound.

    • I can only get some sounds. For some reason none of the character sounds have worked but a limited number of background sounds do. Like, I could hear the monorail’s whooshing noise but other than that it was silent. Didn’t realize it until I started the Maggie game (because I usually have the volume turned off).

      • I’m like you, I almost always have the volume off, except for the Maggie game. I have had no problem when I have turned the volume up until a few days ago (it was before the update). Anyway, I did all the usual things. Today I did a Google search and found the answer for me. It WAS the mute button that’s in my iPad settings. It goes between mute and screen lock. It always confuses me because I have it on mute but I still get sound. Anyway, from now on, when I play TSTO I have to make sure that I switch to screen lock.

  12. Forced update! ….aaaaarghhhh my eyes!!!

    • +1 to that. I was sooo close to getting 4000 pacifiers for Bonuts.

    • IKR, and I was one day away from my next round of bonuts, at least TSTO took pity on me, gave 10 donuts for the weekly challenge, and 5 from KL, guess that makes up for it 😀

    • Yeah – I was hoping it would wait until late tonight, so I could finish another round of bonuts. Sent Marge to walk Maggie for nothing, when I could have been having her recycling glass. Oh well…that was the gamble I took and, in the scheme of things, not too terrible a loss.

    • I could postpone the update 1 day until I had my pacifier donuts and the maggy donuts 😀
I have it set that the iphone does not update apps without my permission. For app store changes that works perfectly. Smaller updates still happen automatically.

  13. I know I’m in a minority here, but I didn’t care for it. Homer blew it up and it should be that way. They made Baby Gerald way too evil. As far as I know, and I could be wrong, there is nothing to show Baby Gerald as evil in the series. He was Maggie’s nemesis and the fact we never knew why the babies hated each other made it all the more interesting.

  14. I loved the 2001: A Space Odyssey reference!

  15. The game of finding Maggie would be great if it worked, I was tapping her franticly to no avail while the seconds counted down 🙁

    • Oh I’m so glad I’m not the only one that is having that issue.

    • Kim (kimberlyah794)

Try tapping on the building underneath her. That seems to be the key.

    • I have the same problem…

    • Actually it is working. I have just DL’ed the update to remove the event, and my counter still works as normal, so…
WOOHOO! Free donuts! Mind you, the monorail thingy is fine but way too annoying for me.

    • I had the same issue at first, but if you tap the building instead of trying to actually tap Maggie it works flawlessly. I’ve been doing it that way ever since and have had no problems “tapping Maggie.” It makes no sense what-so-ever because the game is called “Where’s Maggie?” not “Where’s the Building Maggie’s Hiding On?” But, hey, it works.

    • Tap on the building beneath her, near the base. I’ve done that every time I’ve played, and it always registers. So far I’ve won a dozen donuts from the game.

  16. Will I still get Maggie? I had an issue with my Kindle two weeks ago, and lost EVERYTHING. I’ve had to start over from the beginning, and I thought that I won’t get Maggie this time.

  17. Embrace your inner Maggie. We are all Maggie.

  18. “Cannot Connect To Server”.

    Priceless !!

  19. Loved the storyline, mind blown too 🙂
I was a bit baffled when my daughter’s name appeared on the drawings of Maggy (rosa). She’s just 5 and writes her name just like that – I first thought it was a sort of mind *** 🙂
Then I got worried…. with the coming of Gerald… would they repeat history and start the game all over again? Maybe I should take screenshots just to be on the safe side? 😀

  20. Between the server connection issues and Krustyland jokes they certainly had some fun this event.

  21. Loved the story line, just when you thought you knew it all, they a curve ball, in true Simpsons style, great idea. Praise where praise is due, as I said loved it. I was wondering how they would get Maggie around, the Balloon was insperational. The Simpsons hinted that one day Lisa would one day be President, not going to happen, she is far to honest. Now Maggie is perfect presedential material, clever and crafty, nothing gets past her, and then she could appoint Bart as head of the C.I.A. with Millhouse as his Mr Smithers. Can you imagine what that could be like.

  22. What’s wrong with Maggie. I found her tapped and tapped even heard her suckling all the time but then get message oops times up and of course nothing. Also “other springfielders” has no bears to tap – why?

  23. This is heresy! I am the skyfinger! The one and only!

    #AGodAmI
    #AngryMe

  24. Hey it’s just Fantasy, it’s all good

  25. Can we get tapped and get a donut too? :-p

  26. Just FYI, if it hasn’t been reported elsewhere, but the issue of not being able to tap on Maggie during the minigame… If you tap near / at the front door or front center edge of the house she’s on, it works every time for me.

    • Same here. Every time I’ve found her, I’ve been able to collect. Just tap a bit below her, where the building’s base is, and boom: 1/3 of the way towards a Box-o-Bonuts.

  27. We need an interview. Maggie/Gerald/Homer/Rosa/Oprah Tell all

  28. i also wonder why in just this video there’re some artifacts on the video itself. lower quality. i’ve a s5 mini and it does that. also it’s not full screen on my phone

  29. Loved the story line and the cut scene was awesome. All the parallels between that and 2001A Space Odyssey was just fantastic. Anyone up to making a scene-byscene comparison? Am I the only one old enough to have seen that movie? 🙂

    • Not up to it but can let you know you’re certainly not alone. I once had my ringtone as “Hello Hal.”

    • I’m old enough to remember. I love the movie. Way ahead of its time.

    • I noticed it and have been surprised by How many haven’t. It even the admin shave said and 2001: A Space Odyssey was referenced a lot in the old episodes – the episode where the ultra house tries to kill Homer is based on HAL from that movie – honestly watch it is awesome and count how many times the Simpson’s have referenced it!

    • It’s definitely a classic and, as LM said, was ahead of its time when it came out. (No passenger service to the moon yet, though. 😉 ).

I’m not sure if Millenials, in general, would be able to “handle” this movie though, given their commonly nano-second attention spans. I also think it was really meant to be seen (at least initially) in a movie theater…it needs that kind of “dark room with no distractions” atmosphere to really pull you in (I think).

That said, I think it’s one of those must-see movies, if for no other reason than that it is so frequently referenced in other things.

It also reflects the general distrust that society had at that time…lots of movies about “rogue” computers around then (War Games, Collosus: The Forbin Project, etc.). Many years ago, I had an idea about writing a book about the evolution of society’s view of computers as reflected in movies, but I never got my act together to do it and I’m sure that, by now, someone has beaten me to it.

  30. when i saw it first I was like… wait… Maggie is… and mind blown… blown more then the city. i was shocked. and then fell down in laughter cause in italian it was “Ring a-ring o’ roses” that R.O.S.A sung. I loved it.
    We’re Maggie… after 4 years i’m shocked. I need cookies!
