Time to explore a galaxy far far away…as the Space Update teased by EA has hit our games!
This is an IN-GAME UPDATE, so no need to download a new update from the app store (as long as you’ve downloaded the winter removal update. If you’re still seeing snow in Springfield, you won’t see the Space Update).
Kent Brockman will auto-start this for you. After the first part (which is basically instant built), you’ll need Comic Book Guy free to start part 2 and Homer free for the task…which is 6s. At that point you’ll unlock a few of the Deep Space Homer items in the store. Once you complete another 6s task for Homer the “event” itself will start. At least initially, this looks similar to the Thanksgiving Event we had this past year. Where you complete tasks to unlock prizes.
I’ll be back with more details as soon as I go through it all….
It looks like (at least initially) this “event” is 2 weeks long…so it’ll end just in time for a Valentine’s Day Event..
Sorry this took me a little longer than anticipated to update…dealing with a 2 month old who didn’t want to nap today.
First up, from what I can tell by the game script requirements. You have to have Quimby unlocked in order to start this.
So, as mentioned above this is similar to the Thanksgiving Event, where you have to complete tasks in order to unlock prizes. The prize task screen will open for you once you’ve completed Mars Won Pt. 3.

Think John is actually asking if there is a cut-scene animation video, and to that, I didn’t see one.
My event hasn’t started and I do not have barneys bowlarama to purchase anymore, any ideas???

Bought Barney as soon as I saw the 130 donuts back. I got 2 Barneys for less than 1, holding out was very worth it.

Probably Monday. I try to take the weekends off…
Space simulator and astronaut Barney are awesome! Gets you five stars every 3 hours. Plus a fun quest line & fun animations. Barney doesn’t walk around town for his event tasks, he does hand springs!
As disappointed as I was for getting Barney in the first place, space Barney is finally making up for that. I highly recommend this one.
Just wanted to take a second to thank everyone in this community. If it were not for you and your comments along with the Addicts, I would have never known about the Easter Egg. So, thanks for being an active participant on this site.

I haven’t seen this here yet, but…..
We got to the point in the game where we get the shuttle hanger. We placed it, but now it’s gone, right away. Now we can’t continue because it says the building is missing. “job location for job Collect Payments is currently not available” is what the error message says.
Do lots of people have this, or do I need to figure out how to contact EA?

Is there,a glitch??? My storyline just stopped. I am at the ” make,associates collect payment”, but it won’t let me send the characters to complete it. Also, the tasks for Database, Martin and Millhouse, to hang out at the hangar can’t be done, I’m assuming because I don’t have the hangar. But there’s nothing prompting me. Any idea what to do to move this along? ?
The hanger is needed for the task. It’s the prize before, you may have to contact EA to get it if it didn’t unlock for you
Im having the same issue. According to my Springfield, I received the hangar but I don’t remember placing it, nor is it in my inventory. I can’t do the Martin, Millhouse, Database quest to hang out in hangar obviously. another thing I noticed, the second part of that hanger quest is to collect 45 stars which I have done. I sent my characters on another star task and the star count will not move up. So, I’m not going to send characters to earn stars until this is fixed…..
Just a follow up — I contacted EA twice. The first time, I was just sent the list of links to check if the app was up to date and so forth, and that they were closing the case. I emailed back in response, and got this for an answer:

This is Pranay again looking into your issue. I am sorry to know that the troubleshooting steps didn’t work.
However, I am afraid that we don’t have any way to figure this out, why the Shuttle Hangar is not appearing in the game. So, all I can suggest you to post this as a bug report in our forums page (http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/categories/list.page).
Most of our developers take their leads from the forums, so you should definitely post something up there. The more people you get to talk about the issues you are experiencing, the more the developers will take notice.

I was hoping that EA would at least pretend to try a little harder at this. This one was actually on my wife’s game. She’s just decided to take a break from the game for a while. Can’t say as I blame her, but I’m sure she’ll be back for Valentines Day… 🙂
Try using the phone option to contact them, instead. The folks in the Texas call center are much more knowledgable and able to help than the folks you get via email/chat…
Hey guys, don’t know if this happened to any of you but after downloading the last update, my game reset and I just can’t get back into my Level 59 Springfield. Anyone had that happen before? 🙁

Hey Bunny, thanks for the link! You guys really do an amazing work! I have tried unistalling/reinstalling the game, loging out/back in and restarting my device, none of which helped. I have no problem loging in and it actually says on the splash screen that I have a level 59 Springfield linked to my EA account, but whenever I tap to start the game I always get a message saying that my device hasn’t stored my previous game and that I should login before continuing (or start a new game – GOD NO), which brings me back to the splash screen. I guess the next step would be to just contact EA, right?

Just got a small update ! Where I got my 130 donuts back plus barney, ty ea , early to day it took my donuts but I never got barney or my 130 donuts back ,
I made a special area for all the space stuff and I even put the hail ants sign and the ufp from Halloween there!
How in the world do we get a space port before an airport? I’m not complaining though…one of my favorite episodes ever and I had to have Barney and simulator as well. I won 100 donuts on a scratcher today…Astronaut Barney was quickly mine.
After going mad with the scratch cards I had enough donuts and got barney. I love him!! Best deal ever
I feel like we should have gotten Buzz as a new character along side another outfit for the king of outfits (homer)
I certainly hope that they give Deep Space Homer an animation where he flies around eating the chips. Could work like the Santa/Newchopper animations.

since I am seeing alot of issues when buying Barney should I just wait till the problems are fixed or just buy it and hope I don’t get the same issue?
Some people are having the issues, some aren’t. But i’d wait a couple of days to be safe

These ads suck.If they keep up every minute like this site will be unusable.

WordPress always tells me it’s not them and it’s your device. Either you have a virus or something else is causing it. Drives me nuts.
Android here and been having that problem. Usually while I’m writing a comment the screen goes blank and a video pops up, when I go back everything I’ve written is gone

Sorry, no, kindle. It doesn’t seem to be happening at the moment, but earlier today it was maddening. I’m just glad it’s a glitch and not a purposeful change in ad policy…
I’m not having this specific issue, but basically any time I accidentally tap an ad (that’s loaded right where the comment link was a second ago) I get sent to sites that crash my device completely. I’d say wordpress needs to screen their advertisers a little better.
Happens to me since I got a new iPhone. Works fine on the old iPad though. And also no issue reading the blog on my laptop.

Show some appreciation for all their hard work, where you don’t pay a single cent, or if it bugs you that much simply don’t benefit from this site & leave. Really not necessary to be negative if. you are a regular you know all three are either very busy or not feeling well, don’t waste their time!

You call it wasting their time to report a glitch that makes their site unusable? And where exactly was I being negative? Saying screen hijacking infinitely looping ads suck? I’m sure you love them, but I think most would agree that they’re not a net positive addition to the user experience… By the way, by using this site regularly I am generating ad revenue for its creators, they aren’t running a charity. I show my appreciation for their work by engaging with the site thus generating ad revenue as well as occasionally answering questions I know the answer to in the comments, thus encouraging others to engage with the site. My primary purpose for coming to this site is to get info on tsto and hear what players are saying about the game, not to socialize with the creators. If I was no longer able to fulfill that purpose here, you’re right, I would leave. But first I’d voice my disapproval of the change. That’s what I was doing in the original post. The barrage of ads I was experiencing would’ve made the site useless to me. If that was a glitch I wanted to report it, if it was by design I wanted to voice my disapproval. The fact that I care enough to do either should be evidence that I appreciate this site…
Problem is we don’t control the ads. Trust me when I say that any revenue earned goes right back into keeping this thing running. We don’t profit at all from this behemoth. I’m sure Alissa will look into it but unfortunately there’s not much that can be done. The ads are a small price to keep Addicts going.

Don’t overreact. I didn’t get that vibe at all. If EA hacked your device through this game that would be fine if you’re freemium? This is a good and important topic they brought up. I’ve had hijacking ads, too. Only on this site, nowhere else. Not even other WordPress sites. Not as much of a biggie for me, but annoying nonetheless. If this was more common then it would be fine to have loads of people give up on this site because they feel like they’re being hacked? The traffic would decrease and so would the revenue. Thankfully this doesn’t seem to affect a lot of people. And the people it does affect are looking for a fix, not just bailing.
I use android tablet and have never had any problems with ads ever……sympathies with those who do ….is it to do with settings on your device?

Android here as well. It could be anything, yes. That’s part of why we should try not to make things personal, whether being insulted or insulting others. Anyways, my only thought is to clear the cache of the browser. If the issue repeats it still might have been from a one time cause but the cache might hold on to it for you. I don’t recommend it at the moment because Sandra didn’t have a good experience. 😛 I haven’t tried it, myself. Part of why I hadn’t brought it up.
Yesterday, I bought Barney, this is a great deal, problem is, the game took my 250 donuts but I did not get Barney or the Bowlarama or the 130 donut rebate. Did anyone else have this problem? I contacted EA but I have not heard back. Any suggestions? Very Frustrating:(

Update: I got Barney and the bonus donuts this evening.
Not to go against myself or anything because ive been waiting to get barney and now with the awesome deal for him im deff getting him… But for all you disappointed that already has barney.. I agree ypu should be getting the space outfit for free.. Bc yes it is offered to me with the purchase of barney with that said i would say all who already own him should throw a complaint to EA ita fairly east to reach a representative online… Maybe theyll give it for free for all who already own barney
I’ve wanted Barney since I started playing 2 years ago. I’ve been trying to save up free donuts and always another deal that I couldn’t pass up. I was 61 donuts short to get him for this deal. I bought a golden scratcher for $0.99 (the only real $ I’ve spent on the game) and won 50 donuts. Wooohooo! I think with the rail yard, finding Maggie and neighbor visits, I will be able to finally get him without spending anymore actual money!
I’ve played this game for three years now, and probably needed at least another three to justify buying Barney for 250 donuts. There are just too many other things available for my hard-earned freemium donuts. But I snapped him up at 120.
I was wondering what those were and then I remembered “Deep Space Homer.” “Careful they’re ruffled!”
For some reason I completed part 1 and am on part2. But can’t find the part 1 building anywhere. Not in inventory and my characters aren’t tied up. Part 2 tasks are available but my characters can’t go on them because I’m missing the building. Is this happening to anyone else? Tried restarting and going to neighbours to trigger it but nothing is happening.
Did you get the box that popped up saying you unlocked it and could place or Store it?
No I didn’t. ….. just wondering what else is supposed to happen for that to occur..
That means the prize didn’t trigger. I would contact EA. Tell them it’s moved you onto Pt. 2 but the Pt. 1 prize never triggered. You never received the prize popup and it’s not in your town.

When the event started, it said a building would give starsome every 3 hours. I taped to fast and didn’t catch the which building. Can anyone tell me?!
The nara training center, the first prize
For some reason I didn’t get the part 1 building after I completed it. It’s not in my inventory. I’m on part 2 but my characters can’t do the tasks without the building from part 1. I don’t think any of my characters are tied up doing anything either. Is this happening to anyone?
