Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
Here we are in Act 2 and we’re all still wondering the same thing…how do I get more Chronons? Will I earn everything in time? Why the heck is this so difficult?!
So let’s all take a deep breath…and read as I breakdown the math and how to succeed in getting everything…. (Warning…there’s a LOT of words in this post…hope I don’t make your head hurt after reading it all…)
So, I’m not going to lie to you guys. This isn’t going to be easy (and by not easy I mean, time consuming..to an extent). Most of you will go right down to the wire to earn all of the Act 2 prizes. And it’s going to take regular consistent tapping to get there. (and pretty much 5 times/day tapping)
Ironically (or as intended by EA), the Act 2 Currency is Chronons, as in Time. And it’s going to take a lot of time to get everything!
To say I’m less than thrilled with this, is an understatement. I love this event, quite honestly. It’s fun and full of witty dialogue. Not to mention the Future Episodes are always a favorite of mine to watch..so the idea of having a Future area in my Springfield is something I’m very excited about. But the amount of stress this is causing many of you is very upsetting to me. This is a game, and games are supposed to be fun. And it’s not fun when you feel stressed out about it.
I get that EA is trying to make things harder, or get us to spend donuts on things. Especially with so many ways to earn free donuts in the game these days. But the best thing about this game has always been that you can earn everything in it for free. Just as long as you’re consistent with your tapping and you get into your game early and often.
And that is still true for this event. You can achieve everything in the game without spending a single donut..and still getting 8hrs of sleep. But it takes a LOT of tapping. And it makes me nervous for the future of Events, and the ability to earn everything for free.
So before I get into the Math I would just like to ask EA to please be careful. Don’t go the way of TinyCo on that “other game”. This game has ALWAYS been superior because you don’t set unrealistic goals for players. And many players have stopped playing that “other game” because of the unrealistic goals set. So please keep TSTO a fun and enjoyable gaming experience.
Now that I’ve said my peace…on with the Math.
First, as with ALL events, you must log into your game consistently each day throughout the event in order to get everything. If you only log in once or twice a day it’s going to be impossible to earn all of the prizes, without spending donuts (via the prize track). This is true for ALL TSTO Events, not just this one. It takes regular, consistent, diligent tapping to earn everything.
Second, because several of you were upset with my last math post (where I suggested to login 5 times a day), I’ve broken this one out into three groups. Those that can log in 3 times/day, 4 times/day and 5 times/day. And I will tell you the more you tap the easier it will be to get everything. The less you tap the more you’re going to have to rely on luck of daily tasks and premium items.
Here are my recommended schedules for those 3:
3 Times/day– Tap when you wake up, when you get home from work (or school), before you go to bed. (assuming you get home from work four hours before you go to bed) This involves ZERO tapping at work.
4 Times/day- Tap when you wake up, at lunch, when you get home from work or school and before you go to bed.
5 Times/Day- Suggested tapping schedule: 6am, 10am, 2pm, 6pm, 10pm.
All three of those methods take into account getting (at least) 8hrs of sleep a night. There’s no need to lose sleep, unless you want to of course.
I also want to remind you…that you’ll only need to be in your game for less than 1 minute each time (with the exception of neighbor actions). It takes less than 1 minute to clear your PolyVac, reassign the multiverse Homers, start the mini game (which when started automatically clear the Robots in your town, so you won’t need to go searching for those guys) and play the mini game.
And yes there are some of you who are going to tell me you have lives. I do too. So I get it. I do. Life is WAY more important than a game. It really and truly is. So if your life takes you away from the game so you can’t get in regularly, that’s ok. But don’t complain that EA doesn’t take into account the fact that you have a life. Their goal is to keep you in the game, tapping and playing.
Now that we’ve discussed the different tapping schedules, let’s breakdown all the ways to earn
during Act 2.
First up the Freemium ways….
-Robots in Springfield. They max out at 80 Robots, and after 4hrs your town will be full of them. So they’re 80 Robots/4hrs. Each Robot earns 1
. So that’s 80
/4hrs from Robots.
-Multiverse Homers. There are 5 Multiverse Homers, who each have a 4hr task at the PolyVac earning 33
each. So that’s 165
/4hrs from the Multiverse Homers.
-The SciFighter Mini Game. Tapping as many robots inside the game in 20 seconds will earn you even more Chronons. The SciFighter payout for Act two is as follows: 50
just for playing, 3
for every second you last (so if you go all 20 seconds this number is 60), 1
for every Robot Tapped and 2
for every Jet cleared (2 taps). This time it’s a little harder, so let’s assume you earn an average of 130
/4hrs via the game. (worse case scenario)
So those are the 3 regular 4hr ways to earn Chronons. So this will yield (at least) 375 ![]()
-Neighbor Actions. Once a day you can collect chronons from clearing Robots in neighbor’s towns. You get at least 84 actions per day, and each pays out 2
(unless you tap an anomaly, but because they’re hard to predict let’s assume just Robots). So that’s 168
/day from Neighbor Actions
-Daily Tasks. You will occasionally get a daily task that will yield 1100
. These again are hard to predict, so for the purposes of this let’s assume you only get two daily tasks for Act 2 that will yield 1100
. So that comes to 2,200
for all of Act 2. (yes, you can skip other tasks (multiple times) to try and get a task that pays out Chronons. And yes you could easily get 3 or 4 challenges to earn Chronons. But I’m assuming worst case scenarios here)
-Main questline. Via the Smack to the Future (main) questline for Act 2 you can earn 863
if you don’t have Profressor Frink and 896
if you do have Professor Frink. However, in a few places the tasks are for the Mulitverse Homer’s to perform tasks at the PolyVac. Since they’re already factored in above we have to subtract them from here. So let’s assume 467
without Frink and 500
with Frink from the main questline.
-Mooch Bart questline. Once you unlock him (first prize on the prize track) his questline will earn you more Chronons. So that’s an additional 363
from that questline. (President Lisa will earn them too, but at that point (because it’s the last Act 2 prize) I recommend saving her questline for Act 3)
-Cryo Stasis Memorial questline. Once you unlock it (5th prize on the prize track) it’ll come with a short 3 part questline. You’ll earn an additional 66
if you don’t have Jasper and 99
if you do have Jasper.
Those are all the FREE (and pretty much guaranteed) ways to earn Chronons during Act 2.
Now let’s look at the premium additions:
-Grimes and/or Rocker Maggie at the PolyVac. That’s an additional 66
/4hrs each. So if you have both that’s an additional 132
/4hrs.
-Elysium Project. If you purchase this you’ll earn an additional 100
/4hrs.
-Ladybot Questline. If you purchase the Lady Bot you’ll earn additional
via her questline. Her questline will earn you an additional 396
AND once the questline is complete she’ll have a task at the PolyVac. She’ll earn 66
/4hrs.
And that’s it from the premium options. I’m not going to include them in the numbers below, because they’ll vary for everyone. But from the list above you can see how much better shape you’ll be in for the Chronons prize track with these items.
Oh and one more thing. Many of you only unlocked Sgt. Skinner yesterday or the day before. His questline will now pay out
. So that’ll help you earn even more!
So now let’s put it all together. Well the freemium stuff anyway. We’ll start with the 5 time/day players and work our way down.
Again I’m assuming WORST Case Scenario and assuming no premiums (that includes Frink and Jasper)
First let’s establish you’ll need 29,100
to unlock President Lisa. And via the Calendar we know you need 2,080
/day.
Now there are a few numbers that are overall
earnings, not something you can earn each day. Those are:
-Main questline (Smack to the Future)- 467![]()
-Mooch Bart Questline- 363![]()
-Cryo Stasis Memorial Questline- 66![]()
-And assuming (at least) 2 Daily Challenges for 1,100
each- 2,200![]()
So to make things a little easier…let’s deduct that number from the 29,100
to figure out the new /day amount you’ll need assuming those factors.
So that’s 26,004
left to earn (after the questlines and assuming 2 Daily Challenges).
Which means you’ll need to earn approx 2,000
/day via the Robots, PolyVac & Neighbor Actions.
And again remember… you’ll only need to be in your game for less than 1 minute each time (with the exception of neighbor actions). It takes less than 1 minute to clear your PolyVac, reassign the multiverse Homers, start the mini game (which when started automatically clear the Robots in your town, so you won’t need to go searching for those guys) and play the mini game.
Logging in Every 4hrs 5 Times a Day
Neighbors- 168
/day
Multiverse Homer Tasks- 165
/4hrs x 5= 825
/day
Robots- 80
/4hrs x 5= 400
/day
Mini Game- Assuming (at least) 130
/4hrs x 5= 650
This gives you a total of 2,043
/day.
If you log in 5 times a day you’ll easily unlock all of the prizes. (and you won’t need any premium items to do it).
Logging in Every 4hrs 4 Times a Day
Neighbors- 168
/day
Multiverse Homer Tasks- 165
/4hrs x 4= 660
/day
Robots- 80
/4hrs x 4= 320
/day
Mini Game- Assuming (at least) 130
/4hrs x 4= 520
This gives you a total of 1,668
/day. If you only log in 4 times/day you’ll need higher Mini Game totals or more 1,100
Daily Challenge Payouts or you’ll need to purchase some premium items/characters.
Logging in Every 4hrs 3 Times a Day
Neighbors- 168
/day
Multiverse Homer Tasks- 165
/4hrs x 3= 495
/day
Robots- 80/4hrs x 3= 240
/day
Mini Game- Assuming (at least) 130
/4hrs x 3= 390
/day
This gives you a total of 1,293
/day. If you only log in 3 times /day you’ll really need to rely on some premium characters. (and a lot of luck with Daily challenges) Because just regular tapping, without premiums you won’t even make it to the 5th prize..let alone President Lisa.
Of course this isn’t meant to discourage ANYONE who logs in less than 5 times a day. This is merely telling you what you may need to do if you want to get it all. You may need to skip a few daily challenges in a row (hit the x, remember you can only x 1 out every 24hrs) until you get one to pay out
, you may have to think about investing in a premium character for this event (if you don’t already have one) and you may have to adjust your tapping schedule if you truly want it all.
Do I like that you have to grind it out and stress about getting into your game 5 times a day to get everything easily? No. But is it completely obtainable? Yes. Do you have to lose sleep to achieve it all? Absolutely not.
The best advice I can give you is to figure out what works best for you and make adjustments along the way.
And that’s it on the math post my friends!
What are your thoughts on the math? Have any positive tips for other players? How are you doing so far? On target? Behind? Ahead? Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

Man, I SOOOO hate to be “that guy”, but the scary math and my limited tapping ability at work compels me (as opposed to the power of Christ)…
But, can someone re-explain this regarding daily tasks:
yes, you can skip other tasks (multiple times) to try and get a task that pays out Chronons
I have only been able to skip once per task, and it’s only turned donuts to cash and future bucks to smart devices. I hate to publicly be dense (as I know I saw the multiple skip thing here somewhere but can’t find it now), but the power of scary math compels me… the power of scary math compels me… the power of scary math compels me…
You can only skip one task per day, but you can skip a given task as many times as you want (i.e. you can keep skipping the same task position day after day) until it becomes something you want. But, in the meantime, you’re getting other tasks each day and you can’t have more than three in your game at one time. Also, you’ll sometimes get tasks you kinda can’t avoid completing, so you won’t have the opportunity to swap those out.
Does that help at all?
Absotively and posolutely – never tried that.
Thanks!
It looks like you have to dismiss a task at least twice. First time it switches from an event task to a general task for money or donuts. Only if you dismiss that one again the next day, you will get another event related task, which might give you the coveted Chronons. Of course, it’s more than likely you’ll get another task for future bucks, robot parts or donuts. And, as Sandra said, sometimes you get tasks you can’t help but complete, not affording you the chance to skip it again the next day.
For those that can’t (or won’t) PM, one can figure out the glitch via googling (although the relevant website may be in another language).
I am now convinced that it is an easter egg and not a glitch. Think about it. We are accumulating a currency called Chronons, and they are found abundant where a premium time apparatus is found among a neighbor’s town.
I think so too, I checked again this morning….still works. I hope the people who are stressed on here figure it out 🙁 I would’ve been right alongside with them if I didn’t come across it on the ea forum
Tried googling with new luck. Would you mind PMing me the glitch or Easter egg as some are calling it. Thanks!
There is no PM feature on this site, so you’ll need to work out with whomever you want to PM you where you’ll both go to do this.
ORQUID- It’s on the EA forum. I just skipped through the pages and found a clear explanation. EA must surely know about it by now😂…..💜X
Dose Mooch Bart have a task at the poly vac after his questline.
Someone else said that he doesn’t have any currency-generating tasks once his questline is complete. 🙁
Hawaii Player. Locked out 11:30 HI time. Server appears down. I’m ahead on the count but this will definitely but a dent in the bonuts category towards the end.
Ok I know I sound like a complete noob, but how do you pm? I want the info everyone is talking about. I know what pm stands for, just not sure how I go about doing that.
On the official EA forum. go the website and log in
You can’t do that on this site (unfortunately)…you’ll have to go to another TSTO site that has that option. 🙁
The EA site is down I think, because every time I tried to log in, it said it couldn’t process my request at this time. It’s ok though, thanks to your earlier post , I figured it out. 😉 I will say that I am not going to go overboard. I agree with Alissa that it takes the fun out of the game. I’d just like to be where I’m supposed to be at the end of the act. And unfortunately I can’t get on my game exactly every four hours, and every time I forget or am busy being a mom, it pushes the time further back, to the point that by the time the day is done I will only have gotten in three taps, sometimes four, but very rarely five.
Forgot to say, Thank You to both of you! I appreciate your help.💜
“Mystery thread” is the title of the forum post.
PM means Private Message.
trying to justify exploiting a glitch is in and of itself a sign of guilt. it is the same as hacking. so just own up to the fact that you are cheating and you will probably sleep better tonight. oh and quit being so pedant, most of us play by the rules and don’t need you guys bragging about who cheats the most. other than that i absolutely love this site, very, very helpful.
Not sure who that’s directed at. Me?
probably just mad they haven’t figured out how to exploit it themselves.
Lol!
TAPEBELT- Ditto😂😂😂I just went to the aforementioned thread that Sillyboy mentioned and scrolled through all the messages. It’s there with all the details for anyone who wants to try it out. It was so easy to find that EA surely knows about it now. I was too lazy to milk it too much but tried it to see if it worked and it did. If I had more patience & time I know I could have got Pres Lisa but I really love playing the game and the sense of gratification I get when I (hopefully) get the last prize)…..💜X
I was thinking the same…
no, not you, Alissa. not really anyone specific. i just think its kinda funny that the ppl that abuse glitches are the same ppl that complain that its too easy, or they’re bored. i’m not saying that its wrong to take advantage of glitches, but i don’t think one should brag about it. i really do appreciate what you do with this site and i didn’t mean to offend you at all. oh and you don’t have to post this. just wanted to let you know but there’s no pm. now i will go back into the shadows and never post again. lol
aw don’t hide 🙂 I love when the community participates, no matter what they say. And don’t let anyone bully you back into the shadows. Your opinion and voice is just as important as those that comment hundreds of times a day. 🙂
It’s the shoddy programming which makers glitches possible. If Ifind a glitch, I use it to the maximum. That will teach EA.
I do buy donuts with real money!
Lighten up Francis. There is no law about exploiting a glitch and it doesn’t affect anybody. No need to admit guilt or cheating. People play different ways. I’m not sure you know what pedant means– your post is much more pedantic than the other “glitch posts.”
If directed at me, sorry wasn’t bragging, just giving a little context. And I don’t feel guilty at all. I’ll take any opportunity to get ahead in this game, it helps alleviate any anxiety when I have to grind away til the last minute. It’s always hard to detect tone in a comments page, and I hope I didn’t come across as too negative, just as I hope I’m misreading your reply as hostile. Have a nice day.
lol, I don’t get why people care so much about how other people play. If people want to make the most of an opportunity it shouldn’t bother you… its just their gaming style. 🙂 🙂
Take a chill pill dude or dudette. No one is “cheating”. If EA wants to write the program a certain way, then it’s not “cheating”. Sheesh.
That’s a little harsh from EA, looking at it. I consider myself a dedicated player, but I can only take the 3/day approach because my school’s wifi blocks tapped out and hotspots are not allowed.
Forget Tapped Out, I’m locked out… Oh well as a long term player of the other game I’m used to this, so just chilling until everything is right with my multiverse again.
They may end up extending as a result if it’s widespread
Widespread here 🙁
Connection error? I got kicked out an hour or two ago and haven’t been able to get back in since. I feel better knowing it’s not just me though. Won’t get to my fifth time today if it’s not back in the next hour.
This would be much easier if I could get into my game. Haven’t been able to log in for a couple of hours now.
To all of us this is a little game that we all enjoy/enjoyed playing, I’ve been playing for 2 years and my wife for nearly 4 years.
It was/ is supposed to be just a few minutes away from our own hectic lifestyles, to have a little fun and get away from the stresses of life.
To me it seems now EA are just out to make more money from us by making tasks nearly impossible for the average player who can only only tap away once or twice a day
I agree with what you’re saying. But in fairness, you could never complete an event, in the history of this game, if you only logged in once or twice a day. It’s just not possible without spending donuts. It’s been like that for the entire history of the game.
Three if you want to finish at the buzzer, 4 if you want to finish a day or 2 ahead and 5 if you want a few days for bonuts. That’s the typical history of the game.
Sorry was just venting off at EA, we love what you all do for us helping us and aiding us in the game❤️❤️
Just unlocked Mooch Bart. Hoped he might have jobs that earn event currency, but sadly he doesn’t (except for his questline). This phase is going to be hard work for us free players!
You would think his voiced would have changed over the years.
lol!
My schedule (5 sometimes 6 days a week) only allows me to tap 4 times a day, and sometimes less if I have to work through my lunch:
Wake up at 5am
Catch the bus to work at 6am (tap TSTO)
Start work at 7am
Lunch break at 11am (tap TSTO)
Get off work at 5pm (tap TSTO)
Have dinner
Log in at 9pm bed time (tap TSTO)
For those like me who can only tap 4 times a day, this is a bit unfair. Not that I think it’s intentional, but EA’s math gears this toward upper class folks who have the time to take breaks any time they want and tap 5 times a day. Sure, I could wake up in the middle of the night to get one more tap in. But then I risk losing sleep, being less focused at my intense job, risk making mistakes and risk losing my job as well.
I am definitely in the “this game is fun” and “nothing good in life is easy to attain” school of thought. But, as Alissa said, this is more about frustration than fun. This is more about the unfairness of the event math, which has nothing to do with making it more “challenging”. Saddens me that I have to spend hard earned donuts at the end of this act again, just to earn a character that’s free for others on a less tight schedule… 😕
EA should gear every event toward the average player, not the elite tappers with extra free time. If they fear they will be giving away too many ‘bonuts’ they can increase the threshold for them after the end of the prize track. It’s just bad game design the way it is now. 24-28 log ins per week seems reasonable, not 35+!
“(which when started automatically clear the Robots in your town, so you won’t need to go searching for those guys)”
So we get credit/rewards for any robots roaming our town or do you mean they just disappear? I’ve always tried to clear them before the mini game because I noticed they would all be gone afterwards. I guess I never noticed that I earned the Chronos and stuff.
yes, you get credit – no need to hunt them all down first.
If you watch the screen, right after you start the minigame, and before/as the countdown begins, you’ll just be able to catch that a few words float quickly by – these tell you how many currency, etc you’ve earned from the Polyvac zapping all the robots in town before your minigame begins; it’s typically 80 for each if you havent tapped any recently. 🙂
What about the Big Digi-Ben thing? Does it help?
it’s no different than the PolyVac.
Thanks, Alissa. I was not sure if it increased your payout, but if it does not then definite pass for an in game clock.
But it does kill the robots every hour, right? Does the game only release the maximum over 4 hours, or can we get more robots by logging in in-between? (Like every 2 hours).
Yes! This is something I haven’t really been able to figure out yet…
If you’re someone who can log in every 4hrs on the dot, is it worth it to come tap in between, say, every two hours?
Or are only 80 robots available total per 4 hour period, so it’s a waste of time?
(Any time I’ve tried to pay attention & check, I go over 4 hours, hahaha)
Every 4 hours. Nothing else really matters. You have hit the nail on the head. 80 clear as soon as you hit your PolyVac. Just keep your alter-Homers active…same 4 hour cycle.
Shhhhhhh.
Quick tip… clear all the robots in your town BEFORE you play the polyvac game. It generates new robots just to play the polyvac game. I’ve already got Mooch Bart and I play every few hours or so.
New robots are always generated for the Polyvac game, and all the robots from your town are cleared when you start the game (and you still get credit for them). Saves time just to do the Polyvac and not worry so much about tapping robots.
I got the same number of chronons from the polyvac game whether I tapped all my robots before or not so I was losing out.
No, you weren’t, I promise! 🙂
Leave some robots in town before you play @ the PolyVac next. Watch the screen after you tap the start button; you should see a flash (quick & easy to miss, but it’s there!) & watch the, oh, lower 3rd of your screen just before/during the countdown – you’ll see some tiny words scroll up the screen, and it says how many Chronons you earned for zapped robots in your town.
After you play the game, it only tells you how many points you go for robots IN (mini)GAME, because it already told you how much you earned for the intown robots.
Another way to check would be to note how many Chronons you have before you start the PolyVac, then subtract the amount you received during the minigame – you should have a remainder of at least 30 & up to 80, depending on how many robots were intown.
HTH, because it’s a HUGE time-/tap-saver! 😉
I still tap every robot that I come across. TAP! That will teach them 🤖👈
A tough schedule but nothing good ever comes easy no? Clearly EVERY opportunity to earn currency is gonna be key so this brings me to my call for help… I’ve had a challenge for the past 3 days that tells me to clear the polyvac of robots “without sustaining damage”. What does this mean??? I’ve cleared and won many times in any way I can think of (incl w/flash) but still haven’t cleared the challenge. What is “damage” and what am I NOT doing that is somehow inflicting this unseen damage on my polyvac? Help me… I really need those 1100 Chronons if we are to have a female president in my future Springfield!
That means don’t let a Robot hit your PolyVac. Meaning your life bar has to stay full and green through the entire battle.
It means that none of the robots get to the poly vac (your green meter should stay full).
There’s a small damage meter (green bar) which has to remain green. Any other color means damage. The only way I could prevent damage, was using two photo flashes.
None of my friends have the item for the glitch. I just want to use it a few times to give me a cushion. Anyone who has the item, please add me.
I have the item but I’m a graffiti fiend & I’m trying to offload neighbours, sorry! I’m also doing it the hard grind way as most of my neighbours are not playing this one let alone have the requisite item. Happy hunting…..💜X
Please explain the glitch. I can’t find any info on it and I’m always down for a good “exploit” 😉
I concur. Why do people here hide information about an easter egg that can help regular users? I cannot log into EA Forums, the server seems to be on the fritz for hours. Can someone please help by posting here?
If it’s truly an Easter egg, then there’s absolutely no benefit to hiding the info from others, outside of pure selfishness. But, when it’s a beneficial glitch/bug/coding error on EA’s part, then the concern is that, by talking about it openly, EA will discover their error and correct it, so that it no longer works for anyone. So the eternal debate is whether it’s better for more people being able to take advantage of it for a short time, or fewer people being able to take advantage of it for a longer time.
That said, if you’re willing to do some work and read through the comments sections of the posts here from the last few days, you can find the info you seek. Perhaps that’s the best approach…post the info only once or twice, making it less likely that “eavesdroppers” from EA will spot it, but making it possible for determined readers to find it. I had actually seen it here before I started asking people for the info, but I wasn’t sure that that was what folks were talking about (and the info provided was actually a bit incomplete), which is why I did post asking for help.
Alternatively, you could also hang out at a site that has private messaging functionality (which this site does not have), like the UK site…that allows people to share info like that without it being exposed for EA to easily see. (Of course, even there, there’s no way of knowing who might be an employee of EA, asking for the info to find out what their mistake was, unless you only PM with people you’ve developed some kind of “relationship” with.)
Completely understandable. Don’t want the “man” to catch on. I was lucky once with the sh tennis courts (which I found out about on one of these sites). Perhaps a subtle hint. In general, I think the greatest flaw with this game is the need to consult these blogs to figure out the ins & outs of the mini games. No offense to the people who create these sites, but if there is always so much confusion when an event starts (the demo/future bucks raging being a perfect example). EA really fails at clearly explaining things. Back when video games were new, (the classic arcade thru Nintendo NES years of my youth). There would be a few cheap paperbacks or magazines dedicated to ‘beating’ or ‘cheats’. These thing weren’t essential but could enhance game playing. Now, it seems, you can’t fully experience a game without outside help. Sorry 4 the ramble, I was gonna post these thoughts on a Sunday thread, but got carried away!
ITA – between the info that’s not clearly explained in the game and the info that’s just plain missing in the game, I can’t understand how anyone can start playing this game without help from sites like this. And those who do okay without them are likely making zillions of “mistakes” and are probably not very successful in it. Once you’ve been playing for a good while, you cash probably figure a lot of stuff out on your own, but there’s still missing info all the time (especially details about items you can earn or purchase) that we only get because Alissa (et al) can see stuff in the game files.
I remember when I first started playing this game (during the Stone Cutter event) that I didn’t have a clue. I was spending my doughnuts to speed up routine tasks, etc. I ended up discarding that first attempt at playing the game and started over with a new game. I didn’t realize how precious doughnuts were. I found TSTO Addicts a couple of months after I started playing, and I can’t tell you just how helpful this blog is. I’ve learned an incredible amount of information here, and I’ve appreciated all of the help from the moderators and other participants (like you Sandra). 😃
In return, I hope that I’ve been able to help out some people along the way too. Sharing tips like: Farming, beneficial glitches, and other methods and design techniques makes this game even more fun. I enjoy visiting this blog almost as much as playing the game itself.
For these reasons, I think that sharing the current glitch (or Easter egg if you will) is a great way of uniting the TSTO community.
I totally agree! We’re a gaming community, thats why we’re all here. We should be able to share information with eachother and help eachother out when things like this happen. I don’t think I can post the info directly here, I agree with sandrashill, try another website that allows PM, there are many people out there with the info and everyone is willing to share on PM.
Im all for a good Easter egg (tickling homer to get the statue was an early welcome surprise) but little things like disabliing the ‘confirm donut spend’ are things that got past me before discovering these sites. 9almost quit the game after rushing a blue or brown house multiple times back in the day) I guess my earlier rant could be boiled down to this – Tips sites should be “tips”, but we all rely on them for fundamental game play. EA knows this, so they don’t make the effort to explain things well. I have what I call my “sandwich rule” you shouldn’t need a fork to eat a sandwich(or taco). If it falls apart after a few bites & you need silverware to finish, the restaurant has failed you. I apply this to many things in life ( example: Company help sites that rely on their forums to troubleshoot aren’t doing their job, etc. ) I love this game but time & time again EA fails the sandwich rule;)
EA (probably) monitors this blog, and other sites. If we say the glitch out loud, EA will catch on and fix it. Sometimes I wonder if EA writes glitches into the program on purpose to stir up a little buzz?
Hmm..hoping I’m not posting twice but the initial post appears to be lost.
Regarding the PolyVac (and all other tapping mini-games like the chili turtles) you can tap more of them if you do have access to a tablet device. More screenspace equals to more tapping things available…
Its not crucial but noticeable.
Regarding the PolyVac… it seems that playing on a tablet with more screenspace gets you also more robots to tap. Noticed this also at the chili mini-game. Its not that much but noticible.
Good math!
Coincidentally, I’ve been following the same schedule, and I have not had a problem earning enough event currency. I was able to win Sgt. Skinner five days before Act 1 ended. It can become a chore to log in every four hours, but I prefer that to the staggered tasks from previous events, like Monsarno and Monorail.
I did buy Rockstar Maggie, which helped alleviate the stress of worrying about completing the prize track. But I understand that is not an option for everyone, especially freemium players.
When I first started playing two years ago, it was in the middle of the Halloween event, and I could not catch up. I started waking up in the middle of the night just to send people on tasks. I did the same for the next couple of events before I broke down and paid donuts for characters that would help out. Now for every event, I consider buying a character or building that I like and that will also help earn event currency.
BTW, this is the first event that I’ve played in which EA has supplied the characters that are sent on tasks. For once, I don’t have to send Homer, Bart, Lisa, Wiggum, Cletus, pessimists, celebrities or dimwits on tasks. In my opinion, the event is easier because I don’t have to guess who will be needed next.
I am a fan of the multiverse Homers!
Yes! As you said in your post, it takes less than a minute to send them on their tasks and play the mini game. All the other characters can continue with their normal tasks.
For lower-level players, this means they can continue working on quests. Deciding whether to send characters on a quest or an event task was always a tough choice for me when I first started. I could either earn event currency or level up to unlock more characters, but not both.
Awesome math, wish I remembered to look at this for the first act, I didn’t get the last prize and its 147 donuts to get him. So moving on to act 2. I typically log on 3 times a day but that wasn’t enough, so trying the 4-5 times a day trick, just have to remember. Thanks again for the math stuff.
🙂 Just happy it helps…
Agree with everything you said! I got Sgt. Skinner with a few days to spare, with only one bonus round but it was still way more stressful than it needed to be (I only got 1 daily task that awarded dark matter, and that was when I nearly had Skinner anyway so I just saved it for the bonus round). If it wasn’t for Mega-Pinchy I probably wouldn’t have gotten all the Superhero 2 prizes either. I usually log in at least 3 times a day (same frequency for past events), sometimes up to 5 times a day depending on my schedule. Normally have no issues getting all the prizes, but as I said this event is significantly more stressful to do so.
Also I find I’m getting the same reward from the Sci-Fighter minigame as act 1, but am almost certain there are fewer to tap overall (roughly 150 DM in act 1, with about 40-50 robots tapped, while I tap about 30-40 now). I usually tap each one as soon as it appears, so it’s not because I’m doing it more slowly, but because there is definitely a lower spawn rate.
Off-topic, does anyone else feel like the Monorail parts you need are always the one you have the least of? Since the week started I’ve been full on glass and plastic, but every single time the biggest prize requires metal (sometimes a little plastic or glass too), so I’m always low on metal, and it takes forever and I’m forced to log in every hour to maximize profits 🙁
Yeah…I feel like the game says “oh, loaded up with glass and plastic? Well…I need lots of metal from you then!!!”
Don’t go for the biggest one – it’s not the most effective strategy for this game, especially when you’re looking on other stuff. Better to take a smaller box in hopes that it will uncover a task that lets you use plastic or glass (in your situation). You can ultimately finish faster that way.
Fair, but if I have the option between a box that rewards 3, 9, or 2000, I think I’m gonna go for 2000 😛
I usually bust out the 3 and 9 task because it’s usually literal trash anyway 😛 Then it gives me one with glass for 1500 and I’m happy.
Rocker Maggie is still gone from my game, and I JUST got enough donuts to get her. Guess I’ll miss out 🙁
Contact Ea let them know your timer was wrong. At the very least they may compensate you with donuts
Tried that, my in game contact isn’t working, does the old way still work?
It should.
Got a call, EA got me nowhere, its not in their system anymore, can’t add it, no offer of donuts in lieu. I did however mention how difficult this act is compared to last, he’s going to pass on the feedback apparently.
That’s annoying. Was it American Service? Or was it overseas?
Seemed to be American, but didn’t really say where he was from.
American services is overseas to me 😉
Im just baffled how SO MANY of us had incorrect timers, and all for about the same amount of time remaining…
This may have been mentioned somewhere else, but has anybody else noticed that we’re getting both Sgt. Skinner and characters from the Lisa is President episode in the same event? Aren’t those two of the most disliked episodes from the show’s golden years? Feels like Tapped Out is just throwing them out there to get them out of the way.
I knew about the Principal and the Pauper being disliked (although I do find it funny), but people don’t like Bart to the Future either? What?? That episode is also great!
testing testing, I can never seem to get my posts to actually post 🙁
My head is spinning from all of the math.
******
Many people may have noticed log-in issues last night and this morning. I think it was because they were fixing the glitch. Everything seems to be OK now.
So I guess I’m way ahead of the curve on act 2. What a relief to not have to think about the math now. I guess I’ll get a chance at some bonuts later. Yippee! 🙂
Ummm..it still works. (hence why i edited it. I don’t want those EA forum trolls coming to yell at me lol)
It didn’t appear to work for me this morning. Hmmmm. I will check it out again. Thanks for editing me. I don’t want to spill the beans if it’s still working. Ooops.
Try a different neighbor.
Definitely not working for me today (at least not with the neighbor I was using last night). I will keep trying. Weird.
It works for me still. However, I’m using my B game as the town to visit. If i try my C game (has all the same parameters) it doesn’t work.
Very weird. So I guess it’s not just me. Try tapping or not tapping the thing in question and see if that makes a difference.
Try a different neighbor. Yesterday’s neighbor didn’t work for me today, but another one did.
So I have two neighbors that I can do the thing with. One works, the other doesn’t. The one that doesn’t work this morning was working last night, but not this morning. There must be more to this than I understand, but at least I have two neighbors to play with. I’ll stop talking now. Blah, blah, blah. I don’t want to be a blabber mouth (more than I already am). ;-( 😉
lol I DO expect it to be fixed (unless this is the intention) today. I’m also not a believer in using glitches to finish out an Act. Takes away the fun (and purpose) of playing. To me using a glitch to get every prize is no different than a hacker using donuts (that they didn’t pay for) to finish an act in 1 day.
Gotta play it to enjoy it…
I’m so torn by these kinds of things. I have taken advantage in the past (money mountain), and I was glad I did, but I also felt dirty afterwards. I don’t see it as cheating, I see it as taking advantage of a loophole in the programming. I feel the same about about farming. If they’re going to provide a method, then they should expect that people will utilize the method. Humans are curious, intelligent animals. If there’s a tool available to get the banana down from the string hanging from the ceiling, then what’s so wrong about using the tool and eating the banana? It’s a sign of intelligence. 😉
Good luck, and happy tapping.
Farming is one thing…because they KNOW it’s happening and continue to allow it. (they even joke about it in the bloodmobile dialogue) Although I can’t see them letting that go as it does for much longer…
You’re right there’s nothing wrong with that. But what happens when the banana is on the ceiling and there’s no tool around? You’ve spent all of your time using the tool that you’ve forgotten what it was like to to do it without a tool.
There’s also taking advantage of it and there’s abusing it. (for both glitches and bonuts) Those who take advantage use it to give them a slight edge. You’ll farm donuts to unlock something you really want. But you’ll stop at a certain point. Abusing it is continuing to do it over and over and over again with no purpose other than to do it and collect the donuts. You don’t need thousands of donuts to enjoy the game…no one ever has. In my personal game, where I don’t rush, I usually get 2 boatloads a year and that’s PLENTY to get everything I want. So why does anyone need more than 4,000 donuts/year?
Same with this glitch. If you use it for a bit to get yourself a day or two ahead, so you have some breathing room (and don’t have to obsessively tap) that’s one thing. But to use it to max out your prize track in TWO DAYS (!), and then spend the next 12 days exploiting it for as many donuts as you can get (when there are so many other ways to get them) seems a little abusive.
Again, I’m not saying don’t use it. Hell I’m using it too. But I’m not abusing it. Actually I’ve gotten to a point in my game where I’m comfortable enough that I’m done using it.
or maybe we’re enjoying this new method of gameplay for act 2, and by the time we’re sick of exploiting it, we’ll be ready for act 3… instead of being burnt out on the whole event by the start of it! 🙂
either way, i strongly disagree with your take on it being no different than a hacker using a modded game to get unlimited donuts and spend them to rush/unlock whatever they want.
Well the number 1 thing people say about people who have all of the prizes by day 1 or 2 of an act is “they miss the entire purpose of playing the game”. Whether you’ve achieved that via illegally obtained donuts or a game glitch…the end result is still the same. You miss the entire purpose of playing the game…
I’m not saying don’t use a glitch. Hell i’m using it myself. But to use a glitch to max out your prize track (in day 2) and then stock your game with free donuts is essentially the exact same thing. The only difference is Hackers have it easier…but the end result you’re still exploiting something to take advantage of something else.
but i’m not cheating or doing anything illegal to take advantage of it, and i think that’s the key difference. as for the purpose of playing the game, i agree with you to a point…. but i think the purpose of playing a game can be different for anyone, and as long as they are having fun and still playing by the rules, that should be the main objective.
the glitches have really been popping up all over the place in this game lately… it’s not our fault ea has shoddy programming. but since i imagine they’ll patch it up soon enough, i’ll milk it for what i think it’s worth until then.
There’s a difference in taking advantage and abusing. I’m not saying don’t take advantage. I’m saying don’t abuse it. To me, abusing it is just as back as what hackers do.
where does one draw the line? and who decides where that line is? *shrugs*
The line is your own to draw. You’ve got to decide when enough is enough. Of course there are lines I think everyone would agree is enough….like the reader that commented they have 100,000 donuts from farming. I think that’s MORE than enough because you won’t spend those in an entire year even if you rushed every single questline/task and purchased every single premium item. I know because I don’t spend that much in donuts a year for this site rushing everything.
my issue with that reader’s comment wasn’t that they farmed 100k donuts, it was that they felt the need to brag about it on here. more power to them if they wanna spend all their time farming thousands of KEMs, but i think we’re all better served by remaining quiet about that kind of “feat”, themselves included.
the line IS our own to draw, and that is why i feel like it’s not my place to judge where others draw theirs, even if the one i’ve drawn might be further back. i’m a firm believer in that old adage about glass houses, regardless of whether my house is smaller than theirs.
Ok tape.
If there’s a glitch which gives you extra “whatever”, I use it to to maximum. It’s the shoddy “programming”, which makes this possible. It got 600 bonuts during one of the events were Eddy kept being gooed. Every 2,000 taps gave met 6 bonuts. My tapping fingers still hurt whenever I think about it 😀
OK. Break it up you two. I’m sorry (again) that I opened my big mouth. A healthy debate is a good thing, but I think we should all refrain from finger wagging. I think we can all agree that there is a clear difference between cheating, and taking advantage of the game as it has been programmed by EA. If EA doesn’t like the way something is working, then it’s within their rights to change or fix it. In the mean time- play as you deem ethically correct.
OK?
Good luck and happy tapping. 🙂
lol no one’s finger wagging. I didn’t accuse tape of anything and said it’s up to him to draw his own line. But I think we can ALL agree that 100,000 donuts is slightly obsessive, no?
It’s like the people that go to the grocery store and buy all the milk and bread before a storm, just because. How much milk and bread can you possibly go through before it expires? How many donuts can you possibly burn through?
You’re right, Alissa. 100k doughnuts is absurd. In fact- I question the means by which that many doughnuts could be acquired. I’m highly skeptical that anyone would be able to farm that many doughnuts without some sort of “cheat” involved. I hardly ever carry a balance of more than 300 doughnuts at any given time, and it would take me more than 10 years (given my current % multiplier) to generate 100k doughnuts by farming (and my % multiplier is pretty good).
I like this particular glitch, and I’ve taken advantage. No- I’m not playing the game 24/7. I play the game roughly every four hours when possible. I’m retired. So I have a bit more time on my hands. Generally I’ve been taking advantage of the glitch while I’m watching TV in the morning after breakfast, and in the evening after dinner. And no- I don’t sit around and watch TV all day. I hike, and swim, and go cycling, and walk our dog- plus taking care of all of the other aspects of life.
I’m revealing too much about myself. Sigh. When am I going to learn not to blab so much?
Good luck, and happy tapping.
Lol blabbing is what makes this community fun. 😉
Come on everyone group hug 🤗🤗
While the glitch is helpful, I also find it rather tedious, and I’m trying to figure out what would be a good cushion so I can stop. I can’t imagine using this to run through the whole prize track. But then, maybe I’m not addicted enough. 😉
I think all would be fine if Act two PolyVac battle was the same as it was in Act one. (I’m getting less robots thus less payout)
😃Happy to see the Maggie Tapping Gif in use again 😃👆👆👆
I thought of you tot 🙂
It’s actually similar amount of robots..but less payout. 40 pays less in Act 2 than it did in Act 1. How do I know this? Screenshots lol
I’m also noticing the lack of robots spawning during the polyvac battle. In act one I always had at least 43 robots, more on some, and 51-53 if I used a flash. The two times I’ve managed to play polyvac today, once it gave me 38 and this last time I only got 31. How does EA expect us to be able to get all the prizes on the track when they make it this difficult?
I actually noticed the payout seems to be the same…I can’t remember the exact amount, but it was around 35 robots, and I got 150 event currency. I got for the first time over 40, and I believe the payout was 158 or there-abouts.
I’m going to start recording my taps/payouts…like I said I’d do yesterday 🙂
Does anyone think EA will bring back the Gil Deal/Rocker Maggie deal back for those that missed her? I’m thinking about getting Ladybot (mainly to help with the event. I’d prefer “Maggie”) but I definitely couldn’t afford to get both so I’m wondering if if I should hold out a day or two? Has a Gil Deal ever come back a 2nd time?
(I already have Grimes to help with the event but I’m not much of a regular tapper and need all the help i can get)
Yeah, I swear I had another day or two (at least until today) to get Maggie, but lost her from my store yesterday 🙁 Was saving up for her and thought I had enough time.
There is a post on the ea forum with glitch in regards to friend visits and a certain premium item. You can receive a pm about this there but I finished the whole prize track yesterday and got president Lisa.
Would you pm me please?
Please do tell! PLEASE!!!!!!
Same! I got her before my class today and unlocked all the craft levels/items this morning. This glitch was great timing, the college semester has just started and i can focus on actually doing homework lol I can just lightly tap the rest of the event and not be stressed.
I don’t now if taking advantage of the glitch is exactly abusing it…. to each his own. Everyone enjoys the game differently and that’s perfectly okay.
I must have this info, where can I get it from?
Try the EA Forum, people are PM the info to eachother
Wow! Thank you so much for this post! I was trying to figure out just how close I was going to be this morning as I can only log in 4x/day at most, but you answered all my questions! I just squeaked by on the last act, and this one’s going to be about the same. But I did get Frink and Lady Bot, so I feel a little better about getting all the act 2 prizes…. Thanks again!
