It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread! So, let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

The end of the Corporate sale and Episode tie-in is near…both coming to an end Tuesday morning. Enjoying the downtime? Excited for what’s next?

Odd thought of the day (or in this case, night). If the Simpsons visit the countryside, and someone calls them a Yellow Belly, is that really an insult? Since they do, in fact, have yellow bellies. Reason I thought of this, earlier a buddy of mine and I were talking about the last part of the Back to the Future trilogy, the movie we try to forget. (neither one of us really cares for that installment, kinda like Episode 1 for most Star Wars Fans) Anyway, Biff Tannen (or one of his relatives, probably also named Biff) refers to Marty Jr, as Yellah, which throughout the whole series, is Marty’s trigger word. Just wondering if it would work the same on a Simpson 😀
I’m gonna say what I said last year before the Halloween event…don’t set your expectations so high that you’re bound to end up disappointed. I’m kinda glad last year’s Halloween was at least somewhat of a disappointment, because I think now at least period know that that’s possible. Last year the fever pitch of anticipation was so high that I knew most people would end up disappointed. This year folks seem a little more measured in their excitement, but I still worry that people are thinking, “well, last year was just a fluke – this year’s gonna be SUPER AWESOME!!!”
So be excited that the Halloween event is coming, by all means, but just realize that it may not be everything you dream of (although I really hope it is! 🙂 ).
Last year I was excited (but not frothing at the mouth) for the Halloween event and it turned out to be a HUGE let down. I was so disappointed last year that I’m feeling disappointment for this years and the event hasn’t even hit yet! So no, my expectations aren’t high, if this years Halloween turns out to *just* be even slightly better then lasts year then I will be a happy camper.
Even though I was disappointed that my kids weren’t trick or treating in costume around town, I was really happy with all the new and returning loot I got last year: Witch Marge and Devil Flanders, Kodos, spooky sheds, houses and trees, building skins, House of Evil, campfire setting, pup tents, wailing walls, cemetery, jack o lanterns and balloons and my favorite-the spooky hedges and all the elements for my Chthulu theme park. I’m with Ms. Nor, I Want All the Stuffs!
Time to get some balloons out of storage 😆

Is it possible the Halloween update isn’t coming this week? I don’t see a teaser on EA facebook. I hope I’m wrong tho 🙁
They don’t always release teasers…also they’ve been known to release them at night as well (it’s only 2pm where EA is located)

Just a heads up to all my neighbors, I’m on vacation in DC so that’s why my tapping has decreased quite a bit. See ya when the Halloween event drops! 😁

For some stupid reason, twice this weekend (Friday night and Sunday night), I’ve accidentally sent everyone on 24 hour tasks instead of 1 hour tasks at the Unemployment Office. Fortunately, nothing is really going on in the game, so I don’t need my characters, but it’s really annoying. I realized both time right after I did it, but other than storing as many buildings as I can, or rushing for over 1800 donuts (which I don’t even have and would be totally stupid to do), there’s nothing to do but wait.
I don’t know why I keep doing this, but it’s pretty annoying. I only have 3 characters free right now, 2 who don’t have a 24 hour task, and one that had a daily quest, so he didn’t do it anyway.
I was happy to go from $120 million in SH to $750 million until they cut the event short

Halloween is TOMORROWWWWWWWWWW I’m so excited!!!!!! 🎃🎃🎃🎃 currently I only have 9 donuts and not much in game cash to use the collider. trying to stay on top of 4 hour tasks today to maximize what I can. I’m going to need to buy more land and possibly spend some real money on donuts (I was prepared for this) because I want ALL OF THE STUFFS. give it to me.

Alissa!! Bunny!! Or anyone who can help!! LOL I’ve hit the item cap!! I was ***finally*** finishing up designing SH and when I tried to place a fence it told me I couldn’t place any more items 😭
I know people suggest storing decos which I’m going to spend today doing (sigh) but am I in danger of getting locked out and rolled back like Bunny did?? I can’t remeber if this is the reason she got locked out.
I honestly can’t think of anything I want to store though 🙁 I’m also pretty good at not hiding anything behind buildings so I don’t really have anything that’s ‘unseen’ that I could store ☹️ Plus they JUST raised the item cap so I don’t see them doing that again anytime soon. Figures this happens right before the holiday events too. 😒
No you’re fine. Bunny had a problem because she purchased THOUSANDS of Stonecutter walls and placed them all in her town at once…and didn’t store any.

try sticking some flowers, bushes, trees away…usually you have WAY more of those than you think.

Something that might help is if you have a row of flowers use the ‘double’ flower instead of two singles – same effect but counts as 1 item instead of 2. Same if you can replace small hedges with large hedges, ‘double’ shrub instead of small one etc. Might not always be possible but may help…

Yes onstage trick, if you can’t see it (hidden by a building), store it. This messes with my OCD lol, because I know that a fence doesn’t fully connect, but it looks like it does.
Hi Neighbor! Your town design is so great, sorry you hit the cap! Alissa’s tips are good, and another thing you can try is removing some pieces of fence and strategically using what you already have out to hide the empty space. Check for fences that may partially be behind buildings, you can either shift the building slightly or throw a tree there. Good luck!
Thanks, Kitty!! I was literally JUST finishing up the back row of SH where I put all my mansions when it hit. I’ll try looking for fencing too. I love my fencing though lol, I feel like it really finishes out an area. Hopefully they’ll lift the cap when the Halloween update starts, I doubt it though 😛
I know what you mean! I love fences too! that sounds so silly, ha ha! I haven’t hit the cap yet but when I got my first notice I decided to see what kind of illusions I could set up and ended up storing a ton of fences. it doesn’t feel unfinished at all! maybe we’ll get a cool Halloween fence to design with tomorrow!

Anyone else had an update that has taken away the 4x payout for SH. I thought it was running untill 4th Oct
Down here in Ozzyland, arguably the least successful VFL/AFL team in history, the Western Bulldogs, just won the premiership the other day! Probably one of the best results to a Grand Final from a neutral perspective in recent history.
Has anyone else noticed that the Springfield Heights bonus event has finished early? I thought it was supposed to continue until 4th Oct…
Has anyone else’s Springfield heights stopped giving you 4x rewards. I thought it ran through to the 4th but mine stopped earlier this evening?

My town stopped giving out 4x SH rewards just now. That’s not supposed to happen yet, is it?
My 4X resource payout stopped today. Any way to get it back?
I’m at 995.8M real-estate value after a weekend of SH grinding… I’m on the fence between Plastic Surgery Center and Bookaccino’s. I know the time to decide is dwindling! Bookaccino’s is tempting because of the $4M real-estate value, but Plastic Surgery Center has character tasks for Paris Texas when she arrives. Dilemma! Also, I wish the characters needed for SH crafting did not overlap with those who do recycling tasks.
Replying to my own comment to say I reached $1B this morning and got the haven. Woo-hoo! The SIB guides helped me decide, and I picked up the Plastic Surgery Center. I do still appear to be getting 4x payout, so I hope that issue was resolved.
Well, apparently I’m not the only one… FYI, post on the message board to get EA to fix the 4x rewards leaving early 😀

My Springfield heights stopped paying out 4 times. 30 minutes ago it was 4 and now it’s down to 1. Anyone else have this happen? Thought I had onze more day.
WTH….. Trying to get the last of my SH buildings done before the 4th.
All the tasks have reverted back to their old payouts (no 4x bonus).
(Yea, yea it’s 3:20am, but I need to keep making “pills” to finish off leveling up (3) mansions)

SH 4xbonus ended too? It’s stopped giving additional consumables in my town. That’s 24hours early right?
More than a little annoyed that the Springfield Heights event has ended 24-hours early 🙁
