Around the World may be over, but the tourists are hanging around Springfield! Whether it’s by choice is a whole different story. Yes, that’s right EA’s finally fixed the bug and the tourists are back in our stores for premium purchase
Of course with that limited-time label it can be tempting to buy everything that looks awesome because it’ll be gone soon. But don’t sweat it! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add these three tourists to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this triple threat to tourism to your Springfield…
Characters: Tourists (Man, Woman & child)

Pros
-Three full characters for Springfield
-They have tasks that will put them in their various “outfits” from Around the World (France, Japan, Brazil)
-Great price for 3 characters
Cons
-I’m sure it will be fixed, but at the moment only the male and female tourist earn at a premium rate…the kid earns at the regular rate
-Not really canon characters.
Premium or Freemium:
Honestly, it’s hard not to like this bundle. 3 full characters for 60 donuts that’s a great deal. Assuming EA fixes the kid’s task payout it’ll be even better, 3 premium characters, a really great buy!
Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do. And I can tell you as a premium player, I’ve already grabbed them. Just remember this is limited time, and will be leaving our stores soon. Whatever you decide, So be sure to make your final decision before it’s gone from our games for good. (or for now..)

Just saw Duffman w/ Duff Brewery and Lady Duff skin for 190 donuts plus a 40 donut rebate in my game.
I just spent 100 donuts on the YMCA. While a good deal I wouldn’t have if I had known the Duff deal was coming. Looks like I’m gonna shell out a few more donuts to have Duffman in my town!! Cheers all around

It is a fantastic deal. Unfortunately with my Springfield missing so many iconic people I cannot justify spending Donuts on non-canon characters.
60 donuts for three premium paying characters? It’s – stEAl!!!
Grabbed them for my B game without a second thought. I started it just before Christmas so I don’t have a ton of characters yet and I find myself forever struggling for cash to buy things required to complete tasks, so 2 (hopefully 3) premium characters should help that some. The woman will probably always be in her Japan skin.

An update hit. These characters have 3 hours left on the last of their initial 3 part quest. Will have to wait and see if, indeed, EA has corrected the child.
In any case, 60 donuts for even a single character is great.
Just received an in-game update that removed the Rommelwood Academy Update. I bought both Leon and the tourists earlier today, and they have been removed as well.
Swear on my heart and hope to die, I paid for them with legit donuts. Anyone know what gives?
Contact EA – they should be able to resolve.
Try an uninstall/reinstall (but only if you have an Origin ID). If that doesn’t fix it, call EA.

I wouldn’t like all of that strain on the animation. Or they could give us an on/off switch like the Christmas Lights switch 😀

Even if the kid’s rate never changes, it’s still a great deal.
It is indeed a nice offer but since Duffman has gone temporarily from the store I suppose it will appear in St. Patrick’s day with an outfit or something like that.
I’m going to save some donuts and start to level up as quick as I can. 🙂

But I wonder how they decided to make these characters available, when, for the past several events, they haven’t even offered event characters as NPCs. I *so* wanted some of the characters from the winter event!
Before they released these, I was guessing that they weren’t releasing any event characters that they might want to reuse, but these generic “tourists” (when not in costume) seem eminently reusable, so now I have no clue.

I bought them but I’m not really happy about it. I don’t really like spending donuts on items/characters that have never appeared on the show. It’s just a good deal which is why I did it.
Just think of them as “Extras”, like when credits roll & it has a list… man with shovel= Joe Shmo, lady walking dog= Plain Jane, etc. 😂😂😂
I have played the roll of John Michelin, a radiological technician. My female colleague played the roll of Kate Dunlop. In Holland the extra’s get the surname of product, when they wear a name tag.
We both were visible in the leader of the serie 😀

I was going to pass because I didn’t want to spend 60 donuts for some NPC’s. However 60 donuts for 3 premium characters!?!? That’s awfully hard to pass up if you have the sprinkles. 😛

is the tourist with the yellow and green hat in there? or is it just the other 3 they show in the picture?
You get the 3 base tourists and they change appearance based on what job you give them. So if you give the guy the brazil job he will be in that yellow and green hat.

That is probably the skin they show during the Brazil job.
I believe your one tourist turns into the guy with the yellow and green hat if you send him on the task to go to Brazil. I Hope that makes sense. So you won’t see him unless you send your male tourist to Brazil, which is a 12 hour task.
To complete their quest, you have to send all three tourists to each area in sequence…France first(4 hrs), then Japan(8 hrs), and finally Brazil(12hrs). Their personas adapt to the area where they are sent. I assume you are talking about the Brazil lady tourist…she unlocks when you are done sending all three tourists to Brazil. After Brazil, all 9 personas (3 tourists for each of the 3 areas) are unlocked.

The yellow and green hat is the man with the speedo…sorry…the same rule applies, tho…when the Brazil job is completed, he is unlocked.
You don’t have to send all three on the same job. I was able to send each tourist to a different place.

So happy EA did this!! I loved the costumes during the event & now I get to choose either my favorite costume for each character, or the task time I need. Happy happy joy joy 😀😀

I love your write ups on whether to buy or not. I’m a Freemium player, and donuts are very hard to come by. It takes me a few months to save up enough to buy a building or character. I was waiting for your recommendation on the tourists before pulling the trigger as I only have 100 donuts right now. So yes.. Off to buy the tourists! Thank you! I do have to say I love this game, I’ve been playing since nearly the beginning. But it’s by far more enjoyable with TSTO Addicts. You are my “go to” authority on tapping!

In my town the woman will always be a geisha, the tall guy will always be shaking his belly and the short guy will always be eating his baguette. It works out perfect, as those are my favorite ones from each Act.
Had to get when I found out they were full characters – 3 full characters for 60 donuts?! Seriously, this is about as good as it gets!
If you don’t pick this up seek medical attention immediately. The only thing I wish is that they had a visual task in their normal skins.
I’m curious if EA always planned to release these or they were a last minute addition because of community suggestions. The launch issues lend weight to the latter.
They were in the files from the start of destination Springfield. They launched when the event was removed but there were bugs in the programming so they pulled then out. And now they’re back.
So yea, this was planned all along
There are two WWII tanks in the store, so not all the bugs are hammered out. I suppose that one of the tanks should be accompanied by Sgt. Skinner.
I am really surprised EA is offering such a great deal. I was expecting them to be NPCs – but actual premium characters for 20 donuts each? buy buy buy!
