So when you first get into Springfield today you’ll see Gil waving his arms around..like he’s doing a bad rendition of “Shake it Off”…just begging you to tap on him…

At which point you’ll see the latest offer…
If you refuse…
Gil: No deal? You’ll regret that when your gas and electric bill goes to the spam folder…..you don’t pay it on time and they cut off your heat and you’re taking sink baths at the public library. How did this become about me?

Donut Price: 195 Donuts…(or 65 Donuts Each)

Pros:

-Despite Having a joint 4hr task then each also have an individual 4hr task, so you should be able to assign them on tasks via Office of Unemployment
-As far as Gil’s Gimmicks go…this one is decently priced for THREE full characters (works out to 65 donuts each. For comparison sake, Bumblebee Man is 65 donuts, Dr. Nick is 90 & Jimbo is 120…yes there are less expensive ones, like Squeaky voiced teen who is 30 donuts. But the nerds are about average priced)
Cons:
-One of their 2 visual tasks is a joint task for all 3 characters
-No Springfield University with this offer

Premium:
Buy this trio. It’s a good price, as far as Gil goes, for three full characters in Springfield. Three characters whom many of you have been requesting. Not only that, but they earn “super premium” at the HQ (80 intel/4hrs EACH…an additional 240 intel/4hrs when you send all 3). The biggest downside is Springfield University didn’t come with the bundle, but beyond that it a good value!
Freemium:
As far as Gil’s offers go…this one is good. It’s fairly priced for 3 characters. And the three characters offer just about everything you’d look for in a premium character during an event: Reasonably priced, Voiced, Funny Visual tasks & helps to earn event currency.
Freemium players, if you have the donuts I’d take this offer.
Of course in the end it’s completely your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do. And I can tell you, as a premium player, I’ve already picked this trio up! Just remember, they are limited-time. So whatever you decide be sure to make your final decision before they leave our games on the 14th.

Why release this trio with the Secret Agent Event? They’re not spies…
Best I can figure is, they’re nerds and they hack. This event has a lot of hacking….makes sense to connect the two in that way.
But then again…what do I know. I’m the one who thought Rommelwood to a Spy event was a nice connection/transition….

That’s why I never cared for the Stonecutter’s event Most of the skins are worthless and I was so excited to Get No 1 but really don’t care about him as he’s always inside.

Why should they only have indoor tasks? I have 1 character with no outdoor tasks & I wish I hadn’t wasted the donuts. I should have checked here for the tasks before buying. Oh well 😊

The longest visual task is four hours? I was pretty well sold until I got to that detail. Now I have to think about it.

Exactly, especially with a task that I would love to park outside the mapple store or java server and keep there. I mean, I’ve kept four hour tasks going (the wiccans, for example, are always casting a spell in a ring of mushrooms) but I prefer longer tasks. Setting a little scene like that takes some effort, and I have to reset it immediately so I don’t lose it. The less often I have to do that, the happier I am.
Thanks, I needed so confirmation that this was actually 3 different characters and not just 3 people grouped into 1 character. I thought it would be 3 characters but it just didn’t make any sense to me that Gil would have a deal that was actually fairly prices.
Mulled it for a few hours, basically until this thread confirmed 3 playable characters, then buy because nnnnnneeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrdddss!! (Of which I am one!)
I have never bought anything Gil was selling and at this point I quickly tap through the woe is me text. This time however where I was tapping just happened to be where the buy button was. A prompt “whoops” email to EA claimed all donut sales were final and offered me 15 for the “bad luck” but after further review I am quite pleased with this accidental purchase and received a through lesson on patience.
Not really the place for this but, did anyone else get a Tapped Out text today that said to follow the moles to the underground layer and unlock the underground layer in the prize track? This is not word for word but just the jist of it.

It was sent by EA. After posting this I did a Google search and found out that what the text is referencing is something that comes along in Act 2. I guess someone at EA jumped the gun and sent the wrong text out for this Act. As a side note, I love your designs Ebron.

Pick up Lurleen. You’ll get a premium character and a building. Plus you’ll get some doughnuts back. I bought Hank Scorpio due to the 40 doughnut return. Keep in mind the event goes on for awhile so ther will be more characters pop up in the store. Don the road this Gil Deal will return at a discount.
Nerds! Earn way more for the event if you need them for that. Lurleen will always be available (of course not discounted). No telling when these guys will be seen again.

Get the 3 guys, Lurleen only earns regular event currency for this event, while all 3 of them earn premium so they will get you through the prize track faster, and beyond that you get 3 individual characters with full tasks while Lurleen is only 1 character.
Grab the nerds…they are available for a limited time. Lurleen is always in the store. Just my two cents. 🙂

Definitely these guys. 3 characters at super premium event currency is better than 1 and a building. I do realise you’ve have 80 donuts left or so if you went with Lurleen… if Lurleen was 65 donuts, then would you be willing to pay 55 for a building? or two more full premium characters. only you can decide but I’d go with the nerds, they are iconic!

I have worked with few female nerds myself. Becoming a radiological technician requires a lot of nerdness.
Got the trio earlier in the middle of their story line. Thinking EA has brought these guy’s in early all ready for the university mini event that may come right after this one. Maybe EA is trying to connect events with each new character’s, giving a flawless feel to a new way of gaming they’re trying to introduce.

I said something similar the other day, although not as eloquently. I don’t feel that getting characters or things like the nerds in this case, precludes a university event. It could just be setting it up. It would be great if they were than organized (but sorry, Alissa…Rommelwood did not set up spies! LOL :-))

I was in the same boat. Even a slight blowing of my nose could trigger a nosebleed. The solution from my physician was simple: “Don’t blow your nose, just sniffle!!!” And it helped, no more nosebleeds. The downside is people looking at you in disgust and shooting: ” BLOW YOUR NOSE!!!”

JK- Ditto. Alissa’s graphics were more than enough for me. I usually opt for 4 or 8 hrs so I’m unlikely to use those 1hr tasks (phew!)😂

I like using the 1 hr tasks when I have no commitments for the day. The payout is great compared to even the 2 hr ones & it builds my cash reserves 😂
My Gil Deal for the University Nerds disappeared. Gil popped up, I didn’t have enough donuts, so I went to get some more. Came back and Gil was gone. I went to neighbors and returned, hard started my device, and uninstalled and reinstalled the game. No Luck. I submitted a ticket with EA. I was called almost immediately upon clicking submit. The person on the phone was extremely friendly. But, he told me the character Gil comes and goes. If he is not back by tomorrow, submit another help ticket. This is exactly how I missed out on Rockstar Maggie and the Hyperstadium. They just disappeared from my game before I could purchase. I have been on a donut purchase freeze in protest. But, I broke down for the Nerds! I hope I have a resolution tomorrow. Come back Gil, come back.
I hope I don’t offend, but every time I see comments like this, I have to wonder, is it really gone? Gil will disappear from your town, but if you go into your store and make sure you’re not in any one category by default (click the upper left arrow in the store if that’s the case). You should see the Gil deal as its own type of category (not to be confused with the actual category screen because he doesn’t show in that). I hope that made sense. I suppose some people might really have a glitch, but I think many people just don’t know how to find the deal after they initially say no.
I have the same problem and it really is gone. It doesn’t show up on the main store page where it should be, and it is not in any other category. I checked them all. Twice. I also restarted the game, my device and relogged (each multiple times). Nothing helped.
I will give the game another few hours and if the deal hasn’t reapperead i will contact EA. Hopefully they will be able to help.
On another note i found old threads back from 2013 where people had exactly this issue. How can it be that they haven’t fixed this really annoying bug that by now probably effected hundreds if not thousends of players? Not to mention they probably missed out on people buying donut sales.

Hopefully down the road an event (major or minor) will bring a university questline. Also disappointed that the individual visual tasks are only an hour. Still bought them. I already had all available characters earning event currency and was at a good point so didn’t need them for that.

Yeah, it’s such a rich and classic story and these are some of the most requested characters that it seems kind of anticlimactic to have them just tossed in as a side buy rather than a whole event around Homer going to college.

I am super happy to finally have these characters, but I thought they could have built an event around Springfield University. There are many characters they could have added. We even have Nixon. “That pig had powerful friends.” Speaking of pigs we all ready have Ploppers, so another pig would be great.
I’ve been wanting these characters added for awhile now, so this was an instant purchase for me.
Love the deal. Bought them right away. This is the kind of deal for which you save your doughnuts. Couldn’t be happier with the purchase.

But it is too late. A mushroom cloud is all that’s left on the TV, with “THE END” written in red superimposed on it. The children in Krusty’s audience cheer wildly. “Wow!” exclaims Krusty, “They’ll never let us show that again, not in a million years!” Bart and Lisa are aghast.
They are a good offer, but i will pass for now. Judging by the character list and a spoiler site, there will be at least three more premium characters and one premium building during this event, which i am considering. Therefore my donut budget is tight. However I have 10 days to decide and some of the other offers may not turn out how i expect them to be, so maybe the nerds will join my town after all.
Pro sides for me: they are classic side characters, have a good price and the four hour visual task is the one I am currently using the most.

Depends on how much money / XP your town generates. If it is a lot, the multiplier is best. If you have a small town with less than 150 characters, buy the characters.
Bumping up your bonus percentage is always a good idea. It will increase the amount of game cash of each item and character.
I bought the nerds for being a nerd myself. I discovered that they give 80 cheap intelligence after the buy.

Gil is actually offering a deal. Sweet. However this about wiped out my doughnut supply. I quit KEM farming because I thought I was at the point I could get by on rat traps when necessary. Nope not there yet. Back to KEM it is before they drop something else on us.
