Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

Will finish up the prize parade today and then take a break…a week of just neighbor visits and designing, before the next bout of “tappyitis”🤢 starts.
Love the game, but hate 40 day (and night) events (dont’ think Noah was crazy about them either⛈…pretty bad when the game brings to mind a world-wide cataclysm…).
I truly believe it’s time to totally overhaul the event system and ditch these massive, over-worked and under-inspired events in favor of shorter, smarter, funnier ones. I agree with Patric that the drawing and animations have been top-notch, but the dialogue and conceptualizing are getting more and more tired with each event. Why is EA stuck in this 40 day rut? Two weeks is plenty of time to develope a plot and keep everyone’s interest in a story line. I believe the mantra in show business is “always leave them wanting more”…after 40 days, the only thing I want is to “make it stop!”. If you were in burlesque, you would have gotten the hook on about day 21.
Please, EA…shorter would be easier for you and easier on us. It seems like each generation has a shorter and shorter attention span, and yet you seem stuck in this 3hr documentary mode of programming😫. We have trouble focusing on a single thing for 4 minutes…40 days??? Forgetaboutit😎
These Addicts Live segments are great. Thank you Alissa, Joe & Patric! I love Patric’s idea for ramping up sounds and special effects via his recording studio equipment! Joe, yes! Addicts Live needs theme music!
I couldn’t disagree with anything any of you said about the Spy event, but I most strongly agree with Alissa’s point of view. The format as it continues to play out, ad infinitum, is played out. And the crafting thing really needs to be retooled.
In the past the now craftable Weiner walls might have been available for some minimal donut purchase, so it’s nice that anyone short on donuts or saving them for characters/buildings (whether limited time or not) doesn’t have to pass up a decoration as useful as walls simply because they cost a couple of donuts each. But in the past the plain walls would have been available for ingame cash. Why did they choose to do away with that?! More event related or general items costing in game cash are needed. Period.
I keep thinking that EA should follow the show episodes more as the format for long events. If they are wedded to the 3 part format, which has worked well in THOT, they could do an event with 3 separate but thematically connected separate stories; why doesn’t EA try that with an event? There are plenty of thematically connected show episodes.
Here are some examples:
They could devote a 3 part event thematically about music based on any 3 of these classics – Homer’s Barbershop Quartet, Round Springfield, A Streetcar Named Marge, Moaning Lisa, Homerpalooza. Or even Gone Abie Gone.
Or for a politically themed event there are the GHW Bush vs Gerald Ford feud, Bart To The Future, and Mr Lisa Goes To Washington episodes.
They could be very diverse in terms of characters – a sometimes rainbow-wigged GHWB full character, a Washington costume for Ralph for e.g., Rita La Fleur, Bleeding Gums Murphy, and many more.
There are great decorations and buildings from any of those episodes that aren’t in the game yet. For buildings and decorations there are The Jazz Hole, Springfield Bridge, a billboard promoting Sax On The Beach, Fallen Diva Apartments, Spiro’s, among many others.
If each segment was 10 days versus 2 weeks we’d been done with all three acts in a month. EA can do more to make the event goals achievable for all players in a 10 day format.
And as Patric pointed out, a lot of these TSTO characters/npcs were on episodes for a matter of seconds, so why do we still not have Sarah Wiggum, Wendell Borton, or any of the barflies…? OR BLEEDING GUMS MURPHY and his band?!! AND The Jazz Hole!

Very pleased with the ongoing event, especially after changing my perspective on its length.
Two thngs i noticed has made tapping easier for me. Most probably know about them:
You can use the unemployment-center to speed up tasks for the last remaining minutes for zero donuts. This works espcially well, when you have used the center to start all the tasks at the same time, so all tasks end around the same time. For example, the 4 hour tasks can be sped up for free once only about 23 min. are left. During the typical event 4 hour cycles or KEM farming, this allows you to collect and reset the “working” characters, before you do the event related tasks or farm your KEM.
My phone is a bit older and mass collecting from all finished character tasks and the buildings slows my phone down due to the many XP and $ sign animations, so collecting takes a while. This can be sped up by zooming in to the max, so not a lot of graphics have to be rendered. YMMV.

I’ve been a very busy bee in my real life this past week so I have only been getting to play about twice daily. I’m lucky that I have around ten players to collect from for the event so I will still finish this last section early. I still need to get the castle skin but other than that I’m ready for the event to be over. Not my favorite event so far but not bad. I’ve taken a break from farming and I’m just stockpiling money for when I get more time. Hope you’re all having a great weekend 🙂
Happy Sunday all ! Sunny here in Edmonton Alberta for a change! After a fairly mild winter we had a nasty snowy April…bring on May! It’s my oldest daughters’ 38th birthday today (I’m old…ok…lol) so dinner celebrations are in order! Oilers are playing their third game tonight with the Ducks, wwe event that some family members watch. I culled neighbors in my three towns some of whom hadn’t played in a year! This event is ok but I will be happy when it’s over! Cheers!

When I get annoyed about my game the things I grumble about are the inconsistencies. There are tons of characters who attend church, why do I have to chase down each one? The other one is go to school. Why no “collection button” on the church and on the school like so many other multi character locations? Now that I’m mid-grumble, why no task to shop the pier? I spent too much time and too many donuts making it look cool for it to be a collection point for characters awaiting a task. Finally ( I know how glad you are to see that), where is a task to spend the day at Krustyland? I must remind you (and myself sometimes) that I love this game. I have played it daily for YEARS and there is nothing else I do with my phone that even compares to that. It is so close to perfect that these slight imperfections blaze glaringly in my weekly gaming experience. Wow, I feel better having gotten this off my chest. Thanks for that.
I think the real question is why is attend church 12 hours? Would anyone really go to church if they had to attend for 12 hours? Is it a Catholic mass wedding every time?
Probably the same reason Dame Terwilliger is drinking tea @ the Truffle for 24 hours…she must reaaaaallly like tea😁.

Loving the fact I’m 3 days ahead of the calendar. Useful when work is busy and limits the amount of time you can tap. May Day Bank holiday weekend in the U.K. so can enjoy myself. Already been to the pub today, knowing that I can still lie in tomorrow with no work. There’s time for marking books tomorrow.

Another mystery box, another disappointment 😔
So, the for the past three mystery prizes I’ve gotten the pond, the itchy and scratchy billboard, or the bomb shelter. I feel like if we’re going to get a prize it should be a premium item; nothing extravagant but something that costs like 5 doughnuts.
I remember when I first started playing, I would be so exited for the mystery prize because I would get a character or a building, and I thought it was a nice reward for being such a dedicated player. I guess those days are gone 😕
The billboard is 1% bonus.
The mystery box only has a limited selection of items in it. Several of them are unique, so once you get one of the unique items, they aren’t replaced in the rotation by anything else.
This means your item rotation is limited to donuts (10 or 30), Lard Lad, Itchy-Scratchy billboard (1% bonus), Chan 6 Van (2% bonus), minnow pond, KK Stand, Chalmer’s _onda and the bomb shelter.
I must give it a try
If you can save up 36 donuts and do 6 boxes in a row, I think you will find that at least one of them will be a 10 donut or 30 donut rebate, and you will make at least 2% bonus off the lot. That is the worst result I’ve gotten out of 15 sets of 6 boxes…most times I do much better. You can sell the ponds and shelters back, also…not a lot of money, but they won’t clutter up your inventory. Good luck🙂
Woke up this morning feeling lucky, and goofy. I bought 24 Mystery Boxes (24 x 6 = 144 donuts) and spent a net of ~50.
Got several 10 donuts a couple of 30, 3 news vans, 4 Itchy bill boards, a Lard Lad (#6 went into,storage) and a bunch of ponds, Klav food carts, ondas, and bomb shelters
So, 50 donuts increased my multiplier 10% – 5 donuts per 1%
Not too bad a ROI (return on investment)
Woo-hoo! That’s a great return😁…the best results do seem to come from multiple buys…I always get 10 or 30 donuts back when I buy a set of 6 boxes or more…

Also time for a few extra donuts. I think I have crafted most of what I want. Event has been easy.

I’ve decided to stop stressing on reaching the final prize on the track. If it happens, cool. If not, oh well. I’ve been saving up schematics and will craft the things I want. If there’s downtime after this event I think I’ll spend time reorganizing my Springfield. I play on an iPad. Is this something that can be accomplished easier on the computer ? I’ve never played on the PC. Is it even possible ? I’d check, but with the constant thunderstorms in the area, the computer has been unplugged. Too many power surges and the resulting losses of PC to risk. Hope all have a lovely day/evening !
I use Bluestacks to run the game on my PC. I don’t tend to use it for “playing” but I probably design 95% of the time on the PC. Easier to see what I’m doing on a 32″ monitor, and easier to select and move everything using a mouse.
If I had the game on the computer, I don’t think I would have a life!

Last night I had to re-sign into my game, and this morning noticed that I had zero donuts (I should have about 190.)

Is anybody else having their game crash EVERY TIME they use the agent tapping mini game? It’s letting me play, but as soon as it ends and rewards me for playing, my game crashes. When I reopen the game, the mini game timer has reset, but my Intel total doesn’t reflect that I played. It even have me the 4th prize track item this morning before it crashed, but when I went back in, i didn’t have enough Intel to reach the 4th prize yet because it didn’t acknowledge the 500 Intel the mini game has awarded me. This was happening to me back in the first phase too, but it’s gotten far worse now.
I’ve contacted EA and tried the usual fixes, but I’m curious if anybody else is experiencing this too. I’m playing on an Android phone and everything’s up to date. I checked the what the glitch? page, but there’s nothing about this event on there.

Yes, I close the game and relaunch it before playing the mini game. It is a memory killer that slows my game to a crawl.
It´s happening the same to me, not every time I play the minigame, but quite frequently. It´s quite frustrating, I´ve lost lots of currency. Although I managed to win all the prices, I guess I could have got a couple of rounds of bonuts or more if I hadn´t lost that currency in acts 1 and 2. Still happening in act 3 anyway.
It was a really tough week! I lost two people that I really liked. The first one I posted about on last weeks open thread. The second one broke me in a way I didn’t think was possible. Probably had a lot to do with the horror of it and my own battle against suicide. I won’t say anything more about it because her husband did play the game and may read this blog. If he does I want to say to RL how sad I am for his loss, she was a beautiful girl and now an even more beautiful angel! Next time I see you, I will give you my blue shirted Bart.

I’m wondering — how long do your neighbors have to be idle before deleting them? I have a few that haven’t signed in from one to six weeks time, and I’m wanting to delete a few.
It’s a personal decision, really.
About 4-5 days into an event, I usually check anyone who hasn’t earned currency (I hate when EA doesn’t show your neighbors’ currency totals for this reason! 😁); if they haven’t logged in for a week (sometimes two, depending upon my mood), I usually ‘hide’ them. At the end of the event, I check the hidden people, and if they still haven’t logged in, I delete them.
I don’t generally keep people who have been absent from the game more than 4 weeks.
Find your own rhythm & what works for you & your “neighborhood”! 😊 I have had people who didn’t play for 1-2 weeks come back to the game full-time (I’m assuming for reasons of illness, vacation, finals, who knows?), but I think I’ve only seen 1 player leave for a month and then come back.
It’s sad sometimes; I seemed to lose a number of long-term, daily players around December 2016/Jan2016 2017. Whether because they got new devices as holiday gifts that gave them access to time-wasters they found more interesting, or because they were upset by the Winter 16/17 event, I’ll never know. 😕
Sometimes that can backfire, though, too.
I had 2 neighborinos who have been playing for at least as many years as i had, and noticed they were not getting prizes/currency for Around the World event, but held off kicking them to the curb
Soon after, both were right back into the game
Not sure if they were “boycotting” as I’ve seen others here threaten to do to various events, had a long-term phone malfunction (as happened to a friend IRL who plays TSTO) or what, but was glad I chose to wait. I like their towns, LOL.
I usually give neighbors around 100 days, but then, I’ve never been good about hitting up all my neighbors daily – if that’s important to you, then I could see being more vigilant
True, true. I too have some neighbors that I cut more slack, for various reasons. 😊
I think I’ve had event boycotters (or a LOT of neighbors on Kindle! *lol*), because they don’t have any event currency BUT they’ve still logged into their game recently, which is why I check the Last Login first before hiding them.
Generally, I don’t really recheck my ‘hidden’ neighbors until the start of the next event, so they usually have the length of the event, some downtime, the length of a mini-event, and some more downtime to login again before I delete. 😄
I know I may lose neighbors who go a long while without logging in when they come back, but in my personal experience, that’s very uncommon. I also have no problem accepting newbies into my neighborhood (it seems many longtime/high level players do??), so perhaps that has something to do with my personal track record. 😉
Any system is good – you will find people who delete after less than a week, people who wait a year, and everything in between. 😁
OP, don’t feel guilty about deleting inactive neighbors! If they come back again, just add them back to your neighborhood! 😊
When I first started I had a problem with my game and took EA 6 weeks to resolve, basically they had to reset my game, so I lost 2 months of activity altogether. I usually give people a year if there is no interactive event. EA resets the towns at the beginning of events so you can still earn for a while. Then I hide them til the next event. If I get a friend request then I start looking for people to eliminate.
Hey ChrisShut. I have a simple rule when it comes down to neighbors. If they’re not active in the last 5-6 days I remove them. You’re losing out on XP, $ and if possible doughnuts if you’ve reached level 20 Friendship. This site has lots of daily dedicated tappers who are looking for neighbor’s all the time. Go to the page to add neighbor’s. I do it all the time.
I feel like this site needs to have 3 different types of “add me” posts, based on the comments i’ve seen recently – regular, anti-graffiti, and “I will cut you in a heartbeat”

Thanks to a public holiday tomorrow (Workers’ Day), today has been a second Saturday which means I have done nothing but recharge all day! 😊😊😊 It has been necessary as I had a mild tummy bug last week so the extra day to recover has been fab. Will do some pottering in the garden tomorrow but with autumn here the amount of maintenance needed is decreasing – time to catch up! We did have 5mm of rain last Sunday which helps the lawn a little bit doesn’t really change anything. We are forecast for some rain around Tuesday evening so my rain dance continues…
Finally crafted everything so now it will just be duplicates of the things I like. Hope everyone else is making progress as well! Started moving my ‘wilderness’ area to the outskirts of SF using the last of the new land in order to make space for all the new stuff. Although I’m usually quite good at moving it smoothly, today it didn’t go so well! Made a bit of a hash of it and it’s taken much longer than it should 😁 but think I’m getting there…

I got the castle skin today. It looks good.
I’m going to craft the second HQ with the schematics prize and then that’s me done for crafting.
I still keep tapping on the parachute target for a laugh. 😛
I agree! I wasn’t sure what the Castle HQ skin would look like, but it’s very nice & not overly spy-themed. I know TSTO has released a number of castles into the game, but I personally don’t have any, so it’s a lovely addition to my Springfield! I decided to pick up the Auxillary HQ as well, so I can have the castle in a, uh, castle-y area, but also still create a spy-themed area.
The parachute guy & the guy standing in the wall (Wiener Wall, I believe?) amuse me the most! 😀

I have only been playing since December of last year, so I wondered if long-time players could provide some insight on craftables. Historically, are there items that are more likely to be “awarded” a bonus percentage after the fact? Or is there no rhyme or reason as to what EA selects to have a bonus in the future? I got the castle today, so I’m trying to be thoughtful about what other items I craft (if any).
Also, I’m excited to share that my first experience with purchasing mystery boxes (as seen from posts by ebron, Charles and others) was a great success! I spent 60 donuts total, received six bomb shelters, two news vans (increasing my bonus by 4%), as well as 40 donuts back. Yeah!!
Finally, non-TSTO related, I’ll be enjoying a long, leisurely walk today in Belle Isle with my dog and sister.

My take on craftables is…if it’s a unique item, that’s the one most likely to payout rent after the event…but even then, no guarantee. For XP…your guess is as good as mine. One thing you can be pretty sure of, you won’t see an XP bonus on any current craftables any time soon… probably only when they bring something back next year as a premium item in another event (that seems to be the pattern).
Glad you had such success with the Mystery Boxes…they are the unsung heroes of the XP bonus hunter. Here’s to news vans and billboards…and especially to donut rebates! 👍😁
