Just a reminder that the Egyptian Era of the Time Travel Event Ends TOMORROW June 23rd at 0800 GMT (4am ET).
Once the Egyptian Era is over you will no longer be able to earn Egyptian Prizes for free. So get everything you can before it’s all gone! (but remember keep earning papyri you haven’t unlocked all of the prizes because the closer you get to unlocking the next prize the lower the donut cost would be should you need to purchase it when the next Era starts…)
Crafting will STILL be available in the next Era. As will the Specimen you’ve accumulated.

P.S Good tips before next Era starts…save Daily Challenges that earn you event, save shovels & save your neighbor visits if you’ve earned all of the Egyptian prizes, so you can get a jump start when the next Era starts.
Done the best ever event ever since I started, way back then, got all prizes days ago, 190,+ shovels collected roll on 9am GMT, or is that 8am +1 GMT??????, Springfield looks more like yul brynner westworld, lol
Every one in the comments is complaining about not finishaving this act. The reason for this is how they lower the currency collecton (tapped time travelers and shovels) and also the prices for each prize goes up each act thas why theyes give another premium characters to get shovels so it evens out
I’m about a day behind in the event. I’ve been playing the game as often as I can. This has made me very discouraged about continuing to play the event or future events.
The Egyptian walls disappeared the other day and I am so annoyed as l should have purchased more earlier. Really destroyed my design as I don’t have enough.😡
So…Daily Tasks. If I finished one (by accident, didn’t see it was for sending characters to collect shovels until I saw “daily tasks completed!”), will it stay there until I claim it?
The reward was 1100 papyri, and I’m too far from getting another round of bonuts. So I was hoping to leave it until act 3 starts. But I seem to remember something happening during another event where it changed the reward to dollars…
If no one knows, guess I’ll be the guinea pig!

It stays until you claim it, I had all three daily challanges ready to claim when we went from act 1 and got 3×1100 to start act 2 with 🙂 (hoping It hasn’t changed cause i’ll try this again tomorow for act 3)

I have three days of 1100 papyri saved up. Wondering if i should chance it in hopes of one of the 2200’s.
I’m leaning towards good enough, lets not get greedy right now. On the other hand, I hate to miss out on a daily task.

This is the first event that I did not finish the first prize track (moes cavern), and am close but not sure if I will finish the second prize track. All other events I usually am getting 6-7 bonut rounds in act 1, and 4-5 bonut rounds in act 2. I usually finish act 3 on the last day or 1 day before. We shall see if I can finish. Love this site, by the way.
I think I finished yesterday. Now I’m just hoarding shovels and daily challenges. Some fun stuff for my desert area this act.

Honestly surprised so many people are struggling with this event. I got Caveman Moe with a day to spare, and Slavedriver WIllie with a couple of days to spare. Didn’t get many daily tasks with event currency this era, but logged in 2-3 times a day and did my neighbour visits. The only premium character I have to help is Booberella.
I’m getting less rounds of bonuts than usual (only 1 round per era), but getting all the prizes hasn’t really been an issue for me.
Yeah, I got Booberella to. (actually excited to, she had been on my list for a while. I play freemium, so it has taken a while.) I think that makes all the difference.
The effect is cumulative. If you got her early, she earned more shovels – which upgraded our excavation pit sooner, which gave more rewards – which upgraded the pit sooner, which gave more rewards sooner and made it easier to tap on the time travelers wondering around town.
As it stands right now, I am one upgrade from a fully upgraded Panini Press.
The other thing I think helped people is understanding how to efficiently use shovels. I wonder how many of the people who are close or may not make it had an efficient strategy for excavating.
(BTW, if you had non-Cavegirl Booberella, did she earn shovels? Hmm, maybe I should go find that post.)
I just got the pyramid and task master (I think that’s what he’s called) willie this morning. Barely made it because my 5 month old and I have been sick since it started. Honestly didn’t think I’d make it. However, I bought donuts to use on the event and there was NOTHING this era that I wanted that we didn’t get in the quest or crafting. So guess that’s just saving up.

15 hours to go. I’m 4600 Papyri from Bonuts. There’s an 1100 Papyri award awaiting me if I use 12 shovels. About how many Papyri will I get for 12 shovels?
Depends on your Panini Level…at least 372 at most 550ish
Don’t waste your shovels or daily challenge… You’ll be better off saving them for the next phase. 3 doughnuts aren’t worth it.
I decided two days ago not to try to charge hard in an attempt to finish and get one round of bonuts in, so I think I’m timing it right to finish the final prize a few hours before it ends. Finished leveling up the panini press yesterday and was trying to save shovels but I burned a few this morning to get to within 2,000 papyri of the final prize, so neighbor visits tonight should wrap it up. I didn’t play religiously four times a day, but fairly often, and I’m glad I bought the gravedigger near the end of the last act. Seemed to help.
For people still having trouble… I have been playing as a fully freemium player for this event and finished the prize track last night. It’s definitely doable. I even lost a day…. I had heat stroke- I literally vomited until I passed out, and couldn’t play until the next day 😆 Drink your water, folks! 😊
Barely got everything from Act 1, and definitely won’t get the last price from Act 2. Saving shovels instead for tomorrow. This event appears to be the hardest in awhile. Usually I get everything no problem, not this time.
I missed the final prize in Act 1 and I’m not going to get it in Act 2. And I play a lot. This is absurd.
I have no idea what to do with the decoration from this Egyptian Era…love the event though 😁😁
I might get a round of bonuts, wanted to save up for the next round but I forget and already spent my shovels today -__- Ah well, looking forward to the Pirates and fourth of July update, finally getting Abraham “King of Mars” Lincoln, if he isn’t in those mysterie boxes.
i got willie at 11:00pm last night, phew. i can’t imagine i’ll be able to get enough for a round of bonuts but i can at least store some shovels.
I finished the first one no problem! I think I had two days left after. But now I’m behind. Ugh! Fingers crossed I should get the last prize today!
I started saving shovels as soon as I got the sphinx… I knew there was no way I would get the last main prize (Willie’s skin and pyramid), and based on how far behind I am at this point I was right not to waste my time/stress on trying to get it. I’m glad I wasn’t more excited about these prizes or this would have been even more of a disappointing event 🙁

Once again, it looks like I will be about 4000-5000 shovels short to earning the final prize. This event seems to have upped the ante for that final prize in each act, even if I play 4-5 times a day. In addition, there seems to be random payouts to each excavation, and not increasing payouts, as expected when I level up the panini press. Discouraging to say the least, especially when the lower prizes are microscopic, like the Darwin fish and homer lizard. Hope EA rethinks this approach for the next event, because if I am forced to use donuts in order to complete each act, I may not bother to play at all.

Hint: you can save more than 199 shovels if you choose the task from the characters menu not from the hardware store.

Have there daily challenges with papryi as prizes, one challenge is complete but not claimed and the other two are not complete yet. I have no need for the papryi (other than for bonuts and likley wouldn’t complete the bonut round before the eara ends). Does anyone know if these challenges will carry over to the pirate era or if they will simply be lost when the eara changes? Your help will be appreciated, thanks.
They will carry over and be paid in the new currency…you should get another new challenge when you complete them tomorrow.

Last time they changed from fossils to papyri, so I’m expecting the same thing to happen this time. I’ll get a nice 5100 headstart, and with over 400 shovels saved my plan is to get enough bonut rounds to make up for wasting them on Maybe Marge!!

I used to have a small Snow Bear statue on my work desk (standing in the snow and holding a shovel)
and embossed on it was the phrase:

I’m not going to finish this time.. so disappointing. Played 3-4 times a day, did all my friend visits and I’m still 8000 away.
In this event, 4 times a day seems to be the minimum with 30 neighbor visits. Hopefully you will get close enough to pick up Willie with minimal donuts.
Shows the one the need to visit more often, even if only to get new shovels. I started with a new game and have only 5 characters, some of which were sent on tasks. And I still completed everything (have 90170). One more visit per day = 5*104 = 520 per day for getting shovels alone. Then add the extra for digging and tapping. For an extra 5 or 10 minutes a day anyone can complete the prize tasks.
Add 47 for using the shovel during digging, 235 per visit or 755 total. Over 14 days, that is 10,570 plus 10 per each tapped visitor.
Finding it so frustrating how they’ve made it pretty hard to actually complete each level. I am on game level 154, have been playing every day, at least 2 times a day but sometimes more and am still 10,000 off getting Willie…. It’s really putting me off playing because I don’t want to waste donuts just finishing the tasks…
I don’t think two times a day is frequent enough to complete any event (probably even if you have some premium event stuff). For this event, you need four times a day, minimum, unless you got a head start from the previous act and have lots of premium event stuff, in which case three times a day *might* be doable (I say that only because I did four times a day and had the premium characters and finished several days early, so maybe I could have gotten by with the times a day for at least some days?).
I barely finished Egypt in time. Think I’ll only get one round of bonuts in. Finished prehistoric with lots of time to spare…

You need 30 neighbor visits every day to hit the amount you need.
Do you visit 30 neighbors a day? Have you been using one of the “efficient” digging patterns? Have you been crafting ferns to upgrade your panini press as much as you can? Skill of these make a big difference, too.
Hope maybe you’ll end up making it to the end today, somehow. If not, and you want the last prize, check it at the last possible moment…it’s often much cheaper to speed the questline with donuts than to send donuts to buy the final item outright, later.
There are a couple of other factors at play to get you to the 86900 by the end of the act. Less doable at 4x per day but doable still.
Here is a summary of what a freemium player would look at per 4 hour cycle:

By just looking at the Sum Day above there is a gap in the day cycle of 862 currency. Noting that this was a ‘perfect’ scenario for 12 days where you were always at 4 cylces, always got all the 80 time travelers in each cycle and always visited the 30 friends EVERYDAY and there was still a gap. Some of this can be filled in if you only aimed to take daily tasks that gave you event currency (which I seemed to be getting on a daily basis but this is merely anecdotal) bringing you to a slightly higher total.
I hope this would help shed some light on the situation.
Oh, I also missed the 5000 for completing the quest line. Bringing the gap to 5340 instead.

Act 2 went better than the first, but it is still close – the only reason I could finish in my freemium B-game is more shovels: I bought the Gravedigger. And I still only finished today. It’s exhausting, i don’t think I will go on playing with the freemium game.
And just a heads up from my premium game: you can stock more than 199 shovels, if you send the “shovelers” individually and don’t go through the Mom&Pop Store. I am at about 300 shovels now…
I stopped using shovels after I got the Temple a few days ago, so I will probably start the third stage with 200 shovels. I have saved two daily tasks, but keep the third slot open for tomorrow’s daily task. Also I will do today’s neighbor visits in the late afternnoon with only one visit to start the “clock”, so I can visit neighbors twice tomorrow.
Frankly, I am happy to get a head start, so I can soon finish the last stage of this imo flawed and underwhelming event.
Dang,.. I finished the prehistoric prizes with nearly 2 days to spare before that portion ended… Now with Egypt, I’m 14,000 papyrus away from the pyramid, still, and Egypt ends in 21 hours. 🙁
