Just a reminder that the Time Travel Event Ends TOMORROW July 5th.
This means that you will want to make that final push to gather up all the things you want from the Event before it goes with the Event.
As far as what is going to happen AFTER the Event… well, we can’t know… until it is over. Lol. Until then all we can do is speculate. So, patience. We all have to verify what happens after together.
Now as far as to what is going with the Event, here is a brief rundown…
- Questlines linked directly to the progression of the Event will go. Like the Main Questlines that pulled you through all 3 Acts.
- However, the questlines linked directly the the prizes and Premium Characters you’ve won will remain. (so Sexy Pirate, Blackbeard etc)
- The event removal will require an app store update to fully remove it from your game. So don’t panic when the timer runs down and the event isn’t out of your game… It will require an app store update to remove everything.
I know some of you still try to push that last few minutes of collection as far as you can. If you turn OFF the auto update feature in your App Market, you may give yourself an extra day or so… just know that ANY time after the 5th is borrowed time and you are doing so at YOUR OWN RISK. EA can force the update at anytime after the 5th and make you update. So use any extra time wisely and get what you need before you have to remove the Event completely.
Also, we’ve seen with a few recent events EA shuts off the ability to earn one item or another. So don’t bank on being able to get that extra time. Try to earn as many eyepatches as you can until the event ends.
And don’t forget to craft! Use em (the Specimen) or lose em!
So tap those last few agents and relax and wait to see what EA has next in store for us.
Additional note:
Some of you are asking what you should craft with all of your extra crafting currency. There’s no magic item to craft. There’s no way of knowing what EA might make premium in the future, with a bonus %. Best advice I can give you is craft at least one of everything. If there’s something you think you could use in a particular design craft a bunch of them and stick them in storage.
If you feel like you’ve crafted everything you want, then it’s ok to not use all of your crafting currency. Just because you have it doesn’t mean you need to spend it.

A few others asked me about which gives the most XP when placed in Springfield…it appears as if each item (you can craft multiples of) gives you 100xp when placed in Springfield. So there’s no item that gives you more of an advantage.
Also, the premium items WILL BE LEAVING THE STORES TOMORROW FOR GOOD. (or until EA brings them back at some point in the future) So if you want something get it before it’s gone. Because these items WILL leave the store once the timer runs out. (with or without an app store update)
Finally, the 4th of July Items will ALSO be leaving stores tomorrow. So be sure to pick up any of those items (including the Mystery Box) before time runs out!

Received the final prize track item two days ago or so. About 1000 away from getting the last craftable, the mermaid; which is the only one I really wanted so I’m excited 🙂 have a great fourth everyone who celebrates and a wonderful Tuesday to everyone else
That was also the only one I was excited about but I was 2k away yesterday evening and I forgot they usually give an extra day and spent it on the masthead since I didn’t want to waste my currency. Kicking myself today 🙁

Crafting and placing items don’t generate xp in my town… tried first one (prehistoric item plant) and the grog barrel (from the pirate era).

Received the final track prize today. Finished the excavation site prizes a couple days ago. Did all the crafting prizes, last one, the mermaid petting zoo made yesterday.
Nice event, I just wish EA would spice it up some more with more quests/tasks to do during the event. The story lines have always been short, just wish they were longer.
I got all the main prizes. But for some reason I don’t have enough to craft. This is the first time that I was not able to craft everything.
Though the craftables and prices were categorized ‘M’ for ‘meh’ I think my town profits visually from these items.
The prehistoric ferns for example – the tiny ones crafted in abundance for tachyons – give a nice accent in parks, gardens or even wilderness.
The pirate cannon – good at Rommelwood’s, together with the pirate’s stuff a new section at squidport.
For the eqyptian pillars … no real use, but Springsonian has an egypt exhibition now. And an arab sheik resides on S-H-Promenade 😉
The ‘buyables’ (velvet rope for example) … buy them, store them, maybe in 2 years you‘ll find a place for these.
I‘m really satisfied with this event even with no ‘big price’.

I like used how you the bridge in the sea/dock area…fun!
I especially like the Tiki Bar pergola made from the Big T trees and the enclosure around the outdoor kitchen to make a larger space…very creative 👍😁(will probably “borrow” both ideas)😊.

Most of the prizes were useless clutter. I put them all in some free land and it looks like someone sneezed into a box full ‘o Lego’s. I also didn’t like how hard it was to get all prizes for those who don’t spend Donuts. They weren’t this aggressively pushing for money in previous events.
It’s a game, it’s supposed to be fun. I haven’t really enjoyed this last event… Secret Agents was great and felt it added a lot to my game. Just don’t feel the benefit from all the effort with this last one, just too hard. I did finish all the Acts but crafting hasn’t been anywhere near as rewarding as usual, and I know many have been unable to complete the Acts. I really hope this isn’t a sign of things to come.
On the positive, Dr Nick has finally appeared in my Vault and it’s generated 3 new questlines to progress 😊
Thanks for the heads up. I’ve been awaiting Dr. Nick. Even though the offer is good for another 6 days, I bought it straight away.
I enjoyed this event (loved the archaeology part) though it did feel like it petered out when the pirates hit. Am I sad to see this event go…. well, with these long events I’m never sad because they’re sooo long and before these types of events finish I’m totally ready for something new. Once again I did get all the prizes, still could have used more crafting material. The crafting material I did get more this event then in the past, though that could be because there wasn’t as much as I wanted. I did find the crafting cost on many of the items during this event to be outrageous. Don’t know what will be next, just in suspense to find out!
Anyone know what’s up with EA atm ? The Vault should’ve been updatet 6 hours ago and the last minute Items (Booberella, Gravedigger Willie) were announced but never hit the storw again. The event section of the store is very small, too, T-Tree is missing for example ..
The event itself was quite nice. Nothing special but not so bad at all. Had higher expectations for Dinosaurs …. Best thing was getting Blackbeard + Ghostship, I love this thing. Bonuts farming was very hard this time, I “only” got 4-5 rounds .. During spy event it was twice the amount.
Stuff has been appearing and disappearing from the store randomly throughout the event. Missed the opportunity to stock up on a few things. Was hoping EA would bring everything back for a day or two at the end, but guess not this time 🙁
Hm yeah That’s right, but I recieved a Push message a few days ago saying something like: “Last chance to time travel. Grab Pharao Skinner and Booberella before they’re gone forever.”
They normally do this and even announced it, but nothing yet. That’s very strange.
At least the vault was updatet and I got the french waiter for 35 Donuts 😃

After just managing to get all the prizes for Acts one and two with hours to spare, I’m still over 10,000 eye patches away from the Pirate with only 18 hours to go. With real life commitments I have 4 maybe 5 more chances with shovels and the dig site. Somehow I don’t think it’s going to be quite enough. I missed a whole day over the weekend when I was out with no internet access and that seems to have made the difference between finishing Act 3 and not.
Not sure if I’m going to “donut through” the final prize as, while I have enjoyed playing the event, the majority of the prizes for all 3 acts have been distinctly underwhelming and will probably go into storage once it’s all finished. I think I’ll wait and see if it’s still possible to earn eye patches after the event officially ends and if it is then I should just make it.
Switch off the automatically updates of your apps. You will get 1or 2 extra days until EA forces you de update TSTO.
Well the end of the event has come and gone, and the Pirate Ship is still available as a prize provided I can earn the 5000 eye patches still required before EA forces me to update. With a bit of luck I’ll finish some time today, although having no internet access yesterday afternoon and evening hasn’t made things any easier.
BTW I don’t have Dr Nick in my vault, and he’s certainly not already in my town. What’s up with that?
When the items appear in The Vault seems to be random for each player.
As I understand it, by the end of the summer, all items will have been offered to every player, just in a different order.

Honestly, this event was…..eh. Probably one of my least favorites to be honest. Which is sad considering we’ve had some great events this year. ( Secret Agents and Destination Springfield). By the way I’m still awaiting a sequel to the first Destination. So many opportunities for them. Australia better be in it because then we could have items from Bart vs. Australia and recognizable landmarks. (Sydney Opera House and Ayers Rock). They could go either way for the other two. India, United Kingdom, etc. Anyway I hope everyone has a great day and enjoy the 4th with quality time with your family😁

I think EA hit the sweet spot of not too challenging yet not too easy. I’m a freemium player who played on average 4 times a day except for 2 30 hour breaks. (Travel) I’ll get the last prize in a few hours. On the downside the prizes were very underwhelming to me. Don’t forget now is an easy time to see which neighbors have stopped playing and to clear them out. (only lost 5 this event)

Shelbyville as an event would be great. Only EA already offer iconic Shelbyvillian items when you buy bundles of donuts for real 💰
I spent an insane amount of donuts between this event and the 4th of July sub-event. Bought Boobarella and the cave, the Blackbeard combo, a couple of icebergs and a ton of T-shaped trees. all of the 4th of July mystery boxes, and all but 3 mystery boxes for the other 2. All of this had benefited my income and bonus % tremendously though, so no regrets. I’m gonna need a few weeks to farm back up a healthy stockpile of donuts and cash though.
Say, did anyone bother with Cecil’s aspirational tasks? I got the Springfield Dam, but honestly, $40 million for a bunch of garden decorations is an absolute pass for me, as it can buy me somewhere around 200 donuts.
Got the damn and really like it. The remainder I will put on the slow burn.
The T-trees were a really good buy for building up %-bonus, so I got some of those.
Most of my bonuts were spent on 4th July Mystery Box which was really good.
Time to farm those bonuts ready for the next event.
I like the garden and I have “Between a Rock & A Hard Place” too. The latter one has a very funny animation (not telling who or what, that would be a spoiler)
I’m sure I can guess what the animation is, since it was in the movie. Those prizes are pretty underwhelming considering you need to spend over $100 million on them in total. I’m not expecting for them to give like 10% bonus or something but surely 2% and a small amount of income isn’t too much to ask. At least Monty Moneybags was a pretty worthwhile unlock that was worth grinding for compared to this stuff.
I have close to $50 million stockpiled now which I could use to get the gardens at least, but I’d rather save them for emergency donuts.
Very underwhelming event, even if the NPCs were really funny.
I am glad I got 2 presidents and Kumiko :), the Nixon stories are hilarious.
I hope once the event removal is underway, EA would clean up the game code. There’s a lot of bloat, and the game is running progressively worse with each update. It’s quite mind-boggling that TSTO is running worse than some 3D games! Try storing Norbert, and pulling out from storage, for example. The game freezes for several seconds before his plane shows up. Boy, does the game slow down when you clear a densely populated area, and my phone is just little over a year old this month.
Since the Secret Agents update, the game is also becoming pretty unreliable in connecting. Even with perfect mobile reception, I’d get disconnected every 5 minutes. It’s gotten to the point where I can get disconnected even when accessing from my home wifi connection. Looking at my phone’s data usage stats, it seems the game isn’t even trying to connect. Perhaps a semi-offline mode ought to be implemented since the game files are already on device, and technically the online connection is just to sync your account progression with EA’s servers.
I’d also like for some changes be made to the interface, namely:
– Allow Unemployment office to automatically clear joint tasks as well.
– At the same time characters with joint tasks should automatically be excluded from a mass task assignment so you can make the decision yourself. For example, since Sexy Pirate needs Marge for his 8-hour task, hitting the 8 hour task should NOT send Marge into her task. Ideally, everyone should be updated to have their own indoor 1, 4, 8, 12 and 24 hour tasks so that joint tasks are purely optional (Fatov sure could use his own 1-hour task).
– Make it so that touching Norbert’s plane as it’s flying around during his 4-hour task doesn’t send you back to his biplane. It’s honestly annoying as heck.
I play on my iPad 2 and it is really laggy at times. Surprised your newer phone also has issues. Suggests its the network access rather than the processor power. The big problem I have is it crashes when I try to bulk clear a house farm or when my character tasks complete. It’s fine if I wait for all the $/XP rewards to clear before tapping the next one so it obviously can’t cope with hundreds of items on screen at once.
To be honest I haven’t had connection problems either on wifi or 3G, that seems to have been OK recently (was really bad last year after one the updates).
Do as I did. Put some Air in your iPad 2 and TSTO runs smoothly again😜
Or remove all the apps from your iPad 2 and TSTO will run much better.
The connectivity problems have improved somewhat, but back during the Secret Agents event it was absolutely maddening. The game would keep disconnecting every few minutes, regardless of where I’m using mobile data or a very reliable wifi connection.
I hardly game on my phone, and I only have a few apps, nor is TSTO using more RAM than the phone has, but clearing out my town every morning takes like 10-15 minutes because of the amount of stuttering that happens. I also have an older smartphone which I used to start the game with 3 years back, and it’s practically unplayable with it now.
Norbert`s plane is driving me nuts as well. That is not necessary. I hope EA will correct that.
Boy, I hate that plane. Especially if you send him on his 4-hour task. You try to tap some building, but just that moment, his plane streaks through and hijacks you to a completely different part of the screen. It’s driving me mad…
The news helicopter does the same, as every other flying object does.
Do what I do, store his bit of airport and then put it back and send him on his 24 hour task. 🙂
I have no connection problems with any of my devices (except when Comcast goes down), so I think that one is on your end, not EA’s. But I do agree with your comment that every charter should have standalone tasks for each time (and more times should be available via the unemployment office, too).
As for Norbert’s plane, I agree that it can often be annoying, but I’ve also learned to use it to my advantage…i need to send the angry superintendent (forget his name) on a flight for his 4-hour task (because he didn’t have one by himself), so, sometimes, to get to the airport quickly, I’ll hitch a ride to the airport with Norbert.

A hard close once a day clears the cache and helps the game run smoother. I turn off (power down) my pad at night and start up (reboot) in the morning. If I am doing a lot on my game (moving alot of stuff around or designing), I sometimes hard close and re-open when I’m done, just to clear the cache. It make a huge difference in how smooth the game runs, and I rarely get dumped now.
Time Traveling indeed, especially if tomorrow is “June 5th”. 😎

I’m just disappointed they didn’t bring back ALL of the items for a last-minute purchase. There wasn’t a timer warning on most of them, so I didn’t always snap up the ones I wanted in time
Not to mention, they even sent out a notification to remind us to snatch up our last minute items, like Pharaoh Skinner & Cavegirl Boobarella before the event ends…but then never put them in the store!
I also swear that I bought the Pirate Prison, but I can’t find it anywhere…did it leave the store well before the event ended, and I just missed buying it, or is it lost somewhere…??
It was still there as I was still trying to decide whether to buy the prison minutes before the end. It disappeared as soon as the timer finished though, which is weird as they usually keep them there with a “leaving soon” or similar message. I definitely would’ve bought some Phase 1 & 2 items as I passed on them to keep my doughnuts for future items. Ah well, they’ll show up sometime in the future!

OK so I have a little over 10k specimens remaining. I haven’t yet crafted the homer lizard or a camel. Would anyone recommend crafting either of these? I’ve read them to be quite disappointing. Wondering if I’m better to stock up on some more plantation etc for future use instead. Hmmm, decisions!
I thought the camel was decent as far as decorations go although very overpriced. The Homer lizard is a tiny waste.

I’d go with the Homer Lizard since he is unique and the camel isn’t (you can craft more than one), but honestly it’s your preference.
I like the camel better. It is more visinle. Others may like Homer lizard, but I find it hard to see. Homer lizard roams. Camel more of a decoration that does not do much. Try to see them in towns you visit.
Homer Lizard is tiny (1×1) so I would go for the Camel

Glad to see this event go. Probably the major event I enjoyed the least since I started playing.
I am happy about Blackbeard and all the presidents though. My donuts count is very close to zero right now and I am feeling a bit burned out regarding TSTO, so maybe it is time to take another break.
