I should have both of those covered in the next day or so (I will break down ALL of the details on the Dragon Gil is offering), but right now I want to focus on the returning stuff that’s leaving our games soon. Fall has arrived and there’s a haze over our Springfield’s, that can only mean one thing….it’s Halloween in our pocket-sized towns! This year EA’s thrown a little magic into the mix, with an Angelica Button theme invading our towns. With this magical event hitting Springfield it’s only natural that we’d come across a magical case full of mystery and wonder (or just a bunch of returning digital content)…
This is a premium box full of your chance to get those limited-time premium character/building/decorations with a Magical/Halloween flair to them. By now we should all be familiar with how Mystery Boxes work, so let’s jump to the breakdown of what’s inside…
First, going to note…this is one of TWO Mystery Boxes we will see in Springfield for this event. This one will be around for the whole event, but another should be making an appearance closer to Halloween…
This Mystery Box is a great way to get items you may have missed out on from Previous Events at a low price…
And…if you already have everything in the box you won’t see the box in your store.
So for 65 donuts you can have your shot at a variety of Magical (really just Dark/Halloween) Themed premium characters, skins, decorations and buildings from the past, 65 Donuts is less than the initial value for each item (although some were original prizes, so those were free.)….

Now, while I know you can’t pick and choose which items you want from the box, I included the Should I Buy posts from the past so y’all can see how much they originally cost & what specifically each building/character does.
65 Donuts is a bargain for most of these items…except for items that were originally free, as getting it for free is the best deal…but still 65 donuts is a fair price for most of the items at least. So my thoughts are, if you have something in there you want…give it a try. You’ll likely get something worth it.

Thanks to Safi’s KEM farming post, I have been happily tapping away for the last 50 days and stocking up on those yummy sprinklies. Bought all but the rabbit and going to go read the SiB on him just in case I want him too. Was sooooo happy to get Homer Kong as I’ve been covering it for years and dint spend 250 donuts! Best thing, I’ve still got lots of donuts for Mystery Box, part II and whatever other whim…thank you fellow addicts for feeding my addiction and supporting it 😂😂
Lots of good content for a reasonable price. I opened two boxes and got the hellementary high school and Maude. Very pleased with Maude. And I have a Max Max wasteland with lots of fires, the school will be a perfect fit. Not gonna press my luck more.
(I know, it doesn’t work when you want it to and it is kinda like an urban myth. But both items were on the far left side on the list when I got them. I even cycled it around the second time for Maude. Crazy coincidence)
I got the Scary Pond and completed last year’s monster set!
I already have about half of these from when they were free or previous purchases, but I gave it a try. I got the Gypsy Fortune Teller Shop and Ghost Maude which is the one I wanted to I am pretty happy. Might try again for Scary Hill (I like the look) but waiting to see what else comes along.
I know it’s a game that has limited possibilities, but when you’ve been playing for a while, these mystery boxes just aren’t exciting. It’s similar to crafting this Halloween. I have the majority (if not all) the big craft items, just like I have all the things in the mystery box. Again, just a quick rant, because EA really should try and balance the giveaways with old stuff for those who couldn’t get it the first time and new stuff that’s extremely costly in terms of in-game donuts.
For me I have the Battle Dome, House on Scary Hill and the Zombie Sandwich in my mystery box. The Zombie Sandwich looks like the best one because of the zombie tasks and the other two can be used in a Halloween area of Springfield which I plan on doing when I get more items from this event. I guess the worst choices are the free prizes from last year and the year before.
I think I’d be tempted if I could choose but since I can’t it’s a pass.
I only had 4 prizes in my box. I got Bobs Victorian house which I didn’t want and then got king king homer which I did. All that’s left is the mutant bunny and the thunder dome. I wouldn’t mind the bunny but I don’t want to blow 60 donuts on the dome.
I know they are giving a nice discount on most of these items – but the randomness kills me – I know I would wind up with something I really didn’t want – like i did the 1st and last time I tried one of these!
I also had that with my first mistery box (got the stupid itchy and scratchy sign) then i got a gil deal with the exp colider that included a random box, it gave me Frink which was kind of “meh” at first, then i find out him voiced and giving me double smartphones which turned into “cool”.
What i meant is that maybe you get something you may not like, but it can become handy in the future
I got the Gypsy Fortune Teller Shop and Ghost Maude on my first purchase, but the message said “Collect,” which I did, instead of “Store” or “Place.” And now I can’t find it anywhere? Has that happened to anyone else?
Check the Main Inventory, she should be in there. I got her from the box today and couldn’t find her as well, until i looked in the main inventory. She wasn’t in the character’s category, with startled me a bit.
the fortune teller shop should be in your inventory… just open the buildings tab and place it in your town, and THEN ghost maude will show up in your inventory (in the characters tab), ready to be tapped on to also join your town.
@Nikopolino, @tapebelt, thank you. I looked EVERYWHERE for her–main inventory, all the sub-inventory tabs, I closed my game and opened my game and looked again, all to no avail. But then … after your responses, I thought, “OK, I’ll look again.” Opened my phone instead of my tablet, and VOILA! It still took me two tries to get both the ghost and the building out of storage, BUT I FINALLY DID! Thanks for giving me the courage/hope to try again. 😉 🙂
It happened to me. I emailed EA just to let them no but she ended showing up in my inventory the next day

The same thing happened too me. Contacted EA was refunded donuts because they couldn’t give me Ghost Maude combo, she is still not in my Magical Mystery Box so I have no way of getting her.😥. I hope you have better luck than me.
Awww, Sharon, that’s a bummer. I did end up getting her–I just had to look for her a bit harder (and wait–she didn’t show up for me right away). I’m sure EA will offer her again, and then you can get her! <3
I had passed on the drive-in and space mutant a couple times so was very happy to get that. The mutant rabbit too. I guess I have a thing for mutants. 😀
Did anyone else see Gil, say no and then his offer disappeared completely? I always like to read what Alissa says in the SIB before I decide. But I’m not seeing the Gil deal at all anymore.
If you’re in the event (or another) sub-section of the store, tap the back arrow top left to go back to the summary and it should appear like so…

The rabbit is the only thing that I see when I go to the box so does that mean it’s the only prize or is everyone’s box like that?

I dont always spend my donuts so easily but im so glad i did this time, i got pretty much everything i wanted ( scary dock, king homer, drive in theater and thegypsy fortune shop) i also got hellementary though but even so i had everything in my box except the castle. All in all best box ever!
Only 12 hours left on returning Equalia Castle and Burns Coffin/count Burns skin. Might be good for the newer people to do a SIB.

Ive always been a fan of the mystery box. I like the opportunity to get older content at a rebate. Mind you I have been burned by the mystery box in the past.
One good reason to at least give the box a shot…or buy all of them is that the next time they offer a box…there may be less items in there…and thus increasing the chance of getting something you want.
Tried my luck two times and got zombie sandwich and spooky dock (awesome). Would like the drive-in theater and house on scary hill but my odds are now 1/4 (2/8) so will probably wait until the second mystery box set arrives.
Luckily I had most of this stuff already.. especially all the free stuff. I really wanted the mutant rabbit.. 1/5 chance. I only opened twice. Not gonna spend that much more considering the rabbit will probably be the last box.
I would love to get the Drive-In with Space Mutant OR the Scary Dock with Blinky Monster, but I’m still afraid to spend even the 65 donuts cause I’m sure I’ll get something I really don’t want or need, like the Zombie Sandwich. Last time I did a mystery box was either Valentine’s day or Easter this year (can’t remember which), and I got Howard’s Flowers. It’s disappointing getting just buildings or NPCs.

I can’t resist these boxes. I wanted the mutant rabbit so opened a box, then another and another and ANOTHER. You know how it goes. Last one. I haven’t spent this much since that darn Christmas raccoon was in a box! 🍩
Happed to me with the christmas box (the very first one of these…), I just wanted Sophie… So it cured me from trying these again.

I really want the Zombie Sandwich, but, I have a 1 in 8 chance of getting it and there are a lot of hard pass items in the bunch (which is why I didn’t get them in the first place!). Sigh.

These mystery boxes have an additional benefit for me – they reaffirm why I don’t gamble in casinos. I always get the item I want pretty much as the last prize. There goes a lot of donuts!
Ah well, most of the stuff I got I will find a place for somewhere.
Not sure where to post this, but elements of my game have reset. I still have progress in the current event, but I have an issue with a couple of items. So far, I have noticed that my tap radius has decreased (and cannot remember how to adjust this), my Mars colony has been stripped of all decorations (and I do not recall how to get those back) and I even got a Pieman quest for Homer. There may be others that I have not yet noticed.
Anyone have similar issues and know of a fix.
Sounds like you might want to do the old, “Uninstall/Reinstall” routine. Make sure you have your proper EA login info…

Was apprehensive at first but tried it and got drive-in theatre, so very happy!
Tried my luck 2 times and got Drive-In Theater and Scary Dock, so really happy with those. Not sure if I should press my luck again, although I would really like King Homer’s Skyscraper.
