Why havent we had a thoh episode tie in? That could have saved EA and this dull update… 😕
What items in your life are not more expensive than a year ago? Groceries, gas, cable or utilities? I don’t think that prices going up should be a surprise to anybody, and game currency or characters is no exception.
I don’t think it will change EA in the future. When they need cash, they will offer an item for cash. But donut farming is no different than Springfield Heights converting coffees to statues. They made the monorail unlimited to increase giving donuts to the players.
What do you mean by coffee to statues? I think I’m missing something. Or do you mean you need coffee to create the little gold statues?
Is there anything in Springfield Heights that can be crafted to generate money or XP. Other than that glorious tennis court snafu.
Some buildings generate hidden XP. The Ocean Suites upgrades add 80% increase. The Mountain Lodge generates cash.

You talk about how doughnut farmers brag about having everything, but I can tell you as a doughnut farmer, that I don’t have everything because I refuse to spend money for the dollar offerings (like squeaky voice peasant).
I think bonus and bonut farmers are in the minority at the moment but it is quickly on the rise. You only need look at the EA forums to see that…
Q: Do you think that content is overly important if the event contains something cool and original with an ongoing theme that feels nice and unique 😊 (eg. Like ghosts in a previous Halloween)
I don’t think EA is going to switch to a 3rd currency. I think the dollar purchases (like squeaky voiced peasant) are a concession to the people who don’t want to doughnut farm, and would rather spend money.
Never been a big Halloween fan so I’m just waiting for Christmas 😊
I’m watching and sighing. If EA wants to get rid of farming all they have to do is put a cap on any given building (like KEM’s).
I had a friend who quit when Krustyland came because he thought they were going to make the tickets a new required and devious currency. Hasn’t played since.
Why is a third form of currency bad? Just like with donut purchases, you can buy an item or not…spend donuts or not. Just cuz it’s change, doesn’t make it bad. People don’t always buy premium characters now, even if they help with an event.
Once you get your % up to 2000+ you can generate enough donuts to buy new premium items with a small farm (24 KEMs) … so it is no longer a grind.
How do you get your % that high without spending donuts? It seems you have to spend donuts to get your % high so you can get donuts.
Yes, you spend a lot donuts. You buy MB (6 donuts) for average of <9 donuts per %. But the higher your % gets up, the more donuts per farm/period. At 2700%, it costs me only 4 KEMs to get the 3 donut box. So I only have to have a 24 KEM farm to generate more donuts than I need. If have over $100M cash, you might want use rat traps trucks to quickly up your %. Otherwise, just create a farm that is not so big that you consider it a grind.
Of course, the higher % the more cash you generate so you can buy all the land, road to riches…. you want.

I think everyone should play the game in the fashion that makes them happy as individuals (short of cheating).
You “buy” many items to complete quests.
But you can use your players to earn cash and donuts (monorail).
Me and my eight year old son do an annual zombie walk every October for charity. It’s to raise awareness of brain tumours (I know that sounds ridiculous but it’s true). 👻
There are around 100 or so of us and we collect for the cancer charity while I give out chocolate eyeballs to any kids watching 🎃
Last year I went as a dead bride and my son went as Michael Jackson from thriller. We learnt the dance moves too!
Zombies do seem like they could have brain impairments…

I stopped Trick or Treating in 9th grade. We moved and the houses were so far apart it was pointless.
My favorite memory is when I was 17. I had just gotten my driver’s license and drove my Mom’said car off an on ramp into a tree head on. My Mom put the wreck in the front yard, added a ghost driver and used it as the center piece of our Halloween display that year.
Halloween consists of celebrating the boy’s birthday (spawnofeval in TSTO), decorating the yard and taking the kids out Trick or Treating.
I’m sure this won’t make me very popular with some people, but I hate donut farmers. I 100% believe they are the biggest reason all premium characters are so expensive now. I wish EA had the guts to just end farming once and for all instead of punishing those of us who don’t too.
i don’t hate you for hating me, but I do believe you are 100% wrong. dead wrong, if you think more than a small fraction of people that play actually farm, and thus have some kind of overreaching influence on the decisions ea makes for this game. on the contrary, ea had the guts to reward longtime players with a way to more easily reap the benefits of a game they helped keep afloat all these years, and I applaud them for that. premium and/or limited time characters have always been expensive, but now there is a way to put that work in to earn it. or… if you’re not willing/able to do that, or splash the cash, just don’t get it. this is a freemium game with in-app purchases, nowhere does it say everyone has to be able to acquire everything for free……
If crafting must be a part of the game, I like to applaud EA for when they put a character or skin as one of the items. I already had Werewolf Flanders, but I thought it was really cool when we got Hugo and Charcoal Briquette that way. When you have 30 or more craftables, why not an NPC and a premium skin or regular playable character sprinkled throughout? Would make the craftable grind more interesting than working toward another bridge or fence.
Please don’t mention me by name when you talk about doughnut farming. 😉
As for this Halloween event…………..meh. Lather, rinse, repeat.
I think EA better step it up a notch or they’re going to start losing devoted players. The magic is gone.
On a side note- make that Sideshow You…….I won 5 doughnuts today at sideshow You. 🙂 It’s events like this that make me smile.
As for Halloween (the actual holiday), I’m less than indifferent. My wife and I tend to turn out all of the house lights and pretend we’re not home so no trick or treaters bother us. I know it sounds like we’re curmudgeons. Oh well. Halloween is for parents with small children and college kids at the dorm or frat party. For the rest of us it’s a pain in the ass.
Speaking of my wife and I………..we just got back from a two week trip to Europe. Lot’s of fun. Prague, Vienna and Budapest. I liked Vienna the best.

Stopped trick or treating after grade school. Best memories: popcorn balls, candy cigarettes, wax skeletons. Halloween now is buying a costume for our son and giving out candy. It’s more of a chore than a holiday.
I like TSTO and donut farming. I would hate to see it change.
I like the event and I like the characters and buildings and decorations. I think one of my favorite parts of the event is the beast enchanter prizes that you get from releasing the beasts.
However like a bunch of other people have said this does not really say Halloween to me it’s more of a harry potter themed event. I wish we had the ability to send kids trick or treating and in my opinion there should be ghosts and zombies and eerie Halloween music that says Halloween to me.
The crafting prizes are pretty lame to me also I feel like ea took the easy way out by using stuff from past events when meanwhile the show has been on for 29 seasons and I would think that have plenty to choose from since the show has been on for so many years.
