Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
Well, we’ve reached the end of the marathon and we can see the finish line in sight! The 2017 THOH/Magical Event ends tomorrow…Tuesday Nov. 14th…and I’m sure most of you (no matter your opinion of the event) are ready to see it go! Bring on what’s next!
But before we talk about what’s up ahead, let’s finish what’s in front of us first. Let’s quickly breakdown the tasks and questline for Lord Montymort…likely the final prize many of you are unlocking today (or did so this past weeked)…or in some cases the last prize many of you are debating on spending donuts to finish off before the event ends.
So away we go….
First up, the one and only Super Safi did a great job breaking down the final battle for Springfield, which is how you unlock Lord Montymort. So if at this point you’re still confused, check it out here.
So once you’ve completed the battle for Springfield and knocked out Lord Montymort, he’ll become a playable FULL character for your Springfield. (this is NOT a skin for Mr. Burns…) And you’ll see his character unlock message:
And for many of you, he will complete the Treehouse of Horror XXVIII Adults Character collection….
Once in your Springfield (and you complete the questline) he does come with his own side questline. Here’s a look at it now:

Now, I know some of you are wondering if it’s worth spending donuts to finish off the battle to unlock him in your Springfield. My standard answer is always, depends on how close you are to getting him. I think if it costs you <30 donuts it’s certainly worth it, but anything greater than 30 donuts doesn’t feel worth it in my book. It’s just a standard character, not premium…and he’s not exactly the most amazing character that ever arrived in Springfield. Which adds to the not worth more than 30 donuts debate.
But that’s my own 2 cents. The final decision is, obviously, up to you.
Oh and another note about extra time to get Montymort. No one knows what will happen the the event timer runs out in a few hours. You many get extra time, you may not. If you’re willing to take that risk, great. But if you really want him, don’t bank on getting extra time. Figure the event ends when the timer runs out.

As much as I love Harry Potter and anything nostalgic…this kind of let me down. I’ve already received all event items, but I miss when the holiday events weren’t act based. It was just fun quests and dialogue.

Just spend 14 sprinkles on the last few beast battles to get him. Glad he’s voiced, which makes it an overall reasonable buy for me. Especially with the Monorail Donuts we’re getting since this event started.

Unlocked him yesterday. My gosh, this was the most annoying task since playing the Easter Wheel of Fortune. 😉
I had the glitch and ended up spending donuts on Montymort. I figured less than 30 donuts was good for a full character.
Did not get last prize in act 2 and will not get Dracula , the only thing I wanted, fat fingers bought one of the stupid random donut prizes 6 donuts wasted for stupid burning school, so no chance I can waste on Dracula . It was by far the worst, most boring event in a game I have been plying since the first tap day thing with snakes. I hate to quit but getting just a bit of a grind and I do not want to have a random chance at a past item. Charge a few sprinkles more and give us what we want. No we get 20 of 4 different items that are useless and get warnings for too many items. I guess all good things must come to an end. No Monty mortgage Dracula or act2 final prize and I try hard to do the tasks but do not want to have to be on game all the time. Hope I am wrong and it gets better but I am not optimistic and it can all end with the flick of a server switch anyway.
It’s a bit of a shame that there is no slithers and montymort task , mainly the one where slithers eats him at the end of the thoh episode.
Despite getting Montymort a few days ago, I still haven’t managed to complete even one bought round, which is very unusual! I even had some premium monsters… I don’t really care about not getting the bonuts round, but it just seems odd!
didn’t even bother trying. The target of 15,000 was way too high to be worth the effort.
Same here, i bought all the premium characters and 2 of the premium monsters. i finished Dracula and Monty Mort days ago. i continue to release the monsters so i can get their stupid junk and i didn’t get a single bonut reward in act III. And of course since today is the last day, they’ve removed the bonut task even though you can still earn event currency

So I am on the final beast battle (serious grind last 3days but I’m there! Yay!) And I have 3 hours til the battle is over but there’s less than 2 hrs left in the event. So my question, does anyone know for sure, that if I let it ride out til morning without rushing it, will I still get rewarded Lord Montymort, or should I be safe and rush it before the clock runs out?
I play every four hours but somehow only have 2/3 cycles done for Montymort. If I spend donuts for him, what will be the cost? Donuts for each battle or one total?
i’m actually positive i did 4 cycles of battles in part 3 of the vestige yet it stayed at 2/3 and a 5th battle began

montymort has been the weirdest and most unfair thing i’ve seen in tapped out. i defeated him first with the normal characters, then with the beasts, then used donuts to just scrap in time with the normal characters again to unlock him and then another beasts fight?! WTF?! how was this time wise possible? i log in every four hours 4-5 times per day and didn’t miss once. i expect this in the family guy or futurama games but really!? how long of a glitched fight was necessary
After completing Vestige parts 1 and 2, Freemium players will have to send characters 8 times to defeat Normal Lord Montymort the first time (32 hours) and beasts 8 times to defeat Giant Lord Montymort the first time (32 hours) for their first defeat of Lord Montymort, Lord Montymort than takes 4 hours to heal. Freemium players will again have to send characters 8 times to defeat Normal Lord Montymort the second time (32 hours) and beasts 8 times to defeat Giant Lord Montymort the second time (32 hours) for their second defeat of Lord Montymort, Lord Montymort than takes 4 hours to heal again. Freemium players will once more have to send characters 8 times to defeat Normal Lord Montymort the third time (32 hours) and beasts 8 times to defeat Giant Lord Montymort the third time (32 hours) for their third and final defeat of Lord Montymort, and will then unlock Lord Montymort (total 200 hours, or 8 and 1/3rd days ). For Premium players, it was possible to do in 5 days. I know I’m not the only one who unlocked him last Monday without using a donut to speed up his tasks. So it was definitely possible time-wise.
Now a majority of people who complained expected a defeat after beating Lord Montymort with their characters and a second defeat when Giant Lord Montymort was beat by their beasts, but they figured it out soon. However, there was a small minority who had a glitch that even after a full 68 hour cycle were showing 0/3. For this minority of players, it definitely sucks.
But without the glitch, it was definitely possible time wise to unlock Lord Montymort.
Let’s not forget that there was yet another group of players who were completely locked out from sending anyone to fight Montymort.
And it took EA whole week to admit that there are several major blocker bugs on their part. During that week they either would simply ignore complainers, or would send them to forums to look for answers that weren’t there.
But taking into account sleep costing one 4 hour cycle to be missed per day, and then having work and a social life meaning each cycle may take a little longer than 4 hours it wasnt likely. I just finished the vsecond defeat when tbe event ended despite playing about as regularly as usual. Not really bothered about the prize though.
it only said to defeat him 3 times, not 6 overall but thanks for clarifying it if that’s the case to how it was done. obviously a mistake by ea but still, by far, 200 total hours on a limited event task seems very left field for tapped out. i’m not fussed anyway about not getting a one off character just more so that it wasn’t explained or that i did put in a lot of effort

Peasant Squeaky Voice Teen was available at the start of the event. You had to buy a donut pack (with real money) to get him as an extra. He was only available for quite a short time.

I used two donuts to end the second beast fight with him, as I was worried the 4 hours, plus another 4 waiting for Montymort to recover could affect the final outcome. As it turned out, I unlocked him yesterday, so I was a bit premature in my concern. But 2 donuts is a small price I’m willing to pay, so all’s good.
do I have to finish the vestige questline to get the side quests and open all of his tasks? just now got the vestige tasks. this one took forever.
No, once you unlock Montymort, his subsequent tasks are unlocked via a separate quest line that can be done after the event ends. I just unlocked him yesterday, and have assigned him to a 24-hour task.
I can’t believe I haven’t unblocked him. I have two more rounds to go. It’s only 4 doughnuts to speed up a round so that’s not bad or I may take the chance it’s not a forced update and I’ll be finished by morning.
Like so many, I encountered the snafu where no matter how many battles the task of defeating Montymort wouldn’t drop. After weeks of this non activity was able to get 2 out of 3 but still ticked off of the numerous problems with this non Halloween event. I also had issues with getting the Count and EA was able to help within a timely manner. They are getting better with customer service. Now if they would step up and deliver a satisfying event……….
Finally the best part of this Event that I’ve been waiting for is the removal update. I’d spend doughnuts if I could remove this event right now. If EA recycles The Christmas event then I’m sure this is the beginning of the end of our tapped out game.
So will we be able to just spend donuts to get Montymort, or will the only option be to spend donuts to speed through battles? I’ll only finish the third kids part, but not the beasts tonight.
I was very surprised and disappointed to find that his two visible tasks are the two things I spent doing, for what seemed like a very long time, when trying to unlock the character in the first place. Also the tasks are a lot less interesting because the other wizards or monsters aren’t fighting with him.
Ahh man really what a let down….. C’mon E.A C’mon. Same freakin problem as the music event grind and grind for a 💩ty prize. Cletus and his disappointing truck now this. Seriously. I guess that’s the new norm with them they’ve moved on.
I’ve earned all prize tracks for all 3 acts at least a good few days before the end, yet Lord Montymort is going to require a small donut spend. Only had freemium assistance for this one throughout and feels like it required more time than it should have, considering I’ve already had count Dracula’s quest complete for nearly 2 days.
Count me in the same camp. I had the good Count D four days ago. I am hours away from the final on Mortymont…but have actually stopped caring.

Unlocked him, but yet not done with the main questline, so no clue what happens when the event ends, since I haven’t actually unlocked his questline…

According to UK time, I still have 7 hours to go of one of the most boring events this game as ever had. I still have the final battle of Lord M to go with the ogres, but it may not be finished within the time limit. There was so much potential for it to be a great event, but sadly it became a very boring grind. I would like to have Lord M completed, but we will have to see
Just don’t download the update from the App store until you are done. It will likely take at least another day before EA does anything else. Keep grinding.
The time is up, but I turned off the automatic updates and hopefully I should be able to finish the final battle with the ogres. Thanks for the heads up xx.

No chance to get bonuts. Defeating him took a really long time! I really liked this event except for the craftables. Unlocked Dracula earlier than I expected and unlocked the full Montymort (ha) yesterday.
Unlocked the character today but several of his tasks are still locked as he is “serving life sentences” . I’m hoping that I’ll have enough time to unlock these otherwise the character will drive me crazy.
The no-progress glitch during Part 1 and Part 2 put me far behind. I don’t know if I can forgive the game for this. I know that I won’t forget.
This entire event has been a never-ending grind. The fact that we don’t earn the final character despite having spent countless time in the event — and doing it right — is a slap in the face. I’m on Part 3; however, I won’t finish it by tonight.
I sympathize with you on this. I think if I hadn’t bought some of the premium characters that I wouldn’t have been able to complete this.
In my opinion you should be able to get all of the content by getting on 4x/day and without buying any premium items. I don’t think that was the case for this event.
I am so ready for the end of this event whoooohoooooo! Got it all. It was less sweat than other events. I did not need to get up at night so much. Much better EA. The crafting prizes wer very lame though specially for those who had crafted most of the stuff in other events.
Working like crazy on accumulating bonuts for the xmas event which will most probably hit when I am on holidays!
I did unlock him a few days ago. What a grind!
But I thought his quests were the most entertaining of the event so I’m happy to have him.
Due to work commitments during this event (and not being able to check in every 4 hours), I had to spend sprinklies for the end of Act II. I’m now in the same position for this Act. I’m going to see how it goes come midnight, and see what I’m at. I’m not fussed if I don’t get Dracula or Lord M., but hopefully it’ll work out. Loved the Potter tie-in, but I’m done with this event.
