Cyber Monday Breakdown…Cyber Monday Mystery Box and Special Items

Bonjour Beautiful Business-minded Bargain Box Budget Buyers & Barterers,

(Today’s post is sponsored by the letter “B”)

As was previewed on Tuesday in this post here, Cyber Monday has arrived (albeit, a day earlier than Monday) and brought with it a ninth Mystery Box. Cyber Monday in the US is the Monday after Thanksgiving and Black Friday; and is known for it’s online promotional sales. So now, I’ll take an in-depth look at this ninth Mystery Boxes – the Cyber Monday Mystery Box!

This is a premium box full of your chance to get those premium character/building/decorations you may have missed out on or hesitated to buy earlier for a discounted price of 65  donuts.  And…if you already have everything in the box you won’t see the box in your store. By now we should all be familiar with how Mystery Boxes work, so let’s jump to the breakdown of what’s inside…

Here’s what you can win…

 Big Digi-Ben – Originally 115 donuts, Should I Buy

Electric Car Bundle (Blue Electric Car, Yellow Electric Car and Red Electric Car) – Originally 120 donuts, Should I Buy, comes with 5.25% bonus on all XP and cash

Elysium Project – Originally 110 donuts, Should I Buy

Future Proofed Home with LadyBot – Originally 100 donuts, Should I Buy, Full playable character

Giant Robot – Originally 75 donuts, Should I Buy), comes with 3% bonus to XP and cash

President Lisa – Originally part of SciFi 2016 prize track, No SIB as it was free, Full playable character (distinct from regular Lisa character)

Rocket to Your Doom – Originally 80 donuts, Should I Buy

Soul Extraction Institute with Robo Burns and Doggy Smithers – Originally 100 donuts, Should I Buy, Two full playable characters

The Homer – Originally 82 donuts, Should I Buy, comes with 3% bonus to XP and cash

Truckasaurus – Originally 225 donuts, Should I Buy, comes with 4.75% bonus to XP and cash

Yard Work Simulator with C.H.U.M. – Originally 175 donuts, Should I Buy, comes with 3% bonus to XP and cash, Full playable character

Now, while I know you can’t pick and choose which items you want from the box, I included the Should I Buy posts from the past so you all can see how much they originally cost and what specifically each building, character, or decoration does.

65  donuts is a bargain for most of these items… except for items that were originally free, as getting it for free is the best deal…but still 65 donuts is a fair price for most of the items at least. So my thoughts are, if you have something in there you really want…give it a try. You’ll likely get something worth it. Though, personally, I’ll be going for the Black Friday Character Mystery Box first.

In addition to the Cyber Monday Mystery Box, Cyber Monday brought a few additional special items into the store with it:

  1. I seriously considered getting the Pow-Wow Casino sign for the 2%, but instead bought the future monument for 0.75% so I could use the rebate donuts for a shot at something worthwhile from the Bronze Box. Mr. Sparkle — yes!!

  2. The car bundle bonus percentage is off, it’s only 5%. The blue car bonus in this bundle is 2.25%, not 2.5%

  3. There’s a lot of enthusiasm here for teleporters and I don’t share it. I have them. I don’t use them. I wish I hadn’t spent the donuts.
I like to scan my Springfield, seeing what’s going on, clearing income and noting what needs maintenance or a re-design – so leaping from one place to another didn’t work for me as I would end up scanning anyway, negating any time-saving benefits.
I’m probably a lone voice on this but thought I’d share my dissenting view for those contemplating the acquisition 🙂

  4. Thanks so much for this post, Safi. When I first saw the teleporters in the store I had no idea they’d actually teleport. Logged into the game and bought them in a second between your rec and Patric’s SIB. Normally I’d stop and think longer about dropping 50 donuts, but the usefulness they’ll provide is more than worth it. They’re by my recycling, my town hall, my employment office and by my modest little (24) KEM farm. No more scrolling around and fighting the lag, yay.

  5. I bought a Cyber Monday box and won the future proofed home and LadyBot. I wasn’t given the option to place or store. I can’t find them. They’re gone from my mystery box (as are my donuts), and I’ve looked through every inventory. I’ve been to Krustyland and have done a hard restart. Any ideas before I contact EA?

    • Same issue, I’ve all ready sent a note to EA. I’ve done “all the tricks” I know of, no luck.

      • I had the same problem. They e-mailed me back with a list of things to try. Ultimately, what worked was uninstalling and then reinstalling the game. It ended up in my inventory. However, I couldn’t see it by a filter. I had to scan through all of my items. Here’s the link they sent me to troubleshoot:
        https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/mobile/troubleshooting-steps-for-ios-apps/

        • Thanks for the link. I was just about to contact them, but I will try this first.

          • The uninstall/ reinstall worked. I decided to buy one final box and got the electric car combo. I laughed because I’d already read about others having issues with that prize, but at least I knew what to look for. Apparently the Tapped Out gods wanted me to work for my deals. Thanks again, Sarah, and I hope, jjwbike, that you found yours.

    • Chree8ee8: Thank you for the troubleshooting link. I was able to find LadyBot this morning and like you, I had to search through all my inventory.

  6. Panic over …. lol. … a blank spot did appear in the general inventory then they appeared one by one. Very odd. Surely there could of been an easier way !!

  7. Please PLEASE help …. I cannot find these electric cars anywhere. I defiantly won them, and they have disappeared from the Cyber Monday box. Someone mentioned look in decorations but I see nothing. Do I need to do any tasks to unlock them? Please help because I really want them and they got bonus attached too! Please, site moderators or fellow tappers, help a frustrated player out !!

    • In Decorations, Look for Electric Car Bundle. Remember, the Decoration inventory is alphabetical, so search under “E”. However, note, the Inventory doesn’t just go from A to Z once. Rather, it repeats a few times. So if you don’t see it under the first “E” section, go to the next, then next.

Once you hit “Use”, the three cars will individually appear in the Inventory. Check under “B” for the blue car, “R” for the red car, and “Y” for the yellow car. It may be easier to find these in the main unfiltered Inventory, rather than in the Decoration inventory, as the main Inventory typically puts new items in the first A to Z selection of items.

  8. You get a menu where you can choose to which portal you want to go. I have one at the Simon House, one on the Ornate Pier, one on Squidport and the last one next to the bus stop to Krustyland.

  9. I really wish they would bring back the turkey npc from the 2013 Thanksgiving event, it’s the only character I don’t have. I guess 100% will continue to elude me…

  10. Does the Krystal and thing work to put the cars in the store so I can buy?

  11. I have the original 2 teleports but not the option for the other 2, should have bought last time.

  12. I’ve got exactly 68 donuts. What should I buy. Cyber Monday box or one from black friday??? or better do I save donuts for Christmas??

    Help me decide

  13. I thought I really wanted The Homer, since I have Herb now, so I ended up sending lots of donuts to get it (got several items I didn’t want first), but now that I have it, I’m not as crazy about it as I thought… It’s out of scale for Powell Motors. (Actually, it’s really Powell Motors that’s too small for what it is.) Oh well….maybe the questline it comes with will be fun….

  14. I rushed to the store, but Black Hole is only 0,25% bonus… or is it just for me? 😀

  15. Tempted by the Hover-Copter but there’s a few things that I desire more, so I’m going to continue saving up donuts.

  16. So I have the ladybot but not the house, does EA register that i already have it because I don’t have it in the box…anyone else have this problem as I can’t remember buying the ladybot?

  17. I am glad to see transporters back. Picked them up along with the Nick Bowling shops, so now I have the teleport options to more quickly clear the town.

Left 2x items in the Mystery box (The Homer, Rocket) and got the rest.

  18. Hi, I won car bundle but can’t find them anywhere. I notice someone posted similar. Any idea where they are?

  19. I followed super safi’s stupendous strategy of purchasing the teleporters. Another great thing about them is that they each come with 0.5% bonus.

  20. Hmmmmm…I think it just took an extra 10 bonuts for my retail box purchase. 🧐

  21. Ok so I know the electric cars weren’t unique as I have several of each…..why am I not able.to buy them…..😫

    • Some of the other items had the same problem (chinese junks originally weren’t unique). I guess if you have one of something, the bargain price doesn’t apply…kinda sucky☹️.

  22. Anyone else get “awarded” the electric car bundle from the cyber monday mystery box only to have the contents no where in sight?

    • At first I thought the bundle was missing, but I found it in the main inventory but without a picture. When I selected it, the three cars (blue, red, and yellow) were placed separately into the Decorations category and I was sent there.

    • There is a single completely black item in storage that is for the electric car bundle. Select that and then all three cars will appear separately in storage.

    • It is weird, you have to go into inventory to find the bundle (general view of all items).

Then tap on Use for the bundle. Electric cars will show up in decorations.

    • Yup…searched my town twice and general inventory 3 times…no cars anywhere. Nothing happens when you choose to “place” them rather than store them, the screen just goes back to where you were in town and places nothing. Definitely a glitch.

    • Went to Krustyland to sync the game…they magically appeared in the inventory.

    • Thanks everyone! I found it just like you said with no picture. I was scanning the inventory so fast I didn’t read the names and thought the blank one was just my flying bats in inventory but didn’t notice there were, in fact, 2 blank items ( one being the bats and the other as the bundle). 😶

    • It happenin my B-Springfield. My A-Springfield has them but it took a while before they automagically appeared in the inventory.

Thank you. I could swear when EA initially came out with the Mystery Box, it was a complete mystery, no breakdown of content options.
I took one bite, moved the inventory list so that C.H.U.M. was on the left and was awarded that item. Yeah!
The other items, not so much interest.
BTW, the link on the Homer , for me took me to a site that indicated a breakdown on purchase would be coming soon. Meh
One final, question– on the teleporters, are they sequential in their effect (1 to 2 to 3 to 4), or random (1 to 3 to 2 to 1 to 3 to 4…) ?

    • They are each named (alpha , omega etc) and when you tap one, a pop-up screen will allow you to choose which one you want to go to. You just have to remember where you put them all. Good luck with that🤪.

    • Neither sequential nor random. When you tap a teleporter you can specify which of the other 3 you want to go to. Very handy to get around town.

    • When you click on one, you get a popup asking you which one of the other three you want to go to. Each of them lets you go to the other 3.

    • When you click on one, it asks which of the other you want to go to.

  24. For once, I’m happy to see a lot of recycled💩 in these boxes. I got a few things for my B game but I’m not at all tempted by Gil’s deal. Normally, I can’t resist shiny, new and seriously overpriced but this year it’s been an easy decision to make. I’d much rather have donuts to spend at Christmas. So bring it on EA. I’m already over this hot, steaming smelly one🙊🤣…….ps. I agree 100% with Safi’s teleporter recommendation. Love them. Happy Sunday tappers…….💜X

  25. There doesn’t seem to be a rebate on the Springfield of tomorrow sign in the store. Do the Itchy and Scratchy NPC’s roam separately or as a pair? This may be the only Cyber Monday item I want.

  26. What I am missing is the three Sideshow Bob Corn Clones. We got the Reddish Space Station, but no SBCCs.
    EA send in the cones!

  27. Hi, does the black hole comes with the super collider building?

  28. Wooo hooo! Something new!

  29. Hi, Itchy and Scratchy Bots are NPC ?

  30. They should have re released the polyvac as president Lisa needs it in her quest line

    • I agree… that event happened when I was taking a break from the game and I am sad to not be able to do her questline

      • Agree with both of you – it’s absurd EA makes a character available but not provide the necessary buildings/characters/whatever to allow you to start the quest line. I wasn’t playing TSTO in 2016 so no chance of me getting it.

I am sending a complaint to EA, I’d like my donuts back for a damaged product….
