Been a rough week at work this week. Who knew treating employees like crap and keeping us severely understaffed all year would backfire during the holidays?
Hit a personal goal in TSTO this week. I finally got over a thousand donuts. No farming, all railyard, Maggie, Daily Challenges and Bonuts. Now to find something to spend it on.
Haven’t gotten around to decorating yet, will soon. Having a hard time getting into Christmas. I used to love it, but my job has just killed my spirit.
Where do you work if you don’t mind me asking? I hope that your Christmas spirit will come back!
I work in one of those wholesale clubs.
My jobs the same, understaffed and underpaid, totally killing my spirit, maybe time to move on, roll out the Christmas event might make it easier
That’s why I took early retirement! I used to love my job, but the trend today is no longer to encourage people to stay, but to make life so miserable they leave. They’d rather hire an inexperienced kid out of college for a third the salary, than to keep seasoned professionals who actually know what they’re doing. My advice to everyone working is to live frugally while maxing out your 401k. Don’t get into debt and buy and hold some good quality blue chip stocks. Then, once you’ve got a nice nest egg, march into HR and see if they’ll give you an early retirement package.

I was curious as to whether flaw and order pt 1 shows up in the task list when it starts and wanted to say that the duffland Gil deal seems to be stuck (and apparently it’s not the first time it’s done so) but this post is mostly just an introduction to the community at large, I’m happy to count myself among your numbers and hope to become an active participant of the community.

Hi…and welcome to the asylum🤪. You will find that a multitude of problems/glitches disappear when you either visit a neighbor (or go to Krustyland) and then come back. It forces the game to sync with EA and that solves a lot of issues. Have fun😁👍.

Hi Mab! Hi everyone! Can’t wait to see this Christmas event. Was really excited to see the lights in the store and I bought them all. I tried the mystery box as I wanted the snow globe and the grumple and got muderhorn instead. I would like to see gift giving brought back. In real life not much is happening, just waiting for Christmas to be done. Won’t be much of one, mainly food and most likely a fight started by the mother in law like Thanksgiving. Then no more holidays till Easter. Well happy tapping everyone, I’m going to finish watching Blue Bloods.
I am soooooo excited. Over at DMK we are going to have the ability to store characters BUT they will still earn currency whilst in storage. When you get them out you will reap what you’ve amassed. How fab is that?………💜X
I know we all have way too much items in our storage if you’ve been tapping for awhile now. I had an idea how to remedy the situation. If EA introduced a “Trash Compactor” that we could offer our unused storage items to exchange for currency or something of value. I’d really like to get rid of most of my storage items.
CURIOUS – yes. We have something like that in Disney Magic Kingdoms. It is so utterly cool. You can exchange for rides or level up items……💜X
The reason limited and premium items can’t be sold or otherwise deleted from inventory is because people used to accidentally sell something they spent donuts on, and call EA about getting it back. Enough people had this problem (and I’m sure a few of them lied about having the problem to get free stuff) that the system was changed to prevent it ever happening. It’s not going to be changed back.
What I would like to see is a special storage for stuff we don’t think we have use for. Something called, for example, “the attic” that we could just send stuff to, and only have to see that stuff if we open the attic. That way it couldn’t be deleted from our games on accident, but it also wouldn’t get in the way as much.
I do like the “hidden items” (attic) concept as you said, but I think the main issue is actually that it’s so tedious to go through all of our items that people think clutter-clearing will solve it… but it won’t really, as shoving everything into your attic just means you now have a messy attic!
What they really need is a keyword search so you could filter all items with similar words in them e.g. “Flag” will return “Australian Flag”, “Canadian Flag”, and “Skull Flag”. “Lamp” will return “Lamp Post”, “Festive Bell Lamp Post”, and “Hanging Streetlamp”. In that way I wouldn’t mind having a million items in storage as I’d almost never have to scroll through long lists of items.
It definitely needs a better sorting system. I always layout a whole stack of one item when I’m designing so I don’t have to keep scrolling around.

Oh – Safi, did you get chance to re-calculate the total land costs for Springfield ? It still shows under the map as 167m odd, but even before the map was marked as updated I got it to 172m odd and now 240m and change.
I checked and checked for typos, reversed number pairs, double taps and slipped decimals – but the math and data seemed fine.
There’s the totals and a link to an excel page saved as HTML on the land costs page. If you get a different total I’ll go over it cell by cell again unless you can spot the error(s).
The excel file is also uploaded to my host server, but I’ve not added a download link yet in case it needs fixed first.

My multiplier is 1000%. However, when I collect my cash, it is only multiplied by between 10-100% depending on the item.
(The trolls for $500 pay $50,000 but jobs that total 80,000 pay 800,000). I don’t know how to track the xp but does anyone else have this issue with cash?
I only noticed it when collecting a troll for $500 and expecting $500,000, but getting $50,000!
As far as I know this may have been going on “forever” but I just noticed it.
Sounds like you’ve been getting extra, not less.
Divide the 1000% bonus by 100 and it comes to 10
A $500 troll tap should pay 100% + 1000%, or 1 and then 10 times $500.
That would make it $5,500 at a 1000% bonus.
The XP is a little more tricky as it depends on Springfield Heights buildings being out and if the collider is on, but you can figure this by building one KEM and collecting it first when it’s completed. Don’t tap on anything else, just the KEM and write down the XP before and after.
If the collider is on divide the difference by 100 else divide by 20.
Now take 100 away as your first % that’s always paid and take away your bonus % in full to see if there is any hidden XP bonus and how much it is in %.
Note I said divide by 20 when not using the collider. A KEM pays 2000 so I’ve divided that by 100 to give a result in %
I look forward to this event more so then any other for a long time. We fired our `war drums` concern shot across EA`s bow awhile back in plenty of time for EA to make concessions now. EA has been listening to our comments and making great changes to this game for a long time. I believe we are going to see this same good faith spirit again now. EA has the talent to bring creative writing, shorter events with different formats, neighbor interactions with meaning and surprises that blow us away. I think we are going to see that now… As we make our usual preparations before such events, I would like to add one more tip. Rub Neosporin on the tip of your tapping finger for several days before launch to soften up the skin. This will keep the skin moist and from drying out and cracking painfully as we tap our way down the home stretch to win those last few valuable prizes we expect to see this time around. I don`t think EA wants this event to hurt.

Waiting for snow to drop in Springfield till I decorate, waiting, waiting, wow, getting tired of waiting. Saw someone else bring up the idea of day and night for the game, would love that. ROBERT M – How about we can select weather ourselves? Then those who love snow and want it til April can do so. Others, like me, want snow but tire of it once the update is over. I’d have fun matching rl weather to my SF. Only problem would be an overuse of grey and dismal☺️……💜X
They have this feature in Dragonvale. There are two buildings you can buy: the Twilight Tower, that changes the time of day/theme (sunrise, midday, midnight, past themes, etc) and the Weather Station, that offers options for objects moving in the air (snow, leaves, dandelion fluff, rain, petals, confetti, etc).
My default combination is dusk and fireflies. It turns on the lights in my park, is easier on the old eyes, and just beautiful.
It would be cool to be able do that in my Springfield! Closest I think I have is making it rain donuts for a few seconds. Are there any other things that alter our Springfields like that?

I hope some day to see the added feature of being able to tap on a building or decoration and see who has a task there, and be able to send them on that task from the building. Like a little drop down menu 🙂 I miss so many great animations because I can’t remember all of the different tasks.

I hope some day to be able to assign a skin AND a task, e.g. a 8h visible, to a character. And after that, regardless of any other 8h task this character has to do for a quest or daily challenge meanwhile, THIS skin and task will be automagically chosen when quest or challenge are finished and I can use the unemployment office again.
Wait EA, there’s still one point: When I have to send maybe 5 villains on a quest, 5 should really be enough. Let the aforementioned office then work for the other villains.
OK, I’m still using the walking KEM exploit for premium 4h tasks, this shouldn’t work anymore then. Or only if I assign the wKEM job individually.
When you reach over 200 characters, it’s downright impossible🤪.
Well, somehow getting the ice palace started a little redesign cascade that ended in almost every church in my town getting moved elsewhere. A few of them had already been moved, but now they all have. I didn’t even end up putting the ice palace in any of those vacated areas, go figure 🤷♀️
I’ll have to go check out the “Synagogue Shuffle”…your town is always fun to visit😁.

Or a robot Kwanzaa based event) to go; a Kang and Kodos version of A Christmas Carol would make me laugh. Or perhaps a more sci-based crossover, Alien vs Christmas, anyone? But most of all I would like an event where going to neighbours actually benefits them as well. Like the dropping of Christmas presents, or in the event of Alien vs Christmas then the dropping of festive facehuggers/baby Kangs.

I tried the mystery box. There were about 10 items in there and I wanted 2; from a probablility standpoint, not that likely. I went back and forth about it and finally rolled the dice and I got one of the two I wanted: the Grumple!
Mystery boxes have been pretty good to me of late. As a freemium non-farmer (yet), the donuts are very few and precious, and I typically preference character deals over % booster items. Mystery boxes make it so I end up with some of those: not necessarily my preference, but good for me in the end.
Please stop the multiple list of names

Got me up to feed him. I crawled back into bed. He ate. Was happy. Jumped into bed, demanded attention. And then decided that my ankles made a perfect pillow.

Since anything goes in this thread, does anyone know when EA will update the app for iPhone X? It is quite small estate on the X!!! Had to resort to using iPad more often.
TSTO-related update:
Well, I didn’t escape the Funzos, but I have gotten a ton of great stuff from the Christmas box and will soon pick up the last one or two items. (I just have the Homer and Ned(?) Santa skins and the Murderhorn left….I want the skins, but, unless there’s something more to the Murderhorn than a big mountain, I might leave that in the box if I get the skins first.) It’s been fun working through the various questlines during this downtime between events.
I’ve been greatly admiring the giant snow globe in my neighbor’s towns for quite a long time and now it’s mine! I decided to add on to the Magic Academy to house it and the Ice Castle and King Winter cave, since they all seem kind of “magical” to me. I was so glad I had crafted a bunch of extra Magic Academy walls and another Magic Academy door/gate thing!
When I got the Funzos (gah!), I assumed they went into inventory and I’d just leave them there, but, no….i found two of them roaming around my town. I’ve stored those, but I’m creeped out knowing there’s one more roaming about…. 😉 😉
Oh, and I put my lights on, but I’ll save the more over-the-top decorations for closer to Christmas.
Non-TSTO-related update:
Today’s the last day of my vacation (🙁), and I actually have to do some work today (hours of catching up on a week’s worth of emails and preparing for the meeting I have first thing on Monday morning), so it really kinda ended yesterday, but I have another, two-week vacation starting after next week (🙂), so it’s not too bad. I need to be super-productive this week…lots of stuff to finish before the end of the year, and I don’t want to rely on getting a ton of stuff done when I return for the last week of December.
I also have my annual physical coming up, so I went for my pre-physical lab tests….guess who suddenly has very high cholesterol? 😱 Not a happy camper at all!! But I guess I’ll have to take it seriously…one of my friends just had double-bypass surgery. Welcome to the mid 50s, I guess… 🙁
I finished the basement part of my boxes-from-work project and spent a fair bit of time listing some stuff for sale that I want to get rid of (no nibbles on any of it yet, sadly), and finally got a chance to organize my nightstand (since I practically live in bed, working in bed as I do, my nightstand is a major platform for a lot of my personal and work stuff). I finally took a break from being “productive” to, for the first time, attend a meeting of the “MIL Stitchers” yesterday. “MIL” is the abbreviation of the name of my town’s library, and the group is a group of knitters and crocheters who met once a month to sit together and knit and crochet stuff for charity. I was surprised how big the group was…I figured there would be, maybe, six women (yes, they’re all women, unfortunately), but there was more than twice that! I managed to crochet up a preemie cap (which was the announced project I showed up for, although I think most of the group were working on finishing up stuff they were making for other charity projects). I met some new women and one of them even gave me her card, in case I wanted to call her to get together for lunch/coffee at some point (she works at home, too), which was a nice thing to have happen. 🙂 The cap I made only used up a small amount of the small skein of yarn, so I think I’ll make a few more preemie caps before the January meeting, which is when they’re “due” by.
Okay…I slept very late and have a lot to do today (plus I’ve rambled on more than long enough), so I’ll end here. Have a good week, everyone, and I hope EA brings y’all the type of event you’re hoping for! 🙂

The Murderhorn goes nicely wth the ski lift and the chalets, if you have the room. As for the funzos🙀, they are the only thing in my Mystery Box, so my town continues to be safe from the little menaces😄.

Hoping they add a snow tile to our games so we can have a winter area all year round. Most Christmas items look silly on the green grass.

I was going to say the same thing. I would love to go wild with my North Pole/Christmas area if I could take pride in it all year long. Without snow it almost looks embarrassing the rest of the year, yet so lovely for so little time. Snow tiles would be awsome!
And ice tiles that stay ice all year…the water tiles only stay ice as long as the event lasts. Would love to make a skating rink for year round.
Thus keeping the many ice sculptures we have (that have bonus %) upright all year instead of being puddles of water hidden behind buildings the rest of the year. That would be cool!
I would LOVE to see a snow tile because the ice items including King Winter’s Cave, Ice Palace and the Ice Walls would look so much better on the snow tiles than grass, pavement or dirt tiles during the rest of the year. I would also like the ability to change connected river to the regular with blinky jumping, Halloween rivers during the Halloween events and the frozen rivers from the Christmas events. 🙂

Well today for me has mainly been a day of recovery and relaxation after a lot of drinking yesterday throughout my friends stag do. Thankfully we planned ahead and met up again this morning for a post stag do fry up breakfast which was a great way to start the day. I’m just glad that I’m mostly better now as I have my work Christmas meal to go to in a few hours.

Yesterday I thought we were going to have a fabulous thunderstorm – the clouds were ripe with rain, there was thunder and lightning- and it slipped past without dropping any rain on my garden!!! Such a disappointment especially as I love thunderstorms… 😞 However, it seemed to be moving in the direction of one of our water supply dams so hopefully it dropped all its water there instead! 😄 The rain we’ve had recently has helped our water situation a little. One of the smaller supply dams is full and is overflowing into our main supply dam which is helping. Our main dam is now at about 18% (usually around 60% at this time of year) but maybe yesterday’s rain went that way instead… 🙏 After watering my pot plants this afternoon it’s now decided to rain a little. Not complaining as the lawn needs it but I don’t think it will last long… While my war with the wild onions (bad plant!) continues, my wild garlic (good plant!) has put out some pretty flowers. All my coloured arum lilies (calla lilies) are growing but no signs of any flowers as yet. Can’t wait because there should be some nice ones soon! Pink, peach, yellow, maroon, purple & black are all possibilities unless they decide they don’t want to flower this year! Will have to wait and see… 😄
Pretty lazy weekend overall. Unfortunately I watched SA v Wales on Saturday (bah, humbug! But well done Wales). Fortunately the World Sevens season started off well for us with a win in the Dubai tournament beating New Zealand in the finals. Next weekend it moves to Cape Town and hopefully this year we can win at home – England, please don’t spoil the party this year!😄😄😄
Enjoyed the little Kang interlude before the Christmas event. Kang is usually trapped on a pier with Dr Robert but now I’m allowing him to roam free doing his 8 hour task – Halloween v Christmas. But all good things must come to an end so at some point he will be sent to keep Dr Robert company again on the pier! 😄 Busy finishing off my last quest line from Black Friday purchases – the Grumple is dying for 12 hours – but I’m ready for action so bring on the next event! 😄

I have a small pier separate from my main boardwalk that I like keeping them on. Once I have them on the pier they either do their 4 or 12 hour tasks. Even if they walk around they tend to stay on it. To get Dr Robert there I send him to on his 4 hour task to ‘Read Medical Texts’ and when he sits on the nearest bench I just move the bench (he stays sitting on it) to the pier. To get Kang there I have to send him on his 10 hour task ‘Taking a Break from Reality’ which he does at the Gate to Nowhere which is on the pier…
I’m easily entertained – Small things amuse small minds
