Should I Spend Donuts on the Outlands Factory?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

The kids of Springfield are mad as hell and they’re not going to take it anymore!  Time for a Battle Royale of epic proportions…kids vs adults.  The soul of Springfield is on the line!   So grab those sprinkles because the store is stocked with battle inspired items to fill your Springfield with!

As we all know, that limited-time label can tempt us to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Outlands Factory to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this dilapidated factory to your town…

Pros
-Comes with a questline
-Always animated, crows fly around roof

Cons

-Animation is lackluster…
-It’s a dilapidated building, doesn’t fit with everyone’s designs

Final Thought
Premium or Freemium:
I’m pretty lukewarm on this.  I think both types of players should stay far away from this one, just not worth the donuts.  Complete pass.

Of course, in the end, it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and as I premium player, I’m passing.   But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games for good (or for now).

Here’s a look at the questline it comes with….

Outlandish Creations Pt. 1
Marge starts

Marge: Homer, why have you built a factory in the middle of nowhere?
Homer: Oh Marge, if I built it at home the DEA would find it.
Marge: The DEA?! Do I even want to know what you’re up to?
Homer: Sweetie, do you ever?
Marge: No, I suppose not. Just keep your bail to the normal limits please.
Make Homer Stock Suspicious Supplies- 30m, Earns $60, 15xp
Homer: There, that’s the last of it.  Now remember our deal. No one must find out!
Frink: Yes, yes, I remember. Although this would go faster if I was allowed to work with some light…

Outlandish Creations Pt. 2
Frink starts

Frink: Okay, Homer-
Homer: NO NAMES!
Frink: Right, er, No Name Simpson.
Homer: That’s better.
Frink: As I was saying. I believe I have created what you’ve asked for.
Homer: Great! If this works you’ll be a hero.
Frink: And allowed to go home, hoyvin! You promised to let me go home!
Make Homer Test the Results- 4hrs, Earns 90 ,70xp
Homer: Oh yes…texture…flavor… sugar headache…You did it! You re-created Lard Lad’s frosting! First frosting, then the world!
Frink: Gloyvin…

  1. I Like the run down look of it. Picked it up. Actually easier to fit into existing sections than I thought it would be.

Also can be placed on boardwalk/pier

  8. Thank you for the information, I’d hadn’t noticed this item so good to be aware of the option 😊 I’ve been really lapse with my designing of late, so this purchase needs some consideration. Always grateful to read the design ideas others have implemented 😊

  9. It doesn’t really fit in my Outlands area, so would rather wait for Act 3.

  11. I kind of like the building, but at the end I rather spend 60 donuts in the Valentine tombola and might get something with a character instead.

  12. I like factory/industrial kinds of buildings so I might pick it up. I’ve got a new area in my Springfield where it might fit. First need to get myself some more donuts though and I do like the Snuggler’s Cove. Deciscions, decisions….

  13. Try sunsphere with this, the color palate works excellent. I placed mine together and I doubt they will separate easy.

Bought it and put it alongside my other factories.

Interesting side note. I’ve been sending all my characters to ASSAULT, rather than FORTIFY because ‘those’ tasks are visual.
This morning I noticed that nit only had the number of VISIBLE characters declined, but also, all the additional fortifications in each of the areas had been used up. Hence forth I shall FORTIFY and once again build up my ‘fortifications’

  15. I absolutely LOVE this building! Went straight into my outlands area with a lard land out front (ready for the rumoured dilapidated skin in act 3 that some have already seen in a glitch).

The birds are animated on top. Beautiful touch!

    • Yeah, I don’t really understand this event at all. I already have a desert-themed Wild West, and I already have a junkyard & factory themed area. i don’t need more junk, literally. I certainly don’t need these junk bases, or any of the broken-down factories or scrap yard stuff. It doesn’t feel like Mad Max to me in the slightest (I know it isn’t, but that’s the inspiration). Yeah, I really don’t “get it” and certainly won’t be keeping any outlands area afterwards… which would be the first time ever I won’t keep a themed area
