New day, new mini-event in Springfield! Yes, Superheros are back! The all-new mini-event has hit our towns with a super theme. Of course, by now, we all know that a new event means a new excuse for EA to fill our stores with limited-time premium items to tempt us.
As we all know, that limited-time label can tempt us to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon. But don’t sweat it! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add Iron Lung to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding the newest superhero to your town…

Premium:
Meh, this one is a toss-up. Animated tasks are lacking and it is just a skin. It’s one of those “if you like it, get it” items…
Freemium:
If you don’t have Moleman this is a decent buy. If you have Moleman it’s an “on the fence buy”. Not thrilled that he only has 1 animated task, unless you purchase the Rambler, but it’s not a bad price…even if it is just a costume.
Of course, in the end, it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and as a premium player, I’m likely passing. But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games for good (or for now). Also, since this is an item that helps with the event, it’s better to pick this up sooner rather than later if you plan to grab it. This way you maximize the event currency earning throughout the entire event.

Two visual tasks, but both are only 1hr in length (and one requires another premium costume)? Yeah, no.
Also, anyone else had their Abe Simpson and Moleman not going on tasks through the Unemployment Office? I’m wagering it’s due to some glitch EA has in this event?
Seems llike a glitch for everyone. I think it’s because abe & mm would have tasks for ooze if you have the skins but EA didn’t bother to code the extra costume check.
It’s especially annoying after Moes Ark NOT preventing unemployment triggered tasks for people who had zoo jobs. They can’t get it right

Off topic, does anyone know what Springfield Asylum from the mystery box does/earns now that that event of 2016 is finished?.. on the SIB post from 2 years ago it only spawned felon fights every 4 hrs. It was a Gil Deal for 200 donuts.
I was just thinking, the price was pretty insane, maybe it does something extraordinary now? My hopes are quite low though…

Pfffff, not worth it
Kind of a impulse buy for me. It was 60 doughnuts for this character + skin combo OR 60 for the mystery box. I took Iron Peanutskin as I thought it may have been a EA mistake and the combo offer would be fixed. 😞
Now if they could bring back the Maude & The Fortune Teller Shop for 25 donuts special again. 😆

A warning for everyone: I stored my zoo habitats and later on nuked my town. My zoo habitats no longer are at the level I upgraded them to. All the animals of the higher levels are closed again. I made a comment on the EA forum already. I even put in donuts for it, so I’m not amused.
So store and/or nuke at your peril with these!
Well thank you for letting us know about that potential problem. I bought some extra grants to upgrade a 2nd Plains habitat for the rhino 🦏,, very much appreciated. 👍
Ran into the same problem with my SH buildings when they were all group-stored. Some reverted to level one, while others retained level 5. Not a problem, since they only come out as a group to boost xp when I’m RTT farming, but worth noting.
Instant by for me since I didn’t have Moleman until now. Had I already gotten him, I would not spend donuts on the Superhero skin since it’s the same donut price. I typically don’t spend donuts on alternate character skins/costumes. On a side note, every time I log into the game, I always get a popup that I bought Iron Lung. Anyone else experiencing this glitch/bug?
Since the Dependables are Senior Citizen superheroes, I was hoping that Jasper would be available for rebate. I don’t have him yet I have 2 of his alternate skins (Softball from the Tap Ball event and Stonecutters)
For anyone who has the ‘iron lung unlocked’ bug, don’t forget to unlock regular Moleman 😉 (send him to work in his regular clothes and close/start the game)

For 60 Sprinkles? It’s worth it to obtain Moleman (he’s not voiced, but he’s definitely one of those unique Springfield Characters) …. I have to agree that if you already have Moleman? Please don’t waste Donuts on this Character Skin (this Mini-Event is easily accomplished without grinding). 👅🍭
Hey, uh, sorry to be Off-Topic here, considering I’m not going to be talking/asking about the Iron Lung bundle (bought it anyways). Do anybody here, who had purchased Disapproving Squirrel found that its 8 hour task with Marge is locked by quest? Is this a bug?
I have Disapproving Squirrel, I don’t think that quest is locked out for me other than the fact the Marge is always busy doing something else. Kind of like Sarah Wiggum with her 8hr task to cut Ralph’s hair…
Huh, strange. Marge is free and when I tapped Disapproving Squirrel is shows a Locked symbol and said beside it: “Quest”. Dagnabbit.
hmm and you’ve finished the questline already? I just double checked and it’s definitely not locked on my game

Sorry for the late reply. I’ve definitely finished the questline in the Poochie event and has used the 8 hour joint task with Marge eversince (it’s hilarious, no other reasons). Stopped using it because Marge is needed in Moe’s Ark and after the new event started, it is locked out. It seems I’m the only one with the problem here oof. And EA’s customer service is definitely not helping with their computer generated replies.
My best advice is to store Poochie and his attached building/ramp. Then do a hard close on your device, reboot, and pull him back out. Sometimes this can re-trigger a task or fix a minor glitch…otherwise you’re stuck with the dreaded “customer service”. (I’ve had the best luck requesting a call-back.) Hope this helps😊.

Saw them at a beach bar when their first album just came out…loved them ever since. My boyfriend was in the intro band, so I got to go to the party after…wierd bunch, but sooooo talented.
GAH! I literally JUST bought Moleman like two weeks ago. Are. You. Kidding. Me. BAH! Might as well just throw donuts into the garbage now! Boo.
I did that with Crazy cat lady and some other character…. I remember how pissed I was that I needed skin of crazy cat lady to use her in the event. Skin was 100 with some stupid swamp no one ever needed. I also remember that bitter moment when I missed Otto bundle deal. I didn’t have donuts for him.
Now I never buy regular store premium characters unless they are participating in the current event. Then I get the deal of skin and character for dirt cheap. My moleman was on my list forever. Long overdue. Got him now and am very happy!

Check his task list…it may be highlighted in yellow…if not, it’s just Grandpa being Grandpa.
Grandpa and Moleman have the same glitch as Dr. Hibbert in the last event. Once you are done with the mini event questline, you can send him on tasks through the office of unemployment.
I have the same thing happening. Since I have Moleman as well, they’d both ignore my job request. I think it’s EA’s way of saying “hey, we have skins for these characters that’ll help you with the event! Don’t you want to buy them? DON’T YOU??!??111???!!?”
Happens no matter what skin Grandpa is in, and he has no open tasks for quests.

i have that, i feel its a bug cause im guessing the rambler has a job collecting goo, and even tho i dont have the costume, it thinks i do so it thinks grandpa has the task to collect goo. same with hans
The game is reserving both Grandpa and Moleman for their mini-event tasks, but they are only highlighted in yellow if you have the premium costume.

Grandpa doesn’t have any Tasks associated with the IRS Building when he is in his Stonecutters Skin (maybe it’s a glitch?). Let’s see what other surprises EA offers up next. 🤔

It is pretty morbid but I thought it might be kinda cool if you could place him in I&S land during Halloween. Still most likely a pass for me though.
Didn’t have Moleman and have plenty of donuts – BUY! Is the “Play Cards” task 4 hours? It says 1hrs and may be a typo (BBB-Q – BYOBB!)
What i want to know: does the rambler talk and say actually rambles of his because he is voiced? – like the time I caught the ferry over to Shelbyville. I needed a new heel for my shoe, so, I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time. Now, to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on ’em. Give me five bees for a quarter, you’d say.
Now where were we? Oh yeah: the important thing was I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. They didn’t have white onions because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones..
Normally I don’t buy skins for already premium characters but this one looks hilarious so just had to grab it 😀
I’ll buy. It’s an iron lung so I have to. I just watched a documentary type thing on YouTube about the last guy using an iron lung. Pretty interesting.
I already have moleman and his only visual task is one hour. Instant DO NOT BUY for me. My personal guideline is that they have to at least have a visual 8 or 12 hour for me to consider a character… unless they are someone I have really fond memories of.

There is definitely that. Watching him roll back to the nearest brown house is weirdly fun. Kind of like Snowsuit Maggie rolling around on her points.

I didn’t have Moleman, so an instant buy for me with classic caracter and outfit for 60 donuts.
Every time i log into game now i get the collection window. The window usually only appears when i first buy.
What can i do? it is quite annoying.
I’ve been struggling to decide whether or not to buy these costumes, I’m glad I have these blogs to help.
